@magdalena <3 It had been a day or two since Nikolai was admitted into St. Mungo's for a stab wound. The first day had been completely emotional, with all of his siblings here including Dan and Magdalena. They had all slowly got to know one another, but it was a hard with him in pain just laying there. He had cried his eyes out to Dan, completely alone with him in the room, with Dan holding him. It was hard, having all of these things in life happen to you, and then some else happens. He wasn't sure how to deal with it all, but Dan was the only person who really knew him, and that is why he just wanted him over everyone else.
Magi was a wreck, Niko could see it. It was very obvious. He didn't know what to do to help her. He just wanted her to know he wasn't angry, to know he wasn't upset with her. But she had left too soon to give him time with his family. He was not walking just yet as the pain was still pretty grueling, but he had a sponge bath and was laying awake in the bed. A door opened and he glanced over, wondering who was here.

Magdalena hadn't stayed long once Nikolai's family had shown up. She just... Couldn't. Couldn't face them, knowing that it was her fault they were there. Her fault their brother got hurt. Her fault.
She hadn't managed to bring herself to speak even once before she left that first night. In fact, she was pretty sure she hadn't spoken since then either. She'd gone home and just collapsed in her bed, refusing to move no matter how loud her cats' protest. They kept wanting to know what was wrong. Who's blood was on her clothes. Where was the other human that smelled like a dog. Magdalena couldn't even respond to them, and eventually they gave up and left her alone.
When she finally managed to compose herself it was morning. She wasn't sure if it was the morning right after or the next day. Magi wanted to just keep on laying there, as if petrified by her emotions, but knew she needed to go back. To... To tell him that she was sorry. So, it took all that remained of her will to get up and finally get ready for the day. She dressed casually. A simple tshirt and jeans, her hair left hanging down her back. She didn't wear any make up so she wouldn't have to worry about it rubbing if she cried, but she didn't know if she had the energy to cry anymore.
When she got to the hospital she managed to at least say his name when checking in, so they knew who she was visiting. The staff didn't push her for more. They'd seen that look many times. At long last she reached his room, knocking softly before pushing open the door. The first thing she saw was Nikolai. Awake. Looking a little better then that night. The memories came rushing back, and she swallowed. Word came out before she realized she was speaking, she sound of her voice startling her. "I'm sorry..."

@magdalena <3 It was her. She walked in the door, gorgeous as ever. Her hair down her back, in a pair of jeans. His heart swelled as he looked at her, his whole demeanor calming down. God, did he miss her. And it hadn't even been that long. It had probably only been 24 hours, he wasn't sure how long he had been in the hospital. But as soon as he saw her, he became happy. Nikolai just wanted her to lay down with him, to be with him.
His eyes widened, excitement running through them. But her face showed something different. She looked sad, guilty, and a bit angry. Niko tilted his head, trying to sit up in the bed without hurting his wound. That didn't happen, so as he sat up he grimaced. Sorry? What is she sorry for? His eyes narrowed slightly and he gave her a look that was shocked.
"Olli... please don't be sorry. I'm okay. I'm still here. I'm still me...I'm not angry with you." It practically sounded like he was begging her, wanting her to know how he felt.

Magdalena flinched as he sat up and grimaced. She didn't want him to be in pain. She hated that he was hurt. Her gaze dropped to the ground as he told her not to be sorry. That he wasn't angry.
He should be though. Because if it wasn't for her he wouldn't have gotten hurt like this. She... She loved him. And because she did he'd been in harms way. "You should.... It's my fault...." she looked up then. She wasn't crying, but she was clearly upset. "I didn't think.... I didn't know that you'd get hurt because of my stupid mistakes." they were following her after all. Not him. If she'd stayed away from him, the men stalking her wouldn't have felt a need to hurt him.
She hadn't moved any closer to him, just stood near the door, as if afraid to get any closer.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai couldn't help but look at her with a sad face. She was so distraught, it was something he's never seen before. His eyes looked down at his torso, at the red soaked bandage and then back to her. It wasn't her fault. She didn't know how horrible those men were, and neither did he. But he wasn't upset with her; he just never wanted her to go back to that place. Ever.
Having studied healing for oh so long, he knew he shouldn't be moving much but Niko also knew he'd be healed soon. Not only had he heard the healers say that, but he felt good too. Magi was so far away, he just wanted her close. "Would you come here? Please...?" Niko didn't even care if he sounded desperate. Magdalena was sad, and she wasn't close enough for his liking. He needed to touch her, needed to feel that spark so he didn't feel so empty.

