@magdalena <3 She did it. She did exactly what he knew she was tempted to do. At the first step closer, he felt a shudder run through his body and he moved his head in a circle, cracking the bones. His heart rate was speeding up, and he was beginning to feel dizzy. Her words ran through his body, but he couldn't talk. He didn't know what to say.
As soon as she began taking that next step, Nikolai moved out of the way. His eyes wide as he looked at her, gasping for breath, he didn't know what to make of her. And now she told him to leave? What kind of mind game was that? Once he caught his breath, he swallowed and shook his head at her. "You want me to go, now?"

It was cruel. Magdalena knew that. Playing at something that she knew made him uncomfortable. But he'd been doing that all night to her. She saw the change in him immediately. How he just seemed to freeze up. That second step got the desired results. He gasped, and moved, creating that distance once more. It shouldn't have surprised her, but she still a pang of regret. Using something like that to get her way was wrong. But she didn't take it back. Or rather she wouldn't. "I'm home aren't I? Didn't you intend to just walk me home?" She responded, her expression quite still as she looked at him, refusing to let her guilt show.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai didn't know what this girl was playing at. Thankfully she didn't seem affected by his reaction, nor did she question it. However, he was offended that she was just making him go after traumatizing him like that. He gulped, and then he narrowed his eyes at her again, this time in slight annoyance. "Yes, those were my intentions. But if you'd like me to go... Fine." Niko looked at her once more, but this time, he looked at her gently, trying to search her eyes. Then he turned, prepared to walk down the stairs.

Magdalena held her ground when he glared, refusing to react. She wasn't going to apologize. Not to him. He hadn't apologized to her. Just said he hadn't meant it. So, neither would she. She turned on the top step, so she could watch as he started to move, her arms wrapped around her again. "Give me a reason then. To let you stay." She asked, even though his back was to her already. Would he actually stop? She didn't know. Did she want him to stop? She knew even less. The more she learned about him, the more confused she felt. The more she realized.... that she didn't want to be confused about him. She swallowed, forcing that feeling down into the pit she threw all her other unwanted feelings.

@magdalena <3 He heard her voice as he walked down a few steps, and at the last one, he stopped. He looked at the street in front of him, thinking. Niko wasn't sure what kind of reason she wanted. All he knew, war that Magdalena was enticing... She was something he didn't want to just get rid of. His heart beat fast as he thought of the only thing that would convince her to let him stay. Niko took a deep breath and turned around. He walked back up the steps slowly, speaking as he went. "Maybe... Maybe I want to be helped, as much as I want to help you."

Nikolai stopped. He didn't respond immediately, standing still for a handful of what felt like endless moments. Finally though he turned back to her. And for a moment, everything seemed to stand still as she heard his answer. She didn't say anything at first. Just stared at him, meeting his gaze in silence as he walked back up the stairs until he was back up on the porch with her and she had to look up just a little to keep eye contact. At long last though, she nodded. "Okay." Was her only response, and approval. She turned around, pulling her keys out of her bag and unlocking the door to the building. IT was one of those apartment buildings where the exterior door was always locked,. You had to have a key, or be buzzed in. "Come in." She softly added, holding the door open just long enough that he'd be able to catch it and follow her up the stairs to her apartment. This time she was sure to respect his bubble, not trespassing into his territory again. She stopped before unlocking her apartment door, looking back at him. "The cats are in the living room. So you know." How did she know that? The door was only open a crack when she'd spoken, the lights out.
As she pushed the door open though, it turned out to be true. Both cats were on the couch. The same breed, obviously, but different coloring "Ditzy. Klutz." She pointed to each one, the rust colored was Ditzy, the other Klutz. "They don't scratch" she added, as if to reassure him. But it also seemed like... a warning to them.

@magdalena <3 Okay? That was it? He would've laughed if he didn't feel so... Weird. His heart was still going fast, and his stomach and chest... They felt, so different. Walking up to her apartment, alone. It was something Nikolai had never felt before. Too bad Dan wasn't here... He'd be able to tell him what he was feeling. Put a name to it.
Once they walked through the building, lots of unlocking doors to do, they went through her door. Magdalena mentioned the cats again and Niko scrunched up his nose. Ugh. Cats. He forgot about them. They're names at least got him to smile a bit. "Clever choice of names." He spoke quietly and gently. Nik slowly walked over to where he had sat only a week prior in the kitchen, and sat down, watching her.

