▲ "There really is not much here..." Fae wondered allowed as she stared at the section of the museum solely dedicated to Merlin. Despite saying that, it was still more than what she'd found thus far. Although it was strange that they had a pair of what looked to be sleeping undergarments that once belonged to him on display. The staff did not react when she held it in front of the glass, so obviously those weren't magical at all. There were other articles of clothing too, or partial ones at least, though they were all threadbare and had seen better days. Even a frayed sleeve of his supposed favorite cloak. She found that of particular interest, only because it seemed like the moon and star pattern on it still looked as if it glinted on its own. Once again, nothing inherently magical. Fae paced back and forth in front of the display, reading the placards over and over again, hoping at some point one would just change and give her new information. Obviously it didn't work that way. She'd almost forgotten that she had a museum employee assisting her, until she looked up and saw the girl's reflection in the glass case. "Kaylee Mahi'ai," Fae stated abruptly as she spun around to face her. "Is there anything else the museum may have? Like Merlin being mentioned elsewhere?" The place was named after the warlock and yet this was all they had on him. The staff was more important than anything she'd witnessed today, unfortunately. The echoing sound of a group of footsteps was getting closer as she craned her neck to see if that was the tour group she was supposed to be with. They weren't in sight yet, but they were making their way here. Her guard was going to be so upset. At this point, it was kind of funny. "Or do you know if maybe somewhere not here that would have more knowledge on him?" MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

July 2, 2026 It was a little disappointing for Kaylee that she couldn't do more to be of help to the High Druid, but she also couldn't suddenly come up with more of interest as far as the museum's collections on Merlin. If they had anything in the archives that wasn't on display at that moment, she wasn't aware of it. She could check with someone higher up than she was, but then there was the whole aspect of arranging for Fae to see whatever was there—if it did exist—and so on and so forth.
She waited quietly in the background while Fae looked at what was available, but she couldn't help jumping in shock when Fae addressed her using both her first and last names. "Kaylee Mahi'ai. Is there anything else the museum may have? Like Merlin being mentioned elsewhere?"
Merlin was mentioned frequently, given the museum's name, but they were standing right in front of what was most likely to be of use, Kaylee thought. The High Druid then asked if she knew of somewhere else that wasn't there—so not the museum at all, Kaylee assumed—where she could find more information on him.
"Um, I can check with some of the other archivists for you," she answered, since that seemed like the best option she had available to her. "And I'm sure there's probably some historian who, like, specializes in Merlin." Merlin wasn't exactly an obscure historical figure; Kaylee just didn't know in which direction to point Fae off the top of her head.

▲ Frustrating was one way to describe how she felt about the fact that this was all the museum had on Merlin. To name such an establishment after him and then have nothing of importance? The staff she currently held in her hand was infinitely more influential on Merlin's history than anything in the glass cabinets she'd been staring at. Fae let out a long sigh as she read the paragraph on Merlin's favorite pair of socks for what had to be the tenth time. If anything, she had learned that in all of his wisdom he was actually a bit of an odd duck. That seemed to be fairly common with the more inquisitive sort, a trend she had noticed with the herbologists and magizoologists that frequently traveled to Hy-Brasil to study the flora and fauna. "I will leave you my contact information then," Fae stated as she started to dig through her bag to find her notepad she brought with her everywhere. The pen that was stuck to it was a gift from one of the previous Ministers, and she enjoyed how it contained its own ink. That was so much easier than carrying around a quill and ink well with her everywhere. Supposedly it would run out one day, but it had yet to happen. Finding what she needed, she scribbled down the forwarding address of the post office in Boudicca's Grace and handed it over to Kaylee. The footsteps she had heard approaching only moments earlier did end up being the group Fae had started with. She could already spot her guard's head hovering over the other's, having spotted her. The look he gave was one of exhausted disappointment than anything else. It wasn't like she couldn't handle herself. The staff alone contained enough magical power that she felt weird using it at times. While she was far from being a duelist of any kind...Fae also knew she wouldn't have any issues should something nefarious present itself. "I should rejoin the group. Thank you very much for your assistance, Kaylee Mahi'ai," Fae bowed her head slightly to the girl. "I look forward to any correspondences you may send." Fae almost didn't care at this point if nothing else was found. She sort of knew that there was going to be no chance of getting the barrier back. Even with the staff, she didn't know the spell nor did she believe that she had the magical capacity to cast such a thing on her own. Merlin, in his weird existence, was an enigma. She was just another druid. Walking around the group and rejoining her guard at the back, he tried to ask her why she thought breaking away was a good idea. Fae waved it off, immediately telling him in Brasilic to pay attention to the guide. She didn't want to miss hearing about Merlin again. [Fae End] MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

July 2, 2026 Upon her assurance that she would check on where she could find some more in-depth information on Merlin himself, Fae said that she would leave her with her contact information. Kaylee nodded, though she was pretty sure that addressing a letter to "Fae, High Druid, Hy-Brasil" would get it to her. There wasn't really anyone else with whom Fae could be confused. Of course, it was possible that Fae required her mail to be addressed in a certain way so that her people would know that it was something that she had solicited. If she were the High Druid, Kaylee thought, she wouldn't want to have to sort through piles of mail from senders she didn't know.
As promised, though, Fae wrote down her contact information. Kaylee was surprised to see that the way in which she did it was pretty non-magical for the High Druid, of all people, but she didn't say anything about it. In fact, she thought that it was interesting. She didn't expect Fae to have had much interaction with the non-magical community, especially with how averse the Druids were to, say, the introduction of cell phones into the magical world.
Kaylee took the piece of paper that Fae handed her, clutching it safely in her hand for the time being.
At about that same time, a tour group approached where they were, and Fae—obviously having been caught "escaping", if one could call it that—mentioned that she needed to return to the group. "Thank you very much for your assistance, Kaylee Mahi'ai. I look forward to any correspondences you may send," Fae told her, and Kaylee found herself smiling.
"You're welcome, Fae." She wasn't sure what she would be able to come up with, but Fae was so polite about it that it was worth a try.
