▲ Of course the line that went towards the medical tents would be painstakingly slow. There was another split in it, where those that were paralyzed were taken one way, and injured persons the other. Charlie could see the y-split ahead of them, and noticed that what looked to be Ministry workers running floating bodies in were being given faster access. In the darkness she couldn't tell if the people leaving the tent on the other end were the same government workers or kids being cured of their paralysis. Her poor knowledge on potions and mass production of such a thing like this left her wondering how bad it really could be, and seeing as the tent was infinitely large and people were leaving, the cure was hopefully a quick fix. "Its going to be a little while longer, Mo," Charlie exhaled, trying to stand in the tips of her toes to try and get a better view of the medical tents. The only doubt she had was that this was one of those magical tents with a huge interior. If that was the case, they were possibly walking into a scene almost as horrifying as the castle had been. "Ministry people keep running other students by and are being given attention first," she relayed as well, unsure if her sister could tell what was going on in that regard. Waiting this long was making her nervous, not for Monday's sake because it seemed like she was merely paralyzed and nothing else, but for the rest of their siblings. Every scream from the vicinity around them was heart-wrenching, and she could tell they weren't screams of joy. There were going to be classmates she would never see again after today. Trying to convince herself that her family would be spared that horror wasn't something she was willing to commit to, because she knew the odds were a lot worse than others, seeing how many of them were still in school. She hadn't even seen any of them aside from Monday at dinner. Taking a deep breath, Charlie tried to fight back the first stream of tears that had found their way out of her since the start of all this. Telling herself it wasn't allowed until Monday was moving again wasn't working anymore. Instead she silently chewed on her lip to hide her quiet sobs from Monday, and let the tears fall as fast as they could come. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

May 15, 2026 Monday remained grateful for the updates that Charlie was giving her from her vantage point. Not being able to turn her head or move her eyes had gotten old already, and it was even more frustrating when so much of what was going on was changing by the second. She could still see, fortunately, but not being able to see everything as she should have been able to was almost as bad as not being able to see at all. Her ability to hear everything hadn't gone away, and not being able to determine what sounds were coming from where or from whom unless they were right in front of her added to her stress. Without her sister's play-by-play, she would have been even more confused by what in Merlin's name was happening.
Charlie, too, seemed to be at a loss, and she explained that it would be a while before they could get her seen by a Healer. Her condition wasn't worsening; Monday didn't think it was, so as long as she tried to stay patient and positive and hope that nothing else awful was happening, apart from the screaming and the running footsteps that weren't ceasing despite how many people were in line to do what she and Charlie were there for…
According to Charlie, though, there were people there from the Ministry who were trying to get other students seen first. It obviously wasn't a case of nepotism—because the both of them would have found a way to benefit in that case—but tied to the likelihood that there were students who were seriously injured or dead who needed to be addressed before even the ones who were paralyzed from whatever had happened in the Great Hall.
Unable to see if any of the students who had been rushed over to a Healer's attention were their siblings, Monday grew concerned when Charlie stopped her running commentary. It was too hard to determine what was going on, and she couldn't hear that her sister was actually crying over all the other noise. Ordinarily, she would have been able to turn her head to see that tears were falling from Charlie's eyes, at least. It was actually the expression on the face of one of the students in front of them who had turned back to look in their direction that had clued Monday in that something wasn't right—beyond the paralysis and the dragon and the apparent fire.
Was it one of their siblings over there? Monday wanted to know but had no way of asking, nor did she want to hear the answer if it was going to be what she feared it was. Physically, she couldn't cry, even though she could hear for a brief moment that her sister was. The student who had looked in their direction looked forward again. She knew it was painful and that there was no way that anyone at Hogwarts was going to make it through that evening without some sort of damage. If only there were a Legilimens around to stand there and communicate her thoughts to Charlie for her, Monday wished, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. No one could waste that kind of time at that moment, though; that was abundantly clear.
She needed Charlie to be able to keep it together just long enough to get her over to where she could be healed. Even if she couldn't return to normal, Monday hoped, she could at least regain the ability to blink, and being able to speak again would be awfully nice. Staying in that seated position forever would be more than a mild inconvenience, but she would take it over having to rely on somebody else's Legilimency to make even her most basic needs known. There was only so much that her younger sister could do to talk to herself and anticipate what she might be thinking or feeling, and Monday didn't wish that on her.
There was little positive left to be found, but the absence of any bad news about their siblings was good news. From where they were, Monday had heard nothing to suggest that any of their siblings were gravely injured—made easier, for once, because nobody around them had anything to say about any time but the terrifying present. They would need to make sure that their siblings were all accounted for; that hadn't changed, but maybe they would all be okay.

