Right when the girl lifted her wand, Lily gave a firm nod, just waiting now. What was taking her so long!? All right, all right, trying to make sure she did it correctly was kind of important, sure. Suddenly the girl was saying the spell and the blue light shot towards her. Lily leaned into it, happily allowing it to become one with her. She blinked at saviors question before opening her mouth to speak, "It... Did! It worked! Oh my gosh! Thank you!" Lily leaned toward the girl and grabbed her shoulders, kissed both of her cheeks, and then pulled away again. "I'm Lily! Lily Potter. Thank you so much for helping me! I owe you, big time. Anything you want you name it," she stood, feeling more invigorated by the second. Amazing what a little curse could do for your gratitude!

▲ Cordelia should have assumed that the girl was going to do something outrageous the minute she was fixed. She had already mimed out what had happened to her, as well as jumping around and grabbing onto Cordelia quite a few times. She had expected a grab or hug, but not being kissed on both of her cheeks. Her face burned bright red. It probably would have done that regardless, because just being thanked for something was enough to push her over the edge sometimes. “Of-of course…” That was all she could manage out for the time being, as the girl was finally able to introduce herself. Lily Potter. She had heard about her before! Very energetic Gryffindor. Well, they had hit the nail on the head with that one. “I-I’m C-Cordelia Smith… I liked h-h-helping. You d-don’t owe m-m-me anything.” She knew her face was still bright red and was having a hard time making eye contact with her new friend. Instead she decided to gather up the books that they had strewn across the corridor floor. They had to be brought back to the Charms classroom before Professor Zhu noticed they were missing. Lily had already stood up and looked like a new person, or more like a person that could finally talk. “D-do you know who c-cursed you? That was me-mean of them…” Cordelia couldn’t really understand why people jinxed each other. It seemed like a waste of time and was only done to hurt others. She definitely would never do that to another student. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lily giggled at the sight of the girls bright red cheeks. Typical. Cordelia introduced herself and Lily nodded excitedly, listening to every stammered word. Lily didn't even wonder about the stammer, it wasn't in her nature to really think about that stuff. "Cordelia Smith! Perfect! No, no, no," Lily was able to grab a book before Cordelia got to it off the floor. Lily shrugged at the next question. "Nah, not sure. I have a lot of enemies," Lily giggled and winked at Cordelia. "To the Charms classroom!" she linked her arm through Cordelias and began to pull her along, continuing to talk. "Nah, I don't really have enemies. I just react really... erh... dramatically so people think it's pretty funny. Probably my cousin Xavey, or my friend Adrian.... or someone who hates my brother Albus. Now, he's hot enemies!"

▲ Lily had managed to grab one of the books before Cordelia could get to it, all the while making it seem like she definitely owed her something now. That was the last thing she wanted out of all of this. She had only intended to help from the start. There was no ulterior motive to wanting to do that. Well, other than maybe wanting to try and fix a jinx she had never seen before. It had become an interesting proposition that was hard to ignore as the situation continued going on, especially after Lily had done her little skit. She had a lot of enemies? How could she look and sound so happy while saying that? Cordelia couldn’t imagine having a lot of people dislike her; actually, she was more than positive that there were some that genuinely didn’t like her because she couldn’t manage a sentence without tripping up on her own words or stuttering. She had come to accept it, so maybe Lily had done the same thing. Thinking through this, Lily linked her arm through Cordelia’s and started dragging her back towards the Charms classroom. She resisted slightly at first but quickly realized that it was useless to try that. Lily was not only stronger than her, but also intent on keeping their arms linked no matter what. Readjusting the books in her arms, Cordelia picked up her pace so she wasn’t getting pulled along. Listening to Lily talk as they walked, she let out a small laugh as the other girl said she reacts to things dramatically. That explained the whole dancing around movement thing earlier. She still wanted to know how someone this outgoing and happy could have enemies though. “Do people not like you b-because you’re a P-Potter?” Cordelia had an idea that it could be because of that. Her own father wasn’t exactly a fan of the Potters or Weasleys, but that was obviously pretty silly for her to do the same. Lily definitely seemed like a nice person, even if she was a little loud and out there. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Cordelia laughed. That wad good! She asked the question many do, if her enemies came from her being a Potter. Lily shrugged, "I don't think that's the main issue, but it's probably part of it... but nah, I can do things without my parents help," she winked again, "including making enemies. But no, it's because I'm loud and rambunctious and don't care what anyone thinks." She laughed loudly, tossing her head back for a moment to let it out. "I think they're just jealous. What about you, Cordelia? You don't seem like someone who would have any enemies," she smiled and leaned a little closer to the girl, as if she was looking at a cute puppy. "I mean there's no way. Look at that smile of yours!" she added.

