Charlie was unsure how his niece managed to handle that many small children during class time when he often times couldn’t even wrangle his own students. Distractions with cool magical creatures typically helped, and it was slightly easier now that he wasn’t teaching third through fifth years any longer. While he had enjoyed those few years, the extra work of different schedules and criteria for each year was complicated. He oftentimes felt like he was teaching the same thing over and over, as he usually presented whatever creature he happened to have access to at the time. For a class that was supposed to be practical, it really wasn’t. Now that he could keep it to just the LIFE students, he found it far easier.
The dragon egg seemed to be a welcome idea, and Charlie pulled his calendar notebook out. ”Do you think some time before Christmas would work? Maybe the last day of classes, that way they have something fun to learn about?” During the old days at Hogwarts, that final week of classes had always been morning to evening filled with end of term exams and studying. Obviously, four- and five-year-olds weren’t doing that sort of thing yet, but a fun lesson right before the holidays would keep them excited enough through Christmas break and wanting to learn when they got back. At least that was how he viewed it.
”The twentieth is a Monday…that works with my schedule as well,” Charlie muttered as he flipped through the pages of December to find which day was best for him. The dragon egg was far from fragile – baby dragons were far from being the most delicate of creatures out there. The real issue was physically transporting it. He’d find a way though. He always did when it came to learning.
