Well, Clodagh now felt like she'd rattled a vipers nest as Aerick said his father left him and his mother. She hadn't meant to.... Well, offend him in any way. Or bring up any bad memories. Which, unfortunately she had. Typical Clo. Always saying the wrong thing. Her eyes were wide at his admittance. "I.... I'm sorry." She stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She couldn't imagine what that must feel like. And here she was go on about her own family! Stupid, she must have been making him feel awful! She looked away, trying to hide the hint of shame that she'd made such a blunder.
She nodded as he mentioned being in Wampus house. She remembered learning the names of the houses at one point. "I-I heard that sometimes more than one house can choose you." She spewed out the fact without even meaning to. Well, if that said just how nervous she was. To be honest, she hadn't known much about the school until she went to the States. Several of the people she'd met had attended the school. As he asked what house she'd been in though, she blushed just a little. Why? It shouldn't be embarrassing, admitting her house. But... Sometimes she didn't feel... well Adequate. She'd done well during school. Extremely well. Yet despite that there was still that insecurity. "Ravenclaw." She softly admitted.
@aerick (Maybe one more post each then end?)

Aerick looked at her quizzically when she apologized; what was she apologizing for? Then he realized; she thought she was being offensive with her family comments. "Please, it's no big deal. I've still got my mom and she's awesome. That's what matters right?" he said, giving her a smile. The muscles in his face felt sore, unused; he felt a little like he was forcing it. It was a big deal after all, and the reason he was in England to begin with. He knew just how close he was to finding his worthless father and making him pay for everything he'd done to their family. He had to remember that, he had to remember his goal. Aerick yawned; he had yet to sleep that day and he promised Uriah he would cover for him that night. It was time for him to sleep; it would do him no good to be lethargic and out of touch that night. Suppose that night was tonight? "Well. Clogagh Fitzpatrick. It has been a pleasure talking with you, but I have work this evening and came off a rough shift this past night." He downed the rest of his drink and stood. He looked directly at her and hesitated before speaking again. "I'd like to see you again though, if you'd be willing," he told her. @clodagh ooc: IN CASE YOU DARED TO SAY NO

Clodagh's eyes widened just a touch as he spoke, and offered that smile. Without even realizing it she shyly smiled back, unable to help it. He didn't sound offended, and the way he spoke made it seem like he really didn't care about his father leaving (obviously she was wrong, but it wasn't like she could read minds). "That's what matters." she quietly agreed.
He downed the rear of his drink and explained that he needed to leave. He must work nights, considering what he was saying. At least he had a good excuse to be up all night. Unlike her, she'd just been careless. Immediately nodded in understand. "It was nice meeting you." she responded breathlessly. It really was nice. Even though she was so awkward. Fully expecting him to just leave right then and there she was immediately shocked when he stopped and turned back to her.
By her expression it was obvious that she didn't get asked that question very often. Looking thoroughly shocked and stunned, there was a moment where it almost seemed like she'd been left speechless by his request. "You... do..? she asked, still unable to believe it. Finally though she managed a small and shaky smile. "I... yes." she was about to put up some sort of defense. To tell him that there were plenty of more interesting people than her. But the yes had just come out without her meaning it.

Aerick gave her a smile; he didn’t know if she would have any real excuse for not seeing him again, and it was a little adorable that she seemed surprised he wanted to see her again. It was curious, but made him more intrigued, and determined to see her again. “Well, until we meet again,” he said, inclining his head to her. Stifling another yawn, he made his way out of the bar and down the street towards his apartment. It would be a regular night at work he was sure, but the promise of seeing Clodagh Fitzpatrick again would give him happier reason to continue on in this dirty city.
