Albus was without a doubt the only person that could truly calm Dusti's raging temper. Rusti was close, but there were times when even she couldn't tame the burning anger. Albus though? He'd been one of her closest friends for so long, and he understood her on a level that couldn't even be human. He just.... He got her, in ways Rusti couldn't. And in a way she was sure she'd been in love with her friend for years, just never wanted to admit it until he got hurt. Until she was faced with the prospect of losing him.
The closet was roomier then it seemed. Sure, it wasn't the most comfortable place to be intimate, but it wasn't the absolute worst. At least they had their privacy. Dusti had slipped back into her clothes by this point, and most of Albus' were aside from his shirt. Dust was attempting to help him get said garment back on, but kept stopping to kiss him. At last though, it was on, and they were ready to leave the small closet. Before they did though, Dusti pulled him back to her and delicately kissed him once more. She pulled back just enough to meet his green eyes, her hands running through his unruly hair. "Hey... I love you, okay?" She whispered. Her words made her heart race because that was the first time she'd ever told him that. He'd never said it either. But with everything that had been going on in her life since school started... As unsure about life and everything she was. She was sure about about that one thing. And she wanted him to know it.
Dusti offered a small smile, before letting go of him and opening the door so they could leave. She stopped dead, and that smile vanished. Because she found herself face to face with their Head of House.

@al , @dusti Feeling Myself by will.i.am cause Astoria is boss OOC: Granted permission for consequences by Sora and Shadow ! <3 Astoria's classes were not until later in the day. She had gotten everything graded that was to be passed back tonight, but she knew she had forgotten something in her own towers. Before she had stopped there, she had a quick conversation with Scorpius. Not about anything too crazy, but just a check up on him to see how he was doing and to see how everything was going with Rose. Astoria felt terrible keeping that from her husband, but Draco would find out in due time.
She had quickly gone to her rooms to get what she had forgotten, and as she turned to lock her room up, she heard what sounded like quiet whispering, and then giggling, and then a door closing shut. Loudly. Astoria turned swiftly, her robes billowing behind her as she walked down the corridor of the dungeons. Her Slytherin's tended to be fairly well behaved, especially with her around so often. But there were some here and there that didn't care, and that is who Astoria looked out for.
Her eyes were narrowed as she walked quietly, and slowly. Tori paused at each door she passed, listening. After about two doors, the third one on the right was the winner. As she put her ear to the door, Astoria didn't stay long. Her eyes widened and she backed up slightly, embarrassment rushing through her. Thankfully, she recovered quickly. Astoria was not one to embarrass students in any way, nor did she want to even see what was going on in this broom closet, so she waited. Patiently, with her arms crossed, eyes narrowed at the door. Finally, she heard some whispering, and the door clicked open.
Dusti Flint. And...oh Lord, Albus Potter.
Astoria watched as Dusti's smile vanished. She couldn't even look at Albus. "Ms. Flint. Mr. Potter." This was something, in her many years of working at Hogwarts, Astoria had never, shockingly, had to deal with. And for it to be her son's best friend, the boy she watched grow up in her own household, was incredibly disturbing. And it immediately brought in questions as to if Scorpius was...doing this as well. "I have absolutely no idea why you thought a dirty broom closet would be a substantial area to fornicate, but it will not be happening again." Astoria looked at Albus, as much as she didn't want to, her eyes very disappointed, but her facial expression stern. "Mr Potter, I will be having a meeting with your mother and father soon. Expect this to be brought up. And Ms. Flint," Astoria's eyes turned to her, "Detention Sunday night." Astoria shook her head, and with a flick of her hand, the door shut behind them tightly. "Albus, you are dismissed. Dusti, come with me."

