Late August 2026
The past two months had flown by, and Luna had settled into her position within the Bats. They were performing… well, if not perfectly, then better than the previous season. Luna worked well with her fellow beater, and protected her other players at all costs. Since the first practice of the season, Luna and Simon had found themselves too busy to contemplate the moment they’d shared outside the pub in the rain. They were being worked to the bone, and Luna was finally beginning to realise how Quidditch was a full time job, and not just a hobby. They were completely drained after sessions, and even though the team frequently went to the pub, there was no opportunity to get as drunk as they had the first night. And for that, Luna was eternally grateful.
It wasn’t that she was avoiding Simon or anything. Really, they were just too busy. But Luna had remembered her place - and she was not the girl who had led Simon on whilst dating his best friend, the one he had ultimately chosen. Luna couldn’t really understand the allure of Claudia, especially with the reputation she had garnered before graduating school, but she had to be an adult about it. Besides, Evy would very likely slit her throat if Luna got involved with Simon again. The chemistry between them was undeniable, of which Luna was certain. But her resolve had been stronger. At least, as long as they kept themselves an arms length apart.
On this particularly wet, August afternoon, training had finished early due to thunderstorms in the area. They didn’t have another match until late the following week, so the coach decided to offer the team a reprieve. A few of her teammates had decided to head to the pub for dinner, and Luna was keen to join as to stay in their good graces. She didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing that Simon had agreed to come as well.
As the group settled into their table, Luna found herself seated next to Simon. He wasn’t uncomfortably close, but there was a certain buzz of electricity in the space that separated their legs. Luna was hyper aware of her hands and her positioning in general. She shot a sidelong glance at Simon, and offered him a small smile. ”Irish life living up to the expectations?” she asked in a low voice.

Most days, he was too busy and sore to feel sadness, but he thought of Sofia often. There had been many sleepless nights thinking of his sisters demise but the longer he played on the Bats, the easier things seemed to get. Time continued to move on, that was the weird thing about death. It was easy to be forgotten. Simon felt the ache for Sofia almost every moment of his waking life. Slowly he was learning how to cope with the feeling, shoving the emotions aside and turning it into energy and passion to work harder. To become something his sister would be proud of.
Simon remembered how pissed off Sofia was when she found out about him and Claudia, and the backstabbing of Nate. She was pissed off at Simon for keeping such a secret from her. Well, it made sense. What he was doing was morally wrong, he didn't want to deal with her judgement. So Simon was working on not keeping secrets. At least, not the darker ones that involved sneaking around and lying.
The distance from Ireland to London was enough to put strain on whatever relationship Simon and Claudia had developed. Simon felt like he was too busy with the Bats, she was busy with grueling training at WADA, but he knew he'd always have her in his heart. They had gone through Hell and back, the timing was just always fucking off. Always. So they were on one of their "off" times, again. It had been over a week since he had reached out to her mostly because he had been too busy but they also fought a lot and he didn't have the energy to deal with it.
Time with the Bats moved faster. Simon was a restless player and always wanted to be moving onto the next thing. Simon had quickly adjusted to their training schedule and often spent time at the pitch or gym after hours to busy his mind. He was in the best shape of his life because of it, and it beat moping about things in his personal life. After the first night at the pub with the Bats, where he and Luna shared an innocent but electrifying hug. One that had stunned the both of them, they hadn't talked about it. It wasn't as awkward around Luna anymore, he had almost gotten used to having her around, as long as he didn't touch her or stare too long. There were moments he was caught off guard by Luna, the way her hair would whip in the wind in the sunlight, or the small, mysterious smiles, she shot from across the pitch when they scored. The half vampire wished he had the ability to see into her mind.
Simon agreed to the outing with the Bats before he realized that Luna would be there. A prickle of anxiety nipped at his gut from memories of the first time they entered the pub together and got completely obliterated. She ended the night with classic 'Irish Exit', which was the best, for the both of them.
The Bats entered the pub with their usual greetings. Patrons sent shots their way and they never denied free booze, especially when they had an off day the next day. Simon easily knocked back the shots before ordering a beer, hoping that would stop people from sending shots of whiskey his way if his hands were already nursing something.
