Teddy stood just outside of the telephone booth that led to the Ministry, leaning agsinst the wall of the building beside it. It wasn't so bad, not having to work for the Ministry anymore. He still got to see Victoire and he knew that she was in more than capable hands with her uncles watching over her with the guard. Plus, it gave Teddy a chance to refocus some of his attention on writing. It had been a while since he had felt any sort of inspiraion and as of very recently... he felt inspired again. You could say it was all because of the blonde bombshell, the one who had occupied his thoughts for many years now. It was a wonderful thing to have her back in his life again.
The Ministry was just about to let out for the work day. Teddy knew Victoire had to work later some nights, especially after the announcement of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. It was nearly dark out now, the sun setting over the buildings surrounding him as he awaited Victoire to come up out of the telephone booth's floor. He had planned a night of relaxation for the Minister; Merlin knew she needed it. He stuffed his hands in his jacket pocket as he awaited her to stop his hands from fidgeting anxiously. Tonight was going to be a fun, relaxing, romantic night.

Vic had indeed been working late. Working out the details of protecting the school from the unknown attackers, dealing with the tournament, and reminding herself that all of this stuff could be delegated to other people. She sat at her desk for a while before leaving just contemplating how to make the world safer without spreading panic. Soon, she had a feeling, they would have to shift into a more... military state situation. She hated the idea of that, but she also hated the idea of bad guys going around killing good people like the Lloyds and countless others. No, they did have a count, the number was just one she didn't want to think about.
She sighed, finally standing and stretching out her neck before grabbing her jacket and bag. She said goodbye to the stranglers before taking the phone booth out of the Ministry. She always took this entrance and exit, it was the first one she ever used to get here. Two of her guards accompanied her to the booth and went up ahead of her to make sure it was safe, as they always did. If it was they'd send a patronus message back down to let her know it was good to come out. It was an annoying routine, but it was insisted upon by Ron considering that she refused to change up what entrance/exit she used.
When the message came she made her way up, yawning as she stepped out at the top. She jumped slightly when she saw a figure out of the corner of her eye, her wand sliding into her hand from her sleeve. She made eye contact with Teddy and smiled, slipping her wand back into it's holster on her arm. "Well, hi," she said softly, stepping forward to kiss him on the check, her hand clasping his shoulder.

Always a man with a plan, Teddy went through his plans for the evening in his mind as he waited for Victoire. A nice, early autumn walk in London, followed by dinner at Victoire's favorite restaurant. Maybe even ice cream ater. As he waited, the excitement was beginning to build up inside of him. He felt as if he were bouncing on the tip of his toes. In his excitement, he saw Victoire's guards exit the phone booth first. He grinned widely and motioned for them not to give away that he was there.
Moments later, Victoire was exiting the booth and pulling her wand out on him. Teddy smiled, but put his hands up in joking surrender. His smile widened when Vic kissed him on the cheek. "Hel-lo," he responded brightly. "Are you ready for tonight?" He asked wih a wiggling of his eyebrows.

Teddys hands being lifted in surrender caused Vic to smile before she kissed him. She didn't bother trying to ignore that non-calulable warm feeling at the sight of him and the sound of his voice. She didn't have to avoid all that now. As he asked if she was ready for tonight, wiggling his eyebrows, she giggled, scrunching her nose at him as she sized him up, looking him up and down. "I suppose you'll do for the night. Sure, I'm ready," she joked, biting her lip and turning on her heel to stand beside him, linking her arm through his. "Lead the way. I'm sure you've got it all planned out, don't' you?" Victoire usually preferred being the one making the plans but in the case of Teddy it was actually kind of nice to be surprised. Even thoguh surprises did make her a little uncomfortable. It was a good discomfort with him, though. It showed that she was willing to grow, to learn, to progress. Heck, it showed that she already had done those things. Just the fact that she was here, trusting him, was proof that she was better than she'd ever been. She loved him for that.

Teddy's grin widened at Victoire's little joke, but he raised his eyebrows to show mock surprise. "Oh, 'I'll do'?" He repeated through a laugh. Teddy just grinned even wider as Victoire bit her lip, then linked her arm in his. Honestly, he could not remember the last time he had smiled so much. His face was beginning to hurt. But naturally, Teddy just couldn't stop. He was far too happy. And more importantly, seeing Victoire happy made him smile so much he wasn't sure if he could ever stop.
The Hufflepuff alum smirked. Teddy knew that Victoire liked organization and being in control, but he loved that she was able to let loose sometimes. Granted, he had not seen her this relaxed in quite some time. It was still nice to see that even after all this time, she still trusted him enough to let him take the reigns. "I do, as a matter of fact," he nodded once in response. "Though, I hope you don't mind a little walk?" He looked beside him to meet her eyes, smiling widely at her.

