-- if this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together it was always the same. every time he and ondina were in the same room they fought. why did she have to find him today of all days. words had been flung around and insults had been thrown with a force that he wasn't aware either of them possessed. she was pushing him and she knew it. like she was willing for something in his brain to snap. he had been pacing when she had found him, a habit that he had taken up in the past months. the tower was often quiet, a perfect place to be alone with ones thoughts and then it wasn't. there was more people in the room now than there had been in the time albus had been coming here. rose was in the room, talking and trying to get through to him and ondina to stop fighting but the words seemed like a blur to albus as the pounding in the back of his head took hold of everything and it was all he could focus on. he'd stopped. he hadn't said a word in the last few moments, after seeing scorpius appear in the door to the room. probably here by ondina's request to see the downfall of his friend, so she could finally convince scorp that al wasn't worth it and was what someone would call a monster. she had been trying that for years. but it had never stuck before. he moved to the window, his hands clenched tight as he felt his fingers dig into hi palms and he paced back from the window, toward ondina. "just shut up. get the hell away from me. all of you!" his hand opened before he could stop it, something in him snapped, finally let go as he stopped in the center of the room, he felt the force of something growing within him, not controlling it but finally letting the pressure in his head go. the blast flew from his hand with force, the spell hitting the stone of the floor and for a split second there was nothing but silence in the room, before the blast emitted from the floor, sending al flying up toward a roof that was already starting to crumble from the explosion caused in the floor beneath them.

To say Scorp was less than pleased to find that his best friend and girlfriend were fighting again was an understatement. He was planning on meeting them up there, but he decided to show up late to give them some time alone, in hopes that things would go well. That was his mistake. He showed up in the door, seeing Ondina and Al arguing while Rose tried to stop them. Rose. He felt himself stop in the doorway, unsure how to proceed. Having Al and Ondina in the same room was bad enough, but having Rose there was an added horror. He took one step in as Al crossed to the window, turning to call out to Ondina before suddenly a blast flew from his hand and toward the center of the room. ”Albus!” Scorpius yelled, making a bolt for his best friend but only to late as the flow imploded beneath them. Scorpius was thrown onto his back, looking up to see the ceiling collapse as well. When he finally got his bearings he pushed himself to standing. And proceeded to run straight for Rose. It was the same old thing. Ondina and Albus, at it again. Somehow Rose had once more found herself in the middle of it. Between Ondina shouting at Albus and Albus's yelling at her to be quiet, Rose was trying to calm them down; using both hand gestures and calming words. But as always, that was never enough. Why did the two always have to be at one another's throats? And why did she always have to be the one in the middle of it all? She was just in the middle of yelling over Ondina at Albus to convince him to calm down when she saw someone in the doorway. Her mouth fell open and words stopped when she saw who it was. Scorpius. He was probably there because of Ondina, but still... she froze when she saw him. And it seemed as if their eyes met for a moment. She gave him a painful look. She knew that he hated their fighting just as much as she did.
Rose turned her head back to Albus just in time to see his fists clenched in anger. "Albus..." she said calmly one more time, raising both of her palms up at him nonthreateningly. She just wanted him to calm down before... It was too late.
Right before her eyes, Rose saw a blast emit out of Albus's hand. She watched with wide eyes as it seemed to get absorbed in the stone floor. For what felt like the longest moment of her life, it was silent. Everything felt like it was in slow motion as she flung her head back around to look at Scorpius - fear in her eyes. Before she knew it she was flung off of her feet and sent back about three feet. She missed the back wall by just less than a foot. It didn't feel real as she looked around the tower which was beginning to crumble. Was everyone okay? That was when she realized she was looking for Scorpius. Was he okay? Her heartbeat sped up. She couldn't hear anything but a ringing in her ears. She didn't even hear the words leaving her mouth... "Scorpius!!" She yelled. She looked around frantically as she slowly got up. That was when she saw him. Running straight... to her?

