Leave it to Bjorn to downplay something as excessive as a five course meal to sound like it was a regular meal. Like all of the effort he'd put into her birthday was just peanuts rather than a very over the top date that had her completely stunned at the effort and dedicated he'd put into something as simple as going out for her birthday. Her expectations had been so much lower. Just going out to a restaurant for a meal and then cuddle up on the couch at her home together or something like that. Maybe a slightly more fancy restaurant where they served other things than steak and chips. Never in a million years would she have guessed he would have gotten her a flying carriage ride towards a beautifully set table under the light of the stars with a personal chef to cook a five course meal only for them. With a different wine for every course that came on it's own immaculate silver platter. It was far more than she'd ever have dared to dream, even if somebody had told her it was going to be a lot more fancy than she'd expected. She was currently living the unexpected dream.
Despite the five courses that had been served Deva did not feel stuff or nauseous at the end of the meal. The desert above all had left her feeling full but with a deep satisfaction. Everything had been completely perfect and there was nothing more she could wish for in a night like this. She watched him with delight as he seemed in thought for a moment, smoothing his hair back. He looked absolutely stunning, especially when he had those little moments she could catch him thinking about something she knew nothing about. There was a depth and mystery there that was as deep as the oceans and even if she could never decipher half the mysteries that hid beneath the surface she was happy to be so close to it. Happy to sail the sees and happy to enjoy his company. There was nothing more she'd wish for right now than everything she already had.
She smiled brightly as he promised her one last surprise as he held his hand out to her. She took it and got up from her seat, brushing off her dress so that she hopefully still looked worthy of his efforts and attentions. "I'll let you surprise me on this one." She said with a content smile on her face, stepping forward to kiss him briefly, wondering what else he had planned. She had no idea what to expect, even more so because everything else so far had been so far beyond the limits of her imagination. She smiled at him, patiently this time, and waiting to see where he'd take her next.

Now was the final moments. Leading up to what was making Bjorn, a man of confidence, as nervous as a schoolboy that was about to talk to his crush for the first time. Only, Bjorn was no school not. His nerves were foreign to him, and that only seemed to make them even worse. At least he wasn’t showing those nerves now, masking them behind his usual confidence.
The corners of his mouth curled upward at her words. Let him surprise her? ”Just this once?” he asked slowly, amusement in his voice. He was rather confident that she’d had little say in when or how he surprised her up till now. Though her permission was cute, and he supposed he couldn’t go along this time. She took his hand and he helped her to her feet. she took a moment to kiss him and it did wonders for his nerve. He moved, leaning down to her and wrapping an arm around her waist while the other caresses her cheek. But then she pulled away and he felt a pant of frustration. He tightened his arm around her waist to draw her close again. He kisses her again, as the brief peck s moment before definitely hasn’t been enough. Only once he was satisfied did he break the kiss and release his hold on her so be could offer her his arm.
He lead her to their final (planned) destination for the night. Across the beautifully curated grass and flowers he’d arranged and down to a small dock. There, tied to the dock was a sail boat. It had no name written on the side but it was a very nice Sail boat. The sort made for the cold northern waters of the UK. He dropped his arm and motioned for Deva to take a closer look.

He teased her and she wriggled her nose at him. "Let me have this one, please! You already planned everything else anyway." She said with a pout. But she wasn't really complaining. She loved the evening and found that the date in and of itself was a perfect present. Yet the night was not yet done and he was not yet fully out of surprises. As the table was cleared he led her away through a beautiful small garden of lush flora down to the small docks. There was a small sailing boat tied down, gently rocking in the waters. She hesitated a moment, as the small boat carried no name. He motioned for her to take a closer look and she approached almost reluctantly, as if she wasn't sure what to think. Knowing Bjorn she could see two options. He'd either purchased the boat as a gift to her or he wanted to take her sailing this night. She was going to guess the second option simply because it was far less presumptuous. She smiled slightly and breathed in the night air. It was a rather perfect night for a short sailing trip....
"She's gorgeous." Deva said with a smile on her face. "But why doesn't she have a name?" She asked in confusion as she approached it, her eyes hungrily sliding over the sail of the ship. She looked ready to head out onto the waves and a part of her wasn't all that interested in staying on shore with the option of the sea before her. Still there were a few questions that probably needed an answer before they would potentially hit the waves, like what the name of the boat was. Deva felt it impersonal to sail on a boat that she didn't know the name of. It was like entering into a business agreement or sharing a room without knowing the name of the other person. While boats and ships were different, she had a very strong preference towards knowing whom she was sailing on. "And is she ready to head out to open water?" Deva said after a moment of consideration. She had never been one for highly spontaneous choices really. She liked being prepared and knowing what she was getting herself into, something that Bjorn tested her on regularly. He didn't like giving spoilers.