Vic chuckled as he called her out on her joke. His grin grew wide and so did hers. She was sure her cheeks were going to be hurting by the end of the night. Or in the morning. Or always.
She nodded as he claimed he did have a plan, which she was not surprised by. At the mention of a walk she nodded, "no, I don't mind one bit. I'm fine with whatever you want to do tonight," she said, pausing the humor for a moment to make eye contact with him and show some real sincerity in her gaze. She trusted him, she loved him, and she'd follow him anywhere. Well, within reason. In all reality she didn't want to consider what she'd do if he somehow asked her to quit her job. That thought was too much to process right now. For now, she was just Victoire Apolline Weasley. Loving girlfriend and friend to Teddy Lupin.

With their arms linked, Teddy began to lead them down the street. "So, this is going to be a night of absolute fun," he said through his grin. "No talk of work whatsoever!" He wiggled his free hand's index finger at her, playfully threatening her. It wasn't exactly an impossible task. As long as Teddy didn't bring anything up that could somehow be tied back into work, he doubted Victoire would either. Besides, they used to go on dates and wouldn't talk about school so who said now had to be any different?
Teddy began to lead the two of them in the direction of Shaftesbury Avenue. There was a restaurant there he had been dying to take Victoire to since he had returned to England and now that he could, he was practically bursting with excitement. But Teddy wanted to enjoy the scenic walk in the cool autumn air with his girlfriend; the love of his life. His free hand found her arm as it was linked through his occupied arm and he rested his hand upon hers as they walked. He was quiet for a moment, but he really could not erase the smile from his face as they walked along the streets; the sky darkening and the streets lighting up with street lamps and lights from inside shop windows. "I almost forgot how peaceful it is just walking with you," he said softly as they walked along.

Vic grinned as he mentioned that it was a nice of fun and no work talk was allowed. She tightly shut her lips and lifted her free hand as if to zip them up. "No work talk. Got it. I won't even say the word... again," she giggled. She moved her hand to swat his 'threatening gesturing' hand. She was actually excited about this little deal. It had been... well, years since she had not talking about work. At least, purposefully didn't for a whole outing. She was glad to let him lead, too, which she didn't let people do often.
She leaned toward him even more as he placed his hand over hers. Her smile was just as wide as his and she felt a bit ethereal, like she was floating. He mentioned how peaceful it was just walking and she laughed, "only when you make conversation rules," she reminded him with a wicked grin. "Tell me, did you have peaceful walks while you were gone?"

Teddy grinned when Victoire seemed to play along and pretended to zip her lips shut. He knew Vic worked harder than anyone, and he wanted to give her a night of relaxing from all the working and planning. That was why he had taken the reigns. Though, it meant a lot to him that she let him do that, too because it definitely wasn't something she always did and he knew that. Victoire was a very take-charge kind of person and that was one of the things Teddy had always loved most about her. "Good!" He said in response to her saying she wouldn't even say yhe word 'work' anymore.
Ted shot Victoire a playful glare when she said something about "conversation rules." He squeezed her hand in response. It felt so good to be able to hold onto her again. Teddy walked along the sidewalk, leading them to where they were to go. He let out a peaceful sigh as he thought back to his time in Greece. "Yeah," he said thoughtfully. "I actually tried to go for a walk every night. Greece is really beautiful, and perfect for that sort of thing. A walk along the streets, looking out at the sea, and it's enough to get the juices flowing." He smiled at the memory. While his time in Greece was spent trying to get over Victoire, there were many good parts. The scenery and beauty that the country held was just one of the few good things, if not the best.

Vic giggled as he shot her that playful glare and tightened his grip on her hand. The touch caused a jolt of electricity to shoot up her spine, causing her smile to grow even more. It was like an energy hit, like a shot of espresso or just pure caffeine. Where had this been the past few years? Oh yeah, it had run away because of her. Well, he didn't outright say that but she knew that's what it was. She wasn't stupid, not in the slightest.
he spoke about how he tried to go for a walk every night and she nodded. He was lucky, that he was able to make time for that. She'd buried herself in work while he was gone and had almost forgot what a peaceful walk felt like. "Maybe I should go there," she suggested. "I mean, maybe we should go there," she said that part a little more softly. "Though, I don't want to intrude on your memories there," she added.

