Late June 2026 Having returned to Holopainen-Rosier Records to meet with Charlotta, Camila was surprised to find that the same girl who had been working at the reception desk when she had been in there previously was no longer there. She couldn't say that she was surprised; the girl's attitude towards her had been bordering on rude, and she had to wonder if perhaps she had gotten fired. (Although curious, she wasn't about to create any drama by asking.) The receptionist, she noticed, looked older and seemed to carry herself more professionally—the way she had expected the first time around.
Camila approached the desk with a smile, relieved to know that she probably wouldn't have to leave a note at the desk and hope that Charlotta would come across it again. Once had been enough for that, she thought. Maybe the different receptionist was a good omen for her meeting, too. (She would be less stressed going into the meeting with Charlotta, at least, and she had informed Bernhard about where she would be so that he wouldn't freak out on her like the last time she'd visited the record label. Things were really looking up.)
She waited for a moment at the desk until she could tell that the new receptionist was no longer busy, and it was at that point that she spoke. "Hello," she greeted the receptionist brightly. "My name is Camila. I have a three o'clock meeting with Charlotta."

▲ Despite acting roles being more frequent over the past half a year, they weren’t coming in as frequently as Yi-seul had hoped they would. That was why she was still working at the record label, managing to get auditions around her work schedule. Her agent - which she hesitated to even use that descriptor, since she was finding more gigs than they were (and on her own at that!) – supposedly had something for the following weekend. It was a low budget graduate student film, offering two days’ worth of pay, though she had no clue what the movie was even about based on the blurb that had been given to her. These sorts of things were thrown at her often, mostly because her agent was of the opinion that taking everything was better than turning roles down. She could sort of see the reasoning behind that, but she also didn’t want her name attached to a student film that looked like they were just trying to get a passing grade. There wasn’t much substance for her in that. The only way she would go back to that now was if WADA students asked, because that was the least she could do for her alma mater. That very tiny tagline with the audition information was sitting in front of her at the reception desk at the record label, though with how busy it had been all morning, she hadn’t really had time to mull over it fully. At least two separate calendars had been stacked on top of it, as well as a handful of guest passes that were supposed to be handed out throughout the day. The name that was the most intriguing to her on the calendar though was one that anyone with any interest in music knew by now: Camila Calderón. There were a lot of famous musicians that wandered in and out of HR Records on a daily basis, and while Yi-seul had found herself almost numb to such an occurrence, Camila Calderón was different. She actually listened to this artist, as opposed to the rock bands and more niche magical musicians. With how busy the afternoon was shaping up to be though, she had lost track of time. Camila was supposed to have a meeting at three, but a couple lengthy conversations with some producers and a chat with the nice American boy that was signed to one of the bands later, and Yi-seul had no idea where she was in the schedule. Looking up from her desk after crossing the producers off her list, she saw the next person in line. Her brain practically short-circuited for a moment, as she instantly knew this was the Camila Calderón in the flesh. A fuzzy buzz reverberated in her brain as the musician greeted her and stated that she had a meeting with Charlotta at three. Yi-seul nodded her head slowly as she looked down at her calendar, right where she knew Camila’s name would be, and tapped it with her finger. Right! She was supposed to be doing work right now, not freaking out! “You do!” she stated rather excitedly. “Let me just get your uhhh…visitor pass,” Yi-seul added, forgetting what it was that she was doing again. It didn’t help that as she reached for the printed out pass on the stack of other guest passes, she completely flubbed her attempt at picking it up and knocked the entire pile onto the ground on the side of her desk. Being star struck was the real deal, apparently. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Late June 2026 The new receptionist looked slightly distracted at first but looked down and seemed to realize that, indeed, she had a three o'clock appointment with Charlotta. She wasn't left standing there for any awkward length of time or anything like that, so it wasn't bad. It was probably just a busy day or something, and that was totally excusable.
"You do!" came her answer. She was obviously more agreeable than the other receptionist. She hesitated a little as she mentioned that she needed to get her visitor pass, and Camila nodded. The other receptionist hadn't mentioned anything about that, but that was probably on her. She understood its purpose, and she guessed that there was always a chance that someone might not recognize her and wonder what in the world she was doing there… but hopefully she wouldn't get turned around for that to be necessary.
Camila didn't have much time to dwell on that, though, as she watched—practically in slow motion—as the stack of papers that the receptionist was looking through fell to the floor. Without even thinking about the fact that she was the celebrity there or that she easily could have pulled out her wand to make it faster, she let out a small squeak and then stepped to the side of the desk to assist the receptionist in picking up the fallen papers. "Ay," she started in her surprise at what had happened. "Here." Kneeling down, she went to work stacking as much as she could to make it easier on the receptionist.

