It was two o'clock in the morning and Desi had just completed her last shift as a Clun Indigo dancer. She was finally going to do something useful in this whole thing. After her shift, she found herself wandering and contemplating what was going to come next. Her sister, Cecelia, had been most helpful in keeping an eye on things at school, yet Desi suspected her heart wasn't in it. She could understand that. Desi's heart wasn't in anything anymore, not since losing Braelynn.
What was a heart, anyway? Just an organ, even though it was vital, it still seemed useless to her now. As if on cue, her heart started beating faster as she realized where she had wandered to. She was standing just outside that church that she had been beaten half to death in. She looked down at the scar on her arm, the one that said 'Braelynn'. She left it there to remind herself that she needed to find the little child who did this and crush her like the bug she was. She felt bad for thinking that way, considering spiders were her closest friends. The church was boarded up, but she slipped inside, reaching her hand to the wall and letting several spiders crawl onto it, dancing across her skin like moving tattoos. She smiled at them, feeling for just a moment that warmth she used to know.
The stain glass windows were still in shatters, letting in the cold night air. Desi was surprised there weren't homeless people boarding up in here but... but maybe they had felt the same darkness she did in this place. The darkness that came from the duel that had transpired here. Two girls with dead eyes, two girls with mediocre dueling skills, two girls who were lost. Desi grimaced, clenching her fist and turning her eyes toward an overturned pew where the girl had- wait.
That's when Desi remembered it. Now, of all times. She saw the girl flipping over that pew after Desi had sent her flying, and there, she saw a glimpse of what was under that dark hoodie. A red Gryffindor tie, and the long brown hair escaping from under the hood. If it wasn't Susan, Bays closest friend from her own house, then there was only one other person Desi thought it could be.
Bay's other best friend. A Gryffindor. Brown hair. Dark past. Andromeda Lestrange.
Desi was infuriated that she didn't realize it sooner. She shouted angrily, kicking the nearest pew and spinning toward the door, ready to march right back to that castle and take that little vigilante down herself. But, there were two people standing in the doorway. She had a sinking feeling, just then, that she wouldn't be walking out of there without a fight and Desi was no fighter.
"Awe, well. It's about time the aurors did something around here. Abby," Desi cocked her head to the side, faking a confident smile, "Theo misses you. He didn't say so aloud, but he was pretty obvious in bed the other night," may as well go down with a little fun. Not that anything was fun anymore, but it was worth trying. "I assure you, he's still kept his body in tip top shape. I've kept him entertained enough. You're welcome," now that last part wasn't really true, but Abigail wouldn't know that.
"And who's the blonde?" she didn't recognize the other.
Claire Evangeline Slater & @abigail (They could have been stalking her from the club or something and found her here. You go first!)

The Aurors had finally gotten the first break in the Elaine Dupree case in months. Club Indigo. That was where someone had spotted, and identified Desirae Rousseau. She'd been wearing a disguise of sorts, so she wouldn't be easily recognized, and that was why no one had recognized her sooner. But the moment the Aurors got the information Claire was assigned the job of tracking the younger girl and capturing her. Bringing Abigail along hadn't been the initial plan, but Claire needed a partner in this, and hers was... Well, gone. Abigail also needed the experience.
They spotted Desirae leaving the club and tailed her, keeping some distance to avoid detection but close enough to not lose her. It helped that Desirae did't know Claire, nor would she recognize her. It was an old church that probably hadn't been used in quite some time. Before entering, Claire nodded to Abigail, silently telling her to start the enchantments now. They didn't want Desirae to escape, or for Muggles to intervene. Wand drawn, Claire started to cast the intricate spells and enchantments that surrounded the building. Only once those were completed did they enter.
Desirae spotted them immediately, and put on an air of confidence as she tried to bait Abigail. Claire completely ignored Desi's words, just raised her wand and aimed square at the girl's chest. "Desirae Rousseau. You're under arrest for conspiracy, terrorism, and murder."

Abby wasn't sure at first what to think about this mission. Hunting down Desi was... A little close to home. Still, she needed the experience and, to be honest, she was kind of looking forward to being one of the people to find Desirae and arrest her. But she was a little apprehensive about her own feelings about the girl getting in the way. For now, she'd follow Claire's lead and not make any first moves. Not until the occasion called for her to take action.
They arrived at the club and followed Desirae when she left. Abby stayed silent of course. They arrived at a church, and Claire gave the signal to close the place off. Abby did, then met Claire at the front to step inside. Desi noticed them right away and it took all of Abby's strength to not lift her own wand right away. She needed to let Claire handle this. She had to.
Then Desi spoke, and Abby's hand clenched tightly around her wand, her knuckles turning white. If there was one thing about being an auror that Abby wasn't getting used to, it was maintaining control. She wasn't stupid though, she knew what Desi was doing. But, sadly, it was working. Before she could speak, Claire was doing things the official way. That calmed Abby's boiling blood a little, but she still stepped forward and raised her wand. "Just come quietly, Desi. And keep your mouth shut before you hurt yourself."

