Desi made it a point to try and spend some individual time with her younger sisters. They knew her secret, of course, family was important. Still, she felt as though she didn't know Braelynn as much as she'd like to. So, she invited her to a little 'tea time' of sorts near the pond. The pond was frozen for winter but Desi had set up a nice small outdoor couch with lots of blankets and pillows to warm up in. Beside the couch there was a steaming kettle of hot chocolate with two cups on saucers beside it.
She smiled at her little stage and took a seat, not getting too comfortable in order to stand when her sister arrived. She had requested this little get together several days ago, and of course Bay didn't say no! They were sisters. Plus, Desi was very hard to say no to.
She turned around with a graceful smile as she heard someone approaching. If it was anyone other than her sister it would be easy to ask them to leave. If it was Braelynn, she would stand.

Braelynn adored her sisters. They were the only sisters she'd ever have, after all. But, that didn't mean she.. approved of what Desirae was doing. The oldest Rousseau sister had always been dark, but ever since they arrived at Hogwarts... It scared her, what Desirae was becoming. She should turn her in, go to the Headmaster and tell him everything she knew. But she couldn't betray her sister like that. That scared her even more...
Desi had invited Bay out to the pond for a 'tea party'. Just the two of them, the third Rousseau sister no where in sight. Maybe this would be a good time to tell Desirae how she felt, that she was worried for her, that she'd end up getting hurt if she continued this path. Desirae would listen, wouldn't she? Desi trusted her, after all. So, gathering her courage, Braelynn went to meet her sister. The older Rousseau girl had quite the luxurious set up, but that wasn't surprising. It reminded her a bit of home.
Braelynn smiled genuinely when she spotted her sister, and picked up her pace. "Desi." She greeted warmly. Yes... Desirae terrified her... But she loved her sister dearly.

Desirae stood as her sister approached, reaching out to kiss both of her sisters cheeks in greeting. "Braelynn, I'm glad you could make it!" she said with a perky smile and a little chuckle She gestured toward the set up and moving to take a seat on the little couch. She then turned toward Braelynn while simultaneously allowing her charm on the pot to work on it's own and pour the hot choco for them. "Cream?" she asked as a dollop of creamed appeared on her own cup. Desirae liked things sweet, almost too sweet for most peoples taste.
"I must say, Braelynn, I've been rather busy as of late. I'm sorry we haven't been able to talk much," and she meant it, too. She loved her sister, both of her sisters. She knew that there was a possibility that she would lose one or both of her sisters when her and Elaine finally decided to out themselves in their cause and run off with the rest of their team. She wanted to be able to stay in touch with them but... she was unsure yet as to who she could trust.

"I wouldn't miss it." Braelynn responded, and meant it. Taking a seat on the other side of the couch, the girl instantly wrapped one of the blankets around her legs. It was march, but it was still cold. "Just a little." While Bay liked sweets, she didn't enjoy them as much as Desirae. As her sister prepared the hot coco, Braelynn took in the scene around them. She'd picked a good spot, secluded, so they wouldn't be interrupted.
The girl smiled as Desirae spoke. "It's alright. I haven't had much time either." She had been busy. Between classes, studying and Zander... Of course she couldn't tell Desirae the last reason. He was a pureblood, she'd come to learn, but he wasn't the one her parents had promised her to. She wasn't sure if Desirae would understand, or approve. And if she didn't approve.... "You've been well though?" She asked, partly to be courteous, partly to distract her from her thoughts.

Desirae smiled and graciously poured just a little cream into her sisters cup. She understood that they were both busy, even though they were in the same house. Desi nodded, "I have! Elaine and I have been meeting a lot of great new people lately," she chuckled at the thought. They've recently recruited Cassius, the assistant nurse and there were many others that Desi had her eye on. She liked her job as recruiter, it was fun and it gave her something to think about, something to calculate. "Been practicing a bit of dueling as well. I'm not much of a fighter, as you know," no, Desi always considered herself a 'lover' not a 'fighter', "but it's best to know how to defend oneself," she added.
"So," she continued, taking a sip of her drink before moving on, "I hear you've been spending some time with a boy lately. Who is it, then?" of course Desi knew who it was. It wasn't like her spiders would keep that information from her. Still, it was fun to watch her sister squirm as she no doubt would, even if it was only done subtly.

