It'd been a week since Magdalena had gotten totally wasted and almost gotten taken advantage of. If it hadn't been for Nikolai Krum... And yet he'd turned out to be a total jerk. He had to have a sensitive side, right? He'd helped her home. Cleaned her up. You didn't do that if you didn't have a soft side. But when she'd been awake, he'd done a complete 180. Jerk. She hadn't seen him since, and didn't want to.
Today was her day off. And somehow she'd managed to get up before noon. Even more surprising she hadn't been drinking the night before, so she was actually functional. No hang overs for her. So, she went out to the park near her house. she spread the blanket out on the grass and stretched out on it. It was quiet today. Warm, but quiet. Quieter then she'd think for an afternoon like this. So she pulled some sheet music out of her bag. She hadn't played the piano in months. But that didn't mean she'd forgotten it. Spreading the music out on the blanket, she hummed as she went over the music. Perfectly content.

@magdalena HERE is little Niko as a cute puppy! <3 The week prior had changed Nikolai. He had met a girl, but not just any girl. This particular one was difficult, and had a lot of trouble to her life. She had left the well known club in London, and had almost been taken advantage of. Niko, who knew what that was like, had made sure she had gotten home safe and sound. And after one of the men had threatened that it wouldn't be the last time he saw her, Nikolai had taken the time out of his nights, every night, to become his animagus form, and make sure she made it home. Magdalena, that was the girl's name, had never seen him. He was a small puppy, very cute, but easily hidden. No man would be afraid of a small puppy, but it would give Niko the chance to transform back into a human with ease.
And today, as he walked to her apartment, the same as he had the prior night, he watched her walk across the street to a park instead of to the club. Niko was currently a puppy, so he had a lot of people to say hi to as he walked his little legs into the park. Many didn't find it unusual to see a dog walking around, especially without a collar. And if they tried to pick him up he'd just run. He hobbled over to Magdalena, and listened to her. She was...humming? That was unusual. His eyes could see sheet music, and Nikolai was curious. He got over to her blanket and let out a little howl, watching her reaction.

Magdalena didn't know she was being followed. How could she though? She wasn't the most observant person around, as she'd already proven from her Night club job. Men knew it too, that was why she'd almost been taken advantage of. But even today, out in the open, middle of the day, totally sober, she seemed just as oblivious. It wasn't that she trusted people. She just... didn't distrust them either. She was quite neutral in her stance and others. So, while she felt no desire to believe she wasn't being followed, she also felt no need to think she was. Couldn't get much more neutral then that.
She was just turning the page when she heard that high pitch, immature howl, and jumped. She rolled onto her back and sat up, a little, startled... Only to find the source of the howl right there. Next to her blanket. A puppy, totally and completely alone. Just howling. She sat up fully, head tilting a little as she stared in disbelief at the creature. It was adorable, she'd give it that. But why was it here alone? Where was it's owner? "Hey little guy. Are you lost?" Great. talking to a dog. She talked to cats all the time. Dogs? Not so much.

@magdalena HERE is little Niko as a cute puppy! And yes, but he's a nice stalker! <3 Nikolai had startled her, that much he could see. But why would such a small little puppy be so scary? Even his howl wasn't all that bad, so he assumed she was still a bit nervous from the past week at work. Niko could understand why. He jumped up and down when she spoke to him, and shook his head, his ears flapping back and forth.
He walked closer to her and stretched, his tiny puppy bum in the air. Niko licked her hand gently, his tail wagging ferociously. This is what he enjoyed about being an animagi; he could touch and be touched without fear.

Magdalena got over her surprise pretty quick. Her visitor, the puppy, was bounding about happily, as if ecstatic that it had gotten her attention. She found herself smiling, something that felt so foreign and unfamiliar to her when she was sober. She smiled a lot when drunk, but that was different. She smiled then because all she could feel was having a good time. Right now, she could feel everything, and yet.... she was smiling. Strange. It was soft, but it was still a smile. She looked away from the puppy long enough to look around, trying to see if there was anyone else nearby, the owner specifically. But there was no one. And she couldn't hear anyone yelling a name either. "Where's your owner?" She asked softly, though obviously it wouldn't respond. Was it a stray?
She looked back at the happy little creature, who had crept much closer during the time she'd looked away. She slowly held out her hand, to see if it'd let her pet it. Instead, the puppy chose to lick the offered hand. That soft smile of hers grew a little bigger. More... well, like a normal smile! Well, stray or not, it was a friendly puppy, well socialized. It didn't seem afraid of her at all. She didn't move too fast, so as not to scare the puppy. If it let her, she moved the hand it was licking to gently pet the top of it's head.
@jill9 (well, he's a nice puppy stalker. not so much when human! baahahah.)