Luna's low voice pulled him out of his thoughts, the half vamp raised his shoulders into a lazy shrug at her question. "Well, it's not what I expected.." Simon admitted with a small laugh, turning slightly so he'd face Luna, and realizing he hadn't been that close to her in a long time. He could see the freckles sprinkling across her nose. Raising the glass to his lips, he took a sip to earn a moment. "Guess I didn't realize how far everything seems when you're on an island. This place would be fuckin' lonely without the Bats to be honest." he told her, not meant to sound sulky, he was being honest with her. Simon looked down at the foamy stout he nursed in his hands, "It's crazy to think we've been with the Bats for almost 3 months now." Simon commented offhandedly before his gaze fell back on her to ask with genuine interest,, "How about for you?"

As soon as the team entered the pub, they were greeted as old friends. It made perfect sense - they spent so much time and money on this establishment, the old couple who owned the place simply adored them.Though the customers and owners and bartenders didn’t know what they played, they were well aware that they were athletes. Each time a question was asked, it was brushed off and hidden with a well placed tequila shot. This tactic had worked for many years, and showed no sign of stopping. Shots of who knew what kind of liquor were passed around, but Luna sneakily dodged her allotment by sneaking off to the loo to apply some lipstick. She made a pit stop at the bar to get a glass of wine before making her way to their table.
The last empty seat at their table was next to Simon, and it would be the closest they had been since the night after the first training. Luna’s iron will had kept her from doing what she really wanted - falling into old habits and the familiarity of Simon. They had remained cordial, friendly even though they kept their distance from one another. It was almost as if they both knew what could have been, and were ardently sticking their heads in the sand and pretending nothing had ever happened. Luna greeted Simon with a question as to how he was adjusting, figuring that was a safe enough topic of conversation.
With a snort, Luna replied. ”Well you were keen on the idea of drinks all the time and pubs at every corner, what else could you ask for?” said Luna. When Simon admitted that it was rather lonely out here, Luna frowned. She hadn’t really felt the loneliness as much, having actively chosen to distance herself from everything she’d ever known with her sisters. ”Yeah, I suppose,” she acquiesced. ”Well, if you ever feel really lonely, you can always ring me. I might not pick up but maybe it will feel better to know that there’s someone not so far away,” she offered. ”I suppose this is what it means to be an adult. You have to try a bit harder with your relationships,” she added thoughtfully after a moment.
Nodding, Luna spoke. ”To think, I could have gone to Durmstrang and played Quidditch there. Can’t believe I actually got scouted. Your forewarning about how freezing Durmstrang is really put me off, but I can’t really say all this rain is much better,” said Luna with a frown. Simon’s gaze fell on her again and she smiled. ”I quite like it, actually. I’m just Luna now. Not one of three. You know how I always hated that,” she said, taking a long drink from her wine. ”How are things with… you know,” she started, but couldn’t bring herself to mention Claudia’s name. She figured she ought to get used to Simon’s bad taste if they were to move forward as friends.

Luna had a different air about her these days, she was confident as she balanced the wine glass in her hand with sinfully painted lips. Simon was oddly jealous about her newfound confidence she excuded, wishing he could hone in that effortless swagger he once had. They quickly fell into a friendly conversation and he was grateful. Luna offered for him to give her a ring when he was lonely, he knew she meant it as a friend. Smiling with endearment, he laughed. Simon knew he was lucky to have her around as a teammate and a friend. "Thanks Lu." he said with a chuckle. Finding that nickname unnatural because he had gotten used to formally calling her 'Luna' again. "The same goes for you, but you seem to thriving with your independence." Simon commented honestly with a small smile, meant to be more of a compliment. He remembered how badly she wanted to have something for herself, away from her sisters. His head bobbed into a nod when she said that relationships took more work and he sighed. "Relationships, friendships..it all takes so much more effort once out in the wild. After practice, and matches, I kind of just don't want to do anything, ya know?" Simon said, wondering if that actually made him lame, taking a generous sip of his beer. Fuck, maybe that was depression.
Simon smiled when she shared that she was happier than ever without her sisters making her feel like one of three. He knew what she meant, or well, he felt like he understood because he had a twin. His head bobbed into a nod, "You're living the dream and you got a head start. Imagine where you'll be in a year. This beats a seventh year at Durmstrang, or anywhere, really. Durmstrang is a nightmare. You'd hate it." he shared in an inebriated ramble before quirking a curious eyebrow to ask with a chuckle, "Is that where your sisters will be going?"