Ondina hated few people. Disliked, yes. Enjoyed to torment, definitely. But hated? That was a title currently reserved for just one person... Albus Potter. They'd never gotten along, even as children. For as long as she could remember, she knew she'd never liked him. There was just something about him that bugged her. Something that just made her want to make him miserable. As she grew older though, making him miserable just wasn't enough. She wanted to take everything away from him, to completely crush him.
She found him alone, pacing in one of the towers. Part of her wanted to leave him alone, to just move on. But something about that look he had... She felt an uncontrollable urge to lash out at him. And she did. The argument that ensued was more heated then any before, both their tempers boiling over. She could almost feel Albus reaching his breaking point, when Rose interrupted, trying to play peace keeper. Ondina, who normally had no problem with her female cousin, wasn't having any of that, nor did she have the patience. Words were flung like daggers in Rose's direction, demanding she mind her own business and to back off. That was when Ondina spotted Scorpius in the doorway. He didn't look pleased at the sight infront of him. And, for a split moment? The girl shot Albus a smug smirk. She didn't necessarily like Scorpius seeing her like this, but at least he was slightly used to it. She picked fights with everyone. But Albus? It was always such a rare treat to rile him up, to rattle his cage... The only problem was? When you rattled the cage long enough, you eventually woke the sleeping beast in side. A beast Ondina had never imagined.
The room shook violently as Albus' spell hit the ground. For a moment, the girl thought it backfired, Albus flung through the air like a rag doll. That triumphant grin didn't even finish forming when the impact finally reached her, stealing the breath she'd been trying to take. Ondina felt the asthma attack coming before her throat closed. She let out a strangled gasp, trying to draw a breath she knew was impossible, as she was sent flying across the room. She didn't move when she hit the ground.
Ondina wasn't sure if what she saw next was real, or some hallucination caused by the spell or her asthma attack. But Scorpius... He was running. Not to her aid though... To Rose's. She tried to draw in another breath, but her lungs refused.
"Sc...." She tried to speak, to get Scorpius or Rose's attention, but it sounded more like a strangled cry then anything else. Another attempt to breath, and her lungs felt like they were on fire... Then everything went black.

-- if this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together there was a ringing in his ears. what was that? a bell? a siren? albus came around slowly, the realisation of what happened slowly dawned on him as he glanced around at the rubble that surrounded them. he'd done that? he couldn't have .. could he? he scrambled to a sitting position, suddenly aware of a burning pain in his side. shifting to put his hand against his ribs his eyes widened a little in shock when he saw the burn on his palm and part way up his wrist. could the spell have caused that? he didn't know. all he knew was now he knew about it it hurt. more than his side. he chewed his lip a little and moved to get himself to hi feet slowly, knowing that scorp and rose had been in the room, ondina too. he coughed as he started forward, his feet tripping over small pieces of rubble as he moved through it, a cloud of smoke emitting from a small fire that still burned under some of the stone. "s-scorp? r-rose?" he called into the smoke, needing to know where they were. if they were okay. that he was so sorry. "o-ondina?"

Scorp heard Rose say his name and it didn't even register to him that this was a strange occurrence. It felt completely normal, like she was obviously going to be worried about him and him about her. As he neared her he dropped to the ground, sliding for a few seconds on his side before skidding to a stop beside her and taking both of her hands in one swift motion. "Are you hurt?" he asked, his grip on her hands tight. He assessed her, looking for any cuts of bruises.
"We should find Al and Ondi-" he stopped. What the hell was he doing? His eyes widened and he whipped around, looking for the others. "Ondina. This isn't good," Rose would know about Ondinas condition, of course. He brought her closer, wrapping an arm around her before moving to stand. "Come on," his voice was soft and calm as he slowly lifted the two of them off the ground.
"Al?" the smoke was overpowering, causing him to choke and cough a little. He couldn't imagine what Ondina was going through right now... the fact that he couldn't see or hear her was extremely troubling. He could hear Al somewhere to his right. "Ondina?"

