Luna Trelawney was rather a mess, strictly speaking. After her boyfriend's disastrous 20th birthday dinner (which fell apart before it even had the chance to begin) she'd felt the seed of guilt planted deep in her gut. She'd rang her best friend Evy to sort her out with an alcoholic pick-me-up, but was not expecting to meet up with Nate at the same time. Nate, whom she had rather uncerimoniously walked out on when he'd tried to rattle her relationship with Simon the last time she'd seen him. And lo and behold, Nate's appearance did nothing to soothe Luna's frayed nerves. He'd prodded and poked in the right places, revealing to Luna how obsessed Simon had always been with Claudia. It was shitty, to say the least. But unexpectedly, it did the one thing Nate hadn't expected. It bolstered Luna's trust in Simon. She knew that Nate would use any sort of excuse to get under Simon's skin, and that past relationship with Claudia, the hold she'd held over him, she realised how broken it was when Simon sought her out and explained everything.

Like a wounded pup, Luna had stewed in her sourness for a few days, her Quidditch performance suffering accordingly. Her captain had cuffed her around the ear and told her to sort her shit out, otherwise she'd be benched. With an iron resolve, Luna promised both herself, and her captain, that she would do just that.

Luna's only hang up was the vision that she'd had. Never in nearly twenty years had she been gifted - if you could even call it that - a false vision. She knew now that Simon had seen Claudia - she still was staunch in her belief that he should have mentioned it to her, but she was trying to be more mature and understanding. Yet Luna fundamentally believed Simon when he told her nothing had happened. In truth, she had believed it that night. But it had been impossible to corroborate with her own truth that was her clairvoyance. She would have to try to figure that out another time, because right now, Luna Trelawney had only one priority.

Luna presumed that the Marauders' training schedule was much like the Harpies. So she took the afternoon off practice, especially at the behest of her captain to keep her from dragging her personal life more into the team than ever, and took a portkey once more to Malmo. It was a nice city, she thought. Now that Luna could look on it without the dark lens of betrayal. She only saw it from a distance, as she'd apparated straight outside the training ground in one of the surrounding moors. Luna checked her watch, thinking they'd be wrapping up in the next ten or so minutes. Night was rapidly falling, despite it being only around four in the afternoon. Luna, wrapped tightly in her Harpies jumper and scarf, leaned against the bottom of one of the stands, looking up at the snatches of blue she could catch. The Marauders were good, she could admit. But they held nothing on the teams of the British and Irish League. Except for one player in particular.

The captain called an end to the practice and Luna loitered by the entrance to the changing rooms. She wanted to give Simon the time to deny her - though she wished he wouldn't. But after all, she'd been the one in the wrong. She'd accused him of something that was absolutely nothing. The cloud of blue drifted downwards, all camaraderie as they headed towards the changing rooms. Luna spotted Simon at once. Her chest heaved and tears sprung to her eyes, despite her many promises to herself that she would not cry. "Simon?" said Luna, her voice breaking over the sound of his name. "Hi... can I have a word?" said Luna, the apology etched in the worried lines of her face.

The past five days had Simon feeling completely hollow. After two days of binge drinking with the boys, he swore off alcohol for the rest of the week. Simon struggled to understand what had gone wrong with Luna the night of his 20th birthday. Their fight came out of nowhere and the more he tried to process what happened, he wished he would have told Luna about Claudia’s failed attempt to burrow her way back into his life. But her hurtful words rang through his memory like a broken record...'Love isn't enough...'

Practice today was the best he performed all week after the fight with Luna. He decided to leave the drama off the field to focus on the game because that was all he had at this point. Flying was always the best way to clear his head. Simon was too focused on practice to notice Luna popped in at the end.

After the Malmo’s were dismissed for the evening his feet landed on the pitch. Simon noticed Lunas head of hair standing at the entrance of the changing rooms. His stomach hit the floor, unsure if she was there to humiliate him in front of the entire team or cry him a river. Simon took a breath in as his jaw clenched, eyes watching Luna carefully as the distance between them closed. It took everything in his to resist pulling her into his arms as he halted in front of her. ”Hey,” he greeted stiffly, his tone lacking the usual warmth he had with his beloved. Luna asked if she could have a word with him, her face twisting into a look that she was on the brink of tears. That look alone made him want to cry and grovel at her feet. But he wouldn't. His heart was still aching.

Simon sighed, ”Yes.” he agreed flatly, a lump forming in his throat as he shifted his broom strap on his shoulder anxiously. His icy saucers stared her down expectantly because he didn't have any words for her. The sight of her upset him more than he'd ever be willing to admit.

Simon's tone was stiff, and Luna cringed. She'd done this - she broken the pair of them. She knew that it had been a lifetime full of misgivings and putting herself first that had led to this point, and that she was wholly undeserving of the love Simon bestowed on her. Swiping the traitorous tears from her eyes, Luna swallowed thickly and nodded. At the very least, Simon was willing to hear her out.