Thinking back on his time in Greece wasn't exactly the most heartwarming thing. Teddy had unfortunately spent a lot of his time hung up on Victoire, wondering if he would ever move on from her and trying desperately to bury himself in writing to try to forget her. But it never worked. She was all he wrote. In everything he did, she was there. It wasn't nice to think about how sad he had been, but it was nice to think about perhaps taking her to the place where he had had at least some fond memories. And when she said that, he turned his head quickly to look at her.
"No, no, no," Teddy spoke quickly, shaking his head. "You... you have no idea how much I'd actually love that." Yeah, sure, he had spent a lot of time there upset and wrapped up in his own emotions but the country was still beautiful. The culture was still beautiful. And he would have to have been insane to have left without at least some fond memories. "I know the best places to sit and watch the sunset over the ocean. Or, the best place to have really good, authentic Greek food." His tone was suddenly ten times more excited than it had been. "Besides, you... you wouldn't really be intruding." He shrugged, hoping that statement came off as nonchalant as he had hoped it would.
Teddy continued to lead them down the busy street until they neared their destination. When they reached it, Teddy stopped and looked at Victoire to gauge her reaction when she saw what restaurant they were at. His smile wider than ever.

Teddy quickly denied that she would ruin his memories of Greece if they went there together and she couldn't help but smile as he did so. She felt her cheeks warm slightly as he went on to say how much he would love that. She bit her lip, trying to contain her smile from growing too large before realizing how silly that was. This was Teddy. Her Teddy. He was her boyfriend now, again, and that meant that she could smile as much as she wanted. Maybe she just wasn't used to it.
When he continued about the best places to sit and watch the sunset or the best places to eat she nodded, taking in his excitement. Then, he mentioned that she wouldn't be intruding and she cocked her head to the side, "are you saying I was there all along?" she half joked, before realizing how that sounded. "Not that- I didn't mean- never mind," she cleared her throat, glad that they were coming up on the restaurant.
She looked up, taking in what restaurant they were at and her eyes widened. She tightened her grip on his hand and turned toward him. "Teddy! We haven't been here since..." she paused. She remembered that night. One very important night in their history, years ago. She blushed, turning back toward the restaurant. "Shall we?"

Teddy forgot how crazy her smile drove him. Just wild with love. He loved Victoire's smile and he was over the moon that she was smiling at him, with him. He let out a slightly nervous sounding chuckle and held his hand up in front of his face a little embarrassed. He spread his fingers apart just slightly to peek at her from behind them, smiling behind his hand. "Yes," he admitted. He put his hand back down and smiled sheepishly at her. "I sort of... couldn't stop thinking about you. And how much better it would be if you would be there." Maybe this wasn't the type of thing she wanted to hear. They weren't together during that time, after all. "I know, that's crazy..." he shook his head, but still, he could not stop smiling. Around Vic, his smile rarely faded.
The smile that was plastered on Teddy's face was one of polite smugness when Victoire realized what restaurant they were at. It was so rewarding to see how her face lit up when she saw it. Teddy took a moment to watch her, filing this moment away in his mind for safe keeping. These were the moments he lived for. "After you, madamoiselle," he bowed slightly in a joking matter.

His nervous chuckle was enough to cause Vic to nervously chuckle as well. Then he admitted what she already guessed. That he had thought about her the whole time he was gone and basically that he had left because of her... at least, she assumed that much. "I wish I had been," she whispered softly, chewing on the corner of her lip and averting her eyes for one moment. "But it just wasn't... the time." He already knew how she felt about this. About how that was a really important time in her career and that's why she wasn't... the best person to be around. "Hey, it's not crazy," she added, squeezing his hand.
Vic stepped in the restaurant first, laughing a little as he gave a slight bow. "Why thank you good sir," she said. Soon they were at their table and Vic was smiling at him from across it, "so, what's the special occasion? Or are you just being cute and stuff,"she guessed.

Thinking back to why the two of them had broken up in the first place still made Teddy feel like a fool for how he had acted because of the breakup. But when she squeezed his hand, it brought him back to the present: the present in which he was here, about to have dinner, with the love of his life. He turned to her then. "Let's go then," he said with a wide smile. "I mean, after things here calm down. Like a vacation. I know people there, we'd have a place to stay." He suggested excitedly. Teddy knew that they probably wouldn't be able to go for quite some time with Victoire's being Minister, but the idea of doing it with her was just as lovely.
The smile of Teddy's face could not be contained. "Well," he said as he sat down across from Victoire happily. "I wanted to celebrate. Are you more of a champagne or wine person?" He looked at the menu. "Or, neither. We could go sparkling water," he looked up with a silly smile.
