━ if you ain't busy take a walk with me ━ GLAD THEY COULD SHARE MOMENTS of laughter between them, Calliope Fleming almost felt bad for somehow ruining the mood. She hadn't meant to, thinking about her situation with Cara and what they were, but they had been hanging out for a long while, going on dates when they could and other romantic endeavors at other times. As Eli pulled his arm away, the middle Fleming looked up, the hues of her eyes shifting once more as she forced more of her happy feelings and expressions to peek through.
She wanted to smile, to say things were fine and everything would be okay...that was until Eli tugged at her sleeve, pulling her down with him. With a slight groan as she made contact with the ground, Cal swatted at Eli's head before laying comfortably. "Give me some notice in advance you dork!" She complained, grinning as she rested against him, getting more comfortable as their arms looped with one another.
"You sleep on her floor?" Calliope asked, eyes widening as she looked over at her brother. "Are you out of your mind? I've never met this Cordie but I'm..100% sure the two of you are probably perfect for one another." Calliope paused then, smiling up as her eyes looked towards her side, trying to look at Eli somehow. "Let me guess..shes introverted, but speaks up when you're around her?" The name 'Cordie' sounded familiar, but Eli always became close friends with others who weren't so..confident in speaking up.

summer, 2026 ELI JUST SNORTED AS HE WAS OFFERED A SLAP for pulling Calli down, barely even flinching as she settled onto the ground beside him. It was nice, apparently misery did love company and he felt himself relax into the cool tile, the heat from his back warming them gently until he was comfortable, his arm hooked with Calli's. The quiet broke because he couldn't bear it, and there was something about the camaraderie that eased the locked box of his heart.
"I like her floor," Eli defended himself. "She has a really nice rug." It wasn't as if Eli didn't have his own room, which he failed to clarify as he rubbed sleep from the corner of his eye. "Sometimes," He nodded, staring at a damp spot on the kitchen ceiling, somewhere near where they stove sat and steamed too many times a day. "But, I mean... sometimes it's just nice to be quiet... with her." He covered his face again and that swelling bubble of misery doubled in size.
"Calli..." His voice croaked, and he squeezed his eyes shut because he was afraid he might do something really stupid, like cry. "Temp doesn't know I moved out, my job hates me, and- and I don't think dad's good. I don't think he's good at all-" Eli's throat closed completely and he pressed his lips shut to stop the dry sob that caught at the back of his throat. "I can't stand it back there, I can't breathe in that apartment." And he pressed his arm so hard against his face that stars blinked behind his eyes.
