The school was under attack.

Sophia, bless her heart, had been in the Potions classroom, getting a little extra studying in before she needed to be back in her Common room when the fighting started. At the sound of yelling and explosions she packed her back, heading out. What was going on? Where was she even going? To the Common Room? That's probably where everyone would be heading, and it seemed liked the safest place. Almost immediately she was surrounded by students, all with the same idea. Letting out a startled gasp, she found herself trapped, forced upward to the main floor instead of towards the Hufflepuff common room. That was when she spotted him.

Mathieu.

Her heart stopped, eyes wide. Like her, he seemed caught in the chaos of what was going on. "Matty!" She yelled, trying desperately to get his attention. Why did she feel so... terrified? Like she had to reach him before something bad happened. Pushing her way through the crowd, she was only a few feet from him when she saw them. The men in the masks. Spells were suddenly flying every direction. It was pure chaos. The men were cold, and brutal, cursing anyone that got in their way. As they got closer she realized they weren't just reciting spells. They were saying names. Of students. Her eyes widened, they were hunting students. Specific ones it seemed. "Matty, come on!" She'd almost reached him, but then a rush of students, trying to escape, came between them, pushing Sophia away from the boy she'd been in love with since first year.

She was pushed right into the path of the men.

Sophia didn't have time to react, her brain and body shutting down as she watched that wand raise. Pointing directly at her. There was a flash of burning pain, and then nothing as everything went black...

Matty was just heading down the stairs of the Entrance Hall when it happened. He had been walking with another group of students, heading to the Great Hall for supper when an explosion echoed from above. They all froze and Matty's eyebrows rose in curiosity as he looked up toward the ceiling, wondering where the explosion could have occurred. Then as if on queue, men in masks exploded through the large oak doors and chaos was suddenly erupting through the Entrance Hall.

Instinctively, Matty pulled out his wand as students all began to scatter; heading into the Great Hall, back up the stairs, or down to the dungeons. Matty had to get to the dungeons... the Hufflepuff common room was down there. He needed to get to Sophia. He began to charge down the steps and quickly dodged a spell that came hurtling over his head and then he stopped dead in his tracks as one of the masked beings stood in his way. They raised their wand and Matty's eyes widened. His brain wasn't working fast enough to come up with a spell so, in a quick moment of spontaneity, Matty kicked forward his leg and landed it right between the man's thighs. He didn't stick around to see if the man fell over or not and just started to head toward the dungeons and then he saw her. Dark hair and yellow robes, there she was.

"Sophie!" Matty yelled through all of the noise, racing toward her. Spells were flying every which way between them and just as he was about to reach her, a wave of students came between them and he struggled to look over them to find the Hufflepuff. The crowd between them thinned long enough just in time for Matty to see one of the masked beings cast at Sophia and she fell limp. "SOPHIA!" He yelled over the heads of rushing students. He began to shove his way through them to reach her but watched in horror and helplessness as the man mounted a broom with Sophia and flew out of the oak doors.

Matty could feel his heart breaking as he stood rooted to his spot in the Entrance Hall, watching Sophia disappear in the distance over the grounds of Hogwarts. They had taken her. And Matty had no idea where.