When Luna asked about Claudia, he wasn't sure how to answer her. His jaw clenched as his eyes fell to his beer, "It's complicated." he finally said with a sigh, hating how that sounded. But it was the truth. Taking a sip of beer to earn him a moment, he dared to bring his eyes back to Luna's steely gaze. "We're broken up right now." Simon followed. It wasn't an invitation, more of a fact. "With the distance and busy schedules, things just..yeah, they got hard." Since he had a moment to be honest with Luna, a beer in his hand, he figured he would tell her because he was tired of secrets. Simon was curious how Luna would take the information, considering their recent past. His eyes fell on hers carefully as she tried to read her face, the alcohol in his belly flushing his face and calming his nerves.

Luna was almost unrecognisable after changes in the past few months. Her new found independence had helped her flourish, and while she was still somewhat off putting and bossy, she was generally much happier. The only thing that could have completed her picture perfect life was having Evy by her side. Her best friend had visited nearly every weekend, especially match days when she could. But school was starting soon for Evy, which lessened the amount of time they were able to spend together. Luna was not looking forward to the distance - but she and Evy would keep in contact with frequent letters and calls. Their relationship had remained stable and strong, mostly because they were both wholly unbothered with making new friends.
"Anything for you, Si," Luna shot back, smirking. The use of his old nickname for her hadn't gone unnoticed. In fact, her face was feeling rather hot. She busied herself with taking a sip of her drink, if only to give another reason for the slight flush to her face. "Thankfully, Evy and I are uninterested in new friends so it just sort of... exists. It works for us. Every time I see her, even if we haven't spoken in days or weeks or even just hours, it feels really natural." Luna shrugged. Once, it had been like that with her sisters. But they'd grown up and apart. "Maybe you should talk to someone about that feeling. Not me. Like a professional someone," said Luna. "I dunno. I don't get that as much, but then again I've never really been alone. Who knew it would just take that to make me less of a raging bitch." She paused. "Well, slightly less, at least."
Luna nodded emphatically as someone from the team stood up to go to the bar and order an arrange of snacks and boards for them to share. How sensible. "I am absolutely so glad I didn't have to go there. To be honest, I probably would have gone to Beauxbatons. That's where Evy went," said Luna. "Why would anyone actually choose Durmstrang? I imagine Selene just wanted to go with her new dark vibes or some rubbish like that," said Luna with a sneer. She still lingered over the sting of words thrust her way by her sister.
With a certain amount of trepidation, Luna asked after Simon's relationship with Claudia. She wasn't actually very interested in the traditional sense, more that she wanted to know where her enemy was staked. Luna donned a mask of surprise when he informed her that they'd split, for now, as it wasn't all that surprising. Claudia did not seem like the sort of person who would tolerate long distance - and come to think of it, nor did Simon. Luna had always thought her intrigue had stemmed from the fact that Claudia was simply something Simon couldn't have. When he had said he'd loved Claudia last spring, well that had thrown Luna for a loop. But it seemed that love had fizzled out.
"I'm sorry," Luna said, not meaning it. "Well, actually I'm not. All that shit she pulled between you and Nate was just... not nice. And that's coming from me," said Luna. She lapsed into silence, staring into her wine glass, at a loss of what else to say on the subject. She had never really liked Claudia. Luna was fairly certain Simon knew that. It wasn't just because of him either - though that was definitely another tick against her. The pair had just never meshed, sort of like how Luna had never meshed with anyone but Evy. She drained her glass and looked up - luckily Chaz was getting another round.
At long last, Luna looked back at Simon. Her grey eyes searched his face, looking for what, she wasn't entirely sure. "You don't have to be alone. You have your team here. We'll be your family. When the times get rough, we'll be here. You need to take care of yourself, Simon," said Luna, her voice solemn. She placed a hand on his forearm and squeezed, making no comment on the warmth she felt spreading from her hand. "I mean it. Not just me. All of us."

The conversation between them was easy but he found himself staring at Luna, lost in thought. He couldn't place if it was admiration or appreciation, but there was something else there. It seemed like she cared about him. The hostility she carried for him their last month of Hogwarts, seemingly gone.
However, Simon wasn't sure how he felt about being honest about how he really felt. Once the words fell from his mouth, he started to feel too vulnerable. A wave of regret washed over him as he slowly watched Luna react. He wasn't sure if he wanted Luna to know all of his business. Then again, that was more of a defense mechanism he had. Like Luna had said, relationships took effort. She was his teammate and they could talk about these things and offer support for each other.
