The only issue with wanting to jump in a leaf pile was the fact that you had to rake the leaves. Thankfully, Lily was a witch, so magic was on her side! She gathered a large number of leaves on the edge of the forest, since that's where all the trees where shedding, and created a giant pile. She giggled with excitement as the six foot tall pile was standing there before, her, just awaiting someone to jump in. She had a plan for who that would be, of course. Herself and her best friend in the entire world, Adrian Greyback.
Once the pile was all ready she went to find him, running up to him as soon as she did. "Adrian! Come here, I have something for you," she said excitedly, reaching out to catch his hand, not really paying any attention at all to what he was doing at the moment. It didn't matter, not really, when Lily had something for him. She was pretty confident in being his number one priority and even if that wasn't true she didn't care. She demanded that it at least be a little bit accurate. So, she took him by the hand and began dragging him away.
@adrian (November 4th ish <3 & she dyed her hair for a few days xD)

Adrian felt like his head wasn't his own anymore. That always happened whenever he talked to Dan. His feelings weren't private whenever they talked, and Dan had a way of figuring out why he was feeling certain ways. The subject of their last talk? Lily. His best friend. The one person he cared about more then anyone else. The girl he'd literally follow to the ends of the earth. But love? That couldn't be. He didn't know what his feelings were, but they couldn't be love. Just couldn't. And then the threat. The one that kept running through his head over and over again.
Speak of the devil, she'd run up to him and grabbed him by the hand and was talking way to fast for her own good. He raised an eyebrow. "You're not going to hit me are you?" He asked warily as she started to drag him back the way she came. He raised his other hand to wave at his other friend he'd been talking to. They knew the drill. When Lily showed up she became his sole focus. "Okay, okay, I'm coming. What is it?" She asked as he willed his legs to move faster to keep pace with her and finally walk beside her.
That was when he noticed the hair.
What. the. hell?! Hadn't it been blonde yesterday?! "You dyed your hair again!" He blurted out, surprise in his voice. She'd looked good as a blonde. And she looked good now. Hell, she'd look good with any hair color probably. But still, he was going to get whiplash from all this change.

Adrian asked if she was going to hit him and she just laughed, not answering, of course. He knew she would or wouldn't if she damn well pleased, and that was a good enough answer in and of itself. He asked what it was, saying he was coming along and trying to keep up with her. Before she could answer, though, he noticed the hair and the loud, surprised question came out.
She kept dragging him, but she turned around to walk backwards in order to tug him along but look at him at the same time. "Why yes I did, darling. Why, you don't like it?" she asked with a pout. "It's just a few days. Relax. But feel free to stare all you want," she flipped her dark hair and spun around to stop facing him, arriving at the pile she had created.
She jumped up and down, releasing his hand finally to gesture to it, "a leaf pile, good sir, for jumping purposes," she exclaimed happily. This would be her second leaf jumping adventure this season!

Adrian didn't realize that he was staring until Lily pointed it out. Scowling, he looked away as she flipped her hair towards him and kept moving. "I wasn't staring." He muttered defensively. He wanted to say that he did like it. That she was always pretty, no matter what color her hair was, but he kept his mouth shut. No way w as he going to give her that sort of satisfaction.
She released his hand and he looked back, finally taking in what it was she was up to. Ah. An impressively large pile of leaves. Immediately he started to grin impishly. "Or throwing." He slowly stated as he looked down at her. She was acting like an excited chipmunk with the way she was jumping up and down and her voice several octaves higher. Without warning, he scooped Lily off her feet and over his shoulder before tossing her into the leaf pile.

Lily didn't acknolwedge Adrians mumble. Of course he was staring, everyone stared at her. It was just part of the package when it came to being so beautiful. Plus, she liked the attention, it was part of the reason why she dyed her hair so much these past few months. Still, she wished Adrian would at least stop being so stubborn and compliment her, but whatever. She knew that he thought she looked amazing, obviously. Or throwing, he said, and Lily's eyes widen for a second as she saw that grin on his face and looked up at him. "Oh n-" then she was being lifted up and she half yelped half laughed. She punched his back as he threw her over his shoulder before she was being flung into the pile of leaves. Lily screamed with laughing as she was tossed in. Then she rolled over to face him, a faux glare on her face. Her wand was in her hand and she pointed it at him, "Accio shirt," she said and his shirt move toward her, pulling him with it. "You can either come along or have it ripped off," she challenged. @adrian

Lily's protest was met by deaf ears, and a refusal to stop the act. He'd already tossed her into the pile without any hesitation whatsoever. Even her fist slamming into his back didn't deter him, but he scowled slightly, annoyed that she'd felt the need to hit him. He'd called it when he asked if she was going to hit him. But her scream and then laughter brought a grin to his lips and then his own laughter mirrored hers. Especially when she rolled over, leaves in her hair to glare at him. He doubled over, arms around his stomach as he laughed harder. Seriously, why hadn't she seen it coming? She'd presented the perfect opportunity!
His shirt was tugged forward, and Adrian swallowed his laughter, looking up just in time to see her wand out and pointed at him. Revenge already, huh? He grinned, shook his head, and leaped into the pile. He didn't need to be told twice. One of his arms snaked out to grab her around the waist and yank her towards him as he rolled, taking her with him. They rolled twice before Adrian stopped, Lily underneath him.
The moment his dark eyes met Lily's, he froze. And his mind reeled. He immediately looked away, but in the process... Spotted Dan. Watching them. "Who are you going to the ball with?" He blurted out without even realizing the words had come out until he looked back down at her.

