Anna stepped into the Leaky Cauldron slowly, looking around herself. She was looking for Andy, who she knew was here. Andy was supposed to be getting off of work sometime soon and Anna was excited. This was the first chance she'd gotten to spend some time with her friend this summer and she couldn't wait! However, she didn't have much of a choice. She'd arrived early and Andy was probably still working. She'd wait.
She moved over to a small table. It was out of the way, but not so much that she couldn't see the rest of the room. As soon as she came into sight, Anna was going to let her know she was there. Until then, she would just have to test her patience. She watched the others in the room casually as she waited, trying to give herself something to do.

Andy had just wrapped up her work with Hannah for the day and was ready to head out. Where to, she wasn't sure. Phil was busy today, Susan was still working and Braelynn had Zander pretty much every second, so her list of people to spend time with was getting scarce. Andy had finished early and stepped out into the main hall when she caught sight of Anna. A smile broke across her face, something that was happening more often then not as of late. "Ann!" she called, crossing over to her as soon as she saw her. Just like Hannah, Andy was good at catching faces from anywhere in the room rather quickly. Hannah had a better trained eye at finding a familiar face, but Andy was learning. This was proof of that.
"What are you doing here?" she asked when she reached the girl, her smile wide. She had promised Phil that she'd rely on her friends while he was gone and, at the moment, Andy hadn't thought of any at the top of her head. She wasn't very talented in that department. But seeing Anna reminded her of at least one person she'd still have.

Anna smiled when she heard her name and saw Andy crossing the room towards her. "Andy!" She laughed when her friend reached her and asked what she was doing there. "Well ... I was bored and thought I'd see if I could catch you when you got off of work. Want to do something with me? It seems like it's been ages since I've last seen you," she gushed. It had been a while since she'd seen any of her friends and she was done with it. Her family wasn't really doing much for the holidays so she was going to see if she could find friends that wanted to do things.
She didn't care what she did, she just had to get out of the house.

Andy nodded vigorously at Annas words. She reached over and took Annas hands, leaning forward as if she bad some secret to share. "You have no idea how good it is to see you," she tightened her grip on Annas hands before letting go, "can I get you some food first? Do you want to come up and see my room?" Andy hand really been able to share her old home with anyone and now that she had a real family she was rather proud of the place where she lived and even more excited that she actually had friends to invite up. Sometimes the newness of it all was overwhelming, but that didn't outweigh the positives.

Anna smiled. She loved how Andy and her had grown closer this year. It was nice to have another good friend to count on. "Well I'm glad. For a minute there I thought you wouldn't want to leave work to hang around me," she teased. Andy obviously wanted to do things with her.
At Andy's questions, Anna shrugged. "I'm not really hungry, but if you are we can eat first and I would love to come see your room! Lead the way." Anna loved seeing her friend like this. She seemed like an entirely new person, happy and carefree. Anna knew that wasn't true, that Andy had problems just like everyone else, but seeing her happy like this was refreshing and Anna loved it.
She stood up, ready to follow Andy so she could see her new room. Then maybe they'd eat, or maybe they'd just leave and walk around together.

Andy laughed, a rather full laugh which caught her off guard. "Of course not, of course. Come on!" she said as Anna agreed to see her room, "I'm not that hungry either," she said, tugging on Annas hands to take her toward the stairs. She let go of her when she reached them, leading the way. "It's right next to Phils and across from Rorys in our flat. I have one at the Longbottom Hill house too, but we don't don't stay there really," she explained, leading her to the flat and opening the door, leading her into the living room and down the hallway. "They decorated it with all this Gryffindor stuff, which is nice," she said, opening her bedroom door. She stepped inside, gesturing for Andy to follow. "That's Phils room right there, his bed is next to the wall like mine so we chat and stuff," she said, her smile wide.

Anna laughed when her friend pulled her across the room. This was a new Andy, an open one, one who wanted to share who she was. Anna loved it. She followed Andy up the stairs, looking around with interest. She'd never been in this area before and liked what she was seeing. There was a very homey feel to the living room and Anna was glad. It was still part of the Leaky Cauldron, but at least it felt like home.
Anna walked into Andy's room, looking around with a wide grin. "Ooh, I love these decorations," she said with a smile as she continued to spin in a circle and look around the room. "And I bet you love having Phil so close, huh?" Anna teased, unable to help herself. She could tell Andy was in a good place, comfortable and happy. If she hadn't been, Anna wouldn't have teased her like this. "Are you gonna have a hard time when you come back to school and he's not on the other side of the wall," she continued, unable to help herself. She moved to sit on the bed, still looking around the room. This was so Andy. Apparently the Longbottoms really understood her, which was definitely a good thing.