Magdalena didn't know what to do now. She'd apologized, which was what she wanted. But what now? What was she supposed to do? She'd... She'd never been in a situation like this, and so she was at a complete loss. Should she stay? Should she see if she could help with something? Should she leave? She didn't know, and not knowing was making it so much worse.
She'd looked away in those moments before he spoke, but when she heard his words her gaze shot up immediately, eyes wide. Not only had he sounded desperate but she heard that word. The one that he'd refused to ever say to her. Avoiding the word please had practically become a part of their relationship. So hearing him say it stunned her, shocking her just enough to actually... Well listen! She swallowed, and then nodded. It took a moment for her to get her feet to actually move, but when they did she crossed the room. She wanted to just take one of the chairs near the bed, but for some reason she sat on the side of the bed, not touching him. "I promised you that I wouldn't hurt you, Nikolai... I... Broke that promise." she finally admitted softly, her gaze lingering on the bandage for a moment before she managed to look away entirely.

@magdalena <3 He watched her as she slowly walked across the room. She looked extremely upset, but Nikolai just wanted her to be happy. He didn't blame her for anything, it wasn't Magi that grabbed him and stabbed him in the side. She had been hurt herself and Niko had just remembered that. "Oh! Your nose! Are you okay?"
As Magi sat down on the end of the bed, he gave her a goofy grin, hoping to calm her nerves. He moved his foot and tapped her in the back with his toes. "Hey... stop it. You didn't hurt me, someone else did. That promise is not broken, yeah?"

Magdalena had only just sat down when he asked about her nose. She blinked, the tiniest a or of surprise showing. She'd been so worried about him that she'd forgotten that she'd been hurt too. Hers healed faster though. She reached up and lightly touched her nose. It was still a little sore. "They broke it. Noses heal faster then stab wounds though." it was surprisingly simple to heal noses, thank goodness.
He tapped her lightly with his foot, and she felt that same pull. The one that made her want to be in his arms and never let go. Right now that pull was stronger then ever, probably because she'd been so terrified she might lose him. Slowly she nodded. She knew he was right, but just couldn't shake those feelings of guilt. she sat for a moment, before letting out an almost relieved breath, and it felt like one of the many weights on her chest lifted. She ran her hands through her hair, her gaze downward. "I'm... I'm just so glad you're going to be okay." she mumbled softly

@magdalena <3 Magi touched her nose and Nikolai very much so wanted to kiss it. He wanted to know she was okay, since she had done all this worrying about him. It was his time to worry about her. Niko ignored her comment about the stabbing, not wanting her to get even more upset. He'd deal with that on his own.
"I'm glad I'm okay too, Magi. But don't keep worrying, what's happened, happened. And it won't change it if you keep thinking about it. Just think about all the time you have left with good ol' me." Nik gave her a wink and tilted his head slightly. That was not the way he wanted his family to meet Magdalena. They still don't even know who she is to him and that isn't going to be something he wants to talk about while he's in the hospital. "You enjoy my family? Ana seemed to have recalled you."

Magdalena sighed as he mentioned his family. She still wasn't feeling that great, but him being awake and at least acting like himself was enough of a distraction for her to function somewhat normally. The feelings were all still there. Still drowning her. But just below the surface now. "I wish I could stop thinking about it...." she admitted softly, so softly she wasn't sure if he'd hear it. It kept coming back, no matter how hard she tried to forget. Seeing him like that... It was as if the image was burned into her mind.
Him mentioning his family was a welcome distraction. She sighed, shaking her head. "I don't think I made a good first impression." she admitted. She'd been completely mute, still so much in shock that she couldn't muster a sound.

@magdalena <3 As the room was fairly silent, Nikolai had heard her words. They had been hard to figure out, but he got them eventually. Nikolai sighed himself, watching her expression. She was really upset by all of this, and even he was beginning to get frustrated. Niko wasn't usually selfish, but he was the one in the hospital, he was the one that had been stabbed. He understood she felt guilty, but just pitying herself wasn't going to fix him nor was it going to make him get any better. His eyes narrowed at her. "Magdalena, stop. Now. You aren't helping by acting that way." His tone was snippy, hoping she'd finally get that this wasn't about her.
Niko then chuckled. Obviously she hadn't! "Well, I think everyone in the room knew that." He gave her a small smile before leaning his head back on the pillow, looking up at the blank, white ceiling. How depressing. No wonder why people stayed in the hospital forever, there was nothing nice to look at. A few flowers were at his side, from family mostly. He did enjoy flowers, he'd probably set them up around his house as decoration. "I'm sure the next time you meet them, you'll make a great impression."

