Anna was waiting for Andy. No, they didn't really have a planned meeting with one another or anything, but Anna was hoping she wasn't busy. She just needed someone to talk to about ... well, about everything. The task was in a few days, so she was stressed about that and just wanted to talk. Add in the fact that Oscar just disappeared and Anna was really struggling. She hadn't told anyone about their kiss the other day, or the fact that he'd avoided her since then.
Besides that, she and Andy hadn't done anything in a while. Sure, they talked with Irina and Lily, but she wanted some time alone with her friend. The year was just way too busy for that so far, and a lot of that was Anna's fault. Which was something she intended on rectifying. So she was standing in the entrance hall, searching for Andy's face among the throng of people that were leaving the Great Hall after finishing their dinner. She waved when she saw her. "Hey Andy! Over here!" she called. Hopefully Andy would hear her.

Andy was thrilled about this walk with Anna. She needed this. She was sure Anna was struggling more than she was... well, in different ways, so she knew they needed something like this. Once Andy saw her in the entrance hall, she ran over, her smile wide. "Anna, hey!" She gave the other girl a hug, something that Andy was still getting used to but it got easier every time. She pulled back, "let's get some air," she said with a grin, reaching to link her arm through Anna's to lead her out the door.
"How is everything?" she asked, sure that was a loaded question.

Anna smiled when she saw Andy, who approached her right away and gave her a hug. Anna laughed a little when Andy linked their arms and started guiding her outside. At least they had the same idea: to get out of the school so they could talk. Anna still didn't know what she wanted to talk about. She was sure she should want to talk about the tournament, but there was Oscar to consider too. Andy met him a few days ago, when Anna told her, Irina and Lily that Oscar was going to take her to the Yule Ball, but she hadn't told anyone about her feelings for the guy.
She sighed, waiting to answer her friend's question until she was a little farther away from the school. "Don't say you told me so, alright," Anna started with a smile, trying to make light of the situation. "but this is really stressful. I'm nervous about the tournament, which I've been nervous about all along after what Lucy said, but then Oscar went away and now I'm worried about him. I know it's stupid, but what if he doesn't come back?" Anna turned to face her friend. "I think I'm more scared of that than the tournament," she confessed in a whisper. "I ... I like him." Anna couldn't believe she actually said the words out loud, but at the same time she could. She couldn't keep this inside herself anymore. She needed to tell someone and she trusted Andy completely with her secret.

Andy chuckled as Anna started to speak. Of course she wouldn't say 'I told yo so'. That wasn't Andy. She talked about Oscar and how she was worried the guy wouldn't come back. Andy cocked her head to the side, unsure about how relevant the guy was until Ana admitted she was more scared of that than of the tournament. Then she said she liked him and Andy straightened her neck, her eyes widening and her lip curling up into a smile. "he'll come back, Anna," she had to believe that. She had to believe that they always came back, didn't she? "I have the same fear every day, Anna, but he won't be gone for every long. I'm sure of it," she really had no idea where he had even gone, or even that he had gone at all, but she had to say what she felt.
"I'm glad, though. That you like him. THat's great. Liking is great," she almost said love, but she realized Anna hadn't said that so she'd seem like she was jumping to conclusions. She loved Phil, of course, but they'd been together almost a year. Well, sort of.

Anna looked away when Andy said that Oscar would come back. "I don't know if he will," she confessed, finally letting her fears out. "I haven't even told him how I feel and I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same. He's not champion, so what reason does he have to come back?" She looked down at her hands as she continued walking, surprised to see that they were shaking. Why was this affecting her so much? It wasn't like anything was really happening between her and Oscar. Other than that kiss ... the one before he started avoiding her and then left without saying a word. She looked up at Andy, "At least you know that Phil wants to come back, that he's planning on it." Anna wasn't trying to make it personal, but it was. Andy and Phil were in love and they both knew it. Anna knew she had feelings for Oscar, but she didn't know what they were and she didn't know if he felt anything for her in return.
She gave a small smile, "Liking is fun," Anna agreed. "I just was finally hoping that someone would start to like me back and now he's gone," She wasn't trying to be depressing, but at least she knew that with Andy she didn't have to hold back. Their friendship was good enough for that, though sharing her feelings with someone was a new experience for Anna.

