The relief that came with her was a good feeling. In fact, it was a great one, especially in comparison to their swimming escapade so far. He let out a sigh, smiling softly as she clasped his elbows as well. He nodded as she explained about the other clairvoyants. Then, some sort of... serene emotion came from her? Mixed with surprise? He was actually confused about what that one was. Then she shook her head and said she thought she'd always had the ability but never been able to remember. He nodded, "well, we'll just have to keep an eye on that, won't we?" he said, trying to give an encouraging smile. He tightened his grips on her arm just slightly, "now that we know each others secrets on the oh-so-glamorous abilities front," he chuckled, "I think I should clarify," he leaned forward slightly, just enough so that the gap between them was almost closed. His voice dropped to a whisper, "it seems we feel the same way about something," and then he was kissing her. Wait, he was kissing Irina Krum!? A girl who'd been like a sister to him for as long as he could remember? When did these feelings even start? She was different now, of course, more woman than girl. But that wasn't it. There was more to it than that. He trusted her, he found himself actually wanting to know how she felt, which was something he never wanted before. Irina Rose Krum

Irina looked questioningly at Dan when he said he needed to clarify something, but before she could say anything, he was kissing her. She was shocked at first, she had thought before he had said he hadn't felt the same way she did, but apparently she had been wrong. Then she saw them beneath her eyelids; fireworks, shooting off by the dozens. As if by instinct, she traced her hands back up his arms and folded them around his neck, pulling herself closer to him. She had seen herself kissing Dan several times in her dreams, but never knew it'd be like this. It was good, it was...it felt right.
She did not want to break apart, but she knew they could not stand there all day. People were sure to have noticed them by now, and she would not want her sisters finding out about...whatever this was without knowing what it was first. Reluctantly, she pulled back and rested her forehead against his, giving a small sigh. She let her hands travel up and gently threaded her fingers through his curls. She wasn't sure what made her do it, but a part of her had always wondered what it would be like. "Well..that does clear things up a bit, I think," she said, her voice barely above a whisper and laughed softly. Her heart was racing a mile a minute again, but it was out of excitement now, not fear or nerves.

The feeling of her hands in his curls was something he had always wanted, but didn't know that he did. He sighed at the touch, not opening his eyes until she spoke. Her feelings of excitement and her laugh caused him to chuckle too. He opened his eyes and looked into hers, "It does, doesn't it?" He lifted a hand to reach up to her wet hair, tucking some of it behind her ear. He took in a deep breath, now the slight panic starting to settle in. What was going to happen now? ”Well, best birthday ever,” he said with a cocky tone, giving a little sigh and rolling his shoulders back. ”I’m going to do that swimming thing now that I came out here to do. Stop distracting me,” he smirked before stepping away from her and starting to swim away, but he really just went in a circle around her. Irina Rose Krum(eye roll these two lovebirds)

Irina watched as he swam away in a circle around her, a smile slowly spreading across her lips. So she hadn’t been crazy; there had been no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed of the way she felt about Dan. A light feeling of giddy relief spread from her head to the tips of her fingers and toes. She knew he probably could feel what she was feeling right now as he always could have, but that was okay, she didn’t fear it as much as she thought she would. It could be easier now, knowing that she didn’t have to verbally communicate if she was scared or angry; he would just know. Of course, it wouldn’t be that simple; Dan had never been the compassionate, sweet teddy bear type of guy, but he had his moments, like when he saved her in the cave years ago, that Irina now realized what had drawn her to him in a more than friend sort of way.
Dancing on her tiptoes, Rina gave a few hops and then pushed off towards deeper waters, continually checking below her to make sure that she could always see the bottom. Grindylows lived in the deeper waters; the last thing she’d need was a grindylow attack on a day like today. She shuddered lightly, then turned her attention back to Dan. What were they now – friends? Friends with some benefits? Or maybe something more? She was curious, but knew they would have time to have that talk later, in a more private setting where other students, especially her sisters, wouldn’t be able to overhear them. “I have a question for you,” she called, swimming closer to him as the thought popped into her mind. “How long have you known about your ability? I mean, have you always been able to feel what others feel, or did it…manifest itself later?” she asked him. Everyone was different; the clairvoyants she knew even all had vastly different stories of the manifestations of their Sight, but he was the first Empath she knew.