@dusti & @jill "Hey... I love you, okay?" he blinked as the four letter word came out of her mouth. she loved him? that was a little out of the blue. if one could call months of dating and having found the weirdest places to get to know each other even better .. it wasn't all that .. how did he respond? he was pretty sure that he loved her too. he couldn't imagine spending time with anyone else the way that he did with dusti. it seemed they could spend days on end together and feel completely at ease with each other. he only smiled back at her and he reached to touch her cheek as they turned to the door. he knew she'd be okay with him not saying it back straight away though he wanted to let her know he appreciated and was touched she had felt she could tell him. he rested her hand on the small of her back as she opened the door and they were met with .. mrs malfoy. of all the people to be there when they came out. he stepped out of the room with dusti and kept his eyes on astoria's face, although he didn't think she wanted to look at him right now. "Ms. Flint. Mr. Potter. I have absolutely no idea why you thought a dirty broom closet would be a substantial area to fornicate, but it will not be happening again." well it wouldn't he happening again in that broom closet anyway .. but he knew better than to say it out loud. he respected scorps mother, he had spent the last few summers flitting between his own house and that of the malfoys and he had always felt welcomed there. "Mr Potter, I will be having a meeting with your mother and father soon. Expect this to be brought up. And Ms. Flint, Detention Sunday night. Albus, you are dismissed. Dusti, come with me." he glanced back at dusti and he moved to press a quick kiss to her cheek, thinking it wasn't smart to argue like he normally might with any other teacher. "i'll see you later, okay?" he said, giving her hand a quick squeeze as he moved to step away from them, waiting to see what direction astoria walked into.

Dusti's expression and entire demeanor had changed in the blink of an eye. She'd gone from being relaxed, happy, and content to... Well, cold. Icy. Hardened. Her eyes turned dark, and her entire expression went chillingly still. Her body had gone stiff, losing all trace of her previous emotions. It wasn't really that surprising, to be honest. Dusti in general didn't like most people and she tended to get harsh and cold around them. But adults? Especially adults around her parents age. They saw it the worse. There was a defiant glint in her eyes, behind the ice. Almost like an angry wild animal, riled up and pacing in it's cage. Basically Dusti never handled confrontations with adults well. She kept her mouth shut, her jaw locked, almost to the point where she was gritting her teeth. Yup, definitely a riled up, angry animal sort of look.
Albus was getting off with his parents being notified. Probably because he wasn't prone to challenge authority to the same degree she did. But his dismissal shocked her just a touch. Dusti didn't show it though, just narrowed her eyes as Professor Malfoy went out to give her detention as well as ask her to accompany her. Great. She wanted to fight back with her usual callous snarkiness, but the girl held it back. All because it was Scorpius' mother. She at least owed it to her friend to not be a total jerk. Squeezing Al's hand back, her gaze flickered to the corner of her eyes to give him a glance. Her expression didn't change all that much, but her eyes did soften just a touch as she managed to nod. As she stepped away from him, she stuffed her hands deep into her pockets, her body language now extremely defensive. "What?" She finally managed to say, her tone of voice matching that icy expression.

@dusti @al - To Read! <3 After she spoke she had turned to Albus, watching his reaction. He seemed quite stone faced, but Astoria was incredibly thankful for him leaving. It was like finding her son in this type of situation and Astoria might have fled had that been the case. This was the only thing Astoria ever worried about at Hogwarts, and she silently wondered if Draco would've done a better job. She watched as they said goodbye, her eyes narrowing slightly before going back to normal as Dusti turned around to face her.
What?
Her eyebrows immediately went up and she gave Dusti an agitated look. "What, is that unless you want to have a conversation in the middle of a regular hallway where anyone can hear, you may as well follow me into my office."

Oh, Dusti knew her comment had been the wrong word to use. Hell, it was the wrong tone of voice. She should have just kept her mouth shut, let Professor Malfoy chastise her for her behavior, and been on her way. But no, Dusti just had to lash out and make things worse. No wonder she was the one that had felt the brunt of her parents' wrath growing up. Out of all four children Dusti had always been the worst, despite her mother being convinced they were all rotten brats. Well, news flash woman, the apple never fell far from the tree.
Thankfully, she didn't protest as her head of house went on to explain, making it clear where they were going. Dusti did let out an aggravated huff though, her head jerking to the side so her gaze was far from the dark haired woman. Without another word Dusti followed Professor Malfoy to her office, never looking back at the woman the entire way. Only once they reached the office, and the door closed behind them did Dusti find the farthest corner from the Professor, put her back to the wall, and finally look back. Her gaze was still frigid, her pale eyes looking absolutely harsh from the expression. If looks could kill... or at least freeze, this one most certainly would. Still, Dusti was terrifying silent as she waited for the lecture she was convinced would come.