▲ Yi-seul was mentally cursing herself in every language she knew as she watched the pile of paperwork and visitor passes spill all over the floor. The brief moment of slow motion where it hit and then shot in every possible direction was horrifying, especially with it happening in front of Camila Calderón. Talk about being stupidly clumsy at the absolute worst moment. She hadn’t even acted this ridiculous when she had the role as a receptionist at a record label in Singing Story. She was positive that she couldn’t even purposely act something like this out if she wanted to, because there was no way it would ever look natural. The fact that real life was turning out to be more ridiculous than that was absolutely baffling to her as she watched half of her desk scatter across the ground. Camila seemed to be on top of it though, and the second wave of horror ripped through Yi-seul: she couldn’t let a pop sensation and guest help her pick up after her mistake! That was like, the biggest inconvenience in the world. Especially with the singer having a meeting with Charlotta right after this. She had always been confident in her job, but Camila probably had sway that no other recording artist had right now. “No, no. It’s fine,” she said quickly as she watched the other woman start putting things into a stack. “I can’t have you worrying over something like this.” Yi-seul swept up as much of the paperwork as she could, forcing it into a haphazard pile, sheets sticking every which way and visitor passes wedged between individual slices. This was a papercut waiting to happen if she wasn’t careful, though even worse would be if Camila got one. Magic could fix it instantly, but her frazzled thought process wasn’t capable of that in the moment. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Late June 2026 As she tried to be of assistance to her with the fallen stack of papers, the receptionist told her that it was fine, saying that she didn't want her to worry about something like that. At least from what she said, Camila thought that she was making it sound as though it were some big catastrophe. She didn't mind helping her out, and her being a famous singer didn't change her ability to grab a few papers off the floor where she could. She didn't want to interfere too much, though, especially if any of the documents were things that she wasn't meant to see.
Backing off a little, Camila stood back up again. She wasn't going to argue with the receptionist. It was too trivial a thing to get angry with her over it, and so she let her finish up gathering up the papers back into a stack. "It's okay," she reassured her regardless. "It was an accident," and things happened; she wasn't being made to sit there and do her job for her. Really, the receptionist should have seen what she was like while trying to master choreography nearly every time she had a performance! She certainly wasn't perfect.

▲ Swiping up the papers furthest from her desk in a speed that was almost unnatural for her, Yi-seul managed to get everything back into a pile after a half-minute or so. Calling it a pile was being nice, as its condition hadn’t improved throughout her hurried collection of them. There were a few packets in there that had been paper clipped together, and she was positive that they had come undone and were now separated from one another. Getting them back into order after she got Camila situated was her first order of business, because the afternoon was full of producers and other important people. Not that Camila wasn’t important at all. The mere thought of calling one of the biggest magical music sensations in the world unimportant had her sweating as she returned to her desk and gently set her new stack of papers as far away from the edge as possible. Cleaning that up again during this interaction was not going to bode well. Then it made her look clumsy. “Okay…” she said, the exasperation of the cleanup leaving her briefly. It only came back the second she looked up to see Camila standing on the other side of the reception desk, reminding her that the singer was still waiting on the visitor pass. “Visitor pass, right?” Yi-seul said out loud, more to talk herself through what she was supposed to be doing instead of it being a question for Camila. A couple clicks in her computer and she confirmed that the meeting was indeed at three o’clock with Charlotta, though she didn’t recall seeing the last person leave yet. Merlin, hopefully that wasn’t running over. This was Camila after all! Finally finding the singer’s pass, Yi-seul set it on the front of the reception area along with a sign-in sheet. She wasn’t sure why they had this, and had neglected to ask about it over the past year of working at the record label, but rules were rules. All guests had to sign in. “I’ll just need your signature, today’s date, and the time on that,” she explained. “And I’ll call up to see if Charlotta is ready.”MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Late June 2026 Camila felt terrible for the secretary, who seemed much more agreeable than the other secretary with whom she'd dealt at Holopainen-Rosier Records. She understood that it was probably a little bit awkward to have a singer who wasn't even signed to the label helping to get paperwork back where it belonged. It was sort of painful for her to have to watch as the secretary did it herself, though, when she knew that she could have helped. Camila really hoped that that hiccup wasn't going to set the secretary behind for the rest of that day.
She continued to wait as the secretary got back to what she had been doing before everything had fallen. It was no problem, but it was always difficult to get other people to believe that she wasn't going to freak out if things didn't happen at the precise second for which they were scheduled to happen.
"Visitor pass, right?"
Smiling a little, Camila nodded as the secretary used her computer to check something. The way she was hurrying, Camila could tell that she was worried about ending up with a diva on her hands.
It really didn't take long at all for the secretary to find a copy of the paperwork that she'd been looking for from the start. There was the pass, and then there was also a sign-in sheet. "I'll just need your signature, today's date, and the time on that." Again, no problem at all. "And I'll call up to see if Charlotta is ready."
"Perfect. Thank you," Camila replied. She pulled a self-inking quill from her purse and checked the time on her phone, then she filled out the information that the secretary needed from her. After signing her name where indicated, Camila looked back up and over to the secretary. "Sorry… What is your name?" she asked curiously. She hadn't caught it.