While "letting her have this one" was tempting he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her, still smirking just a little. "Considering it's my gift to you for your birthday I would hope I was the one that planned everything," he answers, just as cheeky as before. Though he'd promiseed only one more surprise he knew it was a lie. There were in fact two still in store for her. He wanted the last surprise to truly be a surprise, unlike everything else this evening. The one thing she wouldn't be expecting or have considered.
Bjorn smiled as she approached the sailing boat to examine in. He loved the look in her eyes when she was near ships of any sort. It was what had initially drawn him to her. A love for sailing that matched his own. As she turned back to him and asked about the name he started to grin. He was amused that she wasn't actually saying what she was no doubt thinking. Feigning ignorance, trying not to get her hopes up. But by now he would have thought Deva would stop second guessing herself and his own actions. "Because her owner should be the one to name her," he started slowly, confirming the thoughts she was no doubt trying to deny. At the question of if she was sea worthy he smiled and nodded. "I still have a few enchantments to finish before you can take her out too far." He moved forward, finally approaching his girlfriend and the sailing boat. "We can take her out if you want, though I think you should name her first."

The man was frustrating, but only in the best of ways. Of course she didn't mind him meticulously planning everything, as she found it to be a rather attractive. It showed his mental capacities perfectly. No matter how attractive he was physically, it wasn't that part that had drawn her in. It had far more to do with sharp wit and strategy, as well as the sweet words and letters he'd sent her so swiftly after their first meeting. He was brave and not afraid to get hurt, or he wouldn't have been quite as bold in his words and actions towards her. Yet he wasn't careless or stupid about his course of action, ensuring she liked him as a sailor long before he let her know that he was captain of the ship she so admired. He balanced out bravery perfectly with clever strategies that made her briefly wonder what house he'd have been sorted into if he'd been at Hogwarts. Likely Gryffindor or Slytherin, although March would have her more inclinded to think the latter.
Well, there was the surprise he was no doubt refering to with his one last surprise. It had to be quite the big one since he wasn't quite the type to end the evening on a low note. No, he was taking things way out of proportion again and she felt her heart flutter. She bit her lip and shook her head slightly, not even sure if she wanted to laugh or cry at his audacity and perfection. Well, at least she knew she had a name for the ship. She looked in near frustration between him and the boat but as soon as he moved to approach her she kept her eyes on him, waiting for him to get close enough so she could wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him. It was a challenge to even let him finish his sentence before kissing him. As she (finally) pulled back she looked over her shoulder. "You're impossible." She accused him, but her eyes were shining with happy tears. "I'm naming her the Audacity, for reasons that should by now be more than obvious." She said as she burried her face in his chest for a moment before looking at the ship again, taking a deep breath. "And I'm itching to take her out if we can." She said and instantly headed for the boat, holding his hand in her own and dragging him along (well, dragging in the sense that she wasn't letting go of his hand as she walked away. She was more than aware that she didn't actually have the strength to drag him anywhere without his consent). She glanced up at the sky full of stars and smiled slightly. This had to be the most perfect birthday ever! She never wanted the day to end.

Deva practically jumped him as soon as he was close enough and barely let him finish his sentence. That definitely surprised Bjorn, as Deva was not known for her spontaneity, though it was a pleasant surprise because it let him know that she’d liked the surprise. He grinned into the kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her right against him and make the kiss last longer then she has probably intended. Though he did permit her to pull away just a little when she tried. He snickered as she spoke, first commenting on him and then the name. Of course she’d pick something like that. ”Have I ever been anything but?” he asked, amused. Though as she leaned back in he tightened his arms around her. He could stay like this forever, given the choice. Holding her as if the rest of the world didn’t exist. ”Audacity is a good name.”
Bjorn chuckled as as she headed for the boat, not releasing his hand. Of course he followed, helping her up onto the boat before going to untie it from the dock. Only after did he hope on board himself. ”Take is away, captain,” he said with a smile. After all. It was her boat.

He was impossible, but he was also right that she'd never known him to be anything other than impossible. She still had trouble believing that a man like him could fall for a girl like her, but it seemed real enough in the moment. He hugged her close and she melted into his arms as easily as always. She actually had a boat now, which was madness. He seemed to at least agree that audacity was a good name for the boat, which was really all the approval she needed. With a flick of her wand towards the ship the name wrote itself on on the ship in an elegant but easily legible script. She was and would always be the type to play by the books after all.
Following that she stepped on the boat, followed within seconds by Bjorn. He called her the captain and she smiled a peculiar little smile. Indeed, she was captain on board this vessel, although the role reversal seemed a little strange. She narrowed her eyes at him for a moment, a playful twinkle in her eyes. "Are you telling me you're relinquishing control of the situation for the rest of the night? That I am to set a course to a place of my choosing?" She asked with a small smile. "I should really get myself a hat though. A captains hat." She said with a giggle as she went to work to get the boat good to go. She couldn't help but think of the birthday gift from Severus that she'd opened that morning and shuddered to think of. It was entertaining, but also a little awkward. She worked at a relatively fast pace, mostly just longing to leave the shore behind and feel the wind on her face. It was a little early in the season for some, perhaps, but she couldn't care less. She knew she was in capable hands, even if the weather turned unexpectedly. No doubt Bjorn had weathered many more storms than she herself had and could get them both out alive if needed. She had a rough idea of where she wanted to go, but she also knew there was a limited amount of time. At least a port would be useful, although she wasn't fully sure if Bjorn had thought to bring the paperwork. Oh well, she knew some people if she went to the right ports at least, which ought to help in getting her boat somewhere safe for when she was forced to go back to school and her job. The rest of the night belonged to them though, and she was planning to make the most of it.

