"Sounds good!" Dastan agreed, grinning with relish at what was about to take place. If Daniel was at good with bludgers as he was with Chasing and Keeping then this was definitely going to be fun. And grueling, but Dastan was positive it would be worth it. He wasn't as good with bludgers, but he could hold his own pretty steadily, he thought. After a good shot, the bludger came hurtling toward Dastan, who spun out of the way and then knocked it back in Daniel's direction. "Nice hit," he said as they started the back and forth. Working with bludgers was a lot more exhausting that working with the quaffle because you never knew what they were going to do, but Dastan still felt like they were doing a pretty good job.

Dan, however, played beater many times and was quite used to it. When Dastan made the hit back to him, Dan grinned and nodded, "thanks, yours too!" he called. They flew around the pitch, fighting the bludgers off while sending them too each other. Dan felt invigorated and excited by it all, just glad to have someone to play the beautiful game with. After a while, he called over to Dastan, "should we try with two now?" he suggested.

Daniel was obviously better at this than Dastan originally thought. What, did he really want to go out as a beater? Dastan made a mental note to ask him that later. Right now, he was too focused on not getting pummeled by the bludger. When Daniel asked if he wanted to try it with the other one, Dastan nodded and flicked his wand, releasing the bludger from the case. Man, he was in for it now, but he wasn't about to admit defeat. Dastan was too competitive for his own good, but in this instance it wasn't a bad kind of competitive. More like, the kind of competitive that made him want to do better, while enjoying it at the same time.
It was definitely harder with two bludgers in the air. Dastan concentrated super hard on not getting hit, but also on trying to hit Daniel or the goal posts or other things he decided to aim at. Bludgers weren't easy to aim, but he felt as though he was doing a decent job. Not as good as the competition, but still quite good all the same. Even better, he was having fun doing so. It wasn't long before he was breathing hard and sweating more than he liked. "How're you doing?" he called to Daniel, forcing his voice to sound like it wasn't as tired as he felt. He had no intention of admitting how exhausted he was.

The second bludger came to join them via Dastans summons and Dan was ready for it. Still, as the time went on, he was getting tired. It was still fun, though, getting this practice in. After a while, though, Dastan spoke and Dan shrugged, "eh, fine, I think. My arms might fall off soon though," he admitted, whacking on bludger as it flew toward him. Then the other flew by, almost within a second and Dan had to duck. He gasped, "wooh! That was close! Ready to call it?" he asked, raising his bat, ready for the next attack. This time, though, if Dastan was done, Dan would catch the first bludger and expect Dastan to catch the other.

Dastan laughed when Daniel said that his arms were tired in a roundabout way. Honestly, he felt the same way. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been so exhausted, but it wasn't in a bad way, it was good. "Mine also," he agreed. A bludger came zooming at him and he hit it, turning to see Daniel dodge one quickly. He nodded, "Yes, lets," he shouted back, moving so he could catch the bludger that was closer to him, trusting Daneil to take care of the other. Bludgers were always difficult to lock back up, from his experience. Still, after a few minutes he was able to get his down and back into the box. He sat down on the ground next to it. "I have not worked that hard in a long time. Thank you." He meant it too. Lots of people from home would have seen that gratitude as a sarcastic remark just because it came from Dastan, but he really meant it.

He was glad Dastan was tired, too, otherwise Dan may have kept going out of sheer competition. The other agreed to stop, though, and they caught their bludgers after some work and got them back in the box. Dan looked over at Dastan as he thanked him and Dan nodded, "same here, man. I hope to play you again in the future," he said, sitting down as well before leaning back onto the snow and looking back up at the sky, "I guess we'll see what the future holds for us talented people, eh?" he said with a sigh of relief, glad to be relaxing.

Dastan nodded when Daniel said they should play one another again. "Maybe we could do it on purpose sometime?" he suggested in the form of a question. "When neither of us are busy or something. I do not want to lose accuracy because I am not at home where I could practice whenever I wanted." That was a good reason, wasn't it? Natural, even, to want to play because you didn't want to lose your skills by sitting around being lazy. Not that Dastan could ever be thought of as lazy, but still. "Only good things," he said with a smile as he thought about the future. "I am excited to see what happens at that ... scouting thing?" Were those the right words? Dastan wasn't quite sure, but it sounded right so he went with it.

Dan nodded, "that'd be great. I think we practice well together. And I agree. Not being able to practice as much at home games is killing me," he chuckled. "Same time next week, maybe? I think that we could just keep this up several times, if you're down for that," he offered.
Dastan said the future held only good things, and as much as Dan loved that idea he didn't believe it. He smiled, though. "Yes, that's right. Scouting. Basically the players will just try out stuff with us," he shrugged and then yawned, "guess we should call it a day?"

Dastan grinned when Daniel suggested they plan on another practice session together. "That sounds great to me. Get myself into a routine again. I'm game as long as you are." Of course, Dastan was completely expecting the other boy to agree. Given how much the both of them enjoyed the game and how good they both were at it. Didn't want to let their talent die completely since they were away from home. Dastan nodded, "That will be interesting. I'm excited to see how it goes." He thought about it for a moment, curious about the opportunity that would present. "Sure. I'm ready to go in and get some food now," he said, grabbing his broom and walking back toward the castle. "It's been a while since I've worked up such a strong appetite."---end--- @daniel