▲ Even though Lily seemed fine with having enemies, the fact that they still existed and at the multitude to cast spells on her in the halls, like the jinx they had just fixed, was concerning. Obviously that could have been intended to hit someone else and happened upon her on accident, it definitely occurred every now and again, but the odds of it turning out to be like that over someone targeting her? Probably slim to none. Lily’s reasoning behind it made sense though. There weren’t a lot of people that could take loud and obnoxious people, not that Lily was obnoxious at all or anything, and it was easy to see how maybe she could get on nerves if she kept going and going. And going. Cordelia didn’t mind though. Lily’s personality was one of those ones that brought Cordelia out of her shell more than she realized. It was probably because people watching were more focused on the loud, crazy ones, over the quiet one trying to make herself smaller. She nodded in agreement to all of the things Lily had so far. It was starting to make a little more sense now. The Lily asked about her. Did she have enemies? Again, she wasn’t sure. Cordelia knew that some people didn’t like her in class because she could never do things the right way. Outside of class though, she tended to keep to either the art club or the Hufflepuff common room if she wasn’t out taking photographs. Her only interactions with other students apart from the aforementioned locations or class tended to transpire like with Lily; on complete accident or by someone interested in her camera. “I don’t think people like my stutter…” She managed out as Lily looked at her face closer, noting her smile. Cordelia tried to hold that smile in as Lily got even closer to her, trying to look away at the same time. She still hadn’t gotten used to the other girl hanging onto her arm yet. Cordie could try to lean away all she wanted, but Lily wouldn't even notice. She giggled and pulled back though, just out of instinct, "What!? It adds to the cute little helpless, big eyed kitty cat type thing you've got going. Granted, I know you're not helpless!" she exclaimed, tightening her grip on the girls arm for just one little squeeze before releasing her, "I think you're pretty damn smart and people outta know that, Cordelia," and she meant that, too!
They arrived at the charms classroom and slipped inside, finally Lily let Cordelia free in order to put the books away. Lily leaned back on one of the desks, "so, is Charms your specialty?" cordelia regan smith

▲ Finally Lily pulled away from her face. She didn’t mind having people hanging onto her per say, it was more that she wasn’t used to it happening, especially with someone that she had just met. The Gryffindor was quite clearly a kind, caring person though, and she was happy that she had spent the time to help Lily out when she needed it the most. On that same note though, Cordelia wasn’t sure what she had gotten herself into by helping Lily. Fun and games weren’t exactly her forte, whereas the other girl seemed to feed off of that. Calm, relaxing walks talking pictures or sitting down and reading was preferable to running around like a chicken with its head cut off. At the same time though, there was something exhilarating about being around people like Lily. The Krum sisters, at least the two in Hufflepuff with her, were very much the same way. Cordelia knew she would have fun if she was with them. But the comment about her eyes sent her for a loop. She had never been described as having…kitty cat eyes? She didn’t take the helpless comment to heart either, knowing that Lily hadn’t meant it that way. There were times where it definitely depicted her accurately, where she would close up and retreat back to her shell of comfort and safety. “I lo-lo-look like a c-cat?” Her face was probably bright red once again. There was no way she could control her embarrassment other than running away from situations, and she already knew Lily enough to put two and two together; there was no escaping from this one. The blushing increased as Lily said that she was smart. Maybe that was true. Cordelia really wasn’t sure though. She suffered a lot when it came to practical grades, especially when it came to doing things in front of others. Her exam grades could be a little better too. As they entered the Charms classroom, Lily let go of her arm. She was apparently going to give Cordelia a few minutes of freedom to put the books back. Cautiously glancing around the room to see if the professor was there, Cordelia jolted over towards the shelf where she had pulled them from, placing each one back in their original position. Hopefully. Biting her lip as she tilted her head to see if they were in the correct spots, Lily asked her if charms was her specialty. “Kind of…” she replied, turning back around to face her new friend. “My mum is a healer…so I guess I t-take after her…”MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lily giggled as the girl seemed confused and embarrassed by the fact that Lily had called her a cat. "I mean in the sense that you're just so adorable" Lily tried to explain, wrinkling her nose as she grinned at the girl. Lily was always glad to make someone feel special, especially if they deserved it. Plus, she couldn't resist drawing that blush out of this sweet little badger!
Then Cordelia said charms was 'kind of' her specialty and spoke about her mother. Lily grinned, "well, you can heal me any time, Cordelia." Yes, the way she said it did sound like it was supposed to be innuendo of some sort, even though it really wasn't. Sure, Lily was flirting, she was always flirting. She had two modes: 'cute and flirty' or 'I'm going to cut somebody'. Cordie got the good side of the coin today, even though she had witnessed the bad.