@dusti <3 Apparently what Astoria had said was enough for Dusti, as she followed her to her office with a small huff. Astoria smiled as she turned and began walking, the blonde girl following her. This girl was always troubled, ever since she was a young girl. For some reason, Dusti reminded Tori very so much of Draco when he was younger. Quiet but angry, disrespectful to many adults. This is why when Astoria finally entered her office and sat down, she gave Dusti a small smile and gestured to the seat in front of her, her voice calm.
"You can sit down, Ms. Flint. You haven't got to be so defensive." She was currently standing up against the wall, staring coldly at Astoria. Astoria felt that if the time came where she was able to get through to Draco Malfoy, Dusti Flint should not be as difficult. Astoria took a sip of her tea and glanced up once more. "So, Dusti, how are your classes going?" The broom closet had already been taken care of. Right now, Astoria wanted to dig, and wanted to get to know this girl more.

Dusti didn't move immediately, even after her Head of House motioned to the chair across from her and told her she didn't have to be defensive. What should she be, then? When she dropped her guard, she or her sister got hurt. It was at this point a survival instinct to always be defensive and mistrust everyone. After several silent moment, Dusti moved to sit down in the chair and intentionally pushing it back a extra few inches for good measure.
A flash of surprise replaced that cold look at the shift in the conversation, the older woman asking how classes were going. It lasted only a second though before a wary look replaced it, as if to silently ask why she'd want to know that. "They're fine." She answered reluctantly, having to force the words out. That deviant and demanding tone still very much present, but at least the actual words were civil. "Why?" Or... not. She just had to get in another defensive comment.

@dusti <3 Astoria watched as Dusti finally sat down in the chair but pushed it further away from Astoria. She kept her facial expression natural, not too happy or not too cautious. She didn't want to scare Dusti away but she also didn't want to anger her as much as she already was. "That's good, I hope you're teachers are keeping their pace and you are enjoying the classes as well as passing them." Astoria moved a few things around on her desk, making a small area in front of her that was clear of all graded assignments.
It seemed that Dusti had become very wary again after she had answered Astoria's question and she rose her eyebrows at the young girl. "Curiosity. As your Head of House it is my job to check up on you, all of you, every once in awhile and see how classes are going, and life as well." Her tone of voice changed when she mentioned life, hoping Dusti might catch on. "How are you otherwise? Are you excited for the Holiday? Going home to see your parents?"

Dusti's eyes slowly narrowed, adding to the look of mistrust already on her expression. It was almost as if she was waiting for a back handed comment, as if she couldn't accept such a simple answer. And yet, it didn't come. She waited, and waited, and nothing. Her eyes returned to their normal size, but she kept her body slightly turned away to make the message clear that she did not trust this woman whatsoever.
Her explanation of why she'd asked made sense, and Dusti finally seemed to relax ever so slightly. Of course, Head of House. She was basically in charge of Dusti, as much as Dusti hated to admit anyone was in charge of her. She'd been fighting authority figures her entire life, so the idea of being under someone was typically met with extreme hostility. The only reason why she wasn't hostile yet was because Professor Malfoy was the mother of her friend, Scorpius. Things would be much more heated if it'd been someone else.
And then... Of course. There was a flash of anger. Hot, vicious, and destructive, but it lasted only a moment. The anger flashed specifically when Professor Malfoy said that word. Parents. It wouldn't be hard to recognize what the expression meant. Extreme, and deep rooted hatred. It lasted only a few moments, but a few traces of the anger and hatred remained as that cold look returned. "I never go to their house for holidays." Dusti snapped. She refused to call her parents house her 'home'. That place had never been home to her.