Simon knew she wasn't really sorry about him and Claudia though. When Luna made the comment about what Claudia had done not being nice, he turned to her slightly. He swallowed, taking a moment to say anything because he didn't want to seem defensive. "Yeah, but it wasn't only her. I'm just as guilty as she was in that situation." Simon told her honestly, not trying to defend Claudia like he had used to, but he knew he wasn't innocent either. Simon knew what he was doing and what he had done to Nate was unforgivable, he wasn't sure if their friendship would ever be the same. And honestly, when Simon thought about it, he didn't trust Nate or Claudia for what it was worth.
What Luna had said next had honestly moved him. He wasn't expecting her to be so empathetic about the situation, nor did he realize he needed it until she said those words. Always have been a master of hiding his emotions, he didn't want to hide his gratitude from Luna. Over the past few months she had extended an Olive branch, and more. Simon hesitated to answer, he hoped she couldn't sense it. "I'll be fine." he assured Luna, eyes softening on her. "It just takes time. Thank you, I do appreciate that more than you know. I'm grateful to have you here, Lu. Weird to think how things worked out with us on the same team, really." Simon said with a growing smile he couldn't control as he become hyper aware of her hand on his forearm. The hairs on his neck stood upwards as he melted to her touch, wishing it wouldn't be weird if he touched her back.

Luna waved off Simon's protestations. "Well, yeah. But you were there, so I figured I didn't have to implicate you further. You know you're guilty. I want you to know she's guilty too," Luna explained. It made perfect sense in her head - she didn't need to accuse Simon of being a prick, which she was certain that he already knew. Luna was sure he lived with the guilt of it every day, likely alongside the guilt that he had survived the fire whereas his twin had not. But Luna chose not to mention that, as she didn't think it was necessary to bring it up again.
Turning over a new leaf, Luna reminded Simon that he did have the support of his team if he felt lonely or wrong. They were more than just teammates - they were quickly becoming like a family. She gave his forearm a gentle squeeze before retracting her hand. She was saved from having to say anything else -- or do anything she might regret because Simon was giving her those eyes -- by the new round landing on the table, alongside dishes of chips, wings, sausage rolls, and the like. Luna grimaced. Though she had made a concentrated effort, her relationship with food had still not fully healed. And there wasn't a vegetable in sight. Typical boys. She plucked a chip from the bowl and popped it in her mouth, chewing thoughtfully. Selene had once urged her to see someone about her habits, but Luna had resisted. She hadn't been affected too badly, but she also found herself eating more so that she could maintain energy during the matches and training. Luna continued to pick idly at the chips, wondering how she'd let herself get so wound up in her own head.
"But I want to go out-out," whine Chaz from across the table some time later. Luna looked up, and arched a brow at the chaser. He was pleading with the seeker and the other beater, who seemed to be used to this sort of behaviour. "Can't we go out-out, I want to dance!" Chaz exclaimed, jumping up from his chair and wiggling his hips suggestively. Luna snorted and shared a glance with Simon. "Fine, you insolent child. Let's go to Ollie's we can probably get in since it's fairly early and we've got some lasses," said the third chaser at last, in a tired sort of tone.
Ollie's was a nightclub in Belfast, this much Luna knew. She'd never been, despite being in the city for two months. But if Chaz was the one doing the requesting, Luna knew they were in all sorts of trouble. Chaz saluted the bartender before marching out of the pub, presumably to either urinate, vomit, or a combination of the two. The rest of the team started collecting their belongings, and Luna snatched a few last chips, and offered one to Simon. "For the road, of course," said Luna. "I don't reckon I trust him to apparate, do you?" she added in an undertone. But her question was answered as they donned waterproofs and joined Chaz outside, who had slunk into a deserted alleyway, picked up an old, half-smashed bottle of wine and tapped it with his wand. The bottle glowed blue momentarily. Instinctively, Luna wrapped an arm around Simon's back, shuffling him forward so they could both place a finger on the portkey. With the feeling of a hook behind her navel, the team was jettisoned off to Belfast.
Upon reaching solid ground once again, Luna thought she would be sick. She appeared not to be the only one, as quite a few of the others looked a bit green around the gills. With a pained expression, Luna murmured to Simon "Could do with a menthol now." She hadn't forgotten her dive into hypocrisy, though she'd not indulged since. She ran her fingers through her hair, tugging the elastic from it and letting it hang loose around her shoulders. Chaz led the way to the club, and was miraculously let in despite his obvious inebriation.
