It had been two days since Zanders world had been turned upside down by the girl he met on the staircase. He had taken his time deciding how to approach her again. What had she seen that caused her to disappear so rapidly last time? No matter, he now stood casually in a hallway on the fifth floor, knowing that she'd have to leave or come to the Ravenclaw Common Room eventually. He was considering trying to come up with an excuse as to why he was there, but decided to just be honest about it. He wanted to see her, what was so wrong with that? Plus, she still owed him a guitar session and he wasn't going to forget that. No, they would go somewhere bright and he would bring his guitar and teach her a happy song about smiles and sunshine. Or something like that...
He couldn't deny the fact that his muse had been struck since he saw her. Music was pouring out of his hands even more constantly than before. It was probably getting even more annoying to his housemates but he didn't care. He had been struck by cupids arrow and wasn't going to stop making beautiful music just because people got cranky.
Suddenly he was pulled out of his thoughts when he saw a glimpse of brown hair coming his direction... was it her?

Braelynn was in the library, trying to study and get a head start on the latest homework assignments. It was no use though, her thoughts kept wandering to him. Zander Lloyd, the boy she'd met a few days ago. A peculiar Hufflepuff who, to be honest, was like a breath of fresh air. Ever since her quick retreat, she'd desperately wanted to see him again. But it seemed like ever chance she found, there was one of her sisters or.. him. She couldn't approach Zander when they were around. She didn't know how they would react. What they might do to him... Why was she so concerned for his safety though?
She closed the book in front of her, and covered her face with her hands, trying to think. What was she supposed to do? Stay away from him? Pretend nothing had happened? How could she? It was as if Zander had left a hand print on her heart. It burned every time he came to mind, burned with a desire to go and find him. Maybe... Maybe she could ask his brother, Ranger, to pass a message to him. Ranger was in her year, and they shared a few classes. She could ask him to meet her somewhere, somewhere she knew they wouldn't be found. Bay couldn't help the smile that came from the idea. It sounded so silly, and childish...
Dropping her hands to her lap, she took a deep breath, to erase that smile. Maybe. Maybe she'd do that. But seeing as studying was absolutely futile now, she might as well head back to the common room. The other Ravenclaws she'd bee studying with were already gone, leaving the girl alone. Most people wouldn't dare wandering alone now a days. With the attacks... Braelynn knew better, even though she wished she didn't. She assumed she was safe... With her bag packed, she left the library.
She was almost to the common room when she spotted Zander. She stopped in her tracks. He was standing there, with that endearingly aloof look of his, as if without a care in the world. It made her smile a little. How she wished she could be so carefree. Before she moved, she quickly scanned the area. It was clear. Tucking her hair behind her ear, she closed the distance between them without a second thought. "Zander, what are you doing up here?" At long last, she'd caught him alone, away from any unwanted attention.

Zander straightened up as it became clear that it was indeed Bay, and that she was indeed approaching him. "Braylnn hey," he started to say right over her asking him what he was doing up there. "Oh I-erh-I came to see you," he wasn't very good at lying so he may as well just tell the truth. "Figure you owe me an afternoon with a little guitar lesson?" he said, gaining his confidence back as he raised an eyebrow, gesturing with his thumb to the guitar that was slung in a case over his shoulders. He always carried it with him, you never knew when you were going to run into a pretty girl and need to whip out a song or two. Or in this case, teach a song or two.
She held a hand out to her, "well, are you in?" she could have lot's of homework to do, sure. He did. But that wasn't the point. The point was that he hadn't been able to spend more time with her the other day and he felt as if a part of him was missing since then. If he didn't get to spend that time with her... well, he may as well just go insane.
Besides, what else were you supposed to do when you'd found your muse?

I came to see you. Braelynn felt her stoic mask break, a real smile escaping. It made her unbelievably happy hearing him admit it. His honesty was refreshing and charming. "You did?" She found herself asking, that smile growing a little more. As he continued with more confidence, it was like a weight was lifted off her chest. That's right, she had agreed to a guitar lesson last time. While she was excited to learn something new, it was the idea of being able to spend more time with Zander that she really cared about.
"I'm in." Bay agreed quickly, quicker then she'd meant. She was a little slower to take his outstretched hand though. Not because she didn't want to, but she didn't want to seem to eager or desperate. When their fingers touched, Bay felt a surge of warmth. As if something deep inside was saying that this was right, that this was where she was supposed to be... It made her almost giddy smile soften. "This way." She ordered, leading him to the spot she'd meant to take him a few days before.
It was one of the many unused classrooms throughout the school. This particular one was bright and airy, perched in a corner of the fifth floor that permitted more windows then normal. Braelynn had found the room a year ago, and since then had solely used it when she needed time away from her sisters. She loved them dearly, but sometimes, especially recently, she had needed time away from them. Time to think, and understand her feelings. While she was positive other students knew about the room and used it from time to time, she'd never personally showed it to anyone. Except for Zander. "Would here work?" she asked, looking back at him with a warm smile. Her gaze dropped to their clasped hands and almost blushed at the intimate act, but didn't let go.