▲ Divine. That was sort of the only way Yi-seul could explain what talking to Camila Calderón was like. And that the singer was perfectly pleasant in every sense of the word. That most likely came with the celebrity experience. While she had dipped her toes into that sort of thing a bit herself, there was literally no way to compare the moderate success of a k-drama outside of Korea to being a worldwide pop idol sensation, and in her own opinion, musical genius. There had been other actors she'd worked with that were on similar standing to Camila in that regard, but Yi-seul had to block her excitement out then because she was expected to follow in line. That was the only way to make a name for herself in acting. Technically she was doing it again right now - bottling it all up inside and smothering the hundreds of questions she had for the singer. Having an appointment with Charlotta meant only a few different things when an artist was outside of the label. Certainly that could mean HR Records was trying to get a deal going. Or maybe her boss was an old friend of the singer. That wasn't any of her business until it was part of the record label's. Watching Camila finish filling out the sign-in sheet, Yi-seul slid it off to the side for whoever the next person on the schedule was. She actually couldn't remember, her brain now completely full of Camila. "Mine?" she asked dumbly. Merlin she was an idiot. Recovering quickly from her bewildered, star-struck state didn't help her at all either. "Oh...umm, Yi-seul." Her answer, while correct, came out slower so that her pronunciation could be heard better. There had been a debate at one point with her agent on whether or not she should pick an English name to try and reach a larger audience. Her opinion was that it wouldn't matter until she had more roles and that it was a bit presumptuous to pick a stage name when she was a nobody still. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Late June 2026 "Mine?"
The receptionist seemed taken aback that she had asked her her name. Camila knew that it sometimes shocked people when she asked them something so simple, probably because they didn't think that a celebrity would want to know or care, but she found it sort of disheartening that a receptionist who probably saw her fair share of musicians—including many people Camila knew—would be surprised by her question. Was it that she came across in the media as too much of a "diva" anymore, or was it that others couldn't be bothered to chat with someone whom they viewed as being "below" them? Maybe it was a combination of the two.
Whatever the reason was, it didn't matter. The receptionist gave her name, though Camila wasn't sure that she would know how to spell it if asked.
"Yi-seul," Camila repeated, hoping that her pronunciation had been close enough to what the receptionist had said for her to know that she wasn't trying to butcher it on purpose. "That is very pretty," she complimented her with another smile. "It is Chinese?" There were Asians in South America, and especially Brazilians of Japanese descent, but she didn't recognize the name as being Japanese.

▲ Her name wasn't impossible to pronounce by any means, especially once she walked people through it. But there had been. a number of times over the years, specifically since she started school, where she wished she had taken up a nickname. And now that she was sort of an actor? That would have helped with promotion so much more. There were a million Koreans named Park. Outside of the k-drama industry, she would run into the same issue with her name since the average person didn't spend time trying to learn the pronunciation of Korean names. There was also the problem where she was confused for being of a different ethnicity, like with how Camila was asking her if she was Chinese, but she couldn't really blame the singer for not knowing. She had found that showing someone how the names were spelled usually helped if they didn't know the difference between say, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. "Korean," she replied back quietly. Having someone so famous being nice to her like this was stressful. A few years ago she probably would have called it intimidating. But having a one on one conversation like this, while brief, was not something she had anticipated when she took on this job. Her brain could reason bumping into celebrities when it came to acting gigs, but not this. "I listened to Dueling Hearts on repeat during my graduate studies," Yi-seul added. WADA wasn't technically a graduate school in the literal sense, but it was easier to explain it to people with that kind of definition. Her 'singing', which she hesitated to even call it that, was nothing compared to some of her classmates back then. "We would get yelled at by the instructors for having it on repeat instead of working." A small laugh bubbled out of her as she remembered at least a few different occasions where they were supposed to be learning lines or getting into costume for a dress rehearsal, and Dueling Hearts was blasting louder than it should have been. Late June 2026 So she had been wrong about the receptionist's background, Camila thought to herself as she was informed that the young woman was not Chinese; she was Korean. Hearing how quietly the receptionist answered her, though, Camila offered her an apologetic smile. She hoped that she hadn't offended her and hadn't meant to. It didn't seem that she had, however, because the receptionist told her that she had listened to "Dueling Hearts", one of her songs, on repeat during her graduate studies. Unfortunately, the receptionist added that she and her classmates would get yelled at for having the song on repeat.
Camila, amused but a little bit embarrassed that she had gotten strangers even older than she was in trouble with their instructors, shook her head and laughed. "Wow!" she replied to Yi-seul with a gasp, truly amazed by what she had heard from her. "…In Korea? Or here?" Camila knew that her music was popular, but she hadn't expected that her debut album had gotten that much attention in that part of the world. Most of her popularity had been in the Americas and had then spread to Europe… Maybe it wasn't so far-fetched that her earlier music had become a hit in Asia? At the same time, Camila wondered why it sounded so shocking. She wasn't oblivious to the existence of the internet—magical and non-magical—and used it herself. Korean music had become much more common outside of Korea; why wouldn't her music have found its way to Korea, too?