The room was dark and filled with flashing lights. The beat thrummed through them all, connecting them like lights on a strand. Luna stopped to look around - she'd never been in a nightclub before. Chaz, naturally, made straight for the bar to order jägerbombs, and Luna knew she would hate them. She shifted, stepping slightly behind Simon so that she was invisible to Chaz, who seemed to have forgotten that there were seven members of a Quidditch team and was dutifully counting their heads. "Fucking hell. This guy must actually be mad," said Luna, peeking around Simon's shoulder to check for the all clear.

Simon was surprised how much better he was starting to feel after talking to Luna. It helped him realize he probably had been isolating himself, social situations took effort, but they also made him feel a bit better. He wasn't alone and that was a great feeling. The corners of his lips lifted upwards as he shared a moment with Luna, unsure of what else to say but it wasn't awkward. As he emptied the contents of his glass, he overheard Chaz complaining about wanting to dance. Simon couldn't remember the last time he had gone to a club, it had been a while. The last time he went to a club was with Nate, when he would lookout for him while he pickpocketed. Not that Nate ever needed a lookout, in those days they were actual best friends. Kind of like how Luna explained her relationship with Evy. A pang nipped at his stomach as he thought about Nate and what he may be doing now.
His eyes searched the room, his teammates seemed to agree with the idea, and he certainly wouldn't be the only one not to show. "That could be fun." Simon agreed, hesitating before looking over at Luna. The jitters of what the night had in store officially setting in. The last time the Bats had an outing, Simon had gotten blinded, he barely made it to practice in time. Well, tonight he didn't have to worry about practice, until later next week. Simon shoved the road chip with a smile, liking the way she thought.
Before he could think twice about the decision, they were in Belfast in front of Ollie's. "Don't you live in Belfast?" Simon asked her knowingly, looking up at the sign above the club that hailed "Ollies". Simon ducked into the club, following the Bats in a line with Luna by his side, wincing when Chaz ordered Jaegerbombs. He already knew he wasn't a fan. "He's a monster." Simon leaned in toward Luna's ear since it was very loud in the nightclub. As he said that, Chaz came over with a devilish grin, bobbing to the music. "We're off until next week. Take it now and you will piss clean." he said, holding out a closed palm to pass them to Simon before slinking off into the crowd with a girl on his arm. Simon turned to face Luna and opened his palm, surprised to be presented with two colored pills. Suddenly he felt suspicious holding drugs in his hand unknowingly, he retracted his hand closed, eyes darting to Luna with a hesitant growing smile. "Chaz just gave us ecstasy." he told her quickly, his tone laced with disbelief but he laughed. Simon didn't think Luna would be down for that, so he had to hide his excitement.

[CW DRUG ABUSE]
After straightening in the alley, still feeling rather wobbly, Luna mentioned how some menthols would do her right. Simon made a comment about how she lived in Belfast, and she looked at him. Luna was silent for a moment as the seed of an idea started to plant itself in her head, but she brushed it away brusquely. "Thank you for reminding me," she replied sarcastically, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear before following the rest of the team inside.
It was clear both to Luna and Simon that Chaz was a loose unit. He seemed to be a rumbling ball of chaotic energy, one that could not be harnessed. Almost like an obscurial - but less deadly. Well, to outsiders, she supposed. Luna wondered mildly what other sorts of poisons Chaz ingested, when she also remembered that the team was regularly drug tested. The aforementioned monster trundled over to the bewildered pair and forced the shots into their heads - Luna cursed under her breath. So Chaz hadn't missed her after all. He then mumbled something to Simon and pressed something into his hand before sauntering off with a leggy brunette.
Luckily, the pair was surrounded by a deepening crowd, all swaying and bopping about to the heavy trance music that played. Simon turned to Luna and she peered into his palm, where two light green pills were sat. He snapped his hand shut once more, looking shifty. Luna leaned forwards so that they were barely a hairs breadth apart, all the better to hear Simon explain that Chaz had sorted him out with ecstasy. "Is that what that is? Not paracetamol to starve off impending hangovers?" said Luna dryly, her eyes flicking to Simon's face. There was excitement there, and Luna felt it too.
Simon laughed, and Luna grinned. She'd always stayed straight laced and mostly behaved at school, since she was so focused on getting scouted for a team. Now, she was on the team, and if her fellow teammates were providing these sorts of substances, they must have gotten away with it in the past. So why not try something new? Why not continue along the line of being a hypocrite? If her body was a temple, Luna had been an awful priestess. From starving herself and pushing herself to her limits, she knew she had to come in with a different mindset. Perhaps this was a way to wipe the slate clean, and totally and fully dispose of the old Luna Trelawney.
