Time Turners seemed like one of those things where the idea of it was nice, but that came along with the knowledge that executing it might go horridly. Having been raised as a Muggle, there were a lot of things Si had eagerly anticipated seeing once she’d learned magic was real – teleportation, mind-reading, time travel. Some of those things existed, sort of, and had been a lot of fun to see happening in real time. But not without constant warnings from professors and adults in general that magic wasn’t supposed to be just fun. With great power comes great responsibility, and all that stuff. In the end, Si had decided that she’d be better off without playing around with Time Turners. “Yeah, or we’d get caught in a time loop and live the same day over and over again,” Si said with a shiver. She didn’t actually know if that was possible, but the thought of it was a strong enough deterrent.
Sienna searched around her desk for a quill, and immediately began to carefully mark the bag of Venomous Tentacula leaves – when they’d been harvested, the state she’d got them in. You could never know too much about the ingredients they worked with, especially since some of them were quite nasty or toxic. “Sorry,” Sienna said again seriously, since the loss of the Venomous Tentacula had obviously hit Aurelia harder than expected. But Herbologists could form a bond with anything, especially semi-sentient plants. “I hope you find another one soon. A well-behaved one.” That seemed like a long shot, especially from Sienna’s brief experience fostering one before it moved to a greenhouse – but hey, one could hope.
She nodded at the offer of dittany – it was one of the ingredients in Aware Wolf, so the apothecary always went through an unholy amount of it every month. Not to mention all the silver-based products, since they were key ingredients in any potion a werewolf might need. Si smiled and waved as Aurelia picked up her potions. “Maybe come by again before the next full moon? We’ll need lots of herbs.” That was almost a whole month away, but Sienna had been doing this job long enough to anticipate what they’d need soon enough. “And don’t forget to visit sometime, I’ll tell Terry we’re expecting you!” Sienna picked up the bag of leaves again to admire them, because of course rare ingredients should always be properly treasured. She had lots of plans already.