Zander smiled and gave a nod as Bay spoke with that sweet smile, asking if he really did come to see her. Why else would he be up there? In all honesty, he usually avoided other houses common rooms. There were crazy people everywhere. When she said she was in, Zander felt a jolt of electricity go through him. But that was nothing compared to the feeling he got when their hands touch. He clasped her hand gently as she reached out to him and let her lead him onward with a dazed look in his eyes.
As they arrived in the classroom, Zander nodded in approval. "This is perfect, good acoustics too," he said as he heard the way his voice slightly carried about the room. He glanced back at her, catching the look on her face when she looked at their clasped hands. She didn't let go, however, and he didn't want to. However, you couldn't play guitar and hold hands at the same time. He looked down at their hands, then back up at her face before finally sliding his hand away from hers. "Let's get to it," he said, his voice soft for a moment.
He straightened up, smiling brightly as he whipped his guitar around and opened the case, pulling the instrument out. "Okay erh... here, have a seat on this desk," he said, gesturing to one beside him.

Zander just had a way of breaking through the defense Braelynn tried to put up. So, when he smiled and nodded in response to her question, her own smile brightened. It made her happy that someone would say that about her. That someone wasn't intimidated to get to close to her because of her sisters.
Braelynn saw that look when they were faced with letting go of each other's hand. It was the same as her own. He seemed to have more resolve then her though, and after another moment, reluctantly let go. She met this gaze after, that soft response resonating through her entire body. She was sure now. She wasn't the only one that felt... something. What it was though, that was the real question. She clasped her hands behind her back, and nodded. Her hand still felt warm,..
The girl turned away from him as he got everything ready, pretending to be distracted by something out the window. When he finally spoke, she looked back, both eyebrows raised, and eyes a little wide. "On the desk?" She repeated, as if to make sure she'd heard correctly. She glanced at the desk in question. It seems so simple, but to her, who lived life by the rules, and always on the look out for anything her parents wouldn't deem appropriate? Well, from her reaction it was easy to tell she didn't do that often. Looking back at Zander though, that bright smile made her decision for her as her own responded. Without any more hesitation, she took a seat on the desk, first ensuring there wasn't any chance of her skirt showing anything.
@zander ((You know, the more I think about it, it's probably the room of requirements XD Where else would Bay be able to hide from her sisters?))

Zander couldn't help but smile at her hesitation and at the sweet way she stared at the desk. He wasn't raised anywhere near the same way Bay was. No sense of propriety or table manners was heavily practiced in his household. Sure they weren't total slobs, but they weren't fancy in any regard. Zander nodded as she finally did it and took a step toward her. He moved to stand beside her, with his shoulder slightly behind hers as he lifted the guitar over her head with both hands. "Okay, just let it rest on your lap," he said as he lowered the guitar til it was on place. "Okay, your left hand goes up here on the neck. That's where you press on the strings to create the notes," he lifted her left hand with his own, showing her how to bend her hand around the neck of the guitar.
He was nervous, to say the least. Her hands were so elegant, so soft, so unfamiliar. He placed his fingers over hers, spreading them out in order to get ready for the next instructions, "we'll start with the C chord. It's the easiest one, and one of the best. Now, your right and strum like... like this," he reached his right arm around her, stepping back even further into the desk in order to strum the guitar for her. As soon as he showed her he pulled his arm back, stepping away just a little again, but not taking his hand off her left at the guitars neck. "Okay, try it. Press down on the strings here, and strum like I showed you."

Braelynn felt her cheeks grow warm, slightly turning pink from a blush as Zander showed her what to do. She was all to aware of how close he was as he lowered the guitar into her lap and took her left hand into his own to show her where to put it. Being with Zander like this felt so comfortable, natural and... safe. Something she hadn't felt in a long time. She'd almost forgotten what it felt like. A small smile graced her lips as he guided her fingers across the strings, showing her the first chord. As his other arm came around to show her how to strum though, she felt her heart quicken. Not because of the guitar, of course, but because he was that much closer.
She almost missed what he said after, his remark only registering after he'd withdrawn his other arm to let her strum the guitar herself. Right, she should be focusing on that, and not him. "Oh, right." She finally muttered, though was still slightly stunned. She brought her hand up to strum the guitar, but stopped when she realized she was forgetting a step. Her left hand. His own still covered it, keeping her fingers in place so she could press down on the strings easier. As she pressed down on them, the strings dug into her un-calloused fingers. Finally, and hesitatingly, she strum the guitar. It didn't sound quite the same as his, obviously, but it was her first time handling the instrument! A brighter smile spread across her lips. She turned her head so she could look at him, that smile softening. "You... said that was the c chord?" She asked, because, for some reason she felt like she had to say something, if only to try and calm her raising heart.