Luna looked up and around, and couldn't spot any CCTV cameras near them - they were more pointing towards the bar and the crowd was getting rowdier and rowdier. Luna pressed her body against Simon's and slid her fingers into his warm palm, plucking one of the tiny pills from it. She smirked. "Bottoms up," she whispered, sure that he couldn't hear her over the din, but she surreptitiously popped the pill into her mouth. She closed her eyes briefly as she swallowed, then gave Simon a cheshire cat smile. "I'll get us some drinks," said Luna, sauntering off back to the bar and leaving Simon to his own devices.
Luna approached the bar and ordered two gin and tonics. It seemed like a safer and better option than beer. As she was waiting for them to be passed over to her, someone sidled up to her. She glanced over and glared at Chaz. "Hi," said Luna abruptly. thrown by his sudden silent appearance. "What's going on with you and Svendson?" asked Chaz, tilting his head curiously as he sucked on the neck of his beer bottle. "Er - what? Nothing," said Luna, too quickly. "Oh, don't be so uptight. Anyone with eyes can see you have some sort of shit going on, so tell me," Chaz wheedled. Flushing scarlet, Luna glanced from Chaz to Simon, but he had disappeared in the crowd. She reluctantly turned her attention back to Chaz, who had thankfully lost interest in that line of questioning and was busy being served by another bartender. Luna paid for her drinks and sped off.
"I don't feel anything," said Luna loudly, as she finally found Simon and squeezed past a pair of very fake breasts and was pressed into his side. She passed his drink to him, and sucked on the straw, her eyes wide as she looked up at him. "Am I supposed to?"

[DRUG USE]
There wasn't much time for consideration before Luna was reaching into his hand for her pill and plopping it in her mouth. Simons head cocked to the side,"Woooow." his eyes widened with disbelief as his mouth gaped open, "I remember the old Luna." he laughed out loud, following by placing his own in his mouth and swallowing it.
Simon was left with the bitter taste of pill dust on his tongue as Luna quickly peeled off to the bar. Luckily, his other teammates were about an arm lengths distance bobbing around dancing in the crowd and cheering, so that was a good anchor for him. Simon bobbed around in the crowd, surrounded by bass and flashing lights. He was relieved to see Luna making her way back to him with drinks in hand, stating that she couldn't feel anything yet. Simon took the drink she handed him with an appreciative nod, "You will." Simon promised her, eyes falling down to match her gaze as she looked up at him. "It''ll probably take about 30 minutes until you feel anything." he informed her, mentally taking a final look at her face sober and making a note of it. She looked happy and alert, her hair nicely framing her face.
About an hour had passed and Simon was feeling the full effects of the pill. The waves of euphoria washed over him as everything suddenly seemed heightened and amazing. He found himself easily dancing and vibing out with his teammates on the dance floor. His favorite, obviously, being Luna. As the time slipped past his consciousness, he found himself gravitating closer to the blond and not caring about it.
Simon shimmied toward her rhythmically to the music with a comical smile, "Do you feel it now?" he asked her, stopping in front of her probably too close, but not adjusting his distance. His hand had dropped to the small of her back, daringly remaining in place as he looked at her face. The twinkle in his eye a good indicator that he liked what he was seeing. In that moment he wished that he could reach out and grab her to kiss her.

[drug abuse]
"I don't feel anything."
Those were Luna's famous last words. Simon promised that she would after some time, so Luna instead occupied herself with moving to the beat, dancing with her teammates (yet avoiding the ever lingering Chaz) and suddenly, the music had an almost physical quality to it. Like the notes were little sparkles that landed on her fingers. She waved a hand in front of her face, very slowly admiring the way the music seemed to wrap around her hand and float around her. She wanted to touch things - and she was hyper aware of Simon's hand as it crept around her waist to rest around her back. A tiny voice at the back of her head protested, but she shut it up - this felt strange, and nice. Why would she protest?
Luna closed her eyes, swaying to the music. She ran her fingers through her hair, the silken strands feeling like velvet in her hands. She tilted her head back slightly, a contented smile on her face. Luna realised Simon had stopped dancing, but she didn't want to stop. Her hips kept swaying even as she opened her eyes and marked Simon. He was much closer than she realised. She didn't want him to move away. Her lips parted as she sucked in a breath, eyes wide. "Wooow, your pupils are so big," said Luna with a giggle. "Are mine?" she asked, opening her eyes as wide as they would go.