@magdalena HERE is little Niko as a cute puppy! And yes, but he's a nice stalker! <3 She asked where his owner was, and Nikolai had to think. He wasn't sure how to respond to that. He obviously didn't have an owner, but then again, he was a human, not an actual dog. However, Niko didn't plan on revealing himself to her. This was how he made sure she was safe; he didn't know if he cared for her, or just didn't want her getting hurt by those men. Either way, he was going to continue following her. For her own safety.
Niko watched as she smiled, a real smile, and he wagged his tail even faster, happy that she was happy. She seemed to need it, especially with all she's gone through. Nikolai had moved on from his past, but even then there were some times that he was upset. He barked at her, and jumped up on her leg, his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth.

Magdalena didn't know why she was asking this puppy questions. It couldn't respond to her, not like cats did at least. It probably had no idea what she was even saying. Which made her feel even more stupid that she was attempting to 'make conversation' with it. So why was she? She couldn't explain the feeling that just... Made her want to talk. It was strange.
The dog's little tail was whipping back and forth quickly, obviously excited and happy itself. Dogs were quite different then cats in that sense. Tails wagging was a good thing with dogs. Cats? It usually meant you were bugging them. The fact that this small creature was.. Well happy, and that she might have played a small role in that? That's what kept that smile on her lips for so long. The bark was a surprise, making her jump just a little, and then the puppy was on her leg, just has happy as before. She'd pulled her hand back a little when it barked, but moved her hand back, petting it on the top of it's head. "Aren't you just a sweetheart." She softly said, though still totally aware that the dog wouldn't understand her (as far as she knew).

@magdalena <3 When he barked he realized that he made her jump again and Nikolai settled down a bit, not wanting to scare her. She probably had enough fright in her life. He continued wagging his tail, but slower this time. And since she had pulled her hand away, he attempted to lick it, but it was too far. Tilting his head at her, he shook his body a bit, hoping she understood that he didn't plan on harming her at all.
Magdalena began petting the top of his head and Niko sat down, shutting his eyes, loving the feeling. It almost looked like he was smiling. He opened his eyes and sniffed her arm. Nik walked over her leg and sat down in her lap, curling up. He rested his small head on her leg and looked up at her, panting. He didn't want her to feel idiotic for talking to him. Plenty of people spoke with dogs, especially cute ones like him.

As if understanding that it'd startled her, the puppy just... seemed to settle down. She'd never spent that much time around dogs, puppies especially. When she had, they were always so full of energy, prancing about happily without a care in the world. This one seemed to be more.... sensitive. As if aware of her own emotions. That it had startled her. That settling down a bit might help. That she wasn't used to handling dogs. It seemed perfectly content with her petting it for only a moment, before finally crawling into her lap and... just curling up. Completely comfortable, head on her leg. That surprised her, but in a good way. She couldn't help but smile as the puppy stared up at her with those big eyes. She stopped petting it for only a moment, before returning to petting it softly. "Are you alone? Don't you have a home, little guy?" Why was she still talking? Why didn't she just stop trying to talk to the puppy? "How are you so happy...? I'm envious."

@magdalena <3 She seemed shocked that he had sat down in her lap, but beagles were very friendly dogs, Nikolai knew as much. They also loved attention, which he was obviously getting from Magdalena now. She asked some more questions and the puppy shook his ears back and forth. He rolled over onto his back, getting comfy in her nap. He licked her arm and squiggled around a bit too get as comfy as possible. He wished he could talk... But then again, he just wanted to make her somewhat happy.

Magdalena smiled again as the puppy shook it's head and rolled onto its back, obviously comfortable. The lick on her arm was a good sign. She didn't stop petting it for that reason, though shifted ever so slightly herself to get more comfortable. She moved slowly and carefully, so as not to dislodge the puppy in any way. "You know, I know someone with a puppy. Maybe if I asked him he might take you in too. But I don't know. I didn't make the best impression on him. Probably won't see him again." she was thinking aloud now. It was starting to feel a little more normal talking to the puppy.

@magdalena <3 Oh, did Nikolai wish he could talk. Because no, she hadn't made the best impression on him, but she still made an impression. And one that was obviously meant to stay as he made sure she was home safe pretty much every night. Niko was quite cocky, so he probably would take in a puppy as cute as himself, who wouldn't? Rolling back over onto his legs, he shook his body a bit, getting used to standing again. He walked up her lap a bit and put his front paws on her chest. Reaching his head forward slightly, Niko gave her a few licks to her cheek. He then hopped off her leg and began running away, his little legs taking him to a place where no one could see him. But, he did plan on seeing her again soon.
