Theodosia gave Desirae a winning smile when the older girl greeted her. Theodosia lived for the praise that the older Purifiers bestowed upon her – well, all the older Purifiers who weren’t whiny old sods, which amounted to Elaine, Desirae, and the other members of Hexen. She couldn’t care less about the Lestrange or the Flint, beyond the fact that she couldn’t believe that the woman had given birth to the two monstrosities that shared a dormitory with Lucy and Viovinnia and Ondina. Speaking of Ondina, when the older girl mentioned the Slaters, Theodosia shrugged one of her shoulders. “Wasn’t actually all that much fun.” They hadn’t exploded nearly as violently as Theodosia had hoped for. Maybe they had learned a little pureblood decency and decided to air out their dirty laundry behind closed doors.
When Elaine asked for a status report, Theodosia raised her arm for a moment to indicate she was going to begin speaking. “Anyone in Slytherin worth being here is here already, with a few exceptions.” She began. “The Zabinis might be able to be persuaded. The girl, at least, has a thirst for something. Whether it’s a better world or not, I don’t know, but she’d probably be receptive to a little courting.” Other than that, Theodosia couldn’t think of anyone in her house who would want to join. The freak and the werewolf certainly wouldn’t. When asked about any questions, Theo raised her arm again. “What do you want us to do about the Champion, if it isn't one of ours?” Theodosia would be more than happy to make their life a living hell...or maybe a dead one.

Theo smirked at Desirae’s response. The girl was far from over herself and her self-loathing, but she was doing a better job of hiding it these days. She even managed to pretend she was okay with him being around! He only halfways paid attention as others filed in, including more Weasleys than he ever would have expected. Upbringing was important. How had that particular family raised pureblood supremacists? Not that Theo would ever discourage them from thinking for themselves, but it was so odd. Seeing Nikolaj enter was hardly a surprise either. Though—Pansy Flint was unexpected. Theo knew her from pureblood dinner parties. He still remembered her children—River and one of the twins were singularly unimpressive, but Raleigh and the other twin—something that started with D?—had some potential to them. Particularly the brother, who was well known to be working at the Leaky Cauldron. Either he was defying his parents to live his own life, or he was sneaking into the literal lion’s den. Either way, it was impressive.
Elaine went through the usual veiled threats and faux affable greetings, then called for information on the Triwizzard Tournament. Theo was somewhat unsettled by the thought. Surely she had no intention of targeting Hogwarts. Sure, it had been a partial success last year. And by partial, he meant that the Purifiers had accomplished a small portion of their goal, in exchange for over 90% casualties. Such an attack would not work again, of that he was certain. Especially not this year.
When Theodosia asked what they should do to the Hogwarts champion, Theo had to stop and stare for a moment. “Don’t be foolish, Namesake. The champions will all be heavily guarded this year. Taking the chance of targeting them? There’s no value in that. And certainly no value worth the high risk of getting caught. If the Scarred Messiah or one of his sidekicks catches you, you’ll die. And if it’s that dirt-digger in charge of the school who catches you, you’ll die screaming. And for what reward? There's no meaning in killing someone just so Bulgaria and France find out we exist.”

Matty tried not to look at anyone else as they entered. It was so unsettling to see fellow students like Ondina and Lucy in the room; people who he had grown up with and people who were Weasleys plotting against their own family. Even Matty, who grew up in a very cowardly, calloused family, felt he could never do that to them. It definitely did not sit well with him and even planted a disgusted and disappointed look on his face.
Mathieu looked up at Elaine, waiting for her to speak, as she looked around the room. When her eyes reached him, he immediately averted his own and looked down at his feet. The young Slytherin who was usually around Lucy and Ondina spoke up then, saying something about the Zabinis. Matty felt his breath catch, knowing Elaine would certainly expect him to talk to them himself. Then Theodorus Nott spoke up. Matty knew him from playing Beater with him last year. The guy was full of it, in Matty's opinion, but he was still pretty scary. And so was his sister.
Wanting to make a fairly good impression on Elaine so it looked like he was at least trying, Matty spoke up next to change the subject. "Loïc Rosier may be a person on interest," he added. "I think I've seen him hang around the Nott girl." Was it okay to call her that with her scary older brother around?
Ondina Nell Weasley up next!!