It was all happening so fast, Rose didn't even have time to think about what she was doing, what was happening. Before she knew it, Scorpius was sliding toward her and had her hands in his. His grip was tight but it felt natural and she even gripped him back. She was scared, but she was glad he was there. He was alright. "I-I'm fine," she said, unsure first. She felt fine, just frazzled. "Are you okay?" She asked him in return. She didn't want to let go of him... but then.
Oh... Merlin.
"ONDINA!!" She shouted into the smoke. Surely she had to be suffering through this. Her heart began to race. Albus. He had been right there. It felt so natural when Scorpius put his arm around her and helped her up, though under any other circumstances it would have felt so alien. "Albus!" She called out, searching frantically for both of her cousins. She knew Scorpius had to be searching just as madly. She looked to her right when she heard Albus call out to them. "Albus! We're here! Are you okay!?" She stopped walking, coughing a bit. She looked up at Scorpius. Her face was smudged with black soot. "Go find Ondina... I-I am gonna get to Albus," she said. It hurt her to be separating from him during a moment like this... but he needed to find Ondina. She was his girlfriend. She needed to find Albus. "Go, and... we can all come back right here and get out." She said, nodding determinedly.
Then Rose slipped out from Scorp's arm and headed off to their right in the direction she heard Albus's voice, calling out for him as she went.

Ondina had only blacked out for a moment. The tower, or at least what should have been the tower, came back into focus. It was filling with a thick smoke. As if breathing hadn't been hard enough before. Her chest was already burning as she tried desperately to draw breath, her heart pounding so hard that it hurt. And... Rose and Scorpius had disappeared. No...
Struggling, she rolled onto her back, only to grimace. She'd been so focused on the fact that she couldn't breath that she'd failed to notice she was actually injured. How badly, she couldn't tell. She'd have to sort that out later. For now, she needed to calm down. Her panic was only making it worse. But how could she stay calm?! She was who knew how injured, already completely unable to breath, surrounded by smoke, and to top it all off, the tower was falling apart! She was way past calm! She had to do something though! If she didn't...
Thankfully she hadn't lost, or broken, her wand in the explosion. Getting it out though was painful, her hands shaking badly as she fumbled to get it out of her pocket. Black spots appeared in her vision, just a friendly reminder of how important oxygen was... She knew she was close to really passing out this time, nearing her limit of how long she could 'hold her breath'. With the last bit of her strength, she rolled onto her side, the motion giving her hand, and wand, just enough movement to send out a spray of green sparks in every direction, including out the window. The sparks didn't take shape, like they'd planned. But... He'd get her cry for help.. right? That was her last thought as she lost consciousness.

-- if this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together his arm was broken. it had to be. the pain he felt couldn't be caused only by burns. he was sure. where were they? he couldn't make anything out on the smoke. it was too think and burning as he tried to breath it in against the will of his broken ribs. he could hear them, he heard a voice through the smoke and turned his head toward where he was sure it had come from. "s-scorp? rose??" he coughed out as he stumbled again, this time allowing his body to rest on a piece of rubble. he sat on it, the stone hot beneath him as he wrapped his good arm around his chest and kept his bad one cradled against his body. how had he done this? he didn't know how this could have happened. he'd never done anything like this before. except he had set the table on fire and tried to blow it up when he was a kid. but that was james' fault. he coughed as he closed his eyes, trying to get himself to think about the present and only the present. if his mind kept drifting back and forward then it wouldn't do him any good. "r-rose!" he heard her call to him again, heard her footsteps, or at least he hoped they were as he opened his eyes and lifted his head. he saw her shape through the smoke. thank merlin. he thought about getting up but he didn't think he had it in him. he wasn't used to feeling weak. he hated the thought of not being able to stand up as much as he hated the thought of what he had done. keeping one hand against his ribs he shifted, tried to lean closer to his cousin to talk to her. "a-are you hurt?" he asked her, his eyes frantically looking over her from his spot on the rock as something green flashed in the corner of his eye. that had to be ondina. he almost worked up the energy to stand up when he felt something drip into his eye. he blinked and tried to shake it away before he felt the drop run down onto his lip. blood. he was bleeding. he didn't remember hitting his head, but then he had been knocked out. reaching his hand up he touched his fingers to the gash above his eye on his forehead. it was then he started to feel the ache behind it. he shook his head again, trying to ignore it. he needed to get rose out of there. the way things sounded it wasn't going to stop crumbling any time soon. "scorp? ondina?" he asked, wondering if she knew where they were.

