It was time for lunch. Rose had left charms class late to collect some extra paperwork for the charms club, being co-captain she had to take care of any paperwork that the captain left her with. Rose didn't mind the extra work, for it only put her ahead in class and the club. Plus it gave her something extra to do, to fill her mind with and distract her from... him. Scorpius Malfoy, of course. Practically one of Rose's worst enemies all throughout school. The two had spent half of their educational careers competing against one another, trying to prove they were better than the other. All of those years and it just took until this year for Rose to realize that she harbored very strong feelings for the Malfoy boy. But the Weasley was having a very hard time with coming to terms with those feelings, even to herself. She had not spoken to anyone about it even. Not Amelia, and not Dominique and certainly not her parents. Her mother... she would probably be understanding but her father? There was absolutely no chance in him ever accepting her feelings for Scorpius. And how could he? A Weasley and a Malfoy? It was unheard of.
Rose was on the second floor when she decided to make a pit stop in the girls' bathroom. She stepped in, knowing it was still sometimes used by those brave enough to handle Moaning Myrtle. She looked around quietly but saw no sign of the sad ghost and so she went over to one of the sinks. She set her things down and began to run the water of one of the faucets. She let her hands run through the water for a moment before she cupped them together and let water fill them, then splashing it onto her face. Scorpius had been the star of Rose's dreams lately. In her dreams, they were together. In her dreams, everyone - even her father, approved. But she doubted Scorpous would ever feel the same way about her. How could he, after all? He had dated her cousin Ondina on and off for years. To date his ex-girlfriend's cousin? Especially when the families were so incredibly close? That was a recipe for disaster. Rose had always kind of harbored more frustration at Ondina because of this, but of course it wasn't until this year that she had realized why. Fortunately enough, Scorpius and Ondina were through so she had nothing to worry about. Rose sighed and looked into the mirror, then seeing the reflection of a familiar face.
Speak of the devil!

Ondina had never known about Rose's feelings for Scorpius. Never had she ever thought it possible that there were feelings. There had always been something between the two, ever since first year. A rivalry, this insistent need to beat each other. For their first three years Ondina couldn't stand it. Their insistent need to focus only on the other. She and Scorpius hadn't been a thing at that time, but she'd still felt that sting of jealousy. And then their fourth year, and things finally changed. Scorpius wasn't looking at Rose anymore, he was looking at her. Off and on it'd been for the past two years, but everytime, he came back. Now, don't get her wrong, Ondina didn't have a problem with Rose. In fact, Rose happened to be one of her cousins she could actually stand. That didn't mean she liked the attention Scorpius gave her yearmate/cousin though. Ondina had just left the Hospital Wing for her weekly visit when she spotted her cousin Rose on a stairwell above her, scurrying off into one of the bathrooms. Not just any bathroom though, Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Ondina couldn't stand the ghost, and, when no one was looking, used the tortured soul as target practice. Myrtle never liked it, but she'd never been able to retaliate either. Curious, the girl followed. What on earth was Rose doing in there? Sticking her head inside, her gaze took in the almost completely deserted chamber. No ghosts in sight, good. She didn't feel like putting up with the ruckus Myrtle caused today. Putting on a smile, she completely stepped through the doorway, and Rose spotted her in he mirror. Forcing that smile to stay, Ondina took a couple steps closer to her dear cousin. "Afternoon, Rose." She cheerfully greeting, putting on her best act. "Shouldn't you be going to lunch?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side so a few stray strands of blonde hair fell into her face. It was odd, the way Rose felt toward her cousin. She loved her of course, she was her cousin after all. They were family. But Rose had always felt that weird jealousy when it came to Ondina. For so long, it was like Rose and Scorpius liked to annoy and compete against one another so much that it always seemed like there was no on else in the room. Then in their fourth year, Ondina and Scorpious had started dating and things were different. Not between Rose and Ondina persay but more so between Scorpius and Rose... they had not fought as much but that wasn't because they had found some kind of middle ground. No, it was because Scorpius had briefly shifted his attention to Rose's cousin. Secretly Rose had always wished they would break up so they could fight and such like they used to, and Rose got her wish on more than one occasion. Every time they broke up, it was like things went back to normal. But then they would get back together again... Rose didn't understand what the two saw in one another. She would often see the two together in the corridors when they were together and scoff at their affection. But now Rose knew, without a doubt, it was all out of jealousy. Because she had always wished it had been her next to him and not Ondina.
Rose whipped around when she heard the voice of her cousin. She blinked as she looked at her cousin, who was smiling sweetly at her. "Oh Ondina," she breathed. "You gave me a fright." She took a second to recollect herself, quickly using the sleeve of her robe to wipe off her damp face. She straightened up then. She raised an eyebrow at Ondina when she had asked her what she was doing here. "Just using the loo before I head down," she said, gesturing to the stalls behind them. She looked at her cousin, smiling. For some reason, it felt very forced to smile like that at Ondina. "And what are you doing up here so close to lunch, Ondina? She returned the question, picking up her books from off the ground and holding them up against her chest.