▲ Maintaining the levitation charm and slowly inching forward in the line was basically all Charlie could do right now. She knew that she should have continued her running commentary for Monday because she was pretty sure it helped, but doing so was impossible right now. Her sobbing could be defined as frightened relief; on one hand, she and Monday were seemingly safe for the time being, on the other, a completely unknown outcome for the rest of their family and friends. There looked to be some sort of 'fix' that the Ministry and healers had figured out, or at least that seemed to be her prevailing thought since the line was moving and people weren't crowded at the other end of the now visible tents that had been set up. If there was no hope for Monday's condition, and all of the other paralyzed students, it would surely be more chaotic, right? The only reason the Ministry employees were allowed to skip the line was because they had to go immediately back to the castle and save the next person. That was when Charlie decided she was going to do something stupid. Would the healers actually turn her away and back towards the line she was currently in if she budged her way to the front and made a scene on the heels of a Ministry member? At least then she could be closer to the end of the line and see what was actually going on there, if anything. As far as she knew, they were just putting all the paralyzed kids in a pile. The thought of that stung hard and she decided it was better to get it over with now rather than waiting. "I-I think I'm going to skip the line," she whispered in Monday's ear to keep the others in line from hearing her plan. Her voice was shakier than it had been all night, and now that the initial fight or flight response to what had happened inside the castle had worn off, she definitely felt small and weak. Almost tripping over her own feet as she turned to follow the next person that looked like Ministry, Charlie pulled what seemed to be the last of her energy out and followed closely behind them. The front of the line was a lot closer than she realized, though her budging had advanced her by several dozen students. She only noticed a few others with levitating bodies near them, similar to her, and suddenly felt stupid. Could she have done this from the start? The healer at the front that separated the line in two once again ushered the Ministry worker one way, and a student with some unknown injury the other. As Charlie approached, a hand was held out to stop her, but she ignored it and started following the way that looked to be the correct one. "She needs help!" she screamed at the poor healer that was only doing their job, but who ultimately didn't stop her from passing. Tent flaps pulled aside to allow Charlie to bring her sister inside, rows of pop-up cots and rushing healers could be seen. Students lay on them, and her first thought went back to them being piled up until something could be done. But one healer close by was pouring something into the mouth of a person, and Charlie could see one of their feet starting to move. An antidote! With her eyes adjusting to the glowing balls of light that sat at the top of the tent, she could now see that there were others in varying states of recovery. Some sitting up on their cots, rotating their ankles or feeling fingers that were still frozen. She must have stopped right beyond the tent entrance, as the next healer inside started barking rushed orders at her to bring Monday over to the next open bed in line. Charlie did as instructed, finally releasing her levitation charm when it looked like her sister was safely set down. A different healer was already running towards them, vial in hand... May 15, 2026 Having an antidote poured into her mouth when she had no ability to swallow it properly was an experience that Monday never wanted to relive, but at least she would live to see another day. The effects of whatever she had been given didn't take hold instantaneously, but it was close enough. The first thing that Monday did was cough and sputter—and then take in a deep breath, though she tried not to hyperventilate as she realized that her chest was moving up and down again like it should have been. The muscles in her face loosened, and her eyes flooded with tears as she straightened her legs out on the cot. She was able to move again. She wasn't going to die that way.
"Charlie," Monday sobbed loudly, her voice hoarse. She had never thought that she would appreciate being able to cry and embarrass herself, but she stiffly reached over to her younger sister to pull her into a hug. She didn't know if she would need to be taken to St. Mungo's for additional treatment or if the Healers who had come there would let her get up and walk away after some period of observation.
She knew that they needed to make sure that the rest of their siblings were safe, but her phone wasn't on her. If Gryffindor Tower wasn't destroyed, then maybe she could still summon it out. She needed to get in touch with their parents. They needed to know what was happening, even though Monday herself wasn't completely sure what had happened beyond the obvious. She needed Charlie to try to locate everybody else, but she didn't want her to leave her sight. She kept sobbing, at a loss for what else to say or do as her mind raced.

