@magdalena <3 --TAKES PLACE IN DECEMBER 2021---
Nikolai had just woken up...and late. He had class in only twenty minutes. It was one he hated, but who cared, right? He needed to pass to get out of school and to get into a good Quidditch Team. He threw on his Gryffindor robes over his jeans and sweater, and apparently had to skip breakfast otherwise he'd be really late, and he'd be excused from the class. As quickly as he could, Niko grabbed a coffee from the Great Hall and began running to his class.
Quickly and carefully, he began twisting and turning throughout the crowds of people, trying to get to his Charms class on time. There hadn't been a group of people just standing in the way yet, which he was grateful for. It was making it much easier for him to get there. He couldn't believe that he had woken up so late; he literally never did that, but here we are, only a couple weeks before break and he's already slacking.
Remember that group mentioned earlier? Yeah, well, this time it wasn't a group, just a single person, standing right in front of the closed doorway. Nikolai grumbled and glared at her. "Uh hello? Are you going in or not?"

Oh god, where was it?! Magdalena was almost to her first class of the day, Charms, when she realized that her homework, the essay she'd spent weeks working on wasn't in her bag. She tore her bag inside out, trying to find the parchment but to no avail. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she blew a stray strand of hair from her eyes and looked at her friends with a smile. "I'll catch up, I have to run back to the common room." "Be quick, Mags, or you'll be late!" One of them called after her as she turned and raced down the stairs back to the Hufflepuff Common Room. Thankfully, she found it on her trunk, exactly where she'd left it.
Soon, she was back up those stairs, stopping just outside the classroom door to check the contents of her bag again, double checking that she wasn't missing anything else. And thank goodness, she did. Out of no where though, someone spoke by her, asking if she was going in or not. Immediately, she looked up, her eyes wide as she looked for the source-
Nikolai Krum.
They were in the same year, different houses though. They hadn't really spoken though. From what she could tell, he stuck to himself or his friends and they seemed to have no friends in common. "Oh! Yeah, sorry." She closed her bag, smiled sheepishly at the boy, and opened the door to the classroom. Uh oh. Class had already started. The teacher had broken the class into pairs, and stopped speaking when he saw Magdalena walk in, and Nikolai just outside. "Ah, there you two are. You can be partners. Find an empty table." He ordered. Magi frowned. Ouch. Immediately she headed for the only remaining table and sat down, setting her bag on the table in front of her. First time speaking, and now partnered for class. She'd never had this much interaction with the oldest Krum.

@magdalena <3 The girl looked up at him and stuttered out a response, smiling at him. He scrunched his nose up and gestured to the door, his eyes widened at her as she finally opened up the classroom door. As soon as the Professor had spotted them, and Nikolai looked into the classroom, he knew exactly what was going to happen. His teeth clenched and he muttered to himself, following the girl to the empty table and sat next to her, making sure he didn't touch her or even get close to her. He set his bag on the table and took out his parchment and pen, dipping it into the ink on the table and dating the top of his paper.
He glared at the board, writing down all the notes that had already been put up and listened to the teacher at the same time. "Thanks for just standing in front of the door. Now I can't talk to my friends the whole class." Nikolai's tone was bitter and angry. He glared at her quickly, making sure to get a better look at her. Hufflepuff. Also, she was Magdalena Ollivander. Ah, how nice of their Professor, putting two famously named people together. It made him resent her even more for just standing there.

Magdalena could practically feel his anger and frustration at their sudden partnership. Hey, it wasn't her fault he was late! He was just as much to blame as her! But, unlike him, she wasn't completely dismayed by the predicament. Silently she unpacked her own bag, parchment, quill and ink. "You were late too, you know." She cheerfully and quietly retorted. "Besides, class is for learning, not socializing." Still, there was that cheerful tone in her whisper, as if she was thoroughly amused by the situation and unfazed by his hostility. She stopped her quick writing to turn and smile brightly at him.
Today's lesson was on non-verbal magic. They'd been learning the theory of it in previous lessons, but it seemed today they'd actually get a chance to try it. The teacher's lecture was short today, since today was mostly a practical lesson. He'd written the spells he wanted them to try on the board. Stunning spells, disarming, protection. Ah, no wonder they were paired off. The were going to practice casting at each other, and blocking. All without speaking.

@magdalena <3 If Nikolai wasn't smart, he would've cursed her right then and there! How dare she speak to him that way? "I wouldn't have been late had you not been dilly dallying in front of the door like a lunatic, Ollivander." The smile she then gave him disgusted him. Ugh, this girl definitely had a problem. "I do as I please. Piss off."
This lesson was going to be... Great. Great for the fact that he wouldn't have to speak to this girl much, and even better that he could cast spells at her. Nikolai read over the list a few times, trying to get it right and speaking the incantations in his head. He looked up at her, glaring still. "Ladies first, i suppose."

"Dilly dallying?" She repeated, her eyebrows raising in surprise. They rose even higher when he called her a lunatic though. "I'm not a lunatic!" She immediately protested, and thankfully managed to keep her voice at a whisper so as not to arouse any suspicion from their teacher. Goodness, why was he being such a prat? This was their first conversation ever, probably! "Are you always this hostile? Or just to complete strangers that got in your way?" He needed to calm down, and stop being so hostile. She hadn't done anything to deserve it. Unless he seemed to think just existing was enough of an offense.
Magdalena sighed, and retrieved her wand from her bag. Well at least the rest of the class talking should be at a minimum. Non verbal magic meant.... well, non verbal! As in keeping your both shut. Being the first practical lesson though, they'd probably still be plenty of conversing going around. "Your face is going to stick that way." She noted with that same cheerful tone as before and stood up, pushing her stool in under the table. Obviously, they would want to start out small. Simple spells that wouldn't cause damage if they were cast and a block wasn't able to be mustered. So, disarming. She raised her wand, pointing it at Nikolai a few paces away. With a determined look she sharply twirled her wand in the familiar flourish for the spell, mentally envisioned what she wanted and repeated the word firmly in her mind. Expelliarmus. Nothing happened. Well, no surprise there. No one was managing the spell casting on their first tries. Nonverbal magic was complicated. That was why they waited until sixth year to even start learning it.