Andy wasn't surprised when the question came, but it did cause that heart of hers to skip a bit as usual whenever it was mentioned. She looked up toward Anna, smiling softly, a fake smile though. "I do love having him so close," she said first, crossing toward the bed. She went to sit on the end of it, placing both of her hands in her lap. "I don't know," she answered next, "I promised him I'd try my best not to. That I'd let my friends help me," she gestured to Anna with one hand, "and some days that seems doable. Others, less so but..." she thought about her birthday present from Phil, she thought about the greenhouse, the mistletoe... she allowed herself to let his warmth fill her up. That's what she had to do when she got sad about him leaving. "I'll be all right, though," she said, smiling a little wider.

As soon as Anna started speaking, she realized something she'd forgotten. Phil was leaving this fall. He wouldn't be going to school with them for a while. All of a sudden, she felt terrible. She didn't mean to make Andy think of that, she was only trying to tease them that her room wouldn't be right next to his anymore. Dumb! Still, it was too late for that. Anna would just have to try and rectify her mistake. She smiled at Andy, "I'm glad you guys finally worked things out. Still, I want you to know that I'm here for you. If you need anything, just let me know." She nodded reassuringly, "You'll be just fine and he'll be back before you know it," Anna finished, hoping she wasn't sounding too preachy.
"So," she started, changing the subject. "Now that I've seen your awesome room, what else do you want to do? You wanna stay here and talk or go out and do something?" Anna asked with any easygoing smile.

Andy nodded with a half hearted smile as Anna said she was glad about her and Phil working things out. So was Andy. Those months of not speaking to one another, not being friends... those were the worst months of Andy's life, and with her childhood that was saying a lot. She moved from the bed to hug Anna impulsively. "Thanks," she said, referring to Annas offer that if she needed anything to just let her know. She nodded and pulled away, "I just hope he's safe there. I mean, I know nothing about Brazil," she chuckled nervously.
At the subject change, Andy shrugged lightly. "Hmm... well, I don't know. I guess we could go into Diagon Alley and do some shopping?" she suggested.

Anna hugged Andy back, once more glad for their friendship that had grown over the past year. She liked Andy and enjoyed spending time with her. "No problem," she said with a smile. "I mean it though. And I'm sure Phil is fine. First, he knows how to take care of himself, but even more, I don't think his parents would have let him go if there was any question of his safety."
Anna nodded at Andy's idea. "Ooh, I know! I haven't gotten my dress robes for the year yet. Have you? We could get those together, if you want?" Anna didn't know why they needed dress robes, but she was excited. Something fun was going on at Hogwarts this year. She felt it and she wanted to be involved.

Andy smiled as Anna said Phil was fine and all that. She knew it was true, he could handle himself, and his parents wouldn’t send him if it was too dangerous. She nodded, ”he’ll be happy,” she said with another firm nod.
Then Anna suggested getting those dress robes and Andy’s eyes widened, ”I completely forgot about those,” she frowned. She had some… at the Lestrange house. Then she remembered that Hannah had given her money to go get some when their Hogwarts letters came. She smiled, jumping up, ”sounds good!”
And soon the girls were headed to the dress store. ”What color are you thinking?” Andy asked Anna, biting her lip in worry of her own dress…

"Don't worry about it, I've got you covered," Anna said with a smile when Andy realized she'd forgotten about dress robes. She then crinkled her nose at Andy's question. What color? "Umm ...." Anna hesitated. Lots of colors clashed with her red hair, which she hated. Finding something that went well was always a struggle. Then she giggled slightly, "Would it be lame if I say white? It's one of the only colors that never clashes with my hair," she explained, reaching up to run her fingers through her long hair.
"What color do you want?" she asked curiously. She didn't know if Andy like shopping or not, but she hoped the two would be able to find some cute things to wear ... to whatever was going on this year.

Andy smiled as Anna gave what color she preferred. "White is not bad," she said, "just have to be incredibly careful not to get a wedding dress," Andy said with a laugh. When Anna asked her the same question Andy smiled softly, "green," she said firmly. It was Phil's favorite color, and even though he wouldn't be there next semester, she'd wear green anyway. Plus, the letter didn't specify what semester it was intended for, so it was best to just go with the safe bet.
Once at the dress shop, Andy chewed her lip looking at the options, "my mum taught me a bit about fashion, but we have pretty decent taste."

Anna grinned at Andy, "All right then, your job is to make sure it's not a wedding dress." She liked seeing Andy laughing and happy like this. It was a new thing that came with their recent friendship and Anna loved it. Anna nodded when Andy said she wanted something green. "Green will look very good on you," she complimented. Anna shrugged when her friend started talking about fashion. "I've never really been good at fashion. I just look for something I think would look decent. I'm not too good at searching through stores for the perfect item," she confessed easily. She didn't think Andy would judge her and it was the truth. Anna mostly just looked at color when choosing clothes, trying to avoid too much that clashed with her hair. @lestrange (ooc: I'm ready to end it when you are)
