May 15th, 2026 Funny, wasn't it? After everything she'd been through and all that happened this was the moment that Deva found herself to be reassing her view on the world. She'd always believed people were inherrently good. That rules were there to be upheld and to help people. That her fiancee was making a bad choice in career because it involved crime. Really, the doubts she'd had were only barely overcome by the insanity of her love, or so she thought. Now as the realisation of reality dawned on her as she had poked her food with a fork as she impatiently waited to see the love of her life, she'd began noticing things were off. Students simply stopped eating in the middle of their meals and sat, unmoving. Especially the few students she knew from her class were far too keen on food to always gobble up the food they made in a heartbeat simply sat in front of their half eaten plates in what seemed like some form of stunned incomprehension. Deva wasn't the most clever witch, nor extremely talented. It was her kindness and belief in the good of others that set her apart. That and the fact that rules were made to be followed. Always be on time. But this was the last time. Bjorn had been in a foul mood of late, suffering the loss of somebody dear to him. Yet the patronus left her wand and rushed to him to warn him that something was going on at school. She wasn't quite sure what it meant yet and the person beside her. "Something is going on. I'm going to see what's up." She muttered in a low voice as she promptly left her seat and started out amongst students to try and figure out what it was. This time it wasn't going to be simple. No good and evil and black and white. Just a wide variation of horror that was about to unfold. She walked up to one of the students that wasn't moving and gently shook them. No reaction. She looked to one of the students that had not yet eaten and quickly halted them. "Hold up, don't eat yet. I think something is going on." She said. Then she felt uncomfortable, as if everything was getting heated all of a sudden. What on earth was going on? And who was responsible? (open to whomever is at hogwarts)

@deva it wasn't often that sunday was late for any kind of food. tonight he'd been so caught up at the qudditch pitch that he'd not noticed how late it had gotten until he looked up and saw the sky was starting to darken. maybe that sandwich he'd eaten before he'd come down to train hadn't been the smartest idea. he'd stashed his gear away in the locker room before he'd made his way back up to the castle. he stopped short when he reached the main door of the castle, feeling something wasn't right. he shrugged it off though, after all no one else in the hall seemed concerned. but he couldn't stop the niggling feeling in the back of his mind.
moving through to the great hall he found an empty spot at the gryffindor table and grabbed one of the plates that was still clean. he started grabbing spoonful's of food without really caring what he was grabbing. there wasn't really anything the school served that he didn't eat. food was food. unless it was the vegan like meat that his mother regularly forced on her children. that was just an insult to vegetables. it was then he felt the temperature change in the hall. it was starting to get hotter than he could ever remember it getting and there was a hot smell to the air when he breathed in. he frowned a little as he started to smell the faint scent of smoke on the air. it wasn't like someone had just lit a fireplace alight. it was different, there was a strangeness to it.
it was then he noticed the students around him but he didn't have time to think anything about it when he heard one of the professor's come up next to him telling him not to eat. he glanced down at the plate of food in front of him before he stood up from the table. "what's wrong with them?" he asked as he looked at the students who had stilled at the table around him. he didn't know if it was because he was a werewolf and was slightly more sensitive to changes around him but it was almost like he could feel the heat radiating through the floor beneath them. "somthing's burning."

Deva was glad he listened and asked what was wrong, even though she had no answers. Then he mentioned that something was burning and she instantly bit her lip. "Start warning your peers. Tell them to grab as many students as they can and start evacuating. I don't want a mass panic so please be as careful as you can." She instructed him with a frown as she got her wand out. She glanced around and noticed that she wasn't the only one that had started the process. She was starting to notice that more and more students were being told by her fellow teachers to take their paralysed classmates and evacuate. Probably for the best. "Take the paralysed students as far as possible from the castle. If something is on fire we can't be sure how far it'll get. No matter what you do, don't come back into the building once you're out." She told him. She wasn't sure if he was going to listen, but for sake of his own health he'd better. "Go." She said urgently as she started to try and see what else she could do to move the students along in the evacuation process.
