@open he'd been on the island longer than he'd planned. the tree's that had needed felling had taken more time than he'd thought they would and that is what had driven his choice to stay the night on the island instead of making the journey home. it had given him the chance to visit with his father's family and to spend some time reconnecting with those he didn't have the chance to see often and now he'd found himself settled at a table in the flaming wand. he'd call one of their rooms home for the night before venturing back to his home in the morning. he sat with a wooden cup before him, filled to almost the brim with a brew that he'd been assured would satisfy any alcoholic desire he'd have that night and so far it wasn't disappointing. if there was one thing he missed about hy-brasil when he went home it was the brews he could get. of course they had them back home, but there was something a little different about the ones served here. he raised the cup to his lips and took a long sip, wiping the foam off his top lip as he set the cup back down on the table, his attention drawn to the door of the quiet pub as someone entered the small room.

@jakke
Emma had never been to Hy-Brasil before. Heard about it, of course, but never personally seen it. But when the stable had needed someone to visit the island to pick up some medicine one of the older horses needed, she jumped at the chance. The horse in question wasn't sick, just gotten along in years to where it needed the herbal remedies to stay as healthy as possible. The non-emergency of the situation also meant that she could take some time to explore the island as well, instead of just picking it up and leaving as quickly as possible.
To be honest? It was amazing. She'd taken some time that morning to visit the healers in question. She asked them about the remedy and any other suggestions they had to care for winged horses. Then, she'd gotten to explore the winerys, something she'd definitely been looking forward to. Due to her allergy to processed sugar it made certain foods and drinks near impossible for her to try. But the alcohol brewed or fermented here were perfect, as they used natural sugars instead of processed. Before she'd realized it the day had just blown by. Realizing that it perhaps wasn't the wisest to head home so late, she decided to head to the only inn on the island and booked a room for the evening. She stashed her belongings in the room before stopping to think. What should she do now? It was too early to head to bed. Perhaps... head to the pub down stairs? Maybe they'd have some drinks she'd never tried before (due to simply not being available elsewhere) that she could actually drink! The idea was exciting and she immediately headed back down the stairs.
The small pub was cozy, clearly not meant for many people. There was only one other patron there, a man sitting alone. The manners that had been deeply ingrained into her by her upbringing immediately kicked in and she offered a small polite smile. "Oh, hello." she greeted softly. Hopefully he spoke English. She'd realized quickly that some residents of Hy-Brasil didn't speak English that well, which had made a few conversations quite difficult as she felt she didn't speak it well either!
(HI JAKKE! Meet a nice druid girl that literally has no idea shes' druid hahahha. Figured we needed some more threads that weren't the dustiel brats.)

@emma her face was not familiar to him. he knew that he didn't know all of the faces on the island but he had spent many visits among the people, with his family and he had never seen her face before. he wondered if she was someone visiting from the mainland, one of those tourists that aofe had told him about. there seemed to be people visiting the island now more than there had been when he'd been younger but with times changing, that didn't surprise him all that much. he returned her smile as she smiled at him and he sat up a little straighter in his chair. english. that almost confirmed that she wasn't from the island as most people used brasilic when they communicated with each other. "hello." he said as he glanced around the small room and noted the lack of people around for her to interact with. his curiosity of who she was was going to get the better of him and he knew it so he motioned to the chair across from him. "would you sit?"
