Why was he lecturing her? He didn't even know her! He knew absolutely nothing about her! Not her name. Not her past. Hell, he hadn't even known they were in the same year! Well, he might remember her if he heard her last name, but that was besides the point. He was a total stranger. So what right did he have to lecture her on her own behavior? What did he know anyway? He was the son of famous Quidditch players. He was a famous Quidditch player. He could do whatever he wanted. Life was just handed to him.The hardest thing he'd probably ever experienced in his life was a stupid broken bone, right? Magdalena looked away from him, refusing to answer at first. He wouldn't understand anyway. So why bother trying to explain it? How could you make someone understand that the only time you ever felt... normal anymore was when you couldn't feel anything?
As he finally explained what had happened last night though, her eyes widened, and she looked back at him. She had no defense to what he said. No excuse to explain it away. To justify why she'd been drunk enough that she'd almost been take advantage of. At long last though, she spoke, her voice barely at a whisper. "So why didn't you let them..? You don't know me, and I was the one being stupid, right? Why'd you stop them..?"
She didn't respond when he responded with a no. Well, at least that would make it a little easier to pay him back. She stepped out of the kitchenette and back into the bedroom for a minute so she could find her wand, and then was back. He still looked just as grumpy as before. No surprise. Well, if he wanted to sulk, he could. She wouldn't stop him. She'd just get to work in silence, which she preferred. Switching between magic and doing it by hand, the girl managed to put together crepes, with an assortment of topic options. Nutella, jam, berries, powder sugar. She hadn't cooked much since the last time she went grocery shopping, so there was plenty to pick from. She leaned against the fridge once it was prepared and motioned to the food. "Help yourself."

@magdalena <3 She didn't respond to his first few words. He wasn't sure why, but she clearly didn't care too much about what had happened or didn't happen last night. He just didn't get it. If any of his sister's ever drank like that he'd throw a fit; telling their parents and giving them a piece of his mind. Nikolai didn't take these things lightly, especially when your safety is concerned. He knew the feeling of being abused, of being stolen, of having your innocence taken away from you. It was a disgusting feeling, knowing something that should be so intimate and lovely was horrible and sickening. His narrowed eyes looked at her when she looked back at him with wide eyes.
Niko moved his head so he could attempt to hear her whisper. He scoffed at her. Was that a real question? Seriously? Who asks that? Niko Caithness and turned to face the girl. "Well to start, I may be well known but that doesn't make me some shitty person. Just because you were being an idiot doesn't mean you deserved them doing that to you, no one deserves anything like that!" Niko's voice was raised, his anger becoming more apparent now. Gosh it was like she wanted it to happen!
Shaking his head at her he tried to contain himself. But he couldn't, not well at least. This girl was something else. His eyes glanced over and he raised an eyebrow. "I'm all set, thanks."

Magdalena wasn't an outwardly angry person. Inside, yes. She was boiling over, but not about this. She was always angry, in some way. But it was below the surface. Nikolai though? He seemed to be the opposite. He'd made his anger and frustration clear as day. She flinched as he raised his voice, striking a nerve. "I didn't say you were a bad person..." She softly muttered, looking away again. Thankfully, at her current spot in the small room, there was plenty of space between them. They were on opposite sides of the room. Wrapping her arms around herself tightly, she kept her gaze far from his. What did he want her to say? Sure she wasn't coming up with the best responses, and he was totally and completely unsatisfied with what she came up with. And even her silence seemed to annoy him.
"Look... I'm sorry." She started, refusing to look at him as she spoke. She wanted to say something else, anything else. But no words followed.

@magdalena <3 The girl from bed and Niko felt a small pang of guiltiness. He didn't mean to scare her...but he wanted her to understand why he was so angry. He didn't want to offend her, but she needed to stop drinking so much. Niko looked at her, completely serious. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just hate when people drink to the point they can't control themselves or take care of themselves..." He muttered softly.
She apologized and he glanced over at her. He couldn't be too angry at her anymore. "I shouldn't expect to see you like that again, should I?"

Magdalena wished her hair was down right now. She could hide behind it. As it was, it was still up in that ponytail she was sure he'd put it in. So, instead, she tugged on the ends of her hair, absentmindedly twirling it between her fingers while her other arm stayed wrapped around her. "I'm not scared." She admitted, still not looking at him. "I.... I'm not used to people caring." They had cared. At one point. But that felt so long ago now, even though it'd only been half a year. She'd forgotten what it felt like for someone to actually be concerned. She was sure her brother was concerned about her, probably. But he was busy running the shop, running his own life, and she hadn't spoken to him in months.
At his next question she finally looked back at him, her lips pursed together tightly. Did he mean drunk in general, or that drunk? One of those she knew she couldn't answer favorably. The other.... Well, last night had been a rare occurrence. "It's usually not that bad." She finally admitted. It wasn't a promise that it wouldn't happen, just that it wasn't common.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai watched her. As he watched her fingers twirl around the end of her ponytail, he rose an eyebrow. He still didn't know her name. Maybe he should ask, that would be helpful. "What's your name again? You know mine, you never mentioned yours." He was quite blunt about it all. Nikolai noticed she wasn't looking at him, actually trying her best to not have to make eye contact. "I'm sure people care. But obviously no one has seen you that way; they can't care if they don't know." Which reminded him...he needs to owl all three of his younger sisters, as soon as possible. He doesn't want something like this happening to them.
Finally! She looked at him. She looked slightly annoyed, with her lips pursed, and Niko lowered his eyes at her, daring her to start this argument. If she said yes, he wasn't going to apologize for anything he might say. And if she said no, maybe he'd eat the food she had cooked. But he wanted to get to the bottom of this. Last night was horrible, and it could've been worse. However this girl clearly doesn't think it was bad enough to stop drinking like that. "That bad or not, it doesn't matter! You obviously don't know your limit!"