"I'm fine," Scorpius answered Rose. His voice was stern and intense, not really wanting Rose to worry about him in this situation. He was sure he was the least hurt out of the four of them and he wasn't going to make Rose worry about him now. When she suggested that they separate, Scorpius tightened his grip on her for a moment. She had a point though and he sigh, releasing her as she slipped away. A the last second her caught her hand in his. 'Hey, be careful. I'm serious," he gave her hand a tight squeeze before letting her go off in the opposite direction of he. "Ondina!" he called again. After a moment, he saw a flurry of green sparkles through the dust and smoke. He moved toward it, finding Ondina collapsed on the floor near an open window. That was a good sign, at least. Some fresh air was getting to her he hoped. He quickly knelt beside her, unsure if he could move her or not. The smell of iron filled his nose-blood. He felt the tears prick his eyes as he bent down, assessing her the best that he could... Her right leg was broken, that much was obvious. He could barely even look at it without feeling sick to his stomach. But no, he had to get a grip on himself. He took a deep breath and bit hard on his lip, willing the tears back into his skull as he continued to survey the damage. Her breathing was labored, her robes were torn in various places. Bruises were already appearing on her neck and shoulders, she must have been hit with debris. Scorps hands started to shake as he gently slid them underneath Ondina's arms and knees. He slowly lifted her into his lap and shifted himself, leaning against the wall for support. "Okay, okay. Everything's going to be fine..." he muttered before slowly standing, using the wall as an anchor. He turned toward the open window, watching some of the smoke be sucked outside. Good. He wasn't sure how else to go about making it out of here safely, especially with someone in his arms. He needed help, he needed Albus and Rose. "Al, Rose! We're over here!" he called out. Rose made her away through and around debris. It seemed as if the top level had collapsed on them. Which meant... The tower was falling. She felt her heart racing now as she frantically looked around for Albus, hoping that Scorpius had reached Ondina by now. Then it was like a lightbulb went off in her head. The bubble-head charm! She reached into her robes for her wand and... It wasn't there. Panic began to set in. Surely they would lose oxygen soon! That was when she nearly stumbled into Albus. "Albus!" She cried just as he said her own name. She placed her hands on his shoulders. "I'm fine, Al - Albus... Your arm..." It definitely looked broken. She was wishing so badly then that she had not lost her wand in the explosion so she could help him. He needed a doctor, and there was no telling what state Ondina was in.
Rose saw then that Albus had a gash above his eye. She immediately reached down to the bottom of her robes and ripped off a piece, then held it up to Albus's eye. "I separated from Scorpius so we could find you and Ondina," she said, dabbing at his gash. "They can't be far. Come on," she placed an arm around her cousin and then helped support him as they began to walk back through the smoke in what she hoped was the direction in which she came. Her heart yearning to know if Ondina and Scorpius were okay.
As they walked back through the rubble, Rose caught a glimpse of an open window still in tact and some of the smoke slowly being sucked out. Then she heard Scorpius. "Scorpius! She called back, helping to support Albus. She silently thanked Merlin that she was able to hear his voice again. Slowly, the shape of Scorpius holding something, or rather someone, came into few.
"Oh thank Merlin. Is she breathing?" Rose asked as she now reminded her self to breathe. She still stood, helping to support her cousin as another round of coughs racked her body.

