@emile she kept her fingers clasped carefully around his ankle as she hoped the spells she had cast started to do their job. she thought she could see some of the swelling going down but she couldn't be sure, it would take a few more moments before they actually knew it was working. “My luck ran out I guess.” she smiled and let out a laugh and nodded her head slightly. "I think you can help with getting that back though. You know that dance thing? Apparently I have to attend it. And you look like you can dance pretty well." she raised a brow slightly and looked at him. she could see where he was going with this. in typical ripley fashion she decided to have some fun with it, after all they liked to play games. though her attention was taken from thinking about the game to the fact he tried to move his leg. she shifted slightly and let her fingers fall from it as it seemed to move okay. "how's it feel?" she asked as she shifted from the rock she had been crouching on to the rock that he was sitting on.
“So you’re going to be my date to it. No arguing.” she didn't have a date yet, she'd been waiting to see if anyone asked her before making plans to go to the dance. she had a dress picked already, her mother had helped her pick it out a few weeks ago when she had been home. it wouldn't go to waste, with the events her parents attended she was sure she could tag along and wear a pretty dress to them. "okay. i promise i won't argue. my date might though" she said casually as she placed her butt on the rock next to him. "i could go with both of you but .." she said, trailing off with a small shrug as she pulled her knee up so she could rest her elbow on it and she turned her head to look at him with a smile.

@ripley “Well, it moves and there isn’t any pain, so it must be better.” Émile grinned at Ripley as she sat down next to him. He hopped up quickly to see how much weight he could place on it. Shifting back and forth between both legs and jumping up and down a few times, Émile was pleased with the results. No pain, no resistance. Nothing even remotely close to what it felt like only moments before. “Quite the talent you have there. Never seen that spell before.” Seeing as they had no idea what was wrong with his ankle in the first place and the other spells hadn’t worked on it, Ripley’s spell was definitely something else. Learning it would be a top priority before going into the next task. Plus it meant that she would have to teach him in person. “You’ll have to show me it again sometime.” Sitting back down on the rock next to her, Émile continued to feel around his ankle, just to be sure that everything was in the right place. Finally satisfied, he threw his arms behind him and leaned backwards, turning his head to face Ripley. “Merci. Getting hurt doesn’t happen too often for me.”
“Go with both…?” Émile repeated. He understood what she was playing at. Just as their other encounters, playing hard to get was the name of the game it seemed like. Still no complaints on his end. “You’re mistaken. Unless I suddenly have a twin, I’m the only one going to the ball with you.” He returned the smile she was giving him. He’d find it hard pressed that she had another date already. Not that she couldn’t do that, more that he knew her reaction would have been different when he asked. Hesitant maybe. There was also the part where they obviously couldn’t get enough of the other, so holding out long enough to get asked by him seemed like it was reasonable. He had been planning on asking her for a while now too, seeing as they wouldn’t let him attend on his own. How funny though, a current champion taking the daughter of a past champion to the Yule Ball. The newspapers would eat this up.

@emile “Quite the talent you have there. Never seen that spell before. You’ll have to show me it again sometime.” she watched him jump up and down on his newly healed ankle and was satisfied he wasn't trying to brush some sort of pain under the rug. she was positive he would have, since he didn't like to loose at anything and admitting pain was almost like that. she tilted her head slightly and brought her knee up to rest her chin on it and she shrugged softly, keeping the look of innocence on her face. "but in order to show you .. i'll need another broken bone to heal" she teased him as she shifted to nudge his shoulder with hers as he settled back onto the rock next to her. she watched him as he leaned back and she twisted her body slightly so she was facing him. “Merci. Getting hurt doesn’t happen too often for me.” she nodded. that was good. she hated the feeling that had been in the pit of her stomach when he'd been fighting the manticore and when she'd seen him hurt his foot just a few moments before. she shifted her own body, watching him for a few seconds before she stretched out her legs and let them drop over his. she figured if he had a problem with it he'd voice it.
“Go with both…? You’re mistaken. Unless I suddenly have a twin, I’m the only one going to the ball with you.” she looked at him with a challenge in her eye. he thought she was that easily won over? well she was but she wasn't going to be telling him that any time soon. "well your younger cousin does look a lot like you ..does that count?" she said as she tilted her head and nudged his knee with her foot carefully as she leaned back and rested on her hands. she studied him carefully as she waited to see his reaction to that. she had seen eli around the school and there was something of a resemblance. she couldn't keep it up though, she was going to let him have this round and cave before he could really convince her. "i do have one more question though. can you dance?"