@magdalena <3 Her reaction to his words was exactly what he had been hoping for. Shock and anger. Nikolai rose his own eyebrow and smirked at her. He huffed and shook his head. Hufflepuffs could be so easily messed with, just as she had proven. "You are a lunatic, darling. No need to get so upset over it." Nikolai deliberately ignored her next two questions. He didn't have time for her being offended, he just wanted to finish this class and get out. Being partnered with this lunatic was not helping his mood from waking up late. Nikolai took a big sip of his coffee and stood up with her, walking a few feet away before turning, his wand in hand.
"At least I'll still be handsome." Nikolai knew he was good looking, no doubt about it. And retaliating with her childish comments seemed to be the best route right now. She looked all happy and excited and determined, and he just kept that same smirk on his face, waiting for something to happen. Well, nothing did, and then disappointment shown on her face. Niko chuckled quietly and held up his own wand at her. The smirk disappeared quickly, and his eyes lowered slightly at her. Nikolai took a deep breath, concentrating on the word, the sound of it, and the movements of his wrists. He quickly did as you were supposed to, but just as with Magdalena, nothing happened. Nothing more than a small twitch of her wand. "Damn it."

Ugh, why did he have to be such an irritating jerk? What had she ever done to him? Nothing! This had to be their first conversation in... well forever! He had no right to act this way, he didn't even know her! Magdalena tried not to hate people, she realyl did. Her mother was always telling her to treat others the way she wanted to be treated, and to always be kind. But Nikolai Krum was definitely testing that patience.
Magdalena let out a frustrated breath as he so cockily responded. Like hell she'd admit he was handsome! Sure, he was. Extremely handsome. But she was so annoyed by this point that she wasn't going to permit herself to compliment him in any way. As he failed at the spell as well though, she started to smile smugly. Served him right! "Not so easy, is it?" She couldn't help the snarky retort.
Taking a deep breath, she tried something else. Okay, Disarming hadn't worked. But, she didn't want to disarm him. She wanted to stun this cocky jerky and teach him a lesson. Emotions helped right? So, she focused on that feeling. That overwhelming desire to teach him a lesson, and the spell that would do that. Stupefy. She concentrated, her wand pointed at him. She didn't do anything for a moment, just focusing on those emotions, focusing on what she wanted to do, and then finally repeated the spell loudly in her mind and sharply twisted her wand.
There were sparks. Not much, but definitely closer to an actual spell then either of them had managed thus far.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai rose an eyebrow at her, tilting his head back. This girl did not seem like a Hufflepuff...well, he supposed she did. Simple retorts and small arguments. While it was amusing for him, it also angered him. She was such a little prat, and thought she was oh so great. "I don't recall saying it was easy, now do you?" Nikolai's tone was demeaning and sassy, and he hoped he'd get his point across with her. He wasn't here to chit chat with her, he was here to get this class over with and move onto the next.
Magdalena tried another spell, one he wasn't sure of what it was, but still, nothing happened. His eyebrows rose at her, and the small spark that emitted from her wand. Well, she definitely was going to stun him, that made it very clear. Nikolai chose not to speak, but narrowed his eyes at the girl as he thought of which spell he'd try next. He was wracking his brain, but was sure the way he was looking at her was not very attractive. Once more, Niko pointed his wand at her, a small smirk appearing. Densaugeo. Nikolai's eyes went straight to Magdalena's mouth, and as soon as he saw her teeth growing and growing...he could not stop laughing.

@jill9 December 2021
He cursed her. He cursed her, and it worked! Magdalena had not been expecting that at all! Only a few students had managed a successful non verbal spell, but a curse?! Before she could react the spell hit her square on, and it took only a moment to realize what he'd cast. The growing teeth was a dead give away. Her eyes widened and Magdalena immediately covered her mouth with a hand as she glared angrily at Nikolai Krum. He was laughing. Jerk! Idiot! Prat! A string of names came to mind, all wanting to be blurted out at him in retaliation to the vile curse but it wasn't exactly possible.
Thankfully the Professor managed to look over at that moment to check on them and saw what was happening. "Mr. Krum, spells from the board only!" Chastised the old man, wagging a finger in their direction and stopping the spell. Alas, to reverse it it'd take a trip to the Hospital wing. "Ms. Fletcher, escort Ms. Ollivander to the Hospital Wing, will you? Mr. Johnson take her place and work with Mr. Krum." He went back to teaching as the pair in question scrambled, and Magi's friend, Penelope Fletcher grabbed Magi's back her arm to lead her out. All the while, Magi just kept on glaring at the one that had cursed her and only looked away when they finally left the class room and disappeared down the hall.
Magdalena hated him. absolutely hated him and knew that hatred wouldn't go away.
(BAHAHA. I love all the hints I threw in there XD Ethan Johnson before he died. Magi hating him (explains her attitude when they meet again). Love it. End )
