Well, it looked like this particular battle wasn't over. And it had turned into just that, a battle. That much between them was a normal thing, but the content had changed. Still, no matter what the content was, Rai was never going to let Grey have the last word. She never did and she wasn't about to start now. If this turned into a heated fight or duel of some sort so be it. At least that would be more familiar ground.
He caught up to her and she turned to look at him, eyebrow raised in preparation for that comeback. The wink was a nice touch, and it made her laugh. "You know, I haven't used the skill enough, I think. Maybe I should practice," she turned the corner and arrived at step one of her operation, just outside the room of requirement. "And don't worry. Finn is in the clear. He's not a young boy anymore like you are. I think you're in more danger than he is," she smirked at him before turning toward the wall. She closed her eyes, thought of what she wanted, and the door appeared.
She twisted the doorknob and pushed it open, beckoning for Grey to follow behind. The room didn't disappoint. The back wall was completely clear, showing them the sky outside. It wasn't glass, though. Rai asked for something breathable. Something to let the air in. She turned to Grey and held out a hand, "come on."

The Monsters walk among us An enormous grin grew on his face as Rai laughed at his comment about roping in boys. He had absolutely no backing to that at all, although there was that one kid during her fourth year. He vaguely remembered the face, but had no idea what his name was. No matter, that was in the past anyways. Grey didn’t take her as the type to really care about dating people. That seemed like it would hold her back from what she really wanted to do. That was made pretty clear by her entering the auror program. He wasn’t sure what the specifics were on people that were married and aurors, but it had to be pretty few. It was a dangerous job, not something that a person that wanted a family would go through with. “Practice? I think you have it under control.” He muttered as they stopped at a wall. The first thing that flashed into his head was that she was going to push him up against it again. Grey took a half a step backwards, so he could run if he needed to. “I’m just a wee lad, love. You would never think about hurting little old me.” That was always up for debate though. Suddenly a door appeared on the wall, and things started to make sense a little. He had heard about this place, the room of requirement. In all his years of wandering the halls though, it had seemingly escaped him, even though he knew exactly where to find it. Apparently he wasn’t worthy of it but Rai was. “How’d you do that?” He quickly said as he stared into the room. Hopefully the surprise didn’t show in his voice. As far as he could tell, the room turned into the sky and it seemed to be separated from the rest of the school. That was a pretty good secret after all. Rai held out her hand to him, and he stopped and stared at it for a second. No way was he stepping closer to the window thing. Rai had practically confirmed that she’d throw him off the castle, and that thing, whether it was a window or not, was not that inviting. “Listen,” He said, taking another couple of steps back from the window. “I think I’d take the snogging any day over getting tossed off that.”@railynn 395 Kirisute Gomen by Trivium

Rai didn't catch Greys mutter about her 'having it under control'. She heard him say something but didn't ask what it was. She noticed him take that slight step backwards when she stopped by the wall. "We'll see about that," she replied when he mentioned that she'd never think about hurting him. He knew better. At least, in playful hurting. She wouldn't ever actually hurt him. Though, she wasn't sure if he meant physically or in the context of the whole 'hooking a young mans heart' thing.
He asked how she opened the room and she chuckled, giving him a small shrug. "I guess I just have a real need to toss you out a window," she muttered. In all honesty, the room opened for her more often then not, as if it knew something she didn't. He didn't take her hand but instead took a few steps back and claimed he'd rather take the snogging then getting tossed out the strange window. She laughed, shaking her head, "Grey, I was kidding. I'm not going to toss you out there," she said firmly. She took one step toward him, her hand still outstretched. "I told you we were coming for some fresh air, right? So, trust me."

The Monsters walk among us He had never been afraid of heights before, but he had also never been in this room before. It was a little sketchy that something like that would conveniently appear right when they were talking about him getting thrown off the castle. Rai had obviously noticed his stutter step backwards, but she kept her hand out to him still. He wasn’t exactly sure what to do here, especially because he was starting to take her serious about the whole throwing him thing. Why would a room just appear like that? An awkward silence followed as he kept quiet after she said she had a real need to get rid of him. Another step backwards, solidified that he wasn’t going to step in there just yet. Looking back and forth between Rai and the open-looking wall at the end of the room, he bit down on the inside of his cheek, trying to decide what to do. Even if he hadn’t really wanted the snogging, it would still be preferable over going into that room. Finally Rai spoke up again. She was kidding? The way she had put that sounded rather serious, so maybe she was telling the truth. Normally he would have waltzed right in without her, but the joke had gone too far at this point. That’s right, they were there for fresh air, and this room conveniently gave that to them. He had been the one to make the joke about getting pushed off too, so maybe it couldn’t hurt. Reaching out, he hesitantly grabbed Rai’s hand since she had been so persistent about it. “Fine. You win. Let’s get this done with.” He took one last look around the hallways to make sure he remembered everything in his final moments, just in case Rai decided she was done with having him around. Rai did not understand why Grey was being so crazy about this. He took her hand, though, and she led him deeper into the room toward the wall in the back. Once they were fairly close she let go of his hand and reached both hands up toward the wall. "See? It is sort of solid," she flattened both of her hands against the strange surface and it bent slightly against her touch. She chuckled at first, then that chuckle turned into a laugh and she threw her head back for a moment. She turned toward Grey. "See? Fresh air," she took a step back and dropped her hands, gesturing to the wall. "I don't know how the Room of Requirement does this crazy stuff/ Magic is insane," she mused, turning back to the wall and raising an eyebrow at it almost as if in challenge. "I don't know if I could ever make something like this," maybe talking about something else would make him stop acting so weird and nervous.
She was tempted to try and find a way through the mesh, of course, but she knew in reality it was a firm wall and Hogwarts wouldn't let her jump from this room. Either way, it was still pretty amazing.