@ripley He’d have to break another bone. Easier said than done. Surely Ripley knew how hard it was to actively try and break a bone without using magic. Émile had broken a few things over the years, and always in the most innocent ways possible. Broom go out of control and crashed into the ground? A bruise or two. Slipped on water on the school floor? Broken wrist. Silly things like that. He wasn’t exactly keen on breaking something else right then anyways. “I’ll wait until the next task then. I’ll make sure to break a few things, so I can have a try as well.” He nudged his shoulder slightly back at her after she bumped his. Obviously he wasn’t going to go out of his way to get hurt, but it would be a good excuse to have her fix him up again.
Émile snorted when she brought up Eli. “Is he making moves on girls finally? I know he’s like me sometimes, but he definitely hasn’t lost his innocence yet.” Or maybe he had and was just really good at hiding it. Eli needed to stay the way he was, or he’d become exactly like Émile was. Not that it was bad to be like him, just not fun when people actively went out of their way to avoid him most of the time. That was one of the nicer things about Hogwarts; almost nobody knew him there. They did now of course, but he was a champion. Everyone wanted to know the champions. His ears perked up at dancing. That’s right, it was a formal ball. Émile knew how to do that, seeing as his family was well off. “Oh but of course. I never liked going to the events my parents held, but I learned nonetheless.”

@emile “Oh but of course. I never liked going to the events my parents held, but I learned nonetheless.” she leaned back slightly as he divulged that piece of information. so he knew how to dance did he? well it wasn't all that shocking. a lot of people knew how to dance but them some didn't, she thought back to watching a few people she'd seen over the years and it had been entertaining to say the least. she used her foot to nudge his knee lightly, the leg that hadn't been injured of course and she smiled. "then i guess i can let you take me too the ball .. i suppose." she shook her hair back over her shoulders as she sat up to look straight at him. "though i might need to see some proof." she said with a slight smirk as she pulled her legs back toward her and tucked them under her, moving to sit on her knees.
she got to her feet and stretched her arms above her head, arching her back as she felt everything that was supposed to pull and relax as she dropped her arms and she sighed with the contented feeling that usually happened after a good stretch. she looked back at him and tilted her head slightly, walking over to him she smirked almost sweetly as she put her hands on his shoulders and moved to drop softly down onto his lap. "so did i say congratulations on your win yet?" she said with a slight tilt of her head again, some of her fringe falling in front of one of her eyes as she looked through her hair at him.

@ripley She nudged his leg with hers, and Émile reciprocated the motion with his own leg. She supposed she could go to the ball with him? This girl was killing him. On one hand, he liked the constant games, because it kept him on his toes all the time. At the same time though, a simple yes or no would have sufficed. It seemed Ripley had fun leading him like this though. Quite the opposite of what he was used to experiencing. “Proof of dancing? Love, look at who you’re talking to. Dancing is nothing compared to that manticore I just took down.” Émile could feel a grin form on his face as he watched her stand up and stretch. Was she still looking for proof that he could dance? He liked to think he wasn’t bad at it, not nearly as awful as some of his classmates. Beauxbatons was known to be slightly more elegant and held students to a higher standard. Most, if not all, came from somewhat better backgrounds then some of the students from Hogwarts. Not that all of the Hogwarts students were from common rabble. Ripley’s family and all those Weasleys had seemingly proved that they knew what they were doing. All that really mattered was the ability to use magic anyways.
Still assuming that she wanted to see him dance, Émile started to push himself off the ground. Apparently that wasn’t going to happen though, seeing as Ripley took his slow moving to sit down on his lap. Now that was definitely an interesting outcome. There were still a few things he couldn’t read just by looking at her movements and actions. He liked that. The constant mystery of what was going to happen next was fun. Her hands moved to his shoulders as she asked if she had congratulated him yet. “Can’t remember.” Émile stated, brushing the hair that had fallen in front of her face off to the side. “I think I know where to start though…”