She strummed the guitar. It was weak and gentle, but that was to be expected. He smiled even wider as she turned to face him. Their faces were incredibly close, and he was not unaware of that. Still, as she broke the silence, he managed to turn away from her to chuckle. "Exactly. You've got to be a little more aggressive though," he said, turning back to her once more. "With your left hand you have to push down on the strings. I know it can kind of hurt at first, but you'll get used to it. See?" he released her left hand and held up his own, where the fingertips were calloused and slightly bruised from years of playing. He almost replaced his hand on hers, but hesitated. He had already taken his hand away, now he just kind of had to... let it hover awkwardly in the air?
"Here, try another chord," he finally said, bringing his hand back over hers trying to push past the hesitation to move her fingers to new strings and new frets. "This is the D chord. It's a pretty standard one too. I like it. Okay, remember to push down hard and them strum with the fingernails not your fingers," he instructed. once her fingers were in place, he lifted his hands from hers a little so she could do it on her own. He didn't fully pull away though. he let his fingers hover there still, barely touching her knuckles.

Braelynn did something she didn't think was still in her at his aggressive comment. She made a sour face, and without realizing it too. "I'm not aggressive." She admitted. Some people thought she was, because of the dueling club and her sisters. While her sisters she had little explanation for, dueling at least she could respond to. It wasn't about aggression. It was about control and ingenuity.
Her gaze followed his own as he offered his hand for examination. They were strong hands, working hands. She couldn't help but glance at her own graceful fingers, to compare her own to his. They looked so delicate and dainty in compared to his. "I think I still have a long way to go before it doesn't hurt a little." She smiled sheepishly. Her upbringing hadn't given her much chance to work with her hands, except for 'respectable' pass times. Which, sadly, for her had been being pretty and quiet.
He didn't return his hand to hers, only touched her own long enough to put her fingers into position. She felt a tinge of longing, missing it already. Following his instructions, with a very determined look, she pressed own on the strings and strummed with her other hand. It was a little louder, with slightly more confidence.

When Bay made that face, and claimed she wasn't aggressive, Zander merely chuckled. "Fine, more passionate then," he said with a little smirk. It was true, though. Passion could easily lead to the strength she needed to complete the chord. And clearly he was only talking about music, obviously.
As she said she had more work to stop the strings from hurting, he furrowed his brow a little. He didn't like the idea of her in pain, even in a tiny bit of it! But, he let her play anyway, knowing that this was something important. At least, to him it was. Everyone had to go through some pain to find the eventual happiness they wanted, right? Geez, his thoughts were getting deep for simple guitar lessons.
As she played the chord, the sound came out stronger and he grinned widely. "See! You're a natural already, Lynn-" well, that nickname came out of nowhere. He felt his face turn bright red as his cheeks warm. He turned away from her, embarrassed.
What happened to this confident air? His wild reckless abandon? Who was the blushing, soft spoken person who was coming up with cute nicknames?

Braelynn didn't respond to his 'more passionate' comment, instead just offered a small smile. Part of her wanted to say she wasn't passionate either. People who knew her would agree to that statement. In all reality though, she was. Or... She wanted to be. She wanted to be open and honest about herself with people. With Zander, especially. But she'd kept everything bottled up so long... Could she ever let them out?
The girl had never had many nicknames growing up. It was always Bay, or Braelynn. So, to hear Zander call her neither of those was surprising. She looked at him, eyes a little wider then usual. Had she heard right? Maybe she'd just missed the fist half of her name? The way his cheeks flushed and he looked away though told the truth. He had, indeed, called her Lynn. Her own cheeks turned pink then. "I don't mind.... Being called Lynn." She finally responded with a shy smile. It was cute, and... to be honest she didn't feel like 'Braelynn Rousseau' when he said it. She felt like the person she wanted desperately to be, rather then the person she was.

Zander smiled, "well okay then. Lynn it is," he chuckled. He couldn't deny that burning feeling in his chest, wanting to lean in and close the gap between them. But hey, this was only their second time spending any time together. With other girls he may of done that, once or twice, but not with Braelynn... this was different. This was something that he'd never experienced before. Actually caring about taking the time to get to know her, taking the time to let her get to know him. He wanted to know everything. Her flaws, her accomplishments, her quirks... he was thirsty for all of it--parched. He decided then, in that moment looking into her eyes with their hands around the guitar, that he was going to dedicate as much time as possible to learning about this girl. To maing sure that it was clear how much he... well, he just knew she was a part of his future.
A big part.
"Anyway," he cleared his throat, "let's continue, eh?" he said, leading into the rest of a sweet lesson full of sweet glances and grazing fingertips on the strings.