She swam toward him, announcing that she had a question and he felt himself panic a little bit. he didn't know what he expected but, luckily, her question wasn't ont to really be stressed about. he cleared his throat, paddling back to where his feet could touch, assuming she would follow. "Well, it was because of you that I figured it out, actually," he explained slowly, not looking directly at her but kind of just pretending the surface of the water was extremely fascinating. "That time in the cave when we were about fifteen or so. Those bats scared you and I realized that... terror wasn't coming from me. it was you," he finally looked up, making eye contact with those wickedly bright eyes of hers. "I've always been a bit emphatic, but that was when I realized how strong it really was... and that was when I started pushing emotions away, because it was bit too intense for me. Still is sometimes," he admitted, but he gave a shrug to make it seem as though it wasn't a big deal. He wouldn't mention those few seizures he had in the past because of it, or the fact that his migraines sometimes rendered him unable to do anything. He moved away again, stepping up until he was almost out of the lake. Irina Rose Krum

So, she was what had awakened his empathy, was she? That was interesting, very interesting. A small smirk played on Irina's lips, but she forced it down quickly and nodded. "I remember that day - I'd been scared of bats since I was little because I fell down a shaft in one of the caves, near that one actually, and a swarm of bats swooped down upon me. Father rescued me shortly after but it was traumatizing," she mused, automatically swimming towards him without realizing. "I never thanked you for grabbing me that day; I know it was probably a lot for your...er, emotional capacity to handle with how scared I was, but it would have been made worse if I had fallen," she said very quickly, breaking eye contact and looking down at the water. She saw her cheeks flush in the reflection of the water, but smiled all the same. She wasn't embarrassed really; not now that she knew her feelings were reciprocated. But she was still young, and it was easy to get twitterpated around someone whom she cared about.
Seeing how close he was, Rina suddenly had a devilish idea, one that would break the slight tension of awkwardness that had risen between them. Knowing he'd be able to sense her emotions, she struck quickly. Feet touching the bottom, she bolted towards him and pushed him back into the shallow water. "A not to be missed opportunity," she told him, laughing as she made her way out of the water. Sure, they had just snogged half submerged in the lake, but it was very rare if she ever caught him off guard, and would probably be more difficult now that she knew his secret.

At her story about why she was afraid of bats, Dan frowned. "Yikes," he wished he had been the one to rescue her, and then realized that was a silly thought. A father is much better than a... whatever he was any day. Then she was thanking him and his ears were turning red. "Erh, yeah. Sure," he swallowed, trying to sound nonchalant about the whole thing. He nodded, "I wouldn't let any of you fall," he was talking about her and her siblings, and that was true. He was just glad he could be there for her when she needed someone... not that he really wanted to admit that out loud. He'd already done a lot of admitting today. Her blush was cute, though, and that was almost enough for him to admit more... but he didn't. Dan didn't catch her emotions in time and was suddenly behind shoved, "ah!" he called as his body crash back into the water. When he came up he turned to face her, glaring. He stood, marching out of the water until he was back on the shore beside her. He reached out and caught her waist with one hand, using his adrenaline from just being pushed to pull her toward him with a bit of force, but not enough to hurt her. "My thoughts exactly," then he kissed her again, quickly, before backing away completely. "Guess we should head back and dry off. Have a nice day," he smirked before turning to jog toward the Durmstrang boat. Before he got far he spun around, "hey! Have dinner with me? I'll meet you outside your common room at seven," he didn't wait for an answer but just took off again. Irina Rose Krum(you can post one more if you want, if not just start the dinner one hHAHHAH)

Irina shrieked as Dan grabbed her around the waist and kissed her. The exhilaration, the tingling she felt that went from her head to her toes was addicting. So it was Niko's best friend; Harry Potter dated his best friends sister and that had ended up just fine. She realized she hadn't talked to Niko in awhile; she'd send him an owl when she got back to the castle. Of course she wouldn't tell him about what happened, but just so he knew she was alive and that she'd be entering the Tournament. That'd be enough for him to worry about for now.
Irina nodded as Dan asked to meet her for dinner, then realized he was already a quarter of the way back towards the Durmstrang ship. "Sure! I'll see you at seven!" she called. Gathering up her things, she headed back to the castle with a smile on her face. She was excited for tonight, whatever their status was at the moment.