▲ Cordelia knew that her reddened face wasn’t going to disappear any time soon. Not after what Lily had been saying. She received compliments from people sometimes, but they were mostly focused on her art or photographs, not on her personally. Sure there were those few odd instances here and there. For the most part she didn’t know how to respond and just went on her way, forgetting about it within a few minutes; artistic praise on the other hand tended to stick with her for a long time. Every time she looked back at a piece someone complimented, she’d immediately remember. It was nice being noticed for creative work. If she gave it a shot, she could get used to this thing that Lily was doing. While she still didn’t understand how she looked like a cat (the concept of that equating to Lily calling her adorable went completely over her head), the warm fuzzy feeling that came from all of it was welcoming. All she could utter out was a tiny “thanks”, unsure if Lily had actually heard it or not. Regardless of her slight embarrassment, the books were back where they belonged, having helped out more than she could have ever hoped. Of course, the professor or the Hospital Wing would have been great alternate choices to curing Lily’s conundrum. Taking it into her own hands and helping out someone else though was what she ultimately wanted to do. This was just the first step in it. Not only did she help Lily, but she also managed to help herself: improved her skills, the ability to think on the fly, and she made a new friends that she probably would have been terrified to meet under any other circumstance. It had to do with Lily’s energy levels, but it was something she could get used to. Hufflepuffs were rather flexible after all, and she had done a pretty good job going with the flow up until this point. “Of course.” She responded, as Lily said she could heal her any time. “Though the Hospital Wing is probably better if you d-don’t want me to m-m-mess things up.”MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

This girl sure didn't take compliments and flirting well. As in, she didn't seem to know how to respond. That just made it all the more fun for Lily, though. She just adored the innocent ones. Cordelia mentioned how the hospital wing would be better if she didn't want things messed up and Lily scoffed, shaking her head, "I'm sure they're great but I don't want to be in there all the time. I mean, come on, where is the fun in doing things the conventional way?" Lily mused. She got up off the desk and crossed over to Cordelia, leaning against the wall closest to her. "Now, where were you headed before I so rudely interrupted? Or were you just waiting for me?" she was joking about that last bit, course. The Badger wouldn't have known she was coming and therefore wouldn't have been waiting for her. Still, she was enjoying herself.
Lily was glad that the girl had kept up rather fairly so far, at least for someone who had never been on board the Lily train before. She had been told it was rather hard to get used to at first. Heck, some people who had known her for years still weren't used to it. Maybe it was impossible to do so. Maybe people just learned to tolerate it and play along, but still thought she was entirely bonkers. She didn't care either way.

