Louisa had been on tour in Asia when she received her parents letter about the Tri-Wizard tournament. Specifically that Daniel had been selected as a candidate for Durmstrang. A great honor. Anyone would be proud, and excited for the chance. But Louisa? Not so much. Because the more she read about what was happening in England, the worse she felt about Daniel being there. So, when she got a job offer in London, she took it immediately. She got offers constantly. Mostly concert halls wanting her to come perform. Her agent ignored most of them, not even letting the offers reach her. Not this time though. Louisa had intervened immediately, saying she'd take it. The concert would start for several months, but rehearsals would be long, and grueling, with several pieces that Louisa had never performed before. Basically it was a good excuse for her to stay in London for a while.
So, of course, when she arrived, she'd sent an owl to Daniel, letting him know that work had brought her to London (thought didn't mention he'd been the reason why she took said job.), and that she'd like to see her 'baby brother' for at least a few minutes during the next Hogsmeade trip.
The Three Broomsticks was not her usual 'scene'. It was loud. and busy. And just not.... Louisa. Would anyone be able to hear her in this place? But everyone had said that this was the best place to meet someone. That everyone knew where the Three Broomsticks was. She shouldn't have listened to them. But, she'd deal with it for her brother. She sat by herself in one of the booths, in plain sight of the doors but away from most of the activity, and waited for her brother, a book open in her lap.

Dan was incredibly excited to get a letter from Louisa! She was his favorite sister. His only sister, but still his favorite. He knew he'd spend some of the Hogsmede trip with Irina but- ah, Irina. He wondered what Loo would think about that... he wasn't sure if he was ready to tell her. He still had no idea what was going on. Up to this point, all that had had happened between him and Irina was kissing and eating together on his birthday along with swimming, telling her about his ability, and not spending much alone time together ever since. He didn't even know what he felt about all this... so how could he tell Louisa?
So, he decided, he wouldn't.
Loo was the biggest blessing in his life. The girl was the calmest person he'd ever crossed in his life and she always gave him a decent warning before blowing up. That warning was- feeling anything at all. He was just so used to her being so subdued that whenever he felt even the tiniest spike in her emotions, he ran. No, like literally ran.
He found his way to the broomsticks and quickly found her sitting across the room. He grinned, crossing over to her and sat beside her, not across from her, and kissed her on the cheek in greeting. "Loo! How was Asia? How are you? What's up?" Loo was the only person he touched. Well... until Irina.

Louisa looked perfectly and completely content. Her posture relaxed, her eyes half closed, her breathing slow but steady. Even in a place like this, that often called for more alertness. She didn't seem to have a care in the world. As still and quiet as the calm ocean, unswayed and taking every disturbance with grace and little reaction. There were times, of course, when the storm would blow in and disturb her normally unswayed demeanor, but those storms were so extremely rare they hardly ever happened. She'd always been like this even as a child. Even before they learned about Daniel's empathy. Of course, when they had discovered what Daniel could do, her impassiveness had, at times, been a life saver in the house. When emotions had run high with their parents, or family friends, all Louisa had to do was step in, and take Daniel away from it. So he could focus on her emotions rather then everyone else's.
As her younger brother slid onto the bench beside her, Louisa shut the book, gently setting it down on the table and smiled at him. She turned a little, to return the kiss on the cheek, before placing a hand on that same cheek and smiled again. "Dan." Was her soft, whispery greeting. Most people would find her speech hard to understand, and wonder if she was shy since she always spoke so quietly. But she wasn't She simply had no reason to speak louder, and no desire too. "Good, all good. Asia was wonderful, but I missed home." She always missed home. But she also loved traveling. Exploring new places, seeing the world. And now here she was, in England. She never seemed to stay in any one place for long. "I brought you something. A late birthday present and souvenir." There was no hurry to her speech, each word being carefully considered before she spoke. "But first, tell me. How is Hogwarts? As fantastic as they say? Have you spent much time with the Krums?" Louisa had never been extremely close to any of the Krum children growing up. She was 5 years older then Nikolai, the oldest, and the age gap only increased from there. She knew them all, of course. Quite well. But she hadn't spent nearly as much time with them as Daniel had.