Well, he'd finally asked the big question now. She looked at him, her expression quite still. There was a moment that she was tempted to just go by her 'nickname'. Magi. That's what they called her at work. He didn't need to know who she really was, did he? Considering he'd saved her though.... She let out a sigh. "Magdalena. Ollivander." She answered softly. Pausing between her first and last name. The whole 'Ollivander' scandal was all over the Daily Prophet. Mrs. Ollivander killed in their home. Mr. Ollivander at Azkaban, prime suspect in the case. You'd have to live under a rock to not know the story. "Believe me. There's not that many people to care anymore."
As he started his lecture again, just like before she looked away. Refusing to comment. Because deep down? She knew he was right. Knew that she should listen to him. And that him, a complete stranger, seemed to care more about her well being then she cared herself. More then she let herself care. Because if she let herself care, she wouldn't be able to stop caring, and everything would come rushing back, and she'd drown in her own emotions...

@magdalena <3 She sighed. And as soon as she spoke, Nikolai looked at her. And then, he looked down at his fingers, his mind racing. Ollivander. Ollivander. She is obviously the woman's daughter. The woman who was killed, supposedly by her husband, the person that Nikolai bought his wand from. The wand sitting on his leg. Guilt immediately washed through him. Niko shut his eyes and took a deep breath, feeling the anger leave his body. She said no one was left to care, and he felt terrible.
He glanced back over at her and stood up. He walked over and grabbed some food and sat down at the table. "What about your brother? I'm sure he cares. I'm sure he's worried sick. And you can't say he doesn't, not if you're hiding from him." Nikolai wasn't sure if saying he was sorry was going to help her at all. He couldn't imagine that it would, especially with the binge drinking she's clearly been doing. After taking a few bites, he looked up at her. "Sorry, do you have coffee?" His head was beginning to hurt, and he knew if he didn't have any soon he'd turn into a bigger jerk than he already was.

There was the reaction she was expecting. He knew the story. Of course he did. She also knew that he actually knew her family, just because of the wand. She'd recognized her father's handy work anywhere. For a split moment, she wanted to get closer, to see which wand it was specifically. Which wand had chosen him? She restrained herself though. She'd been trying to stop that sort of behavior since graduating.
"I'm not hiding-" Magdalena started to respond, feeling defensive, but stopped herself and looked at the ground. Again, he was right and she couldn't deny it. So, she closed her eyes and shook her head. "He has enough on his plate already." He didn't need to worry about his screwed up sister anymore then he already was. And she didn't want to see that disappointed look when he found out what she was doing. For heaven's sake, she was a dancer at a night club. What sort of honorable job was that? It wasn't one, that's what. He'd probably lecture her about ruining the memory of their mother, wasting her talents, ruining her life, and so on. She didn't want that lecture.
Thankfully coffee was a good distraction. She nodded, turning back to kitchenette and pulling out a kettle, and filled it with water. With a tap of her wand, the water started to boil. Getting down two mugs, she stopped just long enough to look back at him. "Anything yo like in it?"

@magdalena <3 Nikolai narrowed his eyes at her. He knew she was just saying that, or maybe she really thought he didn't care. He found that particularly sad, and he hoped that his sister's would come to him no matter what, no matter how big of an asshole he may be, that they knew he loved them. Coughing, he shook his head. "I'm sure he'd want to know, Magdalena. He's your older brother, he's family, and he loves you. Trust me. Really." Nikolai couldn't imagine ever not loving his three sisters. He wasn't sure what her brother's name was, he was a bit older, but he knew that he loved her.
Magdalena began making coffee and he watched her carefully. She didn't seem sick. Just...sad. Nikolai could spot that anywhere. Coughing once more when she turned around to him, he nodded. "Cream and sugar...please." His mind then went back to his wand. 12 3/4 inches, ash wood, unicorn hair. The same exact wand of Cedric Diggory, just a different length. It was something that was extremely close to his heart, and he adored it. Looking from his wand to her, he rose an eyebrow. Could she...? "Do you know my wand?"