Magdalena shut her eyes as he snapped at her. Why did he have to be right all the time? Slowly she let out a sigh, followed by a small head shake and her eyes opening again. When she finally looked at him, she'd forced herself to smile a little. "What can I do to help you?" He was, after all, the one that had been stabbed. He couldn't move much still, from how little he'd moved thus far.
She turned a little at the foot of he bed, facing him rather then to the side, and ran her fingers through her hair again. "Do I have to be that sober next time?" She asked. She sounded totally and completely serious, but there was a look in her eyes that made the joke obvious. She hadn't had any alcohol since this whole thing started, despite desperately wanting to. That first night, holding his hand had been the only thing stopping her. And the rest of the time? She'd just been to numb to move.

@magdalena <3 Her smile was forced, but nonetheless, he was glad she was trying. It wasn't every day that someone would survive a stab wound, but Nikolai was one of the lucky ones. And while he was lucky, he still wanted her to know that she could be happy. Magi was allowed to be glad he was okay, but she was also allowed to be sad. Just not...sad to the point where she couldn't speak. Nikolai couldn't have imagined what that looked like, but he knew how it felt. And here he was, still smiling. Still wanting to hold her. "Just be with me. Don't be so sad."
Her comment made him glare at her. Niko knew that she was kidding, but at the same time, he wasn't so just how joking she was being. He felt like there was a chance of Magi showing up a bit buzzed, however he wasn't going to allow that to happen. "Very funny, Magdalena." Nikolai shook his head and coughed, glancing up at the bags and cords that were all hooked up to him. Gosh he just wanted to go home. His green eyes found brown, and he smiled softly. "Will you lay down with me?"

Just be with him. That was his request. One she could, thankfully, easily do. Not being sad? Well, that would take some work. At least she could follow one of his requests. She nodded. "I will.'" she agreed softly. She wouldn't leave. She wouldn't have left the other night if it hadn't been for his sisters and that other boy. But their presence just... She felt they were the ones he needed then. Hence her retreat.
Magdalena shrugged at his glare, trying to ease herself back into functioning like a normal person. "I'm funnier when I'm not sober." She retorted, though that was a total lie. He'd seen her buzzed a few times, but never that strong. He'd never seen her when she was on the drunk and not buzzed side. She got pretty mean then. If he thought she was snippy normally, he wouldn't want to see that. His cough made her eyebrows furrow together in worry. But thankfully he didn't cough again. Only when he looked back at her and smiled did her eyebrows relax and a faint, but genuine smile touched her lips. She stood up and moved to the head of the bed. Thankfully she was already on the uninjured side, so, if she was careful she didn't need to worry about aggravating the wound. While she stood there, she carefully cupped his face in her hands and kissed his forehead. "Just tell me if it hurts, okay?" She asked as she pulled away, letting her hands fall away from his face. She waited a few moments before sitting down on the bed next to him, then laying back slowly and rolled onto her side to face him. Her dark eyes scanned his own, searching for any signs of whether or not the movement had irritated the injury in anyway.

@magdalena <3 Those two words made him feel much better than he had prior. At least she was trying. Whether it was the truth, or she would actually do what she said was still up in the air. Nikolai knew she was hurting, but it was a different hurt than him. His was physical, hers mental. But as long as Magdalena agreed, there wasn't much more Nikolai could do but remind her every so often when she fell out of the loop.
Niko's eyes kept his glare on her. She was so difficult to deal with even though he cared for her so much. "Well, I like you sober, and so will my family, yeah? I don't want you drinking around them." It wasn't that Niko was embarrassed of her, goodness no. He just wanted her to be herself around his family. That is what was important to him; her real self. Her being who she is, and not someone she won't remember in the morning. If she understood that, he wasn't sure, but he truly hoped she did.
Magi got him. She watched him, and walked around him. His eyes watched her as well, and he nodded his head at her question. Of course he wouldn't let her know. Even if it hurt, he'd get used to the pain. He just wanted to feeling of her next to him again. Magdalena slowly lied down, and Niko shut his eyes as she did so, concentrating on his side and how it felt. It didn't hurt too bad...not bad enough for him to tell her to stop. Niko turned his head to the left, his eyes looking right into hers. He smirked. "I want a kiss now."
