To say that Marcelle needed some time with an old friend was an understatement. She was so used to the hustle and bustle at St. Mungo's that she often forgot that she did have a life outside of work and children. It had become common place for her to meet her friends in passing for lunch anymore as a break from her shift, that way she had some sanity left. While Archie was more of her husband's life long friend, they too had grown close when she was introduced into the picture. It was hard to decipher where Aymeric's friendship with Archie started and where Marcelle's friendship with him began. She needed friends like this. Those ride or dies that she knew she could count on with anything...even if it was originally her husband's. So, Marcelle sat at a table at the Leaky Cauldron, drinking a cup of warm tea to soothe her bones. She was weary, things were abnormally busy at work, and it seemed like her home life was just as crazy. Being thrust into motherhood at a young age was not something that she had envisioned, and while she wouldn't admit to anyone, she often missed what life would have been like with Aymeric if they hadn't taken on the additional responsibility of her siblings. Marcelle sighed, closing her eyes briefly and just allowing the warmth of the drink to soothe her as she waited for Archie to arrive.

even flow, thoughts arrive like butterflies May 3, 2026 @marcelle The world felt very small at times. Maybe it was just what Archie felt after working in remote places for a few years before spending all his time in that dusty backroom of the Museum. And now, he spent his time in a dusty classroom teaching the next generation about Arithmancy. Sometimes he missed that adventure but the way the student’s eyes lit up when he recounted a particular job and related it to the material he meticulously wrote on the board. That was what he wanted and what drove him in his current chosen profession.
Like any Cursebreaker, former or current, Archie knew people all over the place. But the world still felt small—especially with so many of his former colleagues now teaching beside him. Jasper and Aymeric he had known during his school years, though Meric was the year after him. They’d always gotten along and even worked together briefly as Cursebreakers before Archie took his exit. But, he’d come to know Meric’s family as well (though not well), and he’d befriended his wife, Marcelle. Of course, it was all platonic, but Archie never had an issue getting along with most people.
The beginning of May was a busy time as he worked hard to keep up with the assignments he assigned his OWL and NEWT students and helped them prepare for exams. He always wondered how many of his NEWT students would go on to become Aurors or Cursebreakers—very few took that class for fun, as his sister had done. Stepping into the Leaky Cauldron, Archie quickly scanned the room before seeing the person he was looking for. Fortunately, he’d had some time over the weekend to run errands in London before he needed to be back at the school later that night. Archie approached the table, a grin on his face. ”Sorry I’m late—got held up in Horizont.” His Aunt had been chatting his ear off before he had to remind her he had an appointment, but Archie always visited her and his sister when he had the chance. ”How are you?”
