━ are you, a dream or an illusion? ━ late july 2026
THE LAST FEW MONTHS HAD been overly chaotic for Bryelle and even everyone amongst her. Her brothers wedding to that god awful witch Ondina, preparations for her final NEWTs, the fall of Hogwarts and more recently: her own eighteenth birthday. While the youngest Goyle knew she could eventually get over Ondina becoming a Goyle herself, and the betrayal from her brother now that she would actually have to live with her parents - and not beg to stay in his apartment most times - the fall of Hogwarts had somewhat of a larger impact.
It caused such sudden changes for everyone and anyone, but Bryelle felt the students were affected the most. With a small amount of bias added, of course. Considering summer break was only around the corner, it resulted with the Goyle taking her final exams at the Ministry. Despite the fact she passed with flying colours, the fact didn't prove to be useful to her parents. Of course she was rewarded with a congratulations from her brother, the only kind of reassurance she truthfully needed. The result of her sudden hard work also guaranteed her place in the Ministry as a Hit-Witch in training.
In Bryelle's own attempt of getting out to find a place for herself, she tricked convinced her parents into allowing her to have access to whatever savings they conjured for her. The brunette didn't figure it would be much, considering the jobs her two parents had, but the surprise was there once she discovered it. There was enough for an incredibly tiny room but the Goyle knew she didn't do well with confined spaces. So she promised herself by late September she would have a decently sized place herself.
Now that she was eighteen and actually had a decent job lined up for her as the months continued on, Bryelle thought she would spend a day with Renard, and somewhat finally reveal her plans now she had graduated from Hogwarts. For the longest, Bryelle felt this moment was one that she truly never wanted to face, in fear that her brother would hate her choices or criticise her until she changed her mind. Although, the brunette felt like she hand't seen her brother since his wedding - which was ironic in itself.
Waltzing up to his door, Bryelle knocked gently, hoping that Ondina or some random maid that she knew Ondina was bound to hire wouldn't answer.

▲ Married life wasn’t horrid, except for the fact that it was to Ondina. That fact hadn’t changed the weird relationship they already had with one another prior to the papers being signed. The best times were when he forgot she existed, which usually only happened when he was at work or she was off doing whatever it was that she did in her spare time. She’d been odd since the spring time and the destruction of Hogwarts, but who hadn’t? Everything upended just like that. Even he was disturbed by it. Shocked that it happened? Not really. But disturbed that idiots like the Purifiers thought the best course of action was to light a bunch of kids on fire. Murder solved very little in that regard, and killing children only enraged everyone. Had they succeeded in their plot maybe things would have gone differently. But that was neither here nor there, because they were finished. Now it was time for things to go back to the way they had been before, or at least as close to that as possible. Seeing his sister taking her final exams within the Ministry was certainly different. Bryelle had finished exceptionally though, and was working in the hit department. He would have preferred that she did something else, though according to contacts he had there, it seemed to fit her well enough. That career path had never scratched the itch he was looking for in life. But that was why they were different. Today, Bryelle was supposed to be stopping by. They hadn’t really seen each other over the past few months and he was unsure if that was because of work obligations for both of them or because his wife scared the ever living daylights out of most people. Maybe it was a bit of both. Ondina was out for the day though, doing Merlin knew what, and the knock on the door told him that his sister had arrived. Setting down the latest copy of Witch Weekly that had started being delivered to his postbox a few months ago (and probably Ondina’s doing), he crossed his flat and opened the door. “Hey Breeny. She’s not here, if you want to come in for a bit before we leave,” he explained as he stepped to the side to let his sister enter if she wanted to. The only permanent change that had happened to his abode since the arrival of Ondina was the removal of his cat. If he ever felt like having his wife die unexpectedly though, he knew exactly what to reintroduce into their lives… MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

