hello there, my name is lorcan scamander but you can call me .... lorcan. i'm 17 so that makes me a 6th year at Hogwarts, where I reside in gryffindor house. You could say I'm brave, daring, & chivalrous but I personally think that I am manipulative, fickle, and confident. People say I look a lot like booboo stewart, but I don't really see it...

appearance:
Lorcan takes after his father far more then his mother. From his tanned skin, and dark eyes, to his dark locks, there is little resemblance between mother and son. Lorcan, much to his father's displeasure, has grown his hair out past his shoulders and pierced one of his ears. But hey, he has a great smolder when a girl he's interested in is nearby...

girls
flirting
finding a new 'toy' (basically people he finds interesting)

all things creature related (He's the son of magizoologists, it's expected.)
Arithmancy (he refuses to admit it though.)
studying (again, he flat our refuses to admit it!)
photography
muggles (he thinks their inventions are entertaining.)
Herbology
Writing (again... you aren't allowed to know.)
dislikes:
People commenting on his 'not so desired' interests. (Basically all the ones he doesn't want people to know about.)
Being rejected by girls

Sweets
Sleeping
first years
boxing (He does it though, of course)
Formal clothes
Quidditch (He'll play though...)
erised:
If you ask him, Lorcan will say he wants to be a Magizoologist, like his parents, or a Dragonologist. In reality, Lorcan wants to be an author or historian... He'd especially like to follow his Great grandfather's footsteps and write a book that changes the world.
amortentia:
parchment, parsley, and home made bread... I MEAN! Camp fire smoke, and whisky...
boggart:
Lorcan has this irrational fear that people will find out who he really is, and treat him differently for it.
Serious harm/death coming to Lysander.
That he'll actually start to like a girl. (basically growing an attachment.)
overall personality:
Lorcan is a complicated individual , to be honest! Though, only those that really know him understand this because of the mask he wears...
When you meet him, he comes off as... well a play boy jock, to be honest! He'll flirt with any good looking girl, single or taken. He's dated more then his fair share during school, but the moment another girl catches his interest, he'll trade in his current date for a 'newer' model. He just never grows attached to any of them, and feels little reason to keep anything around he's outgrown. In fact, he's actually like that with everything. When something catches his interest, he just has to have it, and when he's done with it, he'll toss it aside like trash. Only a few things in his life have been constant, which is probably where this attitude comes from. Everything is disposable to him.
Lorcan is very confident, smug, and self centered. He cares little for other people, and puts his, and Lysander's, interests above everything else. He's also rather selfish, refusing to act unless there is some sort of benefit to him. Rarely will he actually preform an act of kindness just because it's the right thing to do.
The boy is very manipulative, and enjoys playing games far to much. He always has an end goal in mind, and he's clever enough to to get what he wants. And when he's bored? Well, that's usually the time to stay clear of him....
He is a brave fellow though. When he does grow attached to someone (like Lysander...), there is nothing that will stop him from protecting it. Maybe that's why he was sorted into Gryffindor. The hat understood just how deeply devoted he could become to others. These deep attachments scare him though, and he tries to avoid them at all costs.
Lystander has always been the exception though. Lorcan is unusually close to his younger twin brother, and would do anything for him. For most his life, he considered Lysander as his only friend, and refused to play with any other children. Hogwarts, of course, has changed this attitude a little, but not entirely.
Some have accused the boy of being a jock. He spends so much time focusing on his physical shape, and expresses little interest in learning from books. In reality he's quite the book worm. He loves to learn, and is especially good with writing and numbers. He refuses to admit it to though, and does whatever it takes to make sure no one finds out. He'll intentionally get the answer wrong in class or on his homework to ensure he doesn't get any marks that would classify him as a 'nerd'. So, even though he secretly hates it, Lorcan tries to focus his time and energy on dueling, quidditch, flying, and other 'suitable' pass times. He likes the way people treat him right now, and he doesn't want that to change...

personal history
mother:
Luna Scamander nee Lovegood, magizoologist, 42
father:
Rolf Scamander, magizoologist, 48
siblings:
Lysander Scamander, 17 (younger twin brother)
pets:
Since his great grandfather raised Kneazles, Lorcan received a silver half Kneazle/half cat for his sixth birthday. To his horror, his mother named it 'Wrackspurt', and the creature has refused to respond to any other name since.
history:
Lorcan and his brother's existence is something that baffles many people. After all, they are the twin sons of Luna Lovegood, who had been mercilessly nicknamed 'loony' during her school years. Who would marry her? Marry she did though, and not to just anyone. During her many adventures as a Magizoologist she met the dark and charming Rolf Scamander, grandson of the famous Newt Scamander. They hit it off almost immediately, and were married a few short years later.
They had many dangerous, and crazy adventures together as they traveled the world, continuing Rolf's grandfather's work of discovering and studying magical creatures. It was during one of those adventures, somewhere in the Canadian tundra, that this family of two became four as they welcomed their twin boys to the world. Lorcan Dobby Scamander, named after the brave house elf that was killed during the last Wizarding world, was the elder of the pair. The name was meant to honor the house elf, but Lorcan never understood it, and has since come to slightly resent his middle name. You'd think having a family would finally bring the Scamanders back to England to settle down. That wasn't the case though and the twins' childhood was one of travel and adventure. And, when it was to dangerous, they were shipped off the spend some quality time with Grandpa Lovegood.
As you can imagine, their unorthodox upbringing was quite hard on the pair. Their only real 'friends' growing up were whatever creatures their parents were studying, and each other. Luna and Rolf tried to socialize the boys, organizing play dates with the children of Luna's school friends, but Lorcan just wasn't interested. He was standoffish to the Potter and Weasley kids, and wouldn't include them in any of his games. He would always demand that whatever child that wanted to play with them would have to tell them apart first. Sadly, they didn't see the Potters or Weasleys consistently enough for any of the other children to really learn the differences between the twins, so these 'games' continued for years.
The Scamander family was backpacking through China when they received the twins' Hogwarts letters. Lorcan wasn't pleased about the idea of being shipped off to boarding school. He cried, kicked, and screamed, but his parents still managed to get him on the Hogwarts Express, much to his dismay. It only got worse when he and his brother were sorted into different houses. For the first week Lorcan refused to speak to any of his housemates. As the year went on though, he slowly started to 'open up'. Well, not really. It was more like his other persona was born. The one that wanted nothing to do with learning, and saw people as toys for is amusement.
His six years were spent developing this persona and trying to keep people from seeing the real him. He's made 'friends', but even they don't know what he's really like. It's finally reached a point where he's struggling to decide just who he is, and where he fits into the world. With only a year of school left, will he be able to accept who he really is, or will he forever become the person everyone thinks he is?
