Ondina let out an angry huff as Scorpius tried to change the subject, pointing out her health. She knew that! She knew she should calm down! She knew that if she didn't pretty soon she wouldn't be able to breath at all! But right now the growing pain in her chest only added fuel to the fire. It felt good, for once, because she wanted to see that pleading and pain in his eyes. She wanted to hurt him. Something about that thought terrified her, but she'd come this far. She wasn't turning back now.
But then she just had to interfere.
Ondina clenched her teeth together, finally a touch of color returning to her face, her cheeks flushing an angry red as her gaze finally released Scorpius and focused on her cousin. "You just can't help it, can you? Always sticking your nose where it doesn't belong." She almost growled, her eyes narrowing. "Shove off, Rose, or he'll have to save you again." Well, THAT was unexpected, Ondina so brazenly threatening Rose. If it was Albus, no one would have batted an eye, but Rose? Out of all her cousins, Rose had always been the one that Ondina seemed most capable of tolerating.

Rose hadn't been entirely sure why Ondina had been pointing at her, but she had had a feeling. Seeing the look on Scorpius's face up closer, though, made her breath catch again. To see him in pain, no matter what the cause, hurt her more than she liked to admit. More than she ever hoped let anyone else know. Even standing there in front of the both of them she tried hard to mask her true emotions, hiding them behind a face that showed little emotion... until Ondina snapped at her.
Rose's eyes widened briefly before narrowing at her cousin as well. "Excuse me?" She asked incredulously. Rose had always gotten along amicably with her cousin, but there had always been a tension there that Rose had always been expecting would snap one day. She had never really been sure of what the cause may be until she had realized her feelings for Scorpius. Somehow in the end, she knew that would be the reason for their downfall.
The brunette took a step closer so that she was practically leaning up against the table. "Don't go pulling me into your relationship problems, Ondina," Rose said in a hushed tone directed at Ondina. For a brief moment, her eyes glanced toward Scorpius but she quickly averted them back to Ondina. "I'm sorry you're too insecure to keep it together!" It was heated, but it was about time their true feelings for one another came out. No matter who was listening.

Scorp couldn't handle the two girls yelling at each other. They were family! Family always was supposed to come first, at least in Scorps books. He looked back and forth between the girls for a moment before speaking, "Ondina, Rose- please, this isn't worth it," he said, the pleading heavy in his voice as his volume grew. There was no point in trying to keep this all hushed up anymore. Everyone was already staring at them... "I wanted to save you, I did," he pleaded again, turning toward Ondina, "I can't explain this, okay? But fighting with Rose isn't worth it," he turned back to make eye contact with Rose, "I'm not worth it."
It was almost as if he was trying to warn Rose, to tell her that he wasn't worth the trouble. He wasn't worth fighting with her family. Ondina Nell Weasley

"You pulled yourself in, or do you really think no one's seen those sad puppy dog eyes you get everytime you look at him?" Ondina hissed loudly, a mocking smile slowly stretching across her lips. Her gaze flickered to Scorpius then, that smile turning into a scowl as he interfered. When did he get a backbone? Oh right, when Rose came over. He'd been practically cowering before her entrance.
Her breath caught then, and Ondina knew she was pushing herself to far. If she didn't calm down, her throat would close completely soon. And passing out in the Great Hall, as dramatic as it sounded, was not something she was particularyly keen on doing. And when Scorpius said those words, that he wasn't worth it, she look at him again. Her eyes went ice cold. "You're right. You aren't."
She turned, storming out of the Great Hall then, trying to keep her breathing as even as posssible but anyone could see that each attempt to draw breath hurt more then the last.

Rose's eyes were fixated on Ondina and her mouth was formed into a tight line. If it were possible for humans to blow steam out of their nostrils, Rose's would have been steaming. She was absolutely furious with Ondina. It wasn't Rose's fault that Scorpius had chosen her over Ondina. Rose was disappointed in her cousin; that she couldn't just be happy that Scorpius had done so. He may have saved Rose's life, and the fact that Ondina was getting angry over it made Rose feel very unimportant to her cousin.
Rose almost missed Scorpius's pleading eyes when they made eye contact again, and she could see this was not what he wanted. Suddenly Rose couldn't imagine the embarrassment Scorpius must have been feeling and she felt ashamed of herself. She kept her eyes off of Ondina and even averted them from Scorpius as Ondina said her parting words. She didn't look up from the ground until Ondina had exited the Great Hall, when she finally let out a breath of relief that calmed her significantly.
The brunette glanced around them, seeing many pairs of eyes lingering on she and Scorpius before regaining her composure. "What was that about?" She asked, looking now at Scorpius trying desperately, as always, to ignore the awkward air around them.