Magdalena let out a deep sigh. She knew that her brother loved her. That he was probably worried sick about her. "I know..." She responded softly, letting her gaze cast downward for those two words. They hurt coming out. Admitting that her brother cared, but had no idea where she was, or what she was doing. Admitting that he'd help in a heartbeat, given the choice.
She merely nodded as he asked for cream and sugar. Going back to work, she quickly prepared both coffees. Her own didn't get any added ingredients. Carrying them to the table, she raised an eyebrow as he asked about his wand. She set his mug in front of him, and took a sip of her own as she eyed his wand. "I know who made it. It's one of my father's." She responded softly. That word hurt, far worse then admitting her brother was worried and cared about her. Father. Setting her own mug down, she sat down in the chair across from him and held out her hand. "Can I see it?" She asked. Who was she to deny him when he'd brought it up?

@magdalena <3 Magdalena apparently knew about her brother, and it frustrated him a bit. He couldn't imagine what her brother was feeling right now. If he knew his sister's were in trouble and they didn't want to tell him for literally no reason, he'd be so angry with them. So to hear that out of her mouth wasn't helping him. "Well, go talk to him then. No point not to."
She brought his coffee over and he nodded in thanks. Nikolai began putting in cream, watching the dark coffee turn a light brown color. He then added a few spoon fills of sugar. Stirring his coffee, he rose an eyebrow at her and actually let a small smirk form on his lips. Niko grabbed his wand and handed it over to her, his fingers only touching the edge, so her fingers wouldn't touch his. When he had helped her out last night, he was in control and he knew that. That's why he hadn't been afraid to touch Magdalena. Because he knew he was going to be okay. But now, he was still cautious.

Magdalena didn't think she was ready to talk to her brother yet. About any of this. He'd be angry, and hurt. Just like Nikolai was. "I don't want to disappoint him." She admitted. He'd helped raise her, after all. Practically old enough to be her father. And he probably felt like, especially now, that was who he needed to be. Shaking her head she looked away for a moment, biting her lip.
Despite not wanting to get back involved with wands again, it was a welcome distraction. IT was comfortable, and safe. And something she felt confident in. Accepting his wand, she didn't even realize he'd intentionally made sure he didn't touch her. Taking the wand in both hands she gently turned it over, her gaze turning meticulous as she took in each detail. "He made this before I was born." She started. She knew from the engravings, it was an older style of his that he'd stop doing years ago. She measured it with her fingers. "Twelve and three quarters. Confident, aren't you?" Longer wands were usually drawn to bigger personalities. But not necessarily loud. That surprised her a big. Something about him was strong and intense. But what? "Ash. They like people who are strong willed, and hold fast to their beliefs. You can't wind an Ash wand's loyalty. It'll only ever be loyal to you. Some people call them stubborn, just like their masters." She held it up to her ear, listening, eyes closed. "Unicorn hair. Good combination with Ash. Just as loyal." Pressing her fingers firmly against it, she felt each grove and twist along the wand. "Doesn't bend much, does it? Rigid." She held it back out for him to take it. "You can learn a lot about someone from their wand." She finally finished.

@magdalena <3 Anyone should know by now, that Nikolai is very blunt. When people do something wrong, he doesn't tend to feel too bad for them. He tells them the honest to God truth, and if they don't like it, he usually doesn't pay them any mind. Which is exactly why he was being truthful with Magdalena. "Whether you tell him tomorrow or in three months, he's going to be disappointed in you either way so you may as well get it over with." She needed to hear the truth, otherwise she wouldn't do what she needed to.
As Nikolai watched her study his wand, he watched a few of her small, baby hairs fall into her face. Her hair was long, and dark. Even though it was up in a ponytail, Niko knew when there was a beautiful girl around. Never would he act on it, but he made note in his brain. And then as she spoke, he was shocked at how intelligent she was. And he wondered why she worked as a dancer instead of a wandmaker. He nodded his head, an impressed look on his face. Niko wasn't so sure how confident he was, but he was definitely loyal and stuck to his beliefs. Not only that, but he was incredibly stubborn. It made him chuckle. "You could say stubborn." Nikolai took a sip of his coffee and watched her eyes. "I suppose you can."

Magdalena didn't know when she'd muster the courage to see her brother. Today. Tomorrow. Or in his words, three months from now. When she managed to stop drinking? When she found a respectable job. She chose not to respond, much like many other times he'd proven to be right. It'd happen eventually, she shouldn't put it off. But she also didn't want to face it now. That was the whole point to all of this right?
Admitting that she had the 'Ollivander memory' was hard. In school she'd relished it. She'd been a know-it-all about it. As if it made her feel superior to other people. Now, it made her feel like a freak. No one wanted her mentally dissecting them, just from their wand. She didn't need to know the person at all to know them. And that made most people uncomfortable. She met his gaze steadily, her expression quite still. "Your wand is just as stubborn. Did you have trouble with it at first? Rigid wands don't like change, so it takes them longer to learn new spells. But they're usually more powerful then more flexible wands in the end."