The way she said his name always instantly made him feel more relaxed. He loved the way she talked. Heck, he wished everyone would talk like that. He had always felt the most at ease around his sister, hence why they were so close. She answered him, speaking of how Asia was wonderful but she missed home. The mention of the late birthday present had him shaking his head a little with a soft smile. But first, he was to report on Hogwarts. He leaned on the table and smiled, "it's been great, really. I mean, everyone there is just so... emotional, but that's like Durmstrang too so it's not that different. The Krums are doing really well," he paused, chuckling softly, "I think Irina is pretty darn set on becoming the Champion for Hogwarts. She looks at that cup like it's her next meal," he laughed then. "Rip and Tania are good too, as far as I can tell. They're busy with classes, and Tan's anxiety get's bad sometimes but the nurses there are really attentive." He was grateful that Lou understood what was important to him well enough to ask him about the Krums, even though she didn't know them quite as well as he did. They were like his second family, not that his family wasn't good enough, but he loved them almost as much as Lou knew that. It was hard to beat blood, though, especially when your blood was Louisa.

The moment Daniel said the word 'emotional' Louisa smiled and gently patted him on the arm. She'd seen how difficult it could be when he was surrounded by strong emotions. School in particular had caused quite a few problems, because he couldn't retreat when he got overwhelmed. "I hope it isn't too bad right now?" she asked softly, concern in her voice. Most of the Krum family didn't know about his ability. He'd just never told them for some reason, and she'd respect his decision on that. But if they knew... It might make it a little easier for him. Because they'd be aware of what emotions they are giving off.
Her smile remained there, soft and calm as always, but it faultered a moment when he said Tania and anxiety. "Anxiety? When did that start?" She'd been on tour in Asia all summer, and hadn't been able to spend anytime with them like Daniel.

Dan breathed a sigh of relief when Louisa patted him on the arm. Until incredibly recently, she was the only person he allowed to touch him and he often found himself craving that touch. Her words of concern caused him to smile and lean toward her a little more, "it's okay. Most of the emotions are excitement about the tournament, so it could be worse," he explained.
Then she asked about Tan's anxiety and Dan frowned, "I'm not entirely sure when exactly... but it got bad this summer and has just gotten worse at school," he shook his head, "I had a little run in with her during one of her attacks and... that wasn't pretty, but we came out of it okay. Just had to get her to the hospital wing," he took in a deep breath and released it slowly, reminding himself to not bring those emotions back right now.
"I actually told someone about me, Lou," he started slowly, "Nik's known for years, but he's not around and so... I kind of told Irina," he felt relieved at least getting that off his chest. He breathed deeply again, smiling softly, "that's been nice."

Louisa took a moment to carefully examine his face, her eyes slowly moving to take in each feature. It might look like she was just staring at him, but she was looking over his expression, trying to catch the slightest hint that what he said, about it being okay, was false. She was a protective older sister, especially when it came to Dan's emotions. But who wouldn't be protective? He felt everything around him. She'd seen his emotional break downs, unable to handle the overwhelming emotions, before. She'd seen how crippling his ability could be at times. She didn't want him to get hurt. Only after those few moments of careful examination was she satisfied and nodded. "And, how is Adrian? He is a sixth year this year, I believe? You aren't tormenting him too badly, are you?" Those two... had never gotten along. They antagonized each other like none other.
Poor Tatiana. "It must have to do with the events of last year." Louisa murmured thoughtfully. It was her best guess. The murders, the attack on the school. Tatiana had been only 14, turning 15 when all of that was going on. A very vulnerable age. She wouldn't be surprised. "Do you know if she is seeing anyone about it?" If not... Well, Louisa could always speak with Tatiana's parents. She respected, and loved, both of them dearly, and would imagine that they'd like to know about their youngest daughter's state, especially if she was having a hard time.
Louisa blinked, the smallest 'blip' of surprise washing over her serene emotions, before disappearing. It was almost like a ripple in the water, small, but quickly disappearing and returning to that calm state. "How did she take it?" The surprise, while there for a moment, hadn't lasted long enough to register in her voice.

Dan understood the way Louisa worked, so it didn't bother him that she was analyzing him. Then she asked about Adrian and he chuckled, giving her a look of faux innocence. "What? Me? Torment Adrian? Well, I'll be damned," he chuckled, "you know me too well. I've been... decent enough." He glanced around the room, just making sure Adrian hadn't slipped in without him noticing. "He's got a rather intense crush on this girl. Lily Potter," he smirked, "come on, I can't leave him alone with someone like that going on!"
He nodded as she mentioned how last year may have affected Tania. "Yeah, it must. A lot of people were affected by that. Me included," because he was so worried about the girls and Nik. Dan shook his head, "I'm not sure, actually. I hope she is... she's a smart girl. I'm sure she wouldn't try to handle this on her own." Granted, he'd tried to handle his ability without any professional help... so maybe he wasn't that smart.
There was a small moment of surprise coming from her and Dan leaned back just slightly. Just in case he needed to make a break for it. But the emotion was short and sweet, which was a relief. "She was really supportive," he answered, leaning back to how he originally sat. "She... well, it's kind of a long story," he sighed. Well, guess he was going to tell her now. "I kinda... kissed her?" he said slowly.

