Instead of answering her question, Andy stood, arms folded, and asked if she could be excused. Parvati wasn't sure if Andy was intentionally making an effort to try her patience, but it wouldn't have been the first time that one of the students had tried.
“I know you might not want to talk about whatever is going on,” she acknowledged, remaining seated. “But I’d like for you to try to answer my question, please.” Parvati wasn't forceful about it, but she wanted Andy to see that walking out of their session wouldn't solve anything. She wasn't a Legilimens, and—for the most part—she could only help the students as much as they wanted to be helped.
Parvati motioned for Andy to sit back down. Whether or not Andy chose to do so, however, was out of her control.

Parvati gestured to Andy's seat after her words and Andy froze for a moment. She could tell that she wasn't being forced, but the fact that she was even being given a choice was incredibly strange to her. She stared for a moment, unsure what was going to happen next. She felt like whether she sat in the chair or not it didn't matter. Nothing would change. She took in a deep breath, but didn't sit. "Because the Lestranges are very dangerous," she answered, "and it isn't out of character for them to hurt people." It was entirely true, of course. Even Rory was capable of it if the occasion called for it. Even Andy was. It was in their blood, she couldn't deny that. She couldn't deny that she caught a strange, sweet taste in her mouth at the thought of Nik being caught and dragged to Azkaban, kicking and screaming. The thought of him being dead was nice too. "Is here anything else today?" Andy asked after a moment. parvati patil macmillan

Although she chose not to sit back down, Andy did provide an explanation. “Because the Lestranges are very dangerous,” she said, “and it isn’t out of character for them to hurt people.” Parvati found it interesting that Andy referred to her family—or at least her biological one—as “the Lestranges”. She could tell that Andy seemed to be trying to distance herself from them, though the Order member in Parvati understood. The Lestranges had a rather sordid history.
She nodded at what Andy had to say and thought that perhaps the young woman had something else to add. After her brief silence, though, Andy merely asked if there was anything else for today. They were finally getting somewhere, even if Andy seemed keen to cut their session short, and it was beginning to grate on her.
This time, Parvati had no choice but to make herself plain. “Has your brother threatened you, Andy?” she asked, her tone stern and quite unlike her usual, relaxed manner of speaking. “If he has, it’s important that I know. Do you understand?”

Andy wasn't exactly expecting Madame MacMillan to flat out ask the question. Andy frowned, her eyebrows knitting as Parvati asked her if she understood. She nodded, "he has," she said plainly. "Nev- Headmaster Longbottom already knows. We went straight to him," she explained. "He made it clear that he doesn't plan on letting Aurora or I stay with them. Not sure how he plans on achieving the separation," her heart stopped for a moment at the thought of all the ways he could, "but I don't think we've seen the last of him." She wasn't entirely sure she did understand why this mattered for the sake of Andy's sanity. Isn't that what this was about? Finding her sanity? Either way, she wasn't sure about it's relevance. Parvati was a trained professional so she should trust that she knew what she was doing. She sighed, slowly sinking back into the chair again. parvati patil macmillan

Andy told her that Neville already knew, and Parvati realized then that he must have been the one to encourage Andy to meet with her. She couldn’t exactly say that it was “good”; it was far from good that Andromeda and her sister—Parvati presumed from the context of Andy’s comment—had been threatened by their brother, but it was good that Neville was already aware. It meant that she wouldn’t have to be the one to break to him that he and his family were in more imminent danger than they would have been. There was already a target on Neville’s back because he was Neville Longbottom, and things really didn’t need to get any worse.
“We went straight to him,” Andy told her. “He made it clear that he doesn't plan on letting Aurora or I stay with them. Not sure how he plans on achieving the separation, but I don't think we've seen the last of him.” Andy sunk back down into the seat that she had vacated.
Knowing Neville, he had a plan. Parvati knew better than to make promises that weren’t guaranteed, but she knew that Andy and her sister would be safe with him. “I don’t know your brother,” she told her, “but I do know Professor Longbottom. And I would trust him with my life.”

Andy nodded at her words, chewing on her lip as if that would help her eyes stop from getting misty yet again. She took in a deep breath through her nose before speaking, "so would I," she said. It wasn't Nik she was afraid of, though. In a way, sure but... she shook her head, cleared her throat and lifted a hand, pressing the heel of it to one of her eyes. She lowered her hand after a moment, looking up and giving Parvati a calm, polite smile. "Thank you," she said, and she did mean it. "I'm sure we'll see more of each other," oh, she had no doubt about that whatsoever. She knew this wasn't over and she knew that whatever was brewing inside her wouldn't stay down forever. The darkness would soon come to light, and that would be something that needed immediate attention. Andy knew she had to be careful... even if a part of her didn't want to be. parvati patil macmillan