Andy frowned as Anna went on about how she was still worried, not knowing if Oscar would come back. He may not feel that same? Now that was sad. "I'm sure he has reasons... maybe, maybe he does feel the same way. But he needs to clear his head? Give him time," Andy really didn't know how the guy felt, nor did she really think of looking into it. She cared for Anna, of course she did, but she wouldn't talk to Oscar. That wasn't in her nature.
Andy nodded as Anna answered about Phil, but Andy could tell her heart wasn't in it right now. She didn't mind that, though. She was focusing on her own crazy life, Champion and all.
At least Andy got a small smile out of her, but then Anna spoke about how he was gone again. Andy reached over, pressing a hand on Annas shoulder beside her as they walked. "At least you had the feeling for a while, eh? That's a bit of happiness," she said.

Andy was such a good friend. Really, Anna was so grateful that they got closer with one another last year. When Andy said that maybe Oscar needed some time to clear his head and sort through his feelings, Anna nodded slowly. Maybe Andy was right. She shot a small smile over at her friend. "Thanks Andy. I think I'll do that. Just give him time." It felt right when Anna said it. She wasn't really sure if there was anything else she should do, but this felt natural and right. Maybe Oscar did just need time.
Anna gave a small laugh, glad that Andy was helping her look at the positive. She grinned wryly at her friend, pausing in their walk for a minute so she could reach over and give Andy a big hug. "I knew I needed to talk to you. You know just the right thing to cheer me up." She thought about what Andy said as they resumed walking once more. "And yes, liking for a while is better than not feeling anything. I'm just going to pretend that I know he's coming back. After all, he did ask me to the Yule Ball. You think he'd come back for that, even if he's not going to stay for the tournament, right?" Anna turned to Andy hopefully. She wanted Andy to say that Oscar would come back even if it was just for that, but she also wanted Andy's honest opinion.

Andy nodded. She knew firsthand how good giving people time was, and taking time for yourself. She needed to take her own advice on that one, though. Anna was suddenly giving her a hug, though, and Andy accepted it. She was getting better at the hugging thing, but it had always been easy with Anna. Annas compliment made her blush, though, and she shook her head as her cheeks reddened. Anna went on to speak about how he asked her to the Yule Ball, which meant he was probably coming back. "I think they're actually required to stay for the tournament... but I don't know all the details. Still, I'm sure he'll be back. He doesn't seem cruel enough to let the champion walk out there on the dance floor by herself. He knows that you're required to have a date, so he wouldn't just make you look like a fool. Even if he doesn't... you know, return your feelings wholeheartedly, he still is your friend," Andy guessed.

Anna smiled when Andy gave her a hug back. She liked how close the two had become over the last year and was glad that she was there for Andy last year so they could become such good friends. It wasn't like Andy was telling her anything she hadn't thought of before, but it was nice to hear someone else say the same things she was thinking. "You're right," she agreed quickly. "I'm sure he'll be back, at least for the dance. And I hope he still wants to be my friend when he comes back," Anna didn't know what she really expected. She hoped Oscar would come back, but their friendship had ... stopped before he left. Somehow.
She pulled her thoughts away from Oscar and focused on the friend beside her. "So ... what do you want to talk about?" Anna asked with a shrug. Of course, her thoughts would probably go back to Oscar before long, but she didn't want her whole conversation with Andy to be about him. "How are your classes so far?" She asked with a wry grin. Asking about classes was about as classic as it got.

