Victoire was visiting the library today and, thankfully, Teddy and Ron kept their distance so she could research things by herself. She often tried to stay caught up with the muggle world and their politics and had set time aside once a week to do so. This was her normal time for doing this and she hadn’t been there long when someone walked in front of her with a large stack of books. She lifted her hands and took a step back as if to get out of the way when the word ’Minister’ came out of the guys mouth. Her eyes widened briefly and then he tumbled backward, a gasp escaping her lips.
Within seconds she was leaning down toward the man. ”Oh, no, don’t be sorry. Let me help you,” she reached out and took the top few books off the pile and set them on the study desk nearest to them, she then returned and took just a few more. ”Are you alright, then?” she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. ”It’s quite all right you have a lot of… books here,” she found her eyes browsing the titles, wondering what exactly he needed so many books for.

It was an interesting choice of books, that was certain. Some seemed connected whereas others just felt out of place. She tore her eyes away from the book as he spoke again, grateful that his voice was low. ”Please, call me Victoire,” she said as he gave his name, Alastor Draven, first. She reached her own hand out to accept his in the gesture of greeting. ”It is a bit… ambitious, as you say,” she agreed, smiling back at him. ” I do wonder, however if you plan on checking all of these out or simply reading them in one sitting?” she pulled her hand from his and gestured back toward his stack of books. It was much easier to converse now that he wasn’t on the floor anymore.
"I, however, look foolish with no books in my arms. I'm just getting started," she explained.

At his compliment to her name and at her job as the Minister, Victoire nodded once and gave a small bow of her head, "thank you, Mr. Draven. I do hope victory is in store for us. I have no doubt in the Ministrys ability to achieve it," she said, straightening up, her serious conviction and determination easily showing through her words. Victoire had her doubts, sure, but not very many. She was very confident. Some would say over confident, in a way.
Victoire nodded as he spoke about the books, about not being able to help himself to the knowledge they offered. "I find myself taking the same books home over and over again just to assure I didn't miss anything of value," she said with her own light chuckle. As he spoke about not being away from work for too long, she raised his eyebrow, about to ask where he worked when he held something out to her.
Victoire was very careful about touching things handed to her, especially being the Minister of Magic. Plus, her Uncle Ron would kill her if she knew she had accepted something with her bare hands. "Forgive me," she said in advanced as she reached in her back for a handkerchief. She took the four purple coins with the cloth and wrapped them up, "I've never been there, no. It's fairly new, isn't it? You'd think I would have made an effort already, though," she said, giving an apologetic smile as she returned the handkerchief with it's contacts back to her bag. "You understand, I'm not to touch anything offered to me. My guard, my Uncle in fact, would be rather upset with me for disobeying that little caution," she added.

The man sure had a lot to say, but Vic didn't mind that. She was quiet by nature, which was helpful when it came to being a good ear and discerning what to do in any given situation. When he was finished and his smile broke into a laugh, she waved a hand dismissively. "Don't worry, I promise I won't take all the books," she chuckled.
She lowered her hand then, considering what he had said about an event good the ministry and/or combining forces for the greater good. She nodded, "I think there could be some good to be done between the two of us," she started, "I agree that we have similar goals and I'm glad to hear it. Tell me, what thoughts do you have on ways to collaborate? I'm afraid I'm not the most creative in those areas."

Vic listened to his explanation with her full attention. She was raised to listen when someone was talking to you and had especially learned as the Minister that she needed to give her undivided attention as best as possible. She nodded as he mentioned benefits, her mind going straight to her conversation with Asa about the orphanage and it's need for more funds and stuff. Then he seemed to catch her train of thought in a way by talking about community outreach and her smile grew. "I think we could definitely help with that. I'd love to come by some time," she started, "I would need to run it through quite a few channels first, but it may be possible to send someone over there," she would send people over without their 'titles' in tact ahead of time to scope out the place for her, though. As willing as Victoire was to be helpful, she was not incredibly trusting. Especially in these times.
"Do you know of the Pupilis Dunum Orphange?" she asked, raising an eyebrow quizzically. She would bring up the idea first, considering it was in the forefront of her mind. Still, she tried to remain pleasing but passive in her involvement with the conversation. She didn't want to be politician who accidentally made a promise with just their eyes or tone of voice.