Ondina had always felt harshly towards all her cousins, but the older she got, there were a few she'd grown more... tolerable towards. Rose happened to be one of them. Though, to be honest, Rose still irked the Slytherin from time to time... And, while she couldn't quite explain why, she'd always felt threatened by her yearmate and cousin. As if, if she wasn't careful she'd lose something dear to her...
Ondina kept that charming, sweet, and obviously fake, smile on her face as she stepped up to one of the mirrors, running her fingers through her hair and checking her make up. Ondina was quite vane when it came to her appearance. It had started with just trying to hide those dark circles under her eyes. It was always hard for her to sleep, her asthma didn't like her laying down. The older she got though... It became a need. "Oh, you know. I thought my make up got smeared earlier. I couldn't go down until I'd fixed it." She almost sounded like she was bragging right there. Turning to look at Rose, that sweet expression was back. "Besides. It's been a while since we spent any time together. Maybe we could catch up." Okay, something was definitely up. Ondina was being a little to nice, even for an act... It was almost like she was in a good mood. But what could have made her so happy..?

Rose loved Ondina like any other of her cousins. But it was no secret Ondina had always been... distant to the rest of them. Perhaps that added to Rose's always feeling so "fake" around her, but it had a large part to do with Scorpius. Rose was jealous of her cousin, so it was very difficult for her to be genuine with her. Especially lately. With figuring out her feelings for the Malfoy as of late came a lot of feelings for Ondina that she never really knew she had. Jealousy included, but there was also resentment. And even a little bit of anger with Ondina. Anger with her for the way she sometimes treated their family but then again, she felt sympathy. Because often times her family would treat Ondina the same.
The Ravenclaw watched as the Slytherin seemed to adjust her makeup. She couldn't help but think of how self centered it made her look. Then again, maybe it was just the jealousy talking. Rose didn't want to think or talk about family in that way. "Oh," Rose nodded, pretending she fully understood what it felt like to really care that one's makeup got smudged. Then again... perhaps if she was the one dating Scorpius, she would care too. "I know what you mean." She lied, but hoped it sounded convincing. Ondina wanted to catch up? That was odd... but Rose bought into it. Perhaps she would ask about Scorpius... "Yeah," Rose said, sounding much more determined to converse with her cousin now. "How are things? School and... all that?" She asked, hoping that Ondina would bring up the Malfoy boy on her own so Rose wouldn't have to. She didn't want to seem interested, after all!

Ondina's relationship with Rose was different then with several of her cousins. They were all pretty close in age. But she either chose to ignore most of their existences, or tormented them to no end (like Albus for example.). Rose though, they got along. Sometimes. When they weren't in argumentative moods. Not only did they share several classes together, but they were in two of the same clubs. Basically, they could very easily spend several hours every day around the other. And so, they'd developed a sort of tolerance towards each other. At times, that tolerance could be considered friendly. Like now for instance.
"Oh, you know. Life is great. I mean, I know things have been rocky with Scorpius lately but it's all back to normal now." She spat out, not realizing that that was exactly what Rose wanted. It was simply the most interesting thing in her life... That she was interested in talking about. Of course, there was something far more interesting going on, but Rose didn't need to know about that. In fact, Ondina hadn't even told her best friend, Adalyn, about Cassius yet. "But, I don't want to spend the whole time talking about that! Tell me about yourself. How is Hugo doing?" She offered a warm smile as she spoke, oblivious to how Rose would react...
