SMILING SMALL AT HER FRIEND'S response, Zen composed herself a little better. She knew Kaylee was far from the kind of person to judge her, but she couldn't help but panic anyway. "Okay." She smiled, taking in a deep breath as Kaylee suggested.

"It's beautiful here..well so far anyway." Zen added, breathing a little deeper while her eyes wandered around. Merlin, this was either going to be the best or worst trip of her life.

Zen followed her instruction to take a breath. That seemed to do the trick, at least temporarily. She then complimented that it was beautiful there—or so far, anyway.

Kaylee, who wasn't going to let a rocky start ruin the mood for the rest of their vacation, nodded. "I can let you in the house first and then grab our stuff," she informed her. "I think that'll work best." Their belongings wouldn't be going anywhere; where they lived was sparsely populated, making it much easier to be magical than if they were in a more urban area. "We don't have to do anything you don't want to while we're here," she added. That was the good thing about vacationing at home for her; there was no need to try to pack different tourist attractions into their schedule just to see them or to try to get something "authentic" out of it all.

That way, too, Zen could rest however much she needed to. Kaylee pulled out her wand and went ahead up to the front door. With her father's prosthetic legs, they had put a concrete ramp where there had once been a set of steps leading to the entrance. Despite her family's absence (and her absence that had been even longer), everything was as lush and green as Kaylee remembered it as she got to the door and looked back on the path she'd just taken.

Unlocking the door with a contented sigh, she held it open for Zen. "E komo mai," Kaylee grinned, speaking in Hawaiian first before translating what she had just said. "Come on in. Welcome to my house."

NODDING AGAIN AT HER FRIEND'S suggestion, Zen knew she was down for whatever. Going out, going to eat, or simply even staying in for the night. Nothing mattered! They were on vacation after all. "Maybe it'll be better to leave our stuff behind before we venture out right?" Smiling small as Kaylee then added that they didn't need to do anything Zen didn't want to do, the Novell shook her head.

"Hey..I'm on vacation with you. We can do anything and I don't mind." Zen began, coming close to swing an arm over her friends shoulder. "I'll tell you if something makes me uncomfortable or tired..you know this." She added with a grin. Watching as her friend opened up the front door, Zen couldn't help but smile even wider as Kaylee invited her in.

"Thank you for having me." She returned, stepping inside and taking in her surroundings. Old pictures of Kaylee and her family hung on the walls along with older pieces of art...it made the Novell feel rather nostalgic.

Zen mentioned that maybe it would be better for them to leave their belongings there at the house before they ventured out again, which sounded like a good idea to Kaylee. It was her house and not a hotel; everything would be safe there. "Yeah," Kaylee promised. "That works."

On a similar note, Zen reminded her that they were on vacation. They could do anything, and she didn't mind. "I'll tell you if something makes me uncomfortable or tired… you know this," she grinned.

Hearing Zen thank her for having her as she entered the house reminded Kaylee of just how long the two of them had waited for this vacation. Everything that they had been through at Ilvermorny and then at Hogwarts had tried their strength in more ways than one. And yet they had survived horrific trauma, started careers, and made it.

"You're welcome," Kaylee smiled. "I'll get our stuff, and then I'll give you the tour."

LEAVING THEIR THINGS IN THE safety of Kaylee's home also made it rather easier to venture out and travel around. So, as she nodded in agreement, Zen couldn't help but smile back at her friend as Kaylee mentioned she'll get their stuff and then give her the tour.

Nodding, Zen continued to scan the walls of Kaylee's hallway, seeing the trickles of memories that came with it all. "Do you want me to help? I know we can just use magic but its whatever." She asked, slightly turning back to her friend. Whatever the two of them had planned, whether it was something exciting or relaxing, Zen was ready for all of it.