Louisa smiled. Knew him too well. Without a doubt. "That and you two can never be in the same room for long without fighting." To be fair, the fighting was usually on Adrian's part. Daniel riled him up, and he retaliated. She'd lost count of the number of times growing up that her parents had told her to go stop them. As he continued she raised an eyebrow ever so slightly. That was the most he'd get out of her for a reaction i that regard, and it was't much of one. "Potter? As in Harry Potter?" She asked. Even in Germany they knew about the Wizarding Wars, and could at least name the biggest parties involved. Harry Potter for instance. "Just don't pester him to much, okay?" She added at last, giving her brother a look that almost told him to behave himself. Even though deep down she knew he wouldn't listen. IT was worth a shot though, right?
"Hm...." Was all of Louisa's reaction as he explained about how last years events had effected everyone, even him. To be honest, they were one of the reasons she was here. With the tournament, she wanted to be close to her brother, especially with the events of last year. She knew Daniel could take care of himself, but.... Well, she was a protective big sister. She wanted her brother to be safe, and she worried about him sometimes. The job opportunity to perform in London had just been perfect timing. "I'll speak with Viktor and Elena when I see them." She didn't know when she'd see the Krum childrens' parents, but she'd bring it up, make sure they knew what was going on. "I need to stop by sometime anyway. Mutti sent me some recipes she wanted me to give to them."
He 'kind of' kissed her? Momentary surprise again, though it was much weaker then before, but surprise none the less. More like a small sprinkle. "Kind of?" She asked slowly, as if questioning how you 'kind of' kissed someone. The surprise hadn't been about him actually kissing Irina, evidently. It was how uncertain Daniel had been about his answer.
@daniel (Mutti - basically shortened version of 'Mutter', which is mother in German. It's basically the same as 'mom'.)

Dan chuckled as she mentioned his and Adrians fighting. "It's not my fault he's so sensitive," alas, Dan was just as sensitive, but he didn't need to say that. Then she asked about Potter, and Dan nodded. "Yeah, guess she's his daughter. Weird, right?" he shrugged, "and don't worry, I'll... be easy on him," but he was smiling mischievously.
Dan never expected much reaction out of Louisa, which was fine with him. He felt tiny hints of emotion, but not enough to worry him. He nodded when she said she'd speak with Viktor and Elena. "I'm sure they'd love to see you, Lou. You've been so busy," he said. "Awe, yeah. How is she?" he asked, in reference to their mother.
There was that hint of surprise, which caused Dan to smile. She called him out on his 'kind of' and he nodded, "no... I did kiss her. Not kind of. I did," he admitted slowly. "I think I'll do it again, too."

Louisa smiled a little, and shook her head. It almost looked as if she might laugh, but to be honest? The young woman rarely laughed. Not verbally at least. It was more in her eyes, and the way they crinkled, like right now. A silent amusement and laughter. It wasn't because she never found something funny, but simply she was to relaxed to ever truly laugh. Daniel couldn't be fooled by her silence though, his empathy would let him in on that hint of amusement. "You will go easy on him, or easier?" She questioned. There was a big difference between the two. Did she believe Daniel would go easy on their young cousin? No. Easier? Much more likely, until he saw an opportunity to good to pass up.
Busy? Her? Well, she could deny that... She hadn't seen the Krum parents since before the Asia tour. It... had to be a year, at least. But to be fair, even her own family didn't see much of her when she was touring either. It was long hours, and constant travel. Being able to stay in London for now, and see her brother was an amazing blessing. Even with her busy schedule she'd get to see Daniel more in the next few months then she had in the last year. "I'm sorry I haven't been around that much lately, but this current contract will let me stay in London until at least February." She explained. The contract would be up in February, and they'd look at renewing it at that time. "She's good, I think she's sad you are staying here for Christmas, but she'll be fine." Their parents used to neither of their children being home, especially Louisa since she was always traveling for work. But this would be the longest their parents would go without seeing Daniel.
Louisa smiled again, and there was that laughter in her eyes. It was so strange, thinking her brother was so mature now. That he had kissed Irina, and that he was considering kissing her again. Despite his steps into adulthood, he'd always be her baby brother though. "Do you like Irina?" Oh, their mother would be so pleased to hear Daniel liked a girl, especially someone like Irina.