▲ She should have remembered that such a thing as graduate studies wasn’t the norm for the magical community. For those that decided to go the non-magical route for a career it certainly made sense, but a lot just entered the work force immediately. The same probably would have happened for her as well if there hadn’t been pressure from her parents to do something a little further than just Mahoutokoro. Whether or not they were happy with the route she had decided to follow in life so far was sort of up for interpretation. The ratings for Singing Story had certainly helped her case, but the lack of jobs since was definitely hard to explain to them. Working here was perfectly fine with her though, and eventually her agent would find more gigs. “At WADA,” Yi-seul responded. Immediately she realized that maybe the acronym wasn’t the best way to explain to the musician, and she filled in the blanks instantly, in the off chance Camila didn’t know what that was. “The uhh Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts. It’s located here in London, and focuses on theater mostly, but it’s also the best education for anyone that wants to get into acting or performing after they graduate.” Grueling at times and definitely not for the weak of heart, WADA had been an experience for sure. The fact that they had been blasting Dueling Hearts virtually all day when not training spoke to the quality of the musician. Even the other singers at WADA acknowledged that. “I think it was either a demo or radio version…” Yi-seul mused as she tried to remember. Those sorts of things got changed all the time, and it wasn’t like magical folk were the best at finding the most recent copies of anything remotely technological. At least younger people were sort of decent at it. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Late June 2026 Camila nodded as Yi-seul explained to her about the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts, or WADA. She knew of WADA, but she had no experience of her own with the academy. It was more for acting than for singing, as Yi-seul also stated. Besides, she hadn't completed her studies at Castelobruxo to go on to study any form of higher education. Her career had started before that point, but perhaps she would have gone that route if she hadn't dropped out of school to become a professional singer.
"I think it was either a demo or radio version…"
Things like that got leaked pretty often anyway, and Camila wasn't actually that bothered by it. Maybe it should have worried her more, but she wasn't in the industry for the money. If she lost out on some Galleons because people liked her music that much, then she was still doing what she loved.
"I am happy that you like it," Camila smiled. "It's a good song." It was her song, so she was probably biased. Even the more commercial songs with lyrics that she had barely touched herself were special to her because they were hers. "Do you sing?"

▲ A good song? Camila wasn't just insanely talented but also ridiculously humble. After having worked at the record label for a year now, and in her other career acting, that was a rare personality to come by. Yi-seul had seen what happened to people once they achieved fame, and it had the chance of being ridiculously ugly. The singer, at least outwardly, had decided to go in the opposite direction. It was refreshing to see. "Its an excellent song. I think if the magi-phones existed back then, there would have been a lot of covers done. Like how muggles do on their social media apps." Especially out of WADA. There had been a number of classmates that were famous on TikTok for the singing duets or whatever. That had never specifically appealed to her, as it took her completely out of her comfort zone. Having an invisible audience was so much worse with singing than acting for some reason, and she'd never been able to put it into words correctly. "Not professionally, no," Yi-seul responded meekly. She was trained, as all WADA students were, but definitely nowhere near the top of her class. "WADA trains it's students in all aspects, so singing, dancing, acting...but very few are triple-threats," she explained. "My strength is acting. But I work here between jobs." Merlin, hopefully she wasn't over sharing. Camila seemed interested though, or rather didn't give a sign that she was bored of the conversation. The fact that her usual excited personality had been lowered because of the star's appearance was fascinating. "But nothing you would've seen...just a small k-drama..." And look who was being humble now. Singing Story most certainly hadn't been small and it was her first show where she had a multi-episode appearance. That was bound to mean something and eventually it would get her more important roles. At least according to her agent, that was how it would work. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