@dusti <3 She saw the anger, it was there and then it was gone. Astoria knew that look, knew this facade, this act that Dusti felt the need to put up. And she felt for her, truly felt bad for her. Astoria sat forward more now, imagining if this was her daughter, her Lyra, at home with her father. If when Lyra grew up, feeling this defensive and hateful for her parents, Astoria wouldn't know what she'd do.
"Do you stay here?" Astoria would normally know this, but as she always went home on Holiday, and especially would this year since it was Lyra's first Christmas, she didn't really know which children stayed and which went home. She took a deep breath and gave another smile, knowing how tough this must be for Dusti. "You really don't need to be so guarded, Dusti. I'm here for you, as whatever you need me to be. A teacher, a Head, or even someone to just help you."

Dusti almost, almost, rolled her eyes at the Professor's question. "Where else would I go?" was her sarcastic comment, followed by a scowl as she looked away. The scowl wasn't for Professor Malfoy though, it was for herself. That she was acting like such a jerk. The woman had never done anything to cause such hostility from Dusti but it was just coming out. Naturally, without any thought.
Her gaze turned back to the woman when she spoke, saying Dusti didn't need to be so guarded. That she was here for Dusti, whatever it was she needed. As whoever Dusti needed her to be. Dusti's eyes narrowed. It was a nice sentiment, really. "I don't need anyone, to be anything to me. I've done just fine on my own until now, I don't need to start." She explained in the 'nicest' way possible, at least for her. At least that sarcastic tone was gone, and she actually sounded pretty serious. The only exception she could think of was Albus. Sure, her sister was an exception but Rusti had been around for her entire life. Albus was the most 'recent' one she'd let into her life and trusted. And it'd taken him years to do that.

@dusti <3 Astoria lowered her eyes slightly, but kept the small smile on her lips. "A family friend, Albus', I suppose. You could go anywhere that isn't here." Maybe Dusti hadn't thought of that, or this was her attitude and wall that was talking. Astoria hadn't meant to offend her, and she hoped that hadn't happened anymore than it already had. She knew the girl was usually like this, which is exactly why Astoria was trying to keep herself calm.
When Dusti spoke, Astoria felt a small pang in her chest. A child this young shouldn't be talking that way, she shouldn't know pain and loneliness. She should know love and what it's like to be cared for. Astoria knew Albus was showing her this and trying to be there for her, but she also felt that Dusti may not accept this love and care right away. "You shouldn't have to do fine on your own. You should need people, you should need love and care. There's nothing wrong with that, Dusti."

Dusti raised an eyebrow at the suggestion of going to a friend's for the holidays. She had few in the way of friends. Even fewer that she would trust to do such a thing. Albus was one of those few though. "Do you really think my parents would ever approve of me going to the Potters' home..?" she asked quietly. She didn't know how close Professor Malfoy was to her parents but no doubt she knew them. Her husband had, after all, been very close to Dusti's mother during school.
Dusti didn't look away as her Head of House answered her callous response. That she should need people, love, and care. That there wasn't anything wrong with it. "If i change my mind on that I'll let you know." she answered slowly, trying to be as nice about it as possible but still make herself clear. She didn't want to talk about it

@dusti <3 Astoria took in a deep breath as Dusti spoke quietly. As she thought of her parents, there were definitely some memories that she was not fond of. Astoria had gotten along with Dusti's parents, at least until school had ended. Now, they did not talk. They were a family that Astoria tended to stray from, and only owl if necessary. "Possibly not."
Though, her smile reappeared as Dusti said she would let her know if her mind changed. That was enough for Astoria. It told her that Dusti heard what she said, took it in, thought about it, and understood it. As long as she knew that her Head of House was here for her and would do whatever possible to make sure she was safe, tha is what made Astoria happy. "Thank you for that, Ms. Flint."