Despite her words, Bjorn could see and feel how much she loved the present. Sailing was what had initially caused their meeting all those months ago. It seemed only fitting that he should gift her with her own sailing boat. She'd even mentioned about always having to rent them. Why rent when you could own, especially when it was something you loved as much as she loved sailing? If it made her happy then the was all that mattered to him.
It seemed the "captain" thing was going to her head though and he laughed as she answered, that look in her eyes that he loved but also made him wary. "I'll get you a captain's hat," he answered with a grin. "She's not ready for any deep water sailing, unfortunately. But you can set a course for anywhere near," he reminded her. Her kidnapping had, unfortunately, delayed some of the boat's enchantments that would have made her safer in the open ocean, such as weathering storms. "I have the island for the weekend, so when you want we can tie her at the dock again, and we can take her out all day tomorrow too." After all, there had been that cottage. She didn't expect him to bring her back to the ship tonight did she? He felt it was necessary to let her know though, just in case she got any ideas that she only had tonight to get her sailing in. Plus, he still had the final surprise of the evening...
Bjorn made himself comfortable, helping out when she needed but overall letting Deva have her moment of preparing and beginning to sail her own sailing boat. Soon the boat was gliding across the water, as smooth as a knife through butter. The lights of the island were dim but still visible, making navigation in the dark evening easier. Bjorn moved from where he'd been seated and watching his girlfriend. He approached her. "I have something serious I'd like to discuss with you," he started, gently placing his hands on her shoulders and steering her to sit down. Once seated he loosened the sail, so that the boat would slow. A few other quick adjustments and he dropped the anchor, so that the boat was rocking softly in the mellow waves. Only then did he turn back to Deva.
Well, if he wasn't nervous before, he was now.
He took a moment to take a breath, before putting on a confident smile. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. It was laminated, and, if she looked closely... it would no doubt look very familiar. He held it out to her. "Now, I happened to notice a few things on this plan of yours that have yet to come to pass," he started. He hoped she'd be too focused on her 10 year plan then on his next actions. As he was slowly getting down on one knee in front of her. "Things that I might be able to help you with, if you'll let me." He was fully down on one knee now and was reaching into his jacket pocket to pull out a small ring box. "I haven't planned the rest of my life, and I can't promise the stability you want. But I can promise that I love you more than anything and I can't imagine my life without you by my side." He opened the ring box, and turned it so she could see inside. Inside was an antique gold ring. The only his grandfather had given his grandmother, and the reason he'd had to go home to Norway on such short notice. He couldn't exactly propose with out the ring, could he?
"Deva, will you marry me?"

Deva smiled as he promised her a fancy hat, even if it had mostly been a joke on her end. Then he said she could sail anywhere nearby and revealed he had the entire island for the weekend. She paused then and gave him a stunned look. "You rented an island for the weekend?" She asked in stunned disbelief before vomiting out the first thought that came to mind. "But I didn't bring a change of clothes." Leave it to Deva to instantly consider the practical side of things so she could add concerns. It did make the destination easier as a trip around the island and/or the neighbours was easy and fun enough.
Before long they were out on the water and Deva was convinced the night was perfect and complete. She enjoyed the sensation of the sea breeze on her face and smiled in the night air as the lumination from the stars made everything she wanted and needed to see visible. It wasn't dark under the light of a million stars. Yet Bjorn took charge and sat her down and halted the ship. She pouted for a moment."I thought I was supposed to be in charge!" She said playfully, but her smile faltered and fell as he mentioned discussing a serious matter. He was still smiling, but she was a tiny bit concerned. He didn't seem worried himself, although she wondered if he looked... nervous? Well that was going to be quite something. He pulled out her laminated 10 year plan. The one she'd thrown out, or at least thought she had. So many plans she was no longer sure about and needed to adjust. She looked over it and when she looked up again he was on one knee.
Oh dear...
One knee....
His words registered slowly as she covered her mouth in shock. Was this happening? He'd said no more surprises but trust a pirate to lie for sake of keeping the biggest surprise of them all. She could feel happy tears welling up in her eyes as shock and amazement fought for a joint first place with joy.
She nodded wordlessly first, putting the laminated paper down beside her before approaching him to kiss him, being very careful not to tip them over or knock the ring from his hands. After she pulled away she looked at him, biting her lip. "Your love is the only thing I need to be stable. We'll figure out the rest together." She said near breathlessly. "So yes, I would love to marry you. More than anything."