━ are you, a dream or an illusion? ━ AS THE DOOR OPENED, REVEALING her brother, the tight feeling in Bryelle's chest relieved itself. "Okay, great." She replied, knowing that she didn't even need to bring up the devil that was Ondina herself before stepping inside. It felt awkward, seeing all the changes to the flat, especially since the last time Bryelle had been round, Ondina wasn't living here and the cat that Renard once had would have been greeting her by the door. "You know, you should've let me take care of Baron. Especially since I'm moving out soon." She mentioned as she turned slightly to Renard.
Crossing the flat over to the couch, Bryelle took a seat, being careful still and ensured she didn't leave any sort of mess. She felt that Ondina was that kind of wife, the type to pick upon the smallest things, like a hair dropping from the younger Goyle's head or something. But since she wasn't at home, the brunette felt slightly more relaxed. "Is she...Working?" The Gryffindor alum knew that Ondina worked within the International Magical office of Law within the Ministry, but even the name of the position itself seemed boring.

▲ “Sorry,” he responded immediately. Baron had gone to a good home, but he was sure if he asked he could get him back for his sister. Ultimately that would have been a better choice. “She moved in so fast. I had to get him out.” Otherwise Baron would be dead. That was absolutely how that would have went too. Not to say that would have had him backing out of the engagement completely, because he didn’t want his cat dead, but that would have been the final straw. This whole thing was fucked up so he disliked playing what-ifs these days. They only made him realize how stupid he had been. “I can ask to get him back for you? I don’t think they’ll mind too much,” Renard added as they started heading back towards the living room. He honestly didn’t know if Ondina worked at all during the day or if she simply criticized and scoffed at people behind her plastic. It was a great question on Bryelle’s part though. “That or shopping. She thinks she has all of my money,” Renard rolled his eyes. Fat chance. There was still a muggle account he kept secret that no one but him knew about, as well as his half of the Goyle inheritance whenever that came due. What she did with the miniscule amount he kept in the account she was currently ‘playing’ with didn’t bother him at all. That all used to be pissed away at the casino three nights a week. Eventually she would get bored of shopping. Or run out of space. “How’s training going so far?” he asked as he took a seat next to her. Usually that would have invited Baron over as well, but not anymore. “I haven’t been in the office a lot lately, so stopping by to check in has been difficult.” A group of pogrebins had been unleashed through a series of buildings in Knockturn Alley, and he had been picking away at them for going on two weeks now. How anyone there realized they were more depressed than usual was beyond him. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

━ are you, a dream or an illusion? ━ AT HER BROTHER'S ANSWER, BRYELLE'S smile dropped a little. "How could someone hate animals that much.." She muttered to herself as she got more comfortable, playing with a few stray threads on her shirt. As her brother walked towards the living room, mentioning how he could ask for Baron back, Bryelle's eyes lit up while she turned to face him, her arms resting against the back of the couch. "Are you sure it'll be fine?..By September I should have a place..And I'm pretty sure the building owners allow pets too!" While Baron had been Renard's childhood pet, Bryelle always loved giving the cat a quick cuddle here and there.
As Renard rolled his eyes, the younger Goyle snorted, turning back to have a brief overview of Renard's now shared home, and all the differences that had happened since she lasted visited. "You actually share an account with her?" She asked, scoffing at the thought of doing so with her future partner. "I'd rather die than share anything of mine..Like that anyway..With someone like her.." It was no secret that Bryelle wasn't...fond of Ondina. But then again, most people weren't fond of the Weasley anyway.
"Tiring." Bryelle responded honestly to her brother's question, the corners of her lips perking up into a small smile. "It's fine, you don't always have to check up on me..But the thought counts." She added, smiling over at her brother. "It's funny, since..I had no intention of doing something like that in the Ministry...Let alone go through any kind of intense training...But here we are."
Bryelle sighed then, knowing it wasn't the easiest conversation she had with her brother when the younger Goyle initially prepared for her graduation, but considering he didn't seem to mind her career choices, it was relieving in the end. Their parents on the other hand...Were of course quick to reject her choices, claiming she should've picked an 'office-like job' like her brother.