-- if this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together "I'm fine, Al - Albus... Your arm..." he reached up his good hand to curl it around her arm lightly, squeezing it in relief instead of grabbing her up into a huge hug which it wasn't the time to do that. he was just thanking merlin that she seemed to be okay. he glanced past her into the smoke for a second before looking down at his arm, he bit his lip. "it's n-not the only thing t-that's b-broken" he said, a cough racking his body and he couldn't help but let out a groan when it sent a stabbing pain through his ribs. he hoped no one else was hurt. god what .. he couldn't fathom it. he'd never .. ever. he was loosing his thoughts again. he shook his head slightly, wincing as he felt rose press something against the gash on his head. "I separated from Scorpius so we could find you and Ondina," "They can't be far. Come on," he was going to have no choice in the matter. he couldn't help the gasp of pain that slipped from his mouth as she put her arm around him, the contact hurting his ribs almost as much as his coughing had. he bit down hard on his lip though, determined not to give away anything else as they fumbled their way through the rubble and smoke. he took her support though. he needed it. it was a horrible feeling for him. he should be able to help her out of here. he had done this to her. it wasn't her job to help him. she should have left him and helped scorp and ondina.
he saw scorp and ondina as they neared a window which thankfully was sucking smoke out of it as the second passed. watching the way scorp was holding ondina sent a shiver of dread through his body. what if she died? was she still alive? he could only think what his family would do to him if he had killed his cousin. he paled at the thought. he'd never meant for anything like this to happen. he turned his head toward rose as she coughed, shifting from her support to try and give her his when his head took a turn for the worse, the pain grew behind his eye and the world started spinning before him. he stumbled, his legs giving way as he gripped onto a piece of rubble beside them, dropping to the floor with a groan of pain he sat against it he brought his knee's to his chest, cradled his broken arm against his bbody and let his head fall back, the world still spinning before him. "y-you n-need to get out" he said, shifting his head and trying to focus his eyes and attention on scorpius. "g-get t-them out of here .. n-now" he said, hearing the rubble shift and groan around them as rocks started to once again crumble around them. he wanted the three of them safe, out of danger and out of the way of any more falling debris. for the first time in a while he didn't care about himself, just scorp and rose and even more surprising, ondina. she needed help.

Scorpius was able to breathe again once Albus and rose appeared in front of him. Al was in worse shape than either he or rose, unsurprisingly. Scorp smiled briefly at them, showing his relief as he made eye contact with his best friend. Before the moment of calm could last, however, Scorp could hear the rumbling around them increase. He turned to Rose. "I think her lungs could close at any second, if they haven't already. We need to-" suddenly a chunk of ceiling fell beside him, causing Scorp to dodge it drastically. As he and Ondina fell to the ground, Scorp made sure that guys body took the worst of the blow. As his body made contact with the rubble, he heard a loud crack. He groaned. Surely someone should have pulled their wand out by now and helped them? His heart sunk as he realized what the cracking noise was. His wand. Possibly a bone or two as well but he could feel his wand breaking moreso than they. He knew in his heart it had snapped.
It was hard to move as he shifted to lean against something solid, holding Ondina as best he child while trying not to put to much pressure on her wounds. He leaned his head down to put an hear to her chest. Heart still beating, that was good. But her chest had stopped rising and falling. She had stopped breathing. His eyes widened as he pulled back, "R-Rose? Help. Someone help!" He had gone past logical thinking, the worry was taking over his ability to function. Scorpius always thought logically, always... until now.

Rose took a second now that they had reunited with Scorpius and Ondina to assess Albus's injuries. "Your arm is definitely broken," she said through a few coughs from the smoke. She dabbed at the gash on his head one more time, the cloth soaking more in blood. He needed to get to the nurse immediately, and that was if his wounds weren't severe enough for St. Mungo's and at this point, who knew. She was going to get him out. She turned to look at Scorpius then, who she only just make out even though he was feet in front of her. Then she felt Albus let go of her, and she turned back to him. He was on the ground now, looking in more pain than she had ever seen anyone before. Immediately, she was beside him. "No," she said sternly. "I am not leaving you." She placed a hand on his back and the other on his chest as he sat there on the ground. "Albus... Scorpius, I think he has a broken-" she had spoke the same exact time Scorpius had spoken and the two of them were interrupted by a falling piece of ceiling. Rose could have sworn she heard some distant yelling as it fell but she believed it to be Scorpius as he seemed to dodge the falling debris. Her heart felt as it it stopped momentarily...
The smoke slowly began to subside again and where Scorpius and Ondina had stood there was now larger debris. Her eyes widened. "SCORPIUS!" She called out. Silence for a moment and panic was beginning to rise. Then... she heard him. But it didn't sound like him. Something was wrong. Something was incredibly wrong. Was Ondina okay!? "I'm here! We're right here!" She called back to him. She didn't know if she could climb the debris between them, much less with an injured Albus. But she wasn't leaving him. Rose turned back around. "Albus, are you-" she coughed again. "Are you okay?" She asked him. "We're gonna get out of here. Someone will be here soon. Neville will come," she said, mostly to remind herself. There was no way Neville would ever let a situation like this go unnoticed for long.