Andy wasn't used to being told she was right so much. She supposed her advice was good, so she just accepted it. "Of course he'll want to be your friend. Who wouldn't?" she said with a soft smile. Then, Anna was changing the subject, asking Andy what she wanted to talk about and how classes were. Andy shrugged, "they are fine, I suppose. Getting all my homework done and whatnot. Sometimes it's hard to actually retain information because I'm thinking about... other things," she said slowly, looking ahead as they walked, not looking over at Anna at the moment. "Just trying to decide what to be after all this," all this could have meant school, but Andy didn't mean that. She meant after all the crazy was over and done with. Her own crazy. But Anna didn't know all that.

Anna laughed when Andy assured her that Oscar wanted to be her friend. "I don't know," Anna said, laughing. "The people that aren't my friends don't want to be though," she teased, finally bringing herself into a happier mood. This was more like her. Anna wasn't one to dwell on the negative, most of the time. She was the one making jokes and laughing constantly. That's just who she was.
Anna nodded when Andy said it was hard to retain information. "I definitely understand that," she agreed. "I think I'm paying attention in class, but half the time I realize that I'm not paying attention at all! I'm thinking about the tournament and what's going to happen." Anna shivered slightly, but not because she was nervous. No, it was because it was chilly outside. Yeah, that was it. Anna listened to her friend and nodded. "Do you have any ideas of what you want to be?" She asked. Anna got the feeling that she was out of the loop somehow, that Andy was talking about something other than school, but she couldn't be. What else would she have to talk about? Anna shook her head and focused her attention on her friend. It was nice talking to Andy and had been way too long since the last time they talked. That was going to have to change.

Andy laughed. Anna and her always had a way of developing a healthy banter between the two of them. It was easy to talk with her, and it wasn't easy for Andy to talk with most people. So, it was a blessing to have her in her life. "Hah, yes. I'm sure the tournament is very distracting. I hope that we can help," she said with a slight bite of the corner of her lip. "If there are ever clues about the tasks we will help you research as much as possible," she promised. Anna already knew that, of course.
Andy nodded at Anna's next question, "a healer or an auror... but, I'm not sure which," she admitted. Following in Nat and Hannahs footsteps would be nice, following her family and all but... didn't she want to be on the front lines? Making a big difference in the moment? But now, now that seemed out of the question.

Anna couldn't help but smile when Andy laughed. It made her happy that she could still help lift Andy's mood sometimes. With Oscar gone, she felt like she could sort of understand Andy's emptiness without Phli. She didn't think she could fully understand it at all, since she hadn't known Oscar for years like Andy and Phil knew one another, but in a way there was a partial understanding there. At Andy's comment that she hoped she could help Anna's eyebrows rose as she thought of an idea. "I'll probably need some help catching up with school after the first task ..." she suggested hopefully, though she understood that no one liked homework, so Andy probably wouldn't want to do it twice. "But you know I'll definitely come to you if I need help with any clues."
Anna smiled, not entirely surprised when Andy said she was thinking about a healer. But an auror? She didn't expect that one. "I think I'm planning on being an auror too," she said with an easygoing smile and a shrug. She didn't want Andy to feel pressure to join her, but it would be neat to join together, if Andy eventually decided on being an auror.

Andy just nodded as Anna said that she'd need help with homework. That made sense, considering the tasks would take a lot of work. Then Anna said she was thinking of being an auror too and Andy nodded, "I think you'd be great at that. But, why do you want to?" she liked hearing other peoples reasons, especially current aurors. She wanted to know what drew them to it. The things that drew Andy were good, of course, but the cons may outweigh the pros depending on how it was looked at. She'd hear Anna's thoughts first.

Anna thought for a moment. How could she describe why she wanted to be an Auror? "Well, I want to make a difference. After last year, it's obvious that there are evil people in the world and I can't just ignore them and pretend like they aren't there. I'm a pretty capable witch and I want to help those who need it. One of the best ways to do that is by defending them and seeking out those who would hurt them. I don't know, does that make any sense?" Anna never really tried to explain her thoughts before, so she wasn't really sure if they made any sense. She just wanted to help people and with the way the world was going right now, being an Auror seemed like the best way to do that.
