Juniper bit down on the inside of her cheeks to prevent herself from laughing. It really wasn't funny, a toddler trying to climb bookshelves was incredibly dangerous and the kind of curiosity that needed to be quashed before a serious injury happened. She'd heard of some parents giving their children toy brooms before they could even walk, which was an equally scary image that popped into her head. While Rhys had always been a tad reckless regarding himself, she knew that he was beyond careful when it came to his daughter. "So what you're saying is that rock climbing is in her future?" With Rhys as her father, extreme sports sounded like they were a given. Assuming Quidditch wasn't enough, of course.
Still turning the gemstone pin around in her hands, Juniper continued to smile at it. These were the little things she had missed. Sure, it was a Christmas gift, but Rhys had been the only one to ever even think of things like this. Obviously that was because of the amount of time they'd been together and the fact that she hadn't been with anyone else around special dates or whatever...but still. The real question was where she was going to put the pin. There really wasn't enough material on her outfit to safely put it without it pulling something down. Once she found a place though, a gluing charm of sorts would definitely be needed to make sure the back never popped off. While she'd never had one of her own do that, she had found one stuck to the bottom of her shoe once after feeling the metal face scraping on the ground under her.
She would make seeing him again before Christmas a priority even if she was still working on grading papers. Assuming, of course, that nothing happened over the next ten days. With the way some parents were, she was sure she'd start fielding letters any day now about why she hasn't finished her grades yet. Even if they ended up at her place tonight, where his present was neatly wrapped and waiting. "Good." Juniper kissed him again. It went without saying that if Amelia stuff popped up, they didn't have to. Christmas was Christmas and if things worked out the way she wanted them to, this wouldn't be the last one for them.