Magdalena smiled back as he spoke, though only just a little. She went to the couch where they were relaxing and scratched each cat on the head. "They were fitting for about a week. Then they out grew them." She'd also been twelve, and had intentionally tried to be clever when it came to naming them. She could actually feel his gaze on her as she greeted the cats, who, in their own way seemed happy to see her. One of them kept giving him a wary look. To which Magdalena softly chastised. She spoke to softly for him to understand, but with the way the cat looked back at her... It was almost as if it had understood her. Satisfied, she turned away from them and met that gaze he had her fixed with. "They won't bother you, as long as you don't bother them."
She was tempted, to take the chair opposite him at the table, though she was accutely aware of how his gaze still stayed trained on her own, never looking anywhere before her eyes. Well... She had shed her sweater earlier, the only thing that had covered her quite revealing uniform. She'd be fine running around in it still, but for some reason she... wanted him to be a little more comfortable. "I'll go change..." She softly said, before quickly heading into the bedroom and closing the door. Again, not for her sake, but for his. She wasn't shy. Not only that, he'd already seen it all before, hadn't he? None the less, she quickly washed off the smeared make up, put her hair up in a messy bun, and changed into a black tank top and gray sweat pants. She took a deep breath before finally leaving the room, and headed for the kitchenette. She didn't say anything as she got down the kettle, filled it with water and set in on the stove, to start to boil. Only then did she look back at him.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai kept his gaze on her as she greeted her cats and then spoke to one. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing; he didn't feel the need to make fun of her anymore, to push her away. Apparently his pushing away had only pulled her closer, and in turn it also revealed something about him that he hadn't planned on sharing.
Magdalena went to go get changed and Niko tried to compose himself. Her body hadn't been the least of his worries, but he was a bit grateful that she had changed. However she looked even more beautiful now, just in sweatpants. After looking at her once more he turned his eyes away to look back at the cats. She began boiling hot water and looked at him, so he looked at her. Niko wasn't sure what to say, so he figured he'd attempt to lighten the mood. Raising an eyebrow he shook his head slightly and gave her a goofy grin.

Nikolai was the first one to break the ice. Not with words though, which is what she'd been expecting. It was an eyebrow raise and a goofy grin. It caught her off guard, the girl blinking in surprise, but found a smile of her own trying to respond. She fought it for only a moment, before letting it stretch across her lips. Shaking her head, she looked away. Not out of shame or embarrassment though. But because that smile made her feel... strange. "Tea or hot chocolate?" IT was too late for coffee. Heavens no. Well... early actually. It was after two in the morning after all. If either of them planned on sleeping tonight, coffee was the worst option.

@magdalena <3 She responded with her own smile and Niko's grew bigger. She was beautiful, that was for sure. But he was glad he could make her smile. Everything that had been occurring with her was all so stressful and angry, and now... Well, they were just them. Niko was still slightly embarrassed at how he acted when she stepped closer to him, but it wasn't like he could stop it. He hadn't been in that close of proximity of sometime willingly in forever. It was an uncomfortable feeling. "Tea, please. With milk and sugar, if you've got it." Nikolai's voice was gentle as he spoke. Whatever was going to come out of this he wasn't sure, but he hoped she spoke soon.

Magdalena was making sure to keep her distance now. She didn't want to hurt him, and so when she's intentionally gotten to close it was because she was hurt and angry. She wouldn't be overstepping her boundaries anytime soon. "You don't really like anything plain, do you? she noted, remembering how he took his coffee as well. Getting down two mugs she filled each with hot water, and dropped a tea bag into his. Setting it on the table before him, the sugar and milk followed so he could decide how much of each he wanted while she fixed her own hot chocolate. Only once done did she sit down at the table across from him, blowing on her hot drink to cool it down just a bit.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai rose an eyebrow and gave her a small smirk. "No...I don't. Doesn't taste right to me. And I like sweet things, which is why I get the sugar." Niko put the milk in his tea first, making sure it was the correct color before adding in a few spoonful's of sugar. It was a bit hot, and he blew on it gently before taking a small sip.
Putting the mug down when Magdalena sat, he just looked at her. He was slightly embarrassed about what had just happened outside, but his calm demeanor was back. Not only that, but he didn't even know what to say to her. He just knew that he wanted to be around her, and to help her. "Are you going to tell me when your next day off is?" Probably not the best question to ask so soon, but he added a smile in with it. Hopefully she told him.

Apparently he had a sweet tooth. Magdalena, surprisingly, didn't have too much of one, sort of. She liked sweets, of course. But she didn't like cakes or any other baked goodies high in sugar. She smiled just a bit at his admittance. "I'll have to remember that." did she want to remember it? She didn't want to accept the answer quite yet, even though she knew.
She raised an eyebrow as he asked that same question about her day off. Not answering immediately, she instead chose to take a long, slow sip of her hot chocolate. Forcing him to wait for any sort of reaction. He could use more patience. After several moments she finally lowered her mug and tilted her head a little to the side. "Are you going to ask politely?" she countered with her own smile. She'd tell him, of course. But not for free.

@magdalena <3 His eyes narrowed gently when she smiled at him. Did she find it amusing? Nikolai liked sweets, but he was probably the pickiest man anyone would ever meet. Which is why when Magdalena said she'd have to remember that, he laughed. He actually laughed. "Well, if you're going to remember that, you've got a lot more you're going to need to remember. I'm extremely picky when it comes to food, especially my sweets."
And then the silence continued. Nikolai took a sip of his own tea, enjoying the warmth going down his throat as he awaited her response. It didn't bother him, now that they were...well, were they on good terms? Were they still arguing? He had no clue. Niko's smile fell into a frown and her gave her a small glare. "No, probably not." He was really just messing with her now, but he was going to stick to his word and not say please. He wanted to get this out of her.
