TRIGGER WARNING cause Fenrir is here.Early October 2026 @fenrir
It had been some time since there had been a death in the Nightshade family. The last had been her brother, Aleksandr in 2024. After his death things had been eerily quiet between the Nightshade grandchildren. But all of them knew it wouldn't last. The "peace" would end. It was merely a question of who would be the victim and who would be the instigator. Though, let's be honest. Things were never "peaceful" between the Nightshades. They'd just simply not managed to kill once another for a time.
Rose had felt the storm brewing many months ago. When she heard the rumors about what her half siblings and cousins were up to she knew the ice was about to break. And she would not be the victim. Those that didn't know Rose well thought she was simply uninterested in family affairs. But their grandfather knew better. He heard the viciously sweet words she whispered in her family members' ears. Turning them on each other, manipulating them to destroy someone else, and likely themselves in the process. Somehow always convincing her family members to do her dirty work for her so that she didn't have to raise her own hand.
Stella, her cousin, had always been an ambitious girl. Far to ambitious at times, and reckless. But she'd lived this long for a reason. Knowing Fenrir would need a test subject for his mad concoctions, and was no doubt getting a little twitchy from not killing a family member in quite some time, Rose started to spread the whispers of over confidence.
"Grandfather just doesn't see your potential, you need to show him what you're really capable of."
"Why would Grandfather ever favor that psychopath over you? You just need to show him how much better you are and he'll have to give you Fenrir's place."
"Just think how much respect you'd gain if you took out Fenrir? Even Pyotr would show you respect."
Those seeds spread like wild fire in Rose's cousin, convincing the girl to break the silence and begin making her moves. Rose, of course, knew how this would end. Fenrir hated his position being threatened. He didn't care about the competition for next head of the family, but you'd better watch your back if you ever tried to take his place among the favorites.
And, as Rose had predicted, Fenrir responded to Stella's threat with a ruthlessness that only a blood thirsty pyschopath would. And Rose had been summoned home for the funeral. If you could really call it a funeral. It wasn't like most of them mourned the death. They'd all been taught at a young age to not get attached to their relatives.
After the day's long events, Rose sat alone in a parlor on the second floor of the family mansion. One that was just for family members and no guests. It was one of their Grandfather's "safe zones", though that was only because his young mistress had personally decorated the space and thrown quite the tantrum when a fight had broken out in the room several years ago. Since then a suit of armor had been moved into the room, to make sure the grandchildren played nice. Rose leaned back into the couch, one leg crossed over the other as she held an empty glass in loose fingers, having already finished her drink. Her hard and icy gaze was focused on the suit of armor that hadn't moved in at least a year, as far as she knew. You could tell by the cobwebs behind it. The employees of the family had never much cared to properly clean most of the mansion. They only "properly" cleaned rooms her grandfather deemed important.
It was then that she heard the door open and her gaze flickered to it to see who'd entered. Ah, Fenrir. The family psycho. With his little pet close behind. Rose didn't bother sitting up properly. She was quite comfortable as she lounged on the couch.

TRIGGER WARNING Death in the Nightshade family was regular. It reminded most everyone involved that life was temporary and everyone was expendable. Those who were on top, could easily fall, if they weren't too careful. Two years between deaths wasn't bad. But it was about time for one. The only true question was who? Some preferred to steer that in a favorable direction, while Fenrir let the chaos roll. He wasn't one who enjoyed being manipulated, but he did enjoy carnage, and wouldn't mind teaming up with someone, provided it was clear that he made no promises. Rose was obviously one who enjoyed her whispers.
Stella had always been ambitious, but dumb. She clearly didn't think things through, and allowed herself to be easily swayed. She knew how to survive, but that was as long as she stayed in her place - in the family order that was. It was no coincidence that she decided to try to take his spot just as he was finishing some abomination of a poison. It had also been a while since he had killed a Nightshade or even a servant. In a way, he had been good. But that did make him a bit hungry for blood.
It wasn't long until the stupid cousin decided to try to take him out. That just wasn't allowed. He wasn't one to be messed with, and proved that regularly. Out of all the Nightshades, he was known as the crazy one. That was saying something. He enjoyed his position near the top of the favorites. It was clear that everyone hoped that Fenrir would never be the head of the house, even he didn't want it, but heaven help you if you tried to take his place. Fenrir loved where he was at, and wouldn't give that up for anything. Stella had tried to take him out, and so she had to pay. And he didn't just test his new poison on her. That would be too kind.
After she was found dead, a funeral was planned, and the plot in the family crypt was made ready. With that, every family member was called to the main house for the service. No matter how far they were or what they were doing, they were to come. The family didn't gather to mourn, no one truly cared when one died. Sure, some people felt more than Fenrir did. By the thrashed way the body was found, it was clear to everyone who had done it. Though he didn't feel the need to boast. he had had his fun, and his poison had worked out well. Monitoring how it affected the human body was reward enough. Seeing the pain, and the concoction destroy her slowly was great. Though he did have a few ideas of how he can change it.
The events of the day had wrapped up and most everyone went of about their own business. Fenrir acquired what he needed, and by acquired, he meant received. Meredith ran all of his errands and did practically everything for him. He managed his way through the mansion with ease. It was the closest thing to home that he had ever felt. It wasn't a home unless you were always looking over your shoulder right?
He entered the safe zone parlor that had been decorated by "mom" the woman who was old enough to be the mother of most of the grandchildren, but was the mistress of the patriarch, their grandfather. He didn't go into this room very often, but he had a reason this time. Inside the room was his half sister, elegantly sitting on one of the couches. He didn't say a word, as he plopped down across from her, setting down two shot glasses and pouring some vodka into each of them.
"Your cunningness brought us all here today Rose." He stated as he slid one of the glasses towards her. Normally Fenrir didn't drink a lot, but a few shots of vodka wouldn't turn him into an unhinged psycho killer. "This is your victory. Well, a bit. Mostly mine. We both know I did the fun part." He lifted his drink and raised it for her to toast with him. A conspiratorially villainous look on his face.

