hello there, my name is lelia zaher but you can call me lia. i'm 36 so that makes me a graduate at an unnamed school in northern africa. If I went to Hogwarts I would have resided in ravenclaw house. You could say I'm intelligent, knowledgeable, & witty but I personally think that I am clever, clumsy, and protective. People say I look a lot like gal gadot, but I don't really see it...
lelia naddiya zaher
date of birth:
October 2nd 1986
she would have been in Ravenclaw
(soon to be) tea shopkeeper at St. Mungos
Typically, Lelia doesn't use a wand mch, but she does own one. English oak, 11 inches, sphinx tail hair
Lelia looks like her play by. She does have a couple tattoos as well. One on her left wrist of a bumblebee, a small German shepherd just above her heart, a steppe eagle on her right shoulder, and an intricate webbing of Egyptian lotuses on her lower back.
herbology/gardening tea baking hot weather/sand her husband Carson her daughter baylee (they like to call her bumblebee) traveling reading drawing tattoos
the cold fish being separated from her family accidentally breaking things concrete jungles using a wand her daughter's tantrums
More then anything she wants to grow old with the man she loves and see her children succeed in life.
tea, burning incense, fire whisky, old parchment
The death of loved ones, venomous snakes
Lelia is a sweet, and loving woman. She cares deeply for those close to her, and is welcoming to all new comers. This doesn't necessarily make her trusting, but she won't let anyone feel left out. She is soft spoken, and thoughtful, carefully considering everything she says.
A clever witch, Lelia is particularly good at wandless magic. This is partially due to her upbringing, where wands weren't something used everyday. Because of it she has a distaste for wands, and only uses hers when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately her daughter Baylee is old enough now that she's started to copy her mother's hand gestures...
Lelia is a little... uncoordinated as well. She has the ability to trip on anything and everything, accidentally lose her grip on whatever she is trying to carry, and at times misjudge the distance to something. This trait, of course, meshes poorly with her wandless magic skill as she's prone to accidentally cast when having a klutzy moment. At least she doesn't embarrass easily and brushes off the incidents as if they are nothing.
One of the most important things to remember about Lelia is she is a mother, and wife. She's extremely protective of her family, and would do anything for them. That doesn't mean she lets her family get away with anything though! She has a rambunctious child after all that gets into everything, so nothing gets past her anymore.
Strong willed, and passionate, Lelia sticks to her beliefs and won't be swayed, defending what she believes to be right. Stubborn to the bone, when her mind has been made it does not change. Despite whatever argument you may make, or what happens, she does what she feels is right and will not move.
Lelia was born and raised in the capital of Egypt, Cairo. A happy and bright girl from a young age, Lelia had a normal, stereotypical childhood. Well, as normal as can be expected of a young witch. Her mother, a sweet and loving woman was a muggle, but very accepting of her husband, a wizard. While she took care of their young daughter, her husband was off in the tombs, helping European curse breakers. They led a simple, but satisfying life. From a young age, Lelie had an affinity with flora. Severe heat made gardening difficult, but the family always managed to have a thriving garden.
Lelia was eleven when she received a letter of acceptance to a local wizarding school. Her father, who had attended Uagadou, was set on having the girl attend the school, but gave into his wife's desire to have Lelia closer to home. So, she attended a small, less known school in Northern Africa. It made returning home for the holidays much easier, to be honest! Like many African students, Lelia didn't actually use a wand all to often. It was, of course, required by the school to own one, but during her years as a student she only used it when necessary or during exams. Even to this day she doesn't use a wand much, feeling the European invention hindering. She graduated with top marks, and high hopes. But, those hopes didn't last long.
Her father was in an accident in the tombs. They'd been rushing the job, and made a mistake, missing one of the traps. It nearly cost him his life. Lelia returned home to care for her father, and find work to help make ends meet. She found a position in the government as a secretary. The pay wasn't great, but it was enough. Unfortunately, her father didn't make it, and passed away from his injuries after two months. Unable to leave her mother though, Lelia stayed.
Over the next few years, Lelia slowly began to climb in rank at work. Making a name for herself, she was finally approached with a job opportunity she couldn't pass up. It was in the Foreign Affairs office, in the magical trade and cooperation department. It would allow Lelia to see the world, and finally leave Egypt. Her mother urged her to take the job, to which she gladly accepted.
Lelia's first station was in South Africa. It was there she met a charming, handsome young man named Majed. Originally from Egypt like herself, the two were fast friends, able to reminisce over their home. That friendship soon turned to love, and several months later Lelia discovered she was pregnant. The pair were thrilled, and excited to start a family together.
Unfortunately, it was not to be. You see, Majed was part of a task force that specialized it tracking dark wizards. And one of those raids went badly wrong. Majed was killed, leaving Lelia, and their two month old daughter, Baylee, alone...
A year went by, and the two were doing quite well. Lelia had gotten the hang of raising her daughter alone, and Baylee was such a sweet child.... She was walking home one night, Baylee asleep in her arms, when someone jumped out at them. It was a bad part of town, muggings happening daily in the area. And Lelie was unable to stop it for fear of the child in her arms. There was a sudden flash of light, and the attacker ran off. Her rescuer, a British man, proceeded to walk her home, to deter any other would be attackers. As a thank you, she invited him to dinner the next night. And the rest was history. His name was Carson Abbott
After two years of dating the two finally married. Due to her husband's job, they are constantly on the move, though recently Mexico has been home. Sometimes though his assignments take him away for only a month or two, so Lelia will usually stay at home with their (as Baylee sees him as her father and not step father) daughter, while he travels.
The events in England, her husband's home country, have not gone unnoticed by the pair, but have been.... irrelevant up until this moment. Work, and Baylee, have kept them quite busy. Her husband was one one of his usual business trips without her when they got word of the attack at Hogwarts. Due to these events, his assignment has been changed, calling him back to his home country. In his absence (She hasn't seen him in 2 months, mind you!), she's discovered that she is pregnant with her second child. Fully aware that he won't be home for some time, she'd decided to surprise him in England with the news...