Braelynn smiled a little more genuinely as she accepted the mug from her eldest sister. Before Zander, the only ones that had ever seen the smile, those seldom, were Desirae and Adalyn. Since meeting him though... It was becoming easier and easier to be more honest with herself and her feelings. When Desirae brought up Elaine though, that smile disappeared, as if it had never existed. Her gaze dropped to her cup, focusing on the steam it was giving off. "That's... good." She forced herself to say, refusing to raise her gaze as she spoke. Quickly, she took a sip, to try and cover her reluctance. It wasn't exactly a secret that Braelynn wasn't comfortable with what was going on... But it was just as well known that the girl would do anything Desirae asked of her. The topic change was a nice relief, and thankfully it was a subject Braelynn could comfortably comment on. "If you'd like, you could come to the next dueling club meeting." She offered. Out of the three Rousseau girls, Braelynn was the best dueler, but that wasn't surprising considering her rank in the club. Up until now though, thankfully Desirae and Elaine hadn't considered using that to their advantage.
Braelynn almost choked when Desirae mentioned a boy. Her eyes went wide, her mind reeling. How? How did Desirae know? She thought she'd been so careful... She took a moment to force her expression to relax, try and not give away the turmoil of emotions raging inside. "A Hufflepuff boy. It's nothing really, just good conversation.." She lied. How much did Desirae know? And, even more important, what was she going to do with the knowledge?

As Braelynn invited Desirae to come the next dueling club meeting, Bay tilted her head to one side. She didn’t even consider something like this. Asking her sister who was an incredible dueler for some pointers. ”Well, isn’t that an idea,” she mused, taking a long sip of her hot chocolate. She gently lowered the cup into her lap before speaking again, ”I think that’s a great idea. Some one on one could also be in order I think!” she giggled. Bay had really dug herself a delightful little hole though by reminding Desi of her dueling skills...
Well, Desi would worry about that later. More important things were at hand. Like Zander Lloyd.
”Oh? He’s quite interested in music I hear. Pray tell, does he have knowledge of anything else? I mean, you know nothing about music. What could you possibly have in common with him?” her voice was calm as another soft chuckle escaped her lips. She could tell Bay was squirming, and she didn’t mind. She knew she had to do this. Zander was not someone a Rosseau should be sneaking around with.

Braelynn didn't like the tone Desirae's voice had taken, or that look on her face. Whenever she saw them, it usually meant bad news, either for Bay or someone else. So, Bay just put on a cordial smile, masking her insecurity at her sister's reaction, and took a sip from her hot coco. "I think you'd be a natural dueler, Desi." She finally complimented, and meant it. Desirae was clever, she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw after all!
The youngest Rousseau girl did not like the turn of the conversation to Zander. Of course Desirae didn't approve of the boy... But she'd at least hoped her oldest sister wouldn't bother. That maybe, she'd just think the growing friendship would be fine to ignore, and leave them be. How naive Bay was to have thought that. She pursed her lips tightly together as her sister pushed the subject. The statement of Bay not knowing anything about music wasn't exactly true anymore. She knew a little, Zander having taught her. Heaven forbid she tell Desirae that though! She tried to hid her discomfort by taking another sip, trying to come up with some believable lie that would end the conversation. "It's... nothing serious." She finally muttered submissively. Zander was a bright, carefree spirit, untouched by the darkness that haunted her. And she desperately wanted to keep it that way.

"Aw, thanks!" Desi said with faux modesty as Bay said that she would be a natural dueler. Truthfully Desi didn't see that in herself, but she would always take a compliment. Desi watched calmly as Bay took a sip of her drink before answering her question about the Lloyd boy. She muttered, which Desi didn't find surprising. Desi was indeed threatening the boy, that wasn't any secret. Sure she did it subtly and with the smile of a loving sister, but it was still a threat. Braelynn was making a mistake, and Desirae wasn't about to let that happen.
"Well, good. Have your fun," she chuckled, looking down into her cup to stir it slightly using some simple, nonverbal magic. She looked back up at her sister, her smile unwavering. "Tell me, how are things going with that little Amimagus ability of yours? Such a useful thing to have, really," she asked, easily changing the subject. She may as well give Bay a chance to breathe between important topics. Topics like strange boyfriends and dueling training. Topics like Elains plan and the future of the sisters.