As Luna stared at Simon, she was keenly aware of the twinkle in his eye. Of the way he kept her close to him, the warm splay of his fingers on her back. Why wasn't he kissing her? She ought to fix that. Luna forgot any inhibition and stepped forwards, closing the distance between herself and Simon, snaking her arm around his neck and drawing him closer, drinking him in like a parched man. Something delicious sparked within her at his taste, his familiarity after all these months apart. Her free hand clutched at his shirt, tugging at him, needing him closer still as the world outside them faded away and everything was Simon.

[DRUG USE]
Luna opened her eyes in a grand display asking if her pupils were enlarged like his. He leaned forward to examine her, quite possibly getting a glimpse into her soul in the process. Nodding, "They're huge." Simon marveled with a wide smile of confirmation as he got lost in her eyes. Luna stepped forward and time suddenly stood still.
Their lips meshed and his hands fell to her waist, pulling her into him as close as possible as the kiss depended fervently. At first the kiss started slow before heightening in urgency. Simon was enjoying every sensation that was coursing through his body, not quite thinking about all of the eyes that were on them. Specifically their teammates who were now getting a laugh from their sudden public display of affection. After a couple of drawn out moments for those watching, Chaz tapped on Simons shoulder, but Simon annoyingly dismissed the tap by stepping toward Luna, refusing to break the mind-blowing snog yet. If he knew who it was, he would have stopped immediately, but alas, Simon was too far gone.
The second shove was a bit harder; more to warn them that people were watching them now. Simon pulled away from Luna breathlessly to see why they were being interrupted during such a glorious tonsil hockey match. His icy saucers dropped on his fellow Chaser, so he had to hide the irritation.
Chaz stood there with a liquor bottle in his hand, "Nothing, huh." he quipped cheekily, directly sending Luna a curious look before disappearing into a sea of people again. He had a way of doing that. Like some Leprechaun demon.
Simon was so blasted by the kiss that he didn't even know what Chaz meant by that. His heart beat wildly in his chest as they detangled from each others arms. "Wow.." he blinked at Luna speechless, "That was amazing." he sighed, tone oozing with desire as he stood there with the taste of Luna lingering on his lips. Fuck, he wanted more. The time for hesitation was long gone as Luna closed the distance between herself and Simon, pressing her lips to his in a way that spoke of the long months of longing. Their bodies were flush, any closer and they would possibly melt into one person. The kiss was urgent, frantic, hands scrabbling and pulling and tongues clashing. Luna’s breath was stolen, her heart hammering to the quixotic beat of the music, her mind quiet. There was nothing but Simon, his warmth, his taste, his chaotic and seductive self devouring her.
When Simon pulled away, Luna made a noise of dissent. But then the world crashed back into being, and she remembered she was in a crowded room, with eyes on her. Luna flushed scarlet, but stood her ground, glaring back at Chaz who commented on their so-called lack of relationship. She narrowed her eyes, following his trajectory as he wandered off. One by one, the rest of the team turned from Simon and Luna, who stood still amongst the pulsating bodies, not looking at one another. Simon finally broke the silence between them, breathlessly observing how amazing that was. Luna’s ego inflated as she replied with a silent, but smug look.
The music overwhelmed Luna again, and even though she was quite keen to continue kissing Simon, a tiny voice in her head encouraged her just to dance. She closed her eyes and tilted her head back, her hands and hips moving with the beat.
It was some time later -- how much, Luna didn’t know -- that someone was pressing against her. It took her a moment to realise the lines of this person’s body was unfamiliar, and she stopped, and turned. Chaz was pressed against her, though not in a predatory way. He had a look on his face that was inquisitive, before he leaned down to speak in her ear. ”I’d keep things like that a little more private, Trelawney,” said Chaz, with much more control than she would have expected from someone like him. Luna began to protest, but Chaz quickly cut her off. ”What you do in your private life is no concern of ours - we’re here to support you in whatever decisions you make. But just make sure you’re thinking things through. Don’t reckon Mickey would approve of open hostilities like in our first practice.” Chaz continued to surprise Luna as he slunk off to rejoin the leggy brunette, who dutifully wrapped herself around Chaz, and left Luna with much to think about.