Louisa was amused, which was a fairly simple and common emotion for her. He felt and saw that equivalent of a laugh and he smiled. "Easier, I guess," of course he'd never fully leave Adrian alone. It was one of his favorite things, picking on the kid. They weren't that far apart in age but Dan always felt like Adrian was so much younger and therefore so much easier to mess with. Plus, Adrian just reacted to well.
Lou apologized for not being around much and mentioned that her current contract had her staying in London for a while. Daniel beamed and reached over to place a hand on hers, "I'd love to have you close by. I might stick around here... depending what team I get on after graduation."
At the answer about their mutti, Dan looked down for a second, "yeah... There are some things here I want to look into over the break," that was a weird way of explaining himself...
At the mention of him probably kissing Irina again, Louisa smiled, amused once more. "Do you like Irina?" He was expecting it but it still made him tense a little. Like, what a complicated word. What an... emotional word. He breathed in through his nose and nodded slowly as he exhaled. "I do. I think. I think I do."

There it was, his admittance that he wouldn't stop pestering Adrian entirely. "I thought so." She answered, as if content that her brother had finally admitted it. As long as it didn't cause too much emotional strain on Dan, she stayed out of the boys' feud. They'd sort it out eventually. Hopefully.
"Look into some things?" Louisa questioned with a coy smile, as if wondering just what 'things' he could possibly be thinking of. Obviously she didn't think her brother was staying to experience a Scottish/British Christmas.
Daniel was so indecisive with his words, especially when they involved Irina. Kind of. Think. Each one was almost like adding a question mark at the end of his sentences, as if he wasn't sure himself. But, to be fair, while he could read emotions they were not the easiest thing for him to understand. He had to feel other people's emotions on top of his own, which would confuse any teenager. "Does she like you?" She finally asked. He'd know the answer to that, of course. If he kissed her, the girl wouldn't have been able to hide her feelings for him. "Are you planning on pursuing anything?" You'd think as an older sister she would would sound more concerned by the idea of her baby brother dating. But her whispery tone of voice didn't change, nor did her overall calmly happy emotion. For her, that was basically her 'no reaction'. She'd just taken the idea of her brother having a love life without even batting an eye except for that initial surprise at first.

She knew him well, and especially his and Adrians relationship. Then, of course, she called him out on his vagueness over the Christmas break issue. He sighed, smiling in spite of that because of her own smile. "I guess I just want to see what all this going on with Irina will be, I guess. I guess," he realized he had said those two words about a hundred times now and he cleared his throat, embarrassed. "I just want to be available. I mean, there is a ball and all that. I've never really danced with anyone other than you, though so... I'm not sure how I feel about that part," he admitted. but he liked Irina and would... maybe ask her? Probably.
Louisa asked if Irina liked him and Dan paused, then Louisa asked if he was planning on pursuing anything. "I... she does, yeah. I think. She said she did. So, I hope she's not... kidding? And... I don't know. Maybe I am... planning on it- ugh," he groaned, letting his elbows fall onto the table as he ran both sets of fingers through his curly hair. He looked down at the table for a moment before looking back up at Louisa, "I'm just a little scared, is all," he admitted softly.

Ah, finally Daniel was beginning to make some sense. Of course there were several new things going on in his life, especially this season. She was happy for him though, as he tried all these new things, but it made her worry just a little. She didn't want him to be overwhelmed by anything. "I hope you two are taking it slow. I don't want to see you get hurt, even unintentionally. Emotions can be.... heightened by a romantic relationship." She explained softly. Louisa wasn't sure how much... exposure he'd had to romantic feelings to be honest. Her parents, from her understanding, had always been very careful about it. And Louisa had never brought any boyfriends home... But that might be due to not having any time for dating. She could only hope that he'd be able to handle it when the emotions arouse. At the mention of the ball and dancing, Louisa smiled and shrugged. "You're a wonderful dancer. It isn't something to be nervous or worried about." Though, he'd never been a fan of that many people touching him before..... He'd never had a problem with family but she'd never paid close enough attention to see how he reacted to the Krums...
And then he was speaking nonsense again. Really, this whole situation had Daniel twisted up into such a confusing mess! Louisa couldn't help but find it at least a little funny! She let out a short, but audible, breath as she smiled widely and her eyes crinkled with the silent laughter. For her, that was almost like hysterical laughter. Not because her brother was scared, as he admitted, but because she'd never thought a girl would ever confound him so much. Most of the time he was on the more apathetic side (much like herself), as if nothing got to him. And yet he was acting like a normal, confused teenage boy facing his first serious crush and having no idea how to handle it. It was... well nice to see him fret about something so normal. She placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay to be scared. But don't let that fear stop you."