Lily laughed loudly as Adrian dove into the leaf pile beside her. The laugh turned into a yelp when he caught her waist and rolled over her, twice. When they stopped, he was on top of her and the breath was momentarily knocked out her. He looked at her and her smile vanished, her heart stopping. He looked away, though, and she wanted to growl angrily at him, but that wasn't working either. It wasn't long before he spoke and then looked back at her.
"Uhh..." she shook her head and swallowed. "No one," she said softly. It wasn't often that Lily spoke that soft. In fact, she was pretty sure Adrian was one of the only people she ever talked like that with, and that was rare if ever.
Her green eyes were stuck on his and her hands were on his arms. Was he about to ask her to the ball? What did that mean? Well, of course they'd go togther. They were best friends, it didn't make sense for her to go with anyone else, did it? Why hadn't he asked sooner? Eh, he probably just assumed that she wasn't taken... which she knew she should be a little offended by, but she wasn't. She kind of assumed they'd be going together anyway...

No one.
Adrian's heart leaped into his throat and he felt like he was going to choke on it. Actually, he was pretty he did for that first second of realizing what she'd said but also what that meant he had to do now. He'd already basically half asked her, and he had to follow through. Despite that immense fear bubbling in his chest. Wait... Fear? Why was he afraid? This was his best friend after all! He shouldn't be afraid! It should be totally and completely normal asking her! It'd didn't mean anything. A lot of people were going to the ball with their friends.
Adrian sat up suddenly, rolling off of her and sat down in the leaves next to her. His gaze diverted, again... finding his brother on the other side of the grounds. Adrian scowled. It was almost like Dan was waiting to swoop and ask her if Adrian didn't pluck up the courage and ask her himself. "We can go together. If you want." He muttered, his gaze finally moving away from his cousin and back to Lily.

Lily wasn't sure what was going on his Adrians head or throat but he sounded like he was exploding for a second there. She waited, though, not wanting to interrupt his thought process. Normally she didn't mind but this was... interesting. She had a feeling she knew what he was going to say, though, and her heart started to pound loudly in her ears. She raised an eyebrow slowly. Not as though she was challenging him, which she usually was, but just expectantly.
And then he was sitting up, rolling away from her and sitting beside her. She pushed up on her elbow, turning to look at him, eyebrow still raised in place. He was scowling... why? She didn't take her eyes of him, though, so she didn't notice Dan watching. Then he spoke. Muttered, more like, and Lily felt her heart swell like a balloon in her chest. "Yes!" she said loudly before her eyes widened and she sat up, glad that he was looking back at her now, "I mean, obviously, Adrian. Come on," she rolled her eyes.

Adrian was glad Lily didn't try to speak up and get an answer out of him faster. He probably would half balked out of it if she had, his foolish courage disappearing. He didn't understand why he was so blasted nervous about asking her to the dance. She wasn't going with anyone, so he was pretty dang sure she'd say yes. That and they were friends, good, close friends. It was normal to go to stuff like dances together. Or so he though. For some reason it was escaping his attention that this was a formal ball, and not just a dance. And that this meant Lily would be going with him as his date. If he had realized that... Well, he probably would have chickened out. It'd probably come to him later that night and he could have a heart attack then.
He literally jumped at her ridiculously loud outburst in agreement. He hadn't been expecting her to answer so... well, flamboyantly. Then she corrected herself, and he smiled a touch. That was the answer he'd been expecting. "Okay, cool." Cool? That was the best answer he could come up with? Dear heavens, what was he getting himself into here..?

It took Lily a little longer to recover then she would have liked. Cool? That was all he had to say? Well, really she wasn't surprised. He was never like any of the other boys, who would probably pass out at the thought of taking Lily Potter to the ball. No, Adrian had always been different and he was her best friend, of course this wasn't a big deal.
Then why was her heart pounding so loudly in her ears? She thought she might go deaf. She cleared her throat and nodded, sat there for another moment of silence and then decided that it was time to get past this weirdness and act like normal.
She launched herself toward him, tackling him so that she was on top of him, her hands catching his wrists and pressing them into the pile of leaves. She sat up, her legs on either side of him, and tilted her head to the side, her dark hair falling over her shoulder. "Don't worry, my hair will be back to normal then," she promised, before leaning down and kissing him quickly on the cheek before jumping off of him, away from the pile. "Now get outta the way so I can jump in again!"