After making another trip to the bar, this time to grab and drink some water, Luna returned to her place at Simon’s side. She slid her hand into his and rose on her tiptoes to speak into his ear. ”D’you want to go outside?” she asked, then without waiting for his answer led him out into the smoking area. Fanning herself, Luna turned to Simon, her eyes still huge and her mouth feeling rather dry. She took another sip of water, and licked her lips. ”Simon,” she breathed, as if his name were a prayer. Luna stepped forward, her eyes stuck on him. The smoking area was deserted, save for a single couple who were otherwise occupied and their cigarettes forgotten dangling from their hands. Grey eyes met bright blue, and once again, it was like the world was lost. Her free hand reached out to touch Simon’s face, revelling in the way it felt against the pads of her fingertips. Every touch, every emotion was heightened to such a degree that Luna didn’t know if she’d ever be able to consider texture again.
Tilting her head slightly, Luna dropped a slow, lingering kiss to the junction of Simon’s neck and collarbone. She felt his pulse beneath her lips, frantic as her own. Luna remembered the time she’d asked Simon if he would drink her blood, and thought it would be even more dangerous now. She trailed her mouth along the curve of his neck, before shifting away slightly, looking at him from beneath her lashes, her eyes decisive as she appraised him. She wanted him - and she would take him.

[warning]
Simons world was surrounded by euphoria, every touch, and every breath, heightening his high. The kiss they had shared wasn’t easy to tear from but Simon didn’t particularly like the way Chaz looked at him. What the Hell. Did he not partake in the party favors, too? Simon didn’t care, he felt too good to care about anything. It was the first time in a very long time there wasn’t sadness pestering or hiding in the depths. Simon felt free and alive.
Luna led Simon outside to the smokers patio with laced fingers as he was greeted with fresh cool air against his flushed face. The thought of a cigarette was the last thing on his mind. Her hand raised to his face as she said his name. It sounded like a chorus of angels coming from her mouth and somehow it set him at ease. ”Luna,” he echoed after her as his hands ran through her hair and scalp. Simon watched her closely, taking her in with starry eyes as he worshipped each freckle and line of her face.
As Luna kissed his neck and collarbone every inch of his skin became a reciprocal for pleasure. Every touch of her lips and tongue sent him into overdrive, his eyes rolling back with pleasure. Simons hands trailed down her hips and side, fingers dancing under the hem of her shirt to drink in the soft, warm skin on the small of her back.
That stare. That was when it knew it was all game over. He felt himself go weak as his heart exploded in his chest. His hands cupped her face in a moment of passion fueled frustration, ”I need to have you.” he purred without any hint of conviction before diving into another tantalizing, mind melting kiss as their souls connected.

[CW]
The fresh air did nothing to sober Luna up, though she did shiver in the chill that touched her bare, sweaty skin. Goosebumps rose on her arms, but she was too distracted by the way Simon was looking at her, running his fingers through her hair. She closed her eyes for a moment, allowing herself to simply feel, and the shiver from the cold morphed into one of deep pleasure. Luna's lips were on Simon's skin, and his fingers played with the hem of her top, and if they weren't careful they would dive into misdeeds in the middle of the club.
Simon's blatant need spurred Luna on - she forgot what he had said months ago, lost only in this moment. She revelled in the feeling of being wanted, of being needed. As she clung to Simon, their lips and bodies moulded to one another, Luna knew that she would do whatever Simon asked of her tonight. Not only did he need to have her, but she needed to have him.
When Luna was breathless, or long after since she forgot really how to breathe, Luna gave Simon a longing look before pulling him along once more. The club? It didn't matter. Her team? Didn't matter. It wasn't as if these thoughts went through Luna's head as she wound her way through the milling crowd and out the door. She was a woman on a mission, a mission to ride each wave of pleasure and ecstasy until she could feel no more. And so when Luna found a dark alley, she paused only to kiss Simon breathlessly before tightening her grip on his hand and twisting on the spot.
Miraculously whole, Luna and Simon apparated to the darkened lounge of her flat. She didn't give Simon time to look around before her hands were in his hair, drawing him to her once more, drunk on the very taste of him. His name was the only thing she was able to utter as her hands roamed, slipping under the fabric of his shirt and tugging it, breaking the kiss only to rid him of that needless thing, her hands dropping to his waist, snaking around. Luna's nails dug into the muscle of his back, wanting him closer still. She wanted - no, she needed - more and more, and closer wasn't close enough.
