November 2026It had been a particularly uneventful week at Durmstrang. Selene was starting to finally get adjusted at the new school and she was satisfied. She was one of the twins here and one of the small number that had transferred to Durmstrang over Beauxbatons. She was starting to see sense in the improvement of being a twin over a triplet, much like her former sister had suggested. She'd had a point then.
However, as the mail arrived in the morning, she'd found herself receiving a letter with familiar handwriting. For a moment, she sat quietly, looking at the letter. One of her new friends scooted over. "Who's writing?" She asked, her eyes glittering. Selene just gave her a bit of a bored an annoyed look. "Nobody important. Now have you managed to finish your breakfast? Or we'll be late for class." She said a bit snippily. Her friend simply shrugged. "I never eat too much before Dark Arts. It makes my stomach churn at least half the time and I don't want to vomit." She complained easily and Selene just rolled her eyes. "Maybe less bacon will help." She suggested as she got up from her seat.
Her friend also stood up and the two grabbed their bags. The letter was still in hand, mostly because Selene wasn't about to make it a known fact in the school that she had somebody in the outside world that felt a need to apologise in the least convincing manner possible. Some people were overly nosy. "Okay, so do you think we'll have another potions related lecture or fingers crosses for some good curses?" Her friend asked her, eyes twinkling with excitment that would probably seem rather misplaced to anybody else. Selene rolled her eyes as they walked by a fireplace. She tossed the unopened letter into the flames. As she watched it take on the fire she shrugged. "I don't know. A class about fiendfyre might prove interesting." She said, tearing her eyes away from the burning parchment as they left the breakfast behind them. "I've seen some of the effects first hand." She reminded her friend, leading to a very uncomfortable giggle. Selene still wasn't sure why the ditzy girl had even signed on the for the class. Family pressure, probably.
LUNA LACHESIS TRELAWNEY - for reference.