Cass was just preparing some more medicinal potions to have in the Hospital Wings stock when he heard a strange sound in the distance he stopped, shutting the door to his office behind him before moving to the window, leaning out to look in the direction of the sound. He could see the smoke from there, though he couldn't tell how much internal damage had been done. Still, he knew it was bad and that he and Caroline would have some serious work to do today. He started to move away from the window in order to go warn his boss and go help, but something stopped him. A faint trickle of green sparks headed straight for him. His eyes widened as he realized what this meant. She wasn't even in good enough shape to send the sparks as turtles. He knew Ondina well enough to know that she wouldn't send a half-formed message unless it was an emergency. A serious emergency. He didn't even stop by Carolines office as he summoned his broom to him and zoomed out the open window. Calling other professors to help would have been wise but... his brain was on one straight and narrow track at the moment. To find her. He arrived a few floors below the wreckage, knowing he shouldn't just burst in without being prepared. He tossed his broom aside as students ran past him in many directions. Had Elaine planned some sort of midday attack that he didn't know about? He ran up the stairs until the real issue was before him. His hands flew to protect his eyes from the smoke as he quickly muttered a spell, causing a bubble of fresh air to float around his head. Another spell and a visual path was cleared ahead. First, he saw Desirae and Elaine, struggling to escape the rubble and looking just as confused as everyone else. He turned to his right and saw a blurry shape-someone struggling to lift another person off the ground. He moved toward them. When he finally reached them the picture became clear. He could feel his blood start to boil as he took in the blood on her face and body, the gruesome leg, her chest barely moving... no, not moving at all. He was there in a split second, lifting his wand, "wingardium leviosa," he called and Ondina was suspended in mid air, pulled out of Scorpius's struggling arms and into his. "What is the matter with you!? You of all people should know-," he started, his voice hoarse and low. He could feel his anger starting to shape, ready to burst. Scorpius looked pretty beaten up too, and he knew his first instinct should have been to help him, but all he felt at the moment was rage. "you better have a good explanation for this," He tried to blink back the brewing thoughts of ripping this kid apart and focus on the task at hand. He conjured up breathing bubbles for Ondia and Scorpius before finally finding the will to speak. "But for now, get moving," he didn't wait for a response from the broken looking Malfoy as he turned away from him, moving back the way he came. By now someone must have called for help, but he didn't have time to think about that. He thought about Desirae and Elaine, struggling not too far away. He couldn't carry seven people at once. Plus, Ondina was the only one he knew of that had serious health issues that would be made even worse by this smoke. No, he needed to get her clear of the bad air before he tried to get her breathing again. There wasn't much obstructing their path, and he had no idea that Albus and Rose were left behind. He moved through, creating a small path that led to the safety of the hallway. He continued further down the tower until he was as far from the smoke and in clean air. Without skipping a beat he lowered Ondina to the ground, removed the bubble charm from her own face and his and started to get to work. The first thing he would do was try to clear the smoke out of her airway. He didn't have any sort of asthma medication on him, and he cursed under his breath. How could he have been so stupid? He should always have that on him. Especially when she was calling for help. He wasn't aware or not as to whether anyone else was beside him, but he didn't turn to look. He tried numerous spells, pushed on her chest in hopes of releasing anything obstructing her airway. It wasn't just that though. Sure there was smoke and dust in there but this was different. Asthma was different. He clenched his fists, slamming them into the ground on either side of Ondina. Okay, okay. Getting angry wasn't helping her.