Where even to begin? Luna searched Simon's face for traces of affection, but was left wanting. She should have known. After all, she'd been the one to accuse him of something so treacherous, she could hardly even believe it herself. Luna loitered for a moment, waiting for his curious teammates to head into the changing rooms. She chewed on the inside of her cheek, finally meeting Simon's flat gaze. "I'm sorry," she whispered, two words that she had so often struggled to speak.

"I should have trusted you. I don't know why I didn't. I was just so confused by the vision. Because she was there, in your flat... I don't know how I got it, but I don't believe it anymore," she breathed out in a rush. "I'm sorry I made assumptions. There's no excuse for that," Luna added, looking down in shame. Her fingers knotted before her, and she took a breath to keep pressing forward. "I've done a lot of things wrong in my life, but with you, I was fixing them. And then I slipped, and I lost you... and I don't ever want to lose you again," said Luna, looking up at Simon pleadingly. "And I'm really sorry for ruining your birthday."

The remaining Malmo player, Sven, smacked Simons butt before jogging into the changing rooms. He
could feel his teammates watching the pair with curious eyes until they finally disappeared, leaving them in silence..

Simon watched Luna carefully, his expression softening as the apology fell from her lips. There was no way to maintain a stone cold gaze any longer. Over the past five days he thought long enough about this moment hoping that it would come. A wave of relief washed over him but he was still confused.

Dropping his broom to the ground, he pulled Luna into his arms wordlessly. He held her tightly, breathing in her familiar smell before kissing the crown of her head. Simon pulled away to look into her eyes. ”I love you endlessly, Luna.” he told her, his chest tight. Simon could feel himself getting choked up and he hated it. Emotions were always where he felt most weak. He swallowed, hard, wiping her tears with the pads of his thumbs, ”Your apology is accepted, but I’m also sorry.” he told her, feeling his stomach drop. This whole situation was tucked. Simon grabbed her hands, gently cradling them as he tried to explained himself, ”I -I didn’t tell you because I was trying to protect you, but it did the complete opposite. You mean the word to me Luna. Nothing and no one will change that, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.” He explained to her solemnly, attempting to soften his gaze. His heart beat out of his chest, he couldn’t wait to get past this.

The silence after Luna’s admission stretched longer than she would have liked. It felt like an eternity, like the clocks had frozen, like Simon would look at her with that disdain until she died. Her stomach twisted with discomfort, knowing that this could be the moment where her life changed forever. But thankfully, it passed, and relief washed over Luna as Simon dropped his broom and pulled her close. Emotion surged through her, and in a rare show, tears leaked from Luna’s eyes. She wrapped her arms tightly around his middle, clinging to him. Fearful that if she let go, he’d be gone forever.

Luna twisted her head to look fully at Simon, and kissed him soundly on the lips. Just a few days apart had even made her miss him. ”I love you,” she reminded him, a relieved giggle breaking from her lips. ”God, we are so disgusting,” Luna added, and this time her voice was more steady. ”Honestly, the past few days have been so shitty. I didn’t want to impose though… finally I couldn’t take it. I’m so sorry,” said Luna again. ”It’s okay… it’s all okay,” said Luna, relieved that something so small and meaningless in hindsight had the ability to rock such a steady foundation.

”I miss you all the time. I hate that you’re here, even though I’m so proud of you too. You know, Nate was actually the one who really made me realise how stupid I was being,” she added, wiping her face of the wetness. ”We bring out the best in each other,” said Luna firmly, kissing Simon again. ”I just wish we didn’t have to be in different countries ninety percent of the time. England’s not the same without my Swedish vamp,” said Luna, with an attempt at a playful smirk. ”I wonder why… she sought you out. But I don’t suppose it’s my business. My business is to trust you’re making the right decisions - which I do,” she clarified. ”I do wish I knew how that second vision came to me though…”

Simon held Luna in his arms feeling complete once again. 5 days of not talking to Luna felt like 500 years. She explained how she missed him all the time, his face altered because he did too. It practically brought tears to his eyes but he was too macho let to let his teammates see him cry. Their lips meshed with salty kisses. ”I wake up, fall asleep, and dream about missing you every single day. Long distance fucking sucks.” He lamented, wishing he could change everything overnight. "I will figure something out. Okay? I promise." Simon vowed, deciding right there with Luna in his arms that he’d move back to England. The distance was too painful. As much as he loved quidditch, he wouldn't allow distance to cause any more friction in their relationship. 

Simon shook his head, unfazed, even if he did have a prickle of anger in his stomach at the mention of Nates name. ”It sounds like Nate is still…Nate. Such a joy to be around.” he stated sarcastically in an even tone, not wishing to allow Nate to get on his nerves for probably the first time in his life. It felt freeing. Especially to know that Luna didn’t believe him. Simon still felt guilty for how he had lied to Nate about Claudia for so long. She wasn’t worth it - he was still paying for it. She was cancerous and toxic, destroying everything she touched. After several physical altercations with Nate, Simon didn’t think he and Nate would ever see eye to eye again without punching the other in the face. Which was unfortunate, considering Evy was Lunas best friend. And Nate still had her under his spell. There were no double dates on the books, that was for sure.