▲ Lily had a point. The Hospital Wing really wasn't necessary for the little things. Dragon pox? Hospital Wing. Arm almost torn off by a big animal? Hospital Wing. Incompetent professor remove all the bones in your arm? Hospital Wing. Those were things even she couldn't fix yet. Cuts, scrapes, and bruises were simple enough though. So if Lily approached her with one of those it'd be hard to turn her away. No one wanted to go all the way to the Hospital Wing just for minor injuries. "T-true...I do need to get b-better at them too..." She hated boasting that she was exceptionally skilled in an area, photography being the exception, but it was hard to deny that she was pretty decent at healing spells. Numerous people had already told her that, even her mother. Helping out Lily seemed to be the reassurance she needed to remind her that she was good at something other than stuttering or taking pictures. Unfortunately that was something her professors would never see first hand in class. The question that followed made Cordelia thing for a second. What had she been doing before Lily showed up? She couldn't really remember. Obviously class had happened before that, and Professor Zhu had called on her class. That left some mental scaring, and then what? "I think I was t-taking a nap by the statue." If one could even call it that. She was pretty sure all she had managed was to close her eyes before Lily came screaming down the hall way. That had been quite the fright, especially when she was trying to get some shut eye. She'd have to reconsider taking naps in the corridors, unless she wanted to be fixing jinxed students every single day. "B-before that I was in Charms. I like the class but P-P-Professor Zhu calls on me all the time..." She wasn't sure if that was because the professor knew of her capabilities, or that she just wanted to torture her. It was common knowledge that the professor didn't like Gryffindors, who's to say that didn't carry over to Cordelia too because she tried to avoid class participation all the time. That was definitely a characteristic of some Gryffindors she knew. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lily grinned, nodding once again, "exactly! Consider me you're own personal guinea pig," she said with a giggle. She didn't mind being a guinea pig if it was voluntary. If it was Xavier messing with his own personal brand of spells, well, Lily and him could get in quite the fight over that! She loved the kid, though, and often didn't mind helping him come up with schemes. He wasn't a bad guy, even if people sometimes thought that he was. Lily new him better than most and she wasn't afraid to stand up for him, even if that meant making a few small enemies.
Cordelia answered her question then, mentioning that she was taking a nap by the statue. Which was very odd! Lily's head tilted so hard to the side she almost looked like Nearly Headless Nick. Then Cord went on to mention that she was in Charms and Lily giggled. "Oh, charms, yes. Well, Zhu just loves her Hufflepuffs," Lily noted. In fact, she hadn't even noticed the favoritism until another friend pointed it out. Not that Lily really cared. "Plus, you're probably the star of charms. I mean, I've seen you do your charms before! Clearly," she winked, giggled, and put her head back in an upright position. "Well, I guess I should get back onto my own antics. Don't even remember where I was going!" she laughed loudly.

▲ Personal guinea pig was kind of a strange way to put it. It wasn’t like Cordelia would purposely go out of her way to test things on Lily, more that she would help out if the Gryffindor needed it. Kind of like today. She was pretty sure Lily had other ideas of what that meant, since it seemed like it was something she did often with other students. Caught in her own thoughts, she barely noticed that Lily had tipped her head completely to one side. Looking up, Cordelia tried not to giggle too much at the sight before her. It was hard not to think that Lily was weird. She had a ton of energy and looked like she could keep going on forever. That kind of endless energy and ability to interact with anyone and everyone was something Cordelia had always wanted, but was afraid to go after. She didn’t have the personality, the one that Lily had, that would make it easy for her to accomplish. Then again, life wasn’t meant to be easy at all was it? “She d-does?” Cordelia tried not to sound too shocked, but it was strange to hear that from someone else. Like she had thought earlier, Zhu wasn’t too fond of Gryffindors, but the fact that she favored Hufflepuffs was news to her. It definitely didn’t seem that way to her, especially the way she always targeted Cordelia in class. She hated that. Staring at the floor again as Lily complimented her abilities with charms, she was sure she muttered something, but wasn’t even sure what she had said herself. Probably some kind of thanks, or along those lines. Compliments on her photographs was one thing, but her magic too? She had never really thought she was that good at anything other than healing spells. Apparently everyone seemed to think otherwise. Head bolting back up to look at Lily as she said she had to get back to what she was doing, Cordelia realized that a lot of time had passed since they first ran into each other. She was about to apologize for taking so long in figuring out what had been wrong with Lily, but stopped herself. If Lily had wanted to leave, she probably would have. Clearly she stuck around because she liked talking to Cordelia. There was no reason for her to go and ruin that now. “I th-think you were running down the halls screaming…” She smiled a little bit. “It was nice m-meeting you Lily.”[we can end this with your next post :3 no need for me to go again i think] MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lily had to stop herself from rolling her eyes when Cordelia seemed surprised about the Hufflepuff comment., "Yes, she does. You'll notice it more now, I bet," she said confidently. Lily didn't mind the Professor, of course, but Lily didn't pay attention to most professors, why would this one be any different?
Lily chuckled as Cordelia reminded her that she was running down the halls screaming. "I was going somewhere before[/.i] that Miss Cordelia," she giggled, reaching a hand over to ruffle the girls curly hair. "Nice meeting you too. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around. In fact, I look forward to it," she gave the badger one more wink before skipping off on her own, having no idea where she was headed before the stupid spell hit her... well, the quidditch pitch was a nice enough place to go!
