Tania Krum's loyalties were torn between Anna Weasley and Elias Greyback. By the virtue of her last name, she felt a sense of duty to support the Durmstrang Champion, Elias Greyback, because her own father had been in his shoes decades before. Not showing up to the First Task as the daughter of a former Triwizard Champion felt like a disgrace, although Tania had contemplated doing just that. There were going to be so many people there, and it seemed so much safer to stay within the castle walls. There was even more security for the start of the Tournament than there had been all year, which had been more than Tania had ever seen in all of her previous years at Hogwarts combined, and something about that scared her even more.
There was a risk, like the Hogwarts staff had anticipated a problem, and it had kept Tania on edge even as she had gotten settled in the stands. She had intentionally surrounded herself with other students, people upon whom she could rely if something were to happen. She wished that she had come to the stands with her sisters, although they had to have been somewhere else. From where she was, she couldn't even see them, but she told herself that they were okay.
Everything had gone as well as Tania had hoped, and she hung onto each and every word that Professor Longbottom spoke to the crowd. When he said that there was going to be a cannon blast, she sat quickly, bracing herself for the noise. She wanted to be happy for Anna and for Elias.
It came. While everyone else around her seemed to be enthralled by the sight of the three Champions' race into the hedge maze, Tania was gripping the underside of the bench upon which she was sitting. Her knuckles, if she had been able to see them, were white, and she knew that her entire body must have been shaking. All that she could think about was the sound, like the chaos of that first day of April.
She wanted to leave; she wanted to flee before she got hurt, but she felt completely trapped by the others around her. There was no way out, and Tania was convinced that she was going to die.

@tatiana The first task of the tournament was today. Cordelia had initially thought about not going at all. Too many people. She rarely ever made it to Quidditch matches, unless Hufflepuff was playing, and outside of those few instances, wasn’t a big fan of watching big events. This was different though. This was an opportunity that was hard to pass up, even if bad things could happen to the three champions. Wandering out of the castle, camera in hand like usual, she made her way to the stands with the hordes of other students. She had thought about finding people she knew, like Lily, but was sure that she was somewhere in the middle of the throng of Gryffindor students cheering on their friend and champion. Of course she was going to route for Anna; she was the Hogwarts champion and was related to what seemed like half the school. Even though Cordelia had bumped into the Durmstrang champion a few days back while in Hogsmeade, she felt her loyalties still were with Hogwarts. He was rather nice to her though, and took their whole conversation slowly so that she could talk at her own pace. Not too many people did that for her.
Looking up from her thoughts, Cordelia notice she had already managed to walk all the way to the stands. This was going to be the tough part. She had two choices: find someone she kind of knew and sit with them, or find a somewhat quiet spot to take pictures and stay hidden there the entire time. Scanning the crowd that was quickly forming in the stands, Cordelia spotted a familiar face. It was Tania! Cordelia had assumed she would be sitting with her sisters, so she hadn’t exactly bothered to ask her to join, but apparently that wasn’t the case. Happily skipping up through the stands, Cordelia made it to a spot well above where Tania was sitting, hopping down the benches that separated the two of them, she leaned over and tapped Tania on the shoulder, taking a seat next to her. “Morning.”

At the feeling of someone or something touching her shoulder, Tatiana flinched. She was still sitting bolt upright, although the sound of a voice had caused her to go from staring straight ahead to turning to find its source. There were people talking all around her, and she couldn't determine if any of them were actually as panicked as she. The one voice that she could pick out without hesitation was Cordelia Smith's.
Besides her sisters, Cordelia was one of her best friends, and Tania knew that she could lean on her to make sense of the terror that she felt. Tania couldn't have repeated back to Cordelia what she had just said if she'd tried, but she knew enough to know that her friend hadn't sounded the slightest bit worried about what was happening around them.
In the split second since she had initially reacted to Cordelia's presence, Tania had been brought back to reality, although her heart was still beating quickly. Except for the three Triwizard Champions, no one was running; no one seemed fearful. The only shouts that Tania could hear were ones of excitement. She was the only one who had been afraid, and she tried to play off her startle response as though she had been too focused on what was beginning to happen inside the maze.
Tania peeled her hands away from the bottom of the bench as inconspicuously as she could and set them in her lap. “Hi.” Her voice came out rushed, and she was positive that Cordelia could see past her façade. Still, she didn't see the harm in pretending.

@tatiana She hadn’t even noticed that the task had started, her focus set on approaching Tania the entire time. Normally, the cannon blast that went off probably would have scared her out of her wits if she hadn’t been paying attention. The loud mumble of excited talking that was all around them in the stands masked most of the sound though. It was comforting knowing there were other people around, even if it was a little pressure on her. They were never going to directly interact with her, so it didn’t really matter that they were there. A vastly different situation that being in class or in the Great Hall was.
Getting settled in on the bench, next to Tania, she tried to look past the fact that her friend seemed rather…nervous about something. Cordelia had a good eye for that behavior; she had lived the last sixteen years like that. Looking around at the crowd slowly to see if there was someone bothering Tania, she couldn’t tell if that was even the cause in the first place. Frowning and furrowing her face slightly, she returned her gaze to the champions in the maze. What was the best way to approach this? She knew if she was in a pinch or uncomfortable about something, Tania would notice and speak up about it immediately. “N-Nervous about the t-task?” She opted for the less intrusive choice, not wanting to pry on something that wasn’t her business. At least this way whatever was bothering her could be let out without directly saying it.
“Who d-do you think will win?” It was still early, but Cordelia wanted to get a good idea of what might go on. After having met Elias, he seemed rather capable. At the same time though, she had no idea what capable meant. The maze, albeit just starting, already seemed rather dangerous.