Luna wondered what Claudia was doing there and Simon sighed with a shrug. Hell, he didn't even know. ”-She was being a drunk and sloppy attention whore. Security pulled her out screaming…" he explained, before he chuckled, "I wish you saw that part.” he jested as he squeezed her. Simon pulled away slightly, ”Ugh. Sorry I’m all sweaty..” he laughed, remembering he was all out of breath from practice. ”Give me 5 minutes to change..and will you come home with me?” he asked her, hopefully. They had a lot of making up to do..

Luna inhaled, simply breathing in Simon's familiar scent. She'd always been the sort to try to differentiate herself from the crowd. To be different by being the best. It came as part of the package of being one of three. But with Simon, she felt like she could be individual and a part of him all at once. It was a strange and thrilling sensation. She wasn't worried about what the future would bring, or what would come of this. Only that now she was home. "Okay," Luna agreed readily, hopeful that Simon would be able to sort something out. She had time left on her lease in London, but maybe she could spend every other night with Simon? They'd figure something out. And they wouldn't make assumptions.

"Yeah... I met up with Evy and he was there. Making things worse. I dunno... he said it was almost like she'd imperio'd you. And when I realised Nate was getting joy out of my torment, there was no way there could be anything with Claudia and you." She frowned, looking up at Simon. "It was really weird," she concluded.

Simon told Luna that Claudia had been a drunken mess, and had been booted by security. "Damn, I wish I had seen that," said Luna with a smirk. She felt satisfied that Claudia had been such a buffoon. The closest Luna had ever gotten to that sort of nonsense was the arguement with Simon 5 days ago. "Maybe she passed out and dreamed herself into your flat," said Luna. It seemed farfetched, but Luna knew that at some point, she was going to have to come to terms with the strange false vision. Her curiosity was stifled for now, but it would be roused again soon. "You know I like you sweaty..." said Luna, her tone of voice shifting to something much more playful. "I'll wait. I'll always wait," she added, genuine. Luna stepped back, and pushed her hands into her pockets.

The thought of moving back to England made Simon slightly nervous. Would he be able to play with the Malmo’s still? He’d move his life again, as a testament of his love to Luna. After everything they had gone through, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her happiness. His expression softened as she explained the encounter with Nate and Evy. There was a time that information involving Nate would grind his gears but this time he knew what the scumbag degenerate Nate was doing. It was unfortunate to that things between he and Nate would always be irreparable. Instead of commenting any further about Nate, he was willing to move on. Surprisingly about Claudia being a drunk idiot. His eyes widened out of disbelief as Luna put pieced together, thoughtfully stating that Claudia must have dreamed herself into his flat. ”As absurd as that sounds..it makes sense.” his head cocked to the side with sudden realization. ”Have you always been able to see peoples dreams?” he asked her with genuine curiosity. After a moment his eyes narrowed playfully. ”Bugger. Why couldn’t you see one of my dirty dreams instead..” he stated with a cheeky smile and laugh.

Simon pulled Luna in for a sweaty embrace, smushing kisses all over her face and neck after she stated she loved him sweaty. ”I will be right back” he promised, kissing her soundly before disappearing into the changing rooms. Simon was greeted by his teammates, eagerly spit firing questions about the situation in Swedish. He was overwhelmed with the amount of support everyone was giving him and promised to share more later. Simon washed up with magic and gathered his things, not wishing to be separated from Luna for another minute..

After about three minutes he emerged with his duffel bag strung over his shoulder, lazily jogging over to his beloved girlfriend with a giddy smile. He was filled with relief now that they were talking again. Simon couldn’t stay mad at Luna, especially over a misunderstanding. He wanted to move on. Simon pulled her in for a squeeze, ”Ready?” he asked before apparating back to his flat. ”I’ve missed you so much.”

Luna rubbed her temple, staving off the impending headache caused by thinking about Claudia. "No, never before," she admitted. "But it's not like I have many examples of visions, or anyone I know to compare it to," she added with a sigh. Though she was one of three, Luna's visions were vastly different from both Selene's and Phoebe's. She didn't know anyone else who saw visions of what was currently happening from a different point of view. People were usually so focused on different times, the past or the future, they forgot the gift of the present.

"Oh, ha ha. The reality is much better than a dream," Luna replied with a smirk. With a promise to return sharpish, and a kiss on the lips, Luna folded her arms and leaned against the wall. She felt whole again, and almost smug to have Simon wrapped so soundly around her little finger. In all fairness, she was completely at his mercy as well.

Simon was back within minutes, fresh and packed and ready to go. "And I've missed you. Promise that I'll ask questions first before jumping to conclusions," Luna replied, kissing him back before they apparated to his flat to continue their apologies without words.