▲ Watching the healer pour whatever this antidote was down her sister's throat was agonizing. Charlie knew that it would bring Monday back to normal, as she could now hear other students receiving the same treatment gasping and coming to again. She had been so close to having the same thing happen to her, had it not been for the normally rude French girl slapping the fork out of her hand before she could take a bite. Had that not happened, she wouldn't have known Monday's whereabouts or what was going on right now. Maybe, and that was a very small maybe, she would have been evacuated already. And then what? Told to go to a safe zone? Taken to St. Mungo's? She was sure she'd find out from the healer here in a minute once Monday was fully unparalyzed and back to normal. It took a minute or two for the effects of the antidote to start working, and Charlie first noticed it when Monday's chest started to heave, causing her to cough. The sudden noise coming from her sister broke the last barrier of emotions that she'd been barely holding onto for the last few minutes, and hearing her name called didn't help at all. Grabbing onto Monday as she reached up, Charlie bawled into her shoulder. Too much had happened too fast and now it was all catching up to her at the same time. A hard nudge on her shoulder was what it took for her to look up, the healer standing over her now. They said that she needed to move along now towards the evacuation area, and Monday would have to stay longer. Charlie tried to argue, but couldn't find the words for it, instead looking back and forth between her sister and the healer. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

May 15, 2026 They barely had the opportunity to hug each other before the Healer who had administered the antidote to her was informing them that Charlie needed to leave. Charlie was obviously stunned to hear that, as was Monday, and she spoke before Charlie could. "O-Okay," she told the Healer through her continued tears, knowing that they couldn't have tons of people just hanging around while they worked to make sure that all of the students who were paralyzed or otherwise injured were seen to as quickly as possible.
Monday turned her attention to Charlie. She needed to see if she could find at least one of their siblings so that they could all figure out if any of them weren't accounted for outside. It wouldn't be easy; she knew that Charlie wasn't in the right frame of mind to take on too much more, but that was their next priority. "Don't… Don't go too far from the—from the tent, okay?" she advised her shakily. They didn't need to lose track of one another. "Find somebody, um, with a—with a phone, a-and see if you can call Mom and Dad…"

▲ Charlie knew that the healer didn't mean to be rude - they had an unknown amount of injured students and had to work fast. Having stood in the line outside, she knew that. At the same time, she didn't want to let go of Monday. The healer repeated that she had to leave, and that they would take care of her sister for her. She had no grounds to argue because she knew that there was a point where she would overstay her welcome. If they let her hang around, they would have to let everyone do the same. And right now the only people in the tent were recovering students and medical staff. Biting down into her lower lip in frustration, Charlie nodded her head that she understood. That got the healer off their backs for a few moments, but she knew if they came back and saw her still there it would become an actual problem. Monday immediately started asking Charlie to find someone with a phone, and not to stray too far from the tent. "If-If they tell me to go, I'll be at the evacuation area...b-but I'll try to get back here, okay?" The healers absolutely weren't going to let her back in once she stepped back out onto the street, but she had to at least say she would try. Squeezing Monday once more, she stood up and felt her legs wobbling underneath her. She still needed them to work for a little longer. At least until she got a phone or found the rest of the family. Turning, she walked briskly out of the tent and back into the cold of Hogsmeade. Finding a phone was more difficult than she thought, and she ran into multiple people along the way, mostly because she wasn't paying much attention to them. Directing a Ravenclaw girl towards the medical tents who was on Aurors orders to find a mediwizard, Charlie eventually found a familiar face that was willing to relent their phone for a moment. Secretly of course, because if others saw the phone they'd want to use it until it was dead. She understood the need to keep it hush hush, and immediately punched in her mom's phone number, the only one she had committed to memory. It rang all the way through, and Charlie hung up before remembering she could leave a voicemail. Of course her mom wouldn't pick up from a random number. Hitting the redial, it rang through again and she immediately burst into a blubbering mess as she tried to explain everything that had happened. "M-Mom it's Charlie. M-Monday and I are safe, the school w-was on fire and we got out b-b-but she was paralyzed so I had-I had to carry her to Hogsmeade. I think she's uhh...the healer said she's going to be fine I think. I'm trying to find everyone else...this is a uhh friend's phone so I don't think you'll be able to reach me on it..." She took a long inhale as her voice wavered and cracked, before continuing, "If any of them call, Monday's with the healers and I'll be around there. I don't have my phone b-but we're fine I thi-" The beep of the voicemail cut her off before she could really say everything she wanted, and the phone's owner was already asking for it back because they needed to try their own parents again. Handing it back over, Charlie began her wandering up and down the line of injured students, hoping she'd find another sibling so that she could pass along the information to them as well.