Braelynn sucked in a quick breath at those words. Have your fun. It was her own response, of sorts. Silently voicing that she understood. And she did. In that moment she realized just how much Desirae knew. She knew how much time she spent with Zander, and she had a dang good idea what her feelings for the boy were. She also knew that Bay's feelings weren't swayed easily, merely... manipulated. It'd been that way her whole life. She'd never been okay with her sisters actions, but they'd gotten her to play along with their schemes. Because they'd learned that she would do anything for her loved ones. At first, she'd played along because it was her family who asked. How could she tell them no? Now that there were growing feelings elsewhere, namely with a Hufflepuff boy, he had just become leverage.
She shifted a little as the topic changed, her fingers lacing in the fibers of the blanket on her lap. Desirae happened to be one of the few she'd told about her interest in becoming an Animagi. It had been a year since she first mentioned it to her sister. Since then, she'd periodically given her sister updates on her progress. but she'd yet to tell her that she'd finally accomplished the feat. "Mastered... Well, I wouldn't quite say mastered, but completed. It's the same as my patronus, a fenec fox." She replied, feeling a swell of pride. Becoming an Animagi was a tedious, and complicated process. And she had accomplished it. Why shouldn't she feel proud of the achievement? If only she knew what Desirae was thinking at that very moment...

As soon as Braelynn revealed that she had completed her animagi training, Desi lifted both of her gloved hands to applaud. "That's my, Braelynn! How very exciting. I'd ask you to transform now but... I fear that it would be inconvenient for you," she chuckled. Not that she truly minded inconveniencing people, but Bay was her sister and she was at least a little more courteous toward her. "I, personally, don't think I have the attention span for that sort of thing. You've always been good at mastering the difficult things in life, however," which was true. It was no secret that Braelynn didn't agree with Adalyn and Desiraes tactics and ideals, but the youngest sister had put up with it and taken part in it for years.
Family was most important, after all.
"So, who taught you, anyway?" no doubt Braelynn had some sort of Professor help, right? Though, knowing the Rosseaus, it was possible that she had just figured it out all on her own. Desi wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

Braelynn smiled shyly at her sister's praise, her cheeks turning a soft pink. She'd never admit it, but one of her deepest desires was her family's approval and praise. Not just her parents though, Desirae and Adalyn's as well. "If you are the one asking, it would never be an inconvenience, Desirae." She softly responded. Her smile brightened a bit more as her sister continued. Braelynn had done everything she could throughout the years to live up to the Rousseau name. And all that hard work had paid off... Though one (rather unfortunate) outcome was that all this hard work had proven to Desirae how useful the youngest girl was. Would things have been different if she hadn't done all that? If she'd turned out to be useless and whimsical, would she have been free of the Purifiers? She chose not to dwell on the thought.
Taking another sip from her cup, Braelynn, tilted her head to the side a little. "I asked Professor Rose about it a few times, but I don't think she suspected I was actually trying to become an Animagus. But other then that.... I suppose you would say books were my teacher." She'd found everything she could on the subject, studying everything she could get her hands on. She was intending to register with the Ministry, of course, but hadn't quite gotten to it yet.

Desi smiled sweetly at her sisters response. She was glad that Braelynn was willing to take her requests and do what she asked. Bay was a very useful person, and Desi wasn't going to forget that. Elaine had questioned her once that if Bay decided to finally switch sides, would Desi be able to remove her... as in would Desi be able to kill her own sister. Desi didn't respond. She had never thought about it before, and when the thought crept up she pushed it aside. That wasn't going to happen. Braelynn was loyal to her, and always would be. The idea of anything else was laughable. Bay was hers, she was Bays. That was that.
Even though Adalyn was the darker of the twins, Desi had always felt a strong connection to Braelynn. Maybe it was because of her power, or her ability to keep a secret, she didn't know. But, it was there and she wasn't going to lose her to some Hufflepuff poetry writing fool with a guitar.
"Books! You did this on your own, then? You are even more impressive than I imagined, Bay," she said with a small giggle. "I'm glad you are so dedicated. This is an important virtue to have."

Braelynn's cheeks turned a soft pink at her sister's praise, a small smile touching her lips. She couldn't help it, that swell of pride at the compliment. She didn't want to be involved in Desirae's evil schemes, but that didn't mean she didn't want to be.... well, useful. That she didn't want to make her eldest sister proud. Bay wouldn't call herself unusually bright, instead she considered herself dedicated. If she couldn't do something, she just kept practicing until she finally could. She'd always been like that, even as a child. She just didn't give up, ever. And it was that trait that got her to where she was now. A talented young witch, who'd not only managed to becoming the Dueling club co-captain, but also unlock the mysteries of Animagus magic before turning 17 years old.
"I believe anyone can learn to be brilliant if they are dedicated enough." She quietly responded, that faint blush still present. She raised her cup to take another sip but it was empty. Upon this realization, she looked at her sister, and held the cup up. "Is there anymore hot chocolate left?"
And so their little tea party continued, snow soon beginning to fall. Neither sister cared though. It was so calm and peaceful.... It would be a long time until they had another moment like this...