The Monsters walk among us Grey let Rai lead him to his fate. Walking further into the room, they finally reached the opposite wall, and she let go, putting both of her hands up against it to show him that everything was fine with it. Hesitantly following her movements, he did the same thing, letting the mesh-like wall resist his push as he realized she was right, it was kind of solid. Why was he being so obstinate about all of it? For whatever reason, something that looked like an open wall pushed him over the edge mentally. That would explain why he never took up Quidditch. He had always told himself that he wouldn’t have the time with the newspaper club and practice, but maybe it was all because he was afraid of heights. Living in a tower for the last seven years didn’t seem to do anything to him though, so it would have to be a question for a later date now that he knew he was safe in this room. Taking a few unconscious steps back anyways, he turned to face Rai as she talked about the strange things the room of requirement did. So that’s what this room was! Grey looked about in wonder, although there really wasn’t much to look at other than the wall and Rai, so returned his focus back to her. “You know, I don’t think I’ve ever managed to find myself in here before. I think I was looking too hard.” He had heard rumors that it didn’t let those actively looking for it in, so there was a good chance if he needed somewhere quiet and happened to walk by, it might have let him in. “I think you could. Just look at that jello thing you stuck me in. Not sure if it was your creation or not, but you’re using it to subdue people. That’s pretty ingenious.” He was staring out the wall again as he finished talking. The only cool thing he could recall ever doing was…well, he couldn’t really think of anything else right now. The night sky was way more captivating. “Beautiful, isn’t it?”((300th post! :3 )) @railynn 355 Exist by AvengedSevenfold

Rai chuckled, "I think you often look too hard... or not hard enough. Why can't you just find a happy medium?" she teased, turning to raise an eyebrow at him. She kept her eyes on him as he said she probably could make something like this and she smiled softly. "That sounds like a compliment," she chuckled, turning back toward the wall. "Thanks," she added softly. She nodded as he said it was beautiful, looking out at the sky. She felt a strange tug in her stomach, something that made her, too, take a step back. Was she afraid of falling? No, that wasn't it. Rai wasn't afraid of heights, not even a little bit. So what was that? She stood right beside him now, and stared at the sky in silence. After a moment, she folded her arms over her chest and spoke, "I guess I shouldn't keep you out past curfew." She didn't sound that committed to the idea, though. grey xavier slater

The Monsters walk among us Rai was probably right. He had been rather adamant about finding the room, and obviously it wasn’t a big fan of that happening. Grey had always chalked it up to it not finding him worthy enough to walk in; maybe he was fine the way he was and didn’t need a special place to practice, or be himself. He did a pretty good job with both of those on his own, content with who he was and what he had become. There were flaws here and there, but everyone had those. If the room didn’t for him because of that, well, he could live with that kind of decision. “It was.” He smirked, unsure if Rai saw it or not. “And you’re welcome.” Credit was due when cool things happened, especially when it came to spells. He had never attempted to make something his own, or a new spell in general, but he placed a higher value on those that could do that. They were integral for making the magical society what it was, and without them, there would be plenty more issues that everyone would have to deal with. A good equivalent would be muggles with their technology. Pretty much the same thing. Gazing out at the sky for a few more silent moments, Rai finally broke it, stating that she should probably get him back to the common room. “I do a pretty good job of that on my own. No one would believe me if I said you held me against my will in here.” He turned away from the strange mesh wall, placing his hand up against it one last time to get a good feeling of what it was like. If he had time to kill in the future, he’d try and get this room to open again. Even though he had been apprehensive about it at first, it had grown on him over the last few minutes. It was relaxing for some reason. “Well Miss Stughtattle,” he held his arm out to his side for her to grab it. “You better escort me back to the common room now. Before people actually start thinking we snuck off to snog or something.” He flashed a small grin at her as he finished his sentence. Rai noticed that smirk when he admitted he was giving her a compliment and her own smile grew, but her eyes found that wall again. He said you're welcome and she just gave a small nod. Overall, Rai thought she was a pretty good witch, so she was willing to accept the compliment.
After she broke the silence, she knew she couldn't stand there any longer. He mentioned how he did fine on his own being late and how no one would believe him about being held hostage. She laughed, turning back to the wall one last time as he did, "eh, I've held you captive before. They might believe it," she guessed with a smirk. Then, he turned back to her and held his arm out, using her last name and making one last joke about snogging. She turned to him, grinning and shaking her head. "Maybe next time," she teased, taking his arm so they could call it a night, heading back to the Gryffindor tower.
