▲ May 26th, 2027 Bored. Such a word didn't typically exist in Lily's vocabulary, or even in her brain, but the fact of the matter was that she was bored. Uncle George was out all day and she had been left to man the joke shop all on her own. Almost a year there already, and he finally decided she was responsible enough to be left alone. Such a thing should have never happened because trusting her like this opened up for so many horrible possibilities. Her uncle clearly had quality insurance on the store, otherwise he was taking a giant risk leaving her on her own in a store full of fireworks and other potentially explosive items. But she was too bored to do anything. The weather had become ungodly hot at the start of the week and was holding over still. That meant no one was in Diagon Alley shopping, and definitely not at the joke shop. If anything, Fortescue's was getting slammed with customers for ice cream. Then again, it was the middle of the week still... A groan escaped from Lily's mouth as she flipped her head to the other side of the counter. She had set a tiny desk fan there at the start of her shift and had been flipping between her face and the back of her head all morning to keep both cool. It really wasn't helping much. If she failed to efficiently switch sides, her face would start to stick to the countertop, which would in turn become slick with sweat. Turning into a puddle was absolutely the worst. At least the full moon had already passed and she wasn't going to be wearing a coat of fur later in the evening. Now that would actually suck. She couldn't even find the fun in yelling into the fan anymore, as that took too much energy and effort. Plus she'd already done it for half the morning. Another minute passed with the fan blowing on her face, and Lily slowly lifted her head back to the other side allowing her neck to begin cooling off once again. Literally anything would be better than this right now, even if it made her sweatier. OPEN ● 366 ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

May 26, 2027 Priscilla wouldn't be caught dead shopping anywhere that bore the Weasley name, blood traitors that they were, but there she was inside Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, the infamous joke shop bathed in the eyesore of a color scheme that was orange and purple. From the window displays to the products available in the store itself, it was all very lacking in class. She didn't know why anyone would have expected any different, though, because every other item seemed to make reference to a bodily function. It was crass and frankly disgusting, but there were only so many ways to escape the oppressive heat.
Both eyelids practically twitching as she pretended to examine a display of perhaps the least offensive thing there, the WonderWitch product line, Priscilla mapped out her route for her errands so that she wouldn't have to spend any longer outdoors than was absolutely necessary. It was the middle of the week, and the summer hadn't started yet for the schools that had taken in the former Hogwarts students. Her chances of running into someone she knew were low—and thank Merlin for that—but never zero.

▲ The heat had slowed down her time to react, only catching a blur from the customer that entered the store as her head flipped to face the shop entrance. The main problem with the joke shop's layout was that once a person was out of view of the register, they effectively disappeared. This had been great for her when she didn't work there, usually using it as an excuse to run amok whenever her mum brought her round to visit her uncle. She didn't have to go home if she couldn't be caught after all. As an employee though, it was a tad different. Kids always tried to pocket things (as she did once upon a year or two ago), and it was her responsibility to prevent it. Not like they'd be able to walk out of the shop with anything they pilfered; an anti-theft charm was placed on everything. But she was still obligated to check in on the customer and see if they needed help with anything. Unsticking her face from the counter and sliding off of the stool she had glued herself to since starting her shift, Lily slowly made her way out onto the floor. She lifted her wand up to her chin and cast a wind charm on her face as she walked, though the second it came out of her wand it became engulfed by the heat. Pushing hot air around didn't help much but at least it got things moving. The stagnation was even worse. A few aisles of searching for the customer later and her brow quickly bubbling with perspiration, Lily finally found them. A girl was standing in front of the WonderWitch display, which wasn't an uncommon sight in the slightest. Personally she'd never tried any of them out, finding their results to be a bit disingenuous. Unfortunately they were great sellers, meaning they got to stick around. "Can I help you with anything today?" Lily asked with a yawn, not bothering to hide her exhaustion and disinterest. @priscilla ● 337 ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