TRIGGER WARNING cause Fenrir is here.Early October 2026 @fenrir
Normally, Rose would never trust a drink served by Fenrir. Or most drinks prepared by anyone in this household. Poison was a more "sophisticated" murder tool, so it was a common one inside the manor. Plus, it could also lay in wait for long periods. There were two reasons why she would accept the shot prepared by her half brother today though. The first being that they were currently in the safe zone. He wouldn't dare attempt something in here (well, he might. It wouldn't surprise her. BUt he wouldn't make it out if he tried). The second being that he'd used the bottle she'd brought in here. Unless he'd master sleight of hands since she'd last seen him, there wasn't any way he could have poisoned it.
Rose set the empty glass she'd been loosely holding onto on a side table and leaned forward to take the offered shot glass. Her gaze lazily glossed over the glass, then settled on Fenrir. Of course Fenrir had noticed her meddling. His toast was met with just a blank stare, but she followed the motion after a moment and downed the shot in one gulp. As the vodka burned the back of her throat she leaned forward to set the shot glass on the coffee table once more. "All I did was speed up the timelines. We both know it was only a matter of time before her ambitions got the better of her. Better to deal with the problem now then down the road," was her cold response. "There were also some rumors that you might need a test subject soon. So why not have one walk right to you?"

TRIGGER WARNING Poison was always an option for killing a Nightshade. Being one who loves to experiment and create new poisons, Fenrir knew that all too well. Though he had worked hard to build immunity to what he could. He didn't fear the drink he poured. The safe zone guaranteed that that no harm would come to either of them without the other being attacked by the enchanted suit of armor. If he were to try something in a room such as this, he wouldn't be stupid enough to hang around. He was also confident that the bottle was safe, it being one already in the room, and Rose hadn't been made aware of his appearance. Though it would be interesting to watch the armor take her down if the bottle she brought in here had poisoned him. Perhaps an experiment to try another time.
Fenrir gave a toast, though his half sister seemed unamused. But she still toasted back and drank the shot. The vodka burn felt invigorating. It as as if the liquid had seeped into a key hole, enough saturation, and some monster would be unchained. But there were two people and one object in the room that would ensure that didn't happen now. Rose placed the shot glass on the coffee table, but Fenrir remained reclined, holding the glass between his fingers.
The woman was clearly not wanting to take any credit in helping bring the family together. "That b*tch should have known better." He chuckled, reminiscing the enjoyment he had. Pain was always invigorating to watch. Seeing a face contort from terror to agony brought such bliss. "Always keeping your ear to the ground I see. What, you're not interested in trying my new abomination?" He winked, with a wicked grin. "It's flavor is the real kicker." He laughed.

TRIGGER WARNING cause Fenrir is here.Early October 2026 @fenrir
Rose leaned forward to pour herself another shot. She'd never openly admit it but she definitely was an alcoholic. Her tolerance was high, and she never drank enough to inhibit her senses or motor skills. But very rarely was she without at least enough of a buzz to numb her emotions. She felt no urge to break the habit, however. Nor any of her other bad habits that were used to cope with the hellish existence she called life. Not was she ashamed of them either. Who cared if she drank too much or took other substances? IT wasn't like there was anyone around that cared. So, she down the second shot before setting the shot glass down and leaned back into the expensive couch. She wasn't the most fond of the room, due to it's very light colors. But it was at least a safe spot to relax without that familiar feeling of the hair at the back of her neck on end. You could never truly relax in this house, except in this lounge.
Rose would never call herself close to any of her half siblings or cousins, so she felt little remorse for the other girl's death. Even if she hadn't been involved she wouldn't have felt anything. It was a family of no attachments. Those that let themselves care would only get hurt. So it was better to not care at all. "If she had she wouldn't have been so easily persuaded," she answered coolly.
She brushed her hair over to one shoulder, running her fingers through her blonde hair as she listened to Fenrir's tease. She closed her eyes, unbothered by the psychotic offer. "No thank you, I'm on a diet," she answered with the slightest sarcastic tone, opening her eyes and focusing on him. He didn't scare her like he did some of the others. But that didn't mean she was stupid enough to take him head on. No, she knew he'd win if it came to it. While they might lash out at each other from time to time Fenrir could kill her if he actually tried.
