Edmund smiled when she agreed to not keep secrets. Good. At least he didn't have to worry about that now. He knew that Addi was good at keeping promises, so he had nothing to worry about. Then she asked him to promise the same thing. He hadn't expected that. "I'll tell you," his smile froze on his face when he remembered what happened on the train. And in Diagon Alley last week. As well as over the last few years. The one secret he'd kept from Addi. Should he tell her? Would she be mad at him for not telling her sooner? "Actually Adds, there's something I need to tell you," he started, watching her closely to see her reaction.
He wasn't sure if he believed her when she started coughing, blushing even more and said she was alright. Something was going on, but he wasn't going to push it, so he let it go.
Ed watched her curiously when Addi moved and reached across the table for the ... bread pudding? He watched her curiously, entirely surprised when she put it on his plate. His mouth hung open for a few seconds without him realizing it when she told him he didn't have to let go. He smiled at her mischievously, "I wasn't planning on it," he whispered back to her, squeezing her hand once more as he looked into her eyes. Was it possible that she could feel things changing too. Is that why she was blushing so much?

@edmund 166 <3 Edmund went from smiling to serious and Addi became concerned. What had happened? Was it bad? Was it something she should be concerned about? Her eyes watched him. "Is everything alright, Edmund? What's going on?" She hoped it wasn't anything too horrible, hopefully something she could fix and make him okay with again. Addi tilted her head, ready to listen, and squeezed his hand, a sign to let him know it was okay.
After she put the bread pudding down on his plate and she saw his mouth wide open, Addi let out a giggle. She took her other hand, and lifted it up to his chin. She shut his mouth for him. "Good...I don't want you to." Oh my. Addilyn has never been this forward with a guy before. Was it because it was Edmund? Her best friend? She was so comfortable with him that it was shocking even herself. Addi licked her lips and pointed to his top lip. "Uh, E, you've got some...something on your lip."

Ed took a deep breath before starting in a low whisper. If anyone heard him, it would be bad. "I, uh, there's something," he hesitated. How was he supposed to say this? "Um, you've got to keep this a secret for me, ok?" Edmund took another slow breath before letting it out. "I need to not be alone with Theodosia," he decided it would be easier by starting to tell her what he needed from her. Oh, man he was about to sound like a wimp. "She ... she and I don't exactly get along. At all. Addi, she's worse than Will!" He finally said in a whisper, hoping she'd understand what he was getting at. Will and he didn't get along well at all, but at least Will wasn't intentionally trying to hurt Edmund. Theodosia was.
Edmund was so embarrassed when she reached up and closed his mouth for him, but this time he put his emotion-hiding defenses to work and stopped himself from going red. If both of them kept blushing like this, someone was going to realize that something was going on and he didn't want anyone to ruin it. He was on new territory with Addi, territory that he liked, that felt natural. He smiled yet again when she said she didn't want him to let go. He was sorely tempted to ask her why, but from the blush on her cheeks he could tell that she didn't know. "Well good," he muttered, unable to think of another thing to say. He was an idiot. An idiot suddenly developing feelings for his best friend who he'd just been informed liked someone else. She pointed and said there was something on his lip and Edmund reached up quickly with his free hand, wiping whatever it was away. "Did I get it?" he asked.

@edmund 214<3 Addi leaned forward to Edmund and listened to him speak. Theodosia? Her eyes narrowed. Addi leaned forward, and glanced down the table at Theodosia. Her blood began to boil. Granted, Addilyn wouldn't and couldn't do anything about his siblings because that was what happened and how things worked, just like he wouldn't do anything about her, Grey and Claire. Addi looked back at Edmund. "I won't ever leave you alone again, Ed. Unless you're sleeping of course...I hate bullies. I hate them. I'll protect you, E." She took a deep breath and calmed down. Addi ate another cookie; sugar always helps.
Addi gave Edmund a smirk. She kind of enjoyed seeing him slightly uncomfortable and blushing, but she was acting the same exact way. He said good, and Addi smiled. Then, he tried to get the pudding that was on his lip. Addilyn giggled. He didn't get it. "May I?" She hadn't actually gave him time to answer. Taking a glance around, no one was looking. Addi lifted her free hand, using her pointer finger and grabbed the pudding off his lip. As his mouth was still open, Addi put her finger in his mouth so he would lick it off.
As bright red as her face was, she still smiled at Edmund with another giggle.

Ed watched Addi nervously as she glared down the temple. "Stop looking over there, stop it, stop it," he thought anxiously. When she did, he was so glad that no one had noticed her glare. If Theodosia started picking on Addi, he wouldn't be able to control himself. He gave a relieved smile. "Thanks Adds. It's just getting bad. I mean, most of the time I try to ignore her and get away, but ... I'd rather not be alone with her."
Then she was laughing and he knew that he'd missed it. Whatever "it" was. "May I?" She asked, but without even waiting for a response, she reached up and wiped it off, sticking her finger in his mouth. It was some of his pudding. Instinctively, he licked it off her finger and then turned his head, glancing around quickly. Was anyone watching them? He didn't see any eyes on them and exhaled in relief. He didn't want to get questioned about this before he figured out what was going on.
"What do you think you're doing, Adds?" he asked with a teasing smile, squeezing her hand. The whole situation felt surreal, like it were a dream. Were things really changing between him and Addi like this or was he just imagining it?

@edmund 106 <3 Addi nodded her head. She didn't know what it was like to be bullied constantly, but she knew she would help Edmund. Theodosia was not going to continue this mean streak that she had with Edmund for whatever reason.
Ed squeezed her hand and she squeezed back. He asked what she thought she was doing and Addi shrugged. "Just helping you out, E." Addi winked. Then, Professor Longbottom announced the end of the feast. As they had to get up to walk back to their common room, Addi finally let go of Edmund's hand. But, they walked side by side, bumping into each other the whole way.
