She just….left? That was it? Wait, what was he thinking. It wasn’t like they were anything more than that, right? When Emrys had first met the girl known as Xantha, they hadn’t hit it off. Sure, there was an attraction, a magnetic pull towards her, like he felt with many others. But she wanted him to give in order to receive. Paying, even with food was something that he would never do. Why should he? There were so many more options for him to have to resort to paying for his entertainment in that way. But their friendship grew starting with the second meeting, and what followed was an assortment of random, and not so random, meetings. For a while they were secret agents, meeting in the night for secret rendezvous. Things only grew from there. He had been her first call when she ran into trouble, and he had rushed to her aid. They had even gone on a weekend camping trip when he needed to lay low for a time. Sure, his best friend exposed magic to the girl, but honestly he shouldn’t have had to. Her father had been the one to hold back the secret from her. That was his fault. She didn’t seem to have taken it too well to start off with, but that didn’t mean they missed out on some fun. But he could, somehow, feel her pulling away. More than usual. Or rather, it was more like the beginning, when they knew nothing about each other, and they were only there to satisfy the other’s desires. But lately, they had gotten together, done what they wanted, and then she simply left. Sure, they usually had something going on that made it so that they wouldn’t be able to stay. But it felt different. It felt like she was choosing to pull away. This shouldn’t affect him. He had no commitment. Neither of them committed to anyone. That was the beauty of their relationship! Then why? Why was he feeling this? What was this feeling? It felt like a hollowness in his soul, an emptiness, a void that she had ripped open with her simple act.
Did this mean that Emrys actually had feelings for someone other than his family, or his best friend? No, there was no way. No , it was impossible. How could he, the forever single, loves to party, Emrys Mordrain Holopainen had a reputation to uphold. But why then, did his mind keep drawing towards the girl with blond hair that he had clicked so well with. The girl who agreed that this was nothing more than a fun fling, they were nothing more than friends, with all of the benefits. Could it be possible? No. Absolutely not. But...
Emrys had practically worn a path on the rug he had been pacing. He always thought best when playing music, but as he had tried, only romantic music came to his fingers. What the actual...Emrys couldn’t help but let out a series of unbecoming curswords, using the impressive vocabulary and linguistic skills. He looked at his phone. What to do, what to do? That was the real question. But it really wasn’t much of a question was it? You see, some time back, a good friend of his had gone through a rough break up. And as a good friend, Emrys and he went shopping to help the man through it. Now they didn’t go to malls, or high end clothing stores. He wasn’t one for muggle vehicles, but the men hadn’t done any of those. No, the two celebrities had gone around looking at houses. One such mansion they had found was in Finland. It was up a hill with lots of land. The locals all thought it to be haunted. The building had been perfect. Slapping in some modifications, and giving his interior designer loose on it, and he was golden. By this point it had been finished. Now was the perfect time to break the place in. It was much larger than his current residence, and therefore it would feel so lonely if he went alone. Emrys took some time to furiously text out some messages on his phone. A number of messages went to a number of people. It wouldn’t be long before word got out that there would be a never ending party at his new mansion in Finland. All they would have to do is show up.
Once he was done with sending out his messages, Emrys took one last look at his phone. The name showing clear on the screen. No, he wouldn’t call her. He wasn’t weak. He would prove that he wasn’t. He didn’t need her. He didn’t need anyone. With a breath, he tossed the phone onto his large extravagant bed and was off. Not sure when he would be returning, he ensured that everything was locked down and all the curtains were drawn to protect it from the future coming day. It hadn’t been hard to get to his new place. And when he walked in through the front door, it was evident that this place was ready to go. And even before he had arrived, the crowd had started filling in too.
Music blared, and Emrys drank, and drank. He drank all sorts of alcohol, he drank blood with high alcohol levels, he also drank blood that had more than just alcohol. One could feel the vibration of the music from the first floor three floors up. He shot and inhaled drugs, magical and non magical, most of them not quite legal. But why should the vampiric celebrity care about any of that. He didn’t want to feel, and so he didn’t. Whenever a desire started to peak in, he simply took more of something. The only thing he wanted to feel was his hands on another body. He wanted to feel their hands on him, all over. And as a vampire, and a well known celebrity, there seemed to be no shortage of hands that wanted a piece of him. He took hold of anyone in reach, and would kiss anyone and anything that caught his eye. Ignoring the world. He had no idea what day, or even time it was. It wasn’t hard to avoid the sun, because there were plenty of areas and surfaces with covered windows or with a complete lack of windows. With many of the toys that flocked to him knowing that he was a vampire, they even helped him avoid the light. He didn’t need to think about anything, in fact, he couldn’t think of anything. Even if he wanted to think straight, it wouldn’t have been possible. He had no idea what he had, or was taking. If was offered, he took it, often through someone else. Their blood was pumped with it, and when he no longer was thirsty, they happily transferred smoke and liquid through their mouths. Powders were taken from the surface of one's skin, and it was clear that around the mansion, clothing was clearly only optional. Time was an illusion, and hazed past. The man wouldn’t have been able to tell one entertaining partner from another, most of them choosing to share his time rather than wait their turn. They enjoyed each other on couches, beds, and fur carpet. Even spending time in a hot tub, spa and sauna. There was plenty of fun to be had in the pool as well. This place was a magical wonderland that Emrys had happily fallen into.