Oh, so Blondy wanted to play cops and robbers diff she? And then there was Abby pretending not to care about Desi's report. Desi tsked three times with her tongue, lifting her wand and spinning it around in her fingers. She may as well go down with style. "Conspiracy? Terrorism?" Desi feigned laughter, catching her wand in her palm, "I can't deny I've done those... But murder" her eyes narrowed on Blondy, "does it really count when they were already dead to you?" she hissed. She stepped forward, her eyes finding Abby again. "So, come on then. Unless you're too scared to fight," in a flash her wand was aimed at the arch above the aurors and stones started raining down. Claire was frowning. The girl, only eighteen years old, was a wanted fugitive, and once captured would likely received a life sentence. Only eighteen years old, and her life was over. Desirae Rousseau would go down in history as a pawn in these events that paid the ultimate price for an unjust and futile cause. "It's four counts of murder, actually." Claire stated bluntly and straightforward. "You are being charged as an accomplish for each murder at Hogwarts as well as the murder of Braelynn Rousseau."
She didn't lower her wand, instead taking a more firm stance and grip as Desirae made it clear she wouldn't go down without a fight. Well. if the girl wanted a fight, they could give her a fight. The dark haired girl went for the arch above them, hoping to crush them. Claire's wand moved smoothly through the air, the spell running through her mind as she threw up a shield to block the raining stone. In the same motion she spun away from the opening and Abigail. Better to not stand next to each other, it made them a more vulnerable target. Her wand was pointed back at Desirae in a flash. "Confundo." A spell to confuse and disorient her target. She didn't wait to see if she actually hit the girl. Claire was a good dueler for one reason. She stayed on the offense. Relentlessly attacking. "Bombarda." Another spell off without any hesitation. "Aqua Eructo." Unlike it's cousin, Aquamenti, Aqua Eructo's force and intensity could be controlled. It was currently a destructive and powerful jet.

At the mention of Braelynn, Abby frowned. The loss of Desi's sister that day was a huge downfall on the author rescue. As usual, Abby was sure things would have gone differently if she had been there. With Addi, with Theo.
Abby spun away from the falling arch as Claire blocked it, diving into a roll as she cast, "Stupefy!" she stood, running toward the back side of Desirae while Claire fired water at her, "Incendio-" she cast from the other side.

The fight had begun, and Desi screamed with laughter as the world around her slipped into it. She dodged the first spell, but the Bombarda cast hit the ground below her, causing the stone to explode toward her. She dived to the side, using her wanna to levitate the stones from the ground, blocking the jettison of water shooting toward her. But, she couldn't hold it forever, and Abby was coming around the back, summoning fire... Desi let out a loud yell and whisked her wand to the side, causing them to go crashing toward Abby. That meant she had to take the water from Claire, which knocked her backwards. She quickly sat down, allowing the water push her. It was hard to think, but she called out. "KILL HER. KILL THEM BOTH." And that's when the walls exploded with spiders. They came in through the windows and all the nooks and crannies, speedily making their way to Abigail and Claire. Claire Evangeline Slater

Between herself and Abigail the spells kept Desirae on the run. That was the stategy. If they stayed on the defense something would effectually get through but they also wouldn't be able to retaliate. Desirae managed to avoid some of the spells but not all. She had to pick between the water and the fire. She chose to block the fire, willingly exposing herself to Claire's jet of water. It knocked her off her feet, but Claire didn't relent. Letting the water cover every surface in the old church. And then... spiders. Ew.
To bad for Desirae Claire wasn't afraid of spiders. And they'd been warned before hand by higher ups about Desirae's ability. The water stopped and Claire finally smiled. It was cold, as if amused that Desirae would try. she turned her wand on the walls. "Incendio." Fire exploded from her wand and enveloped the wall. Spiders didn't mix well with fire.

Abby stopped her fire in order to block the stones Desi threw at her. She tossed them aside and turned to Desi with a growl, watching as Claire's water knocked her to the ground. Then, Desi called for the spiders, which they were expecting. Abby turned her own wand on them, following Claire's lead. But, the spiders were coming from all directions. The fire spread, but some of them were quick and before Abby knew it, they were crawling all over her. "Take care of Desi!" Abby called to Claire, taking several steps back as she fought the spiders off. She felt their bites and she hissed at them, swatting and shooting more fire from her wands. She felt their bites and tried not to scream. It was painful, but Abby wasn't one to scream in pain. In anger, yes, but not in pain.
The spiders were smarter then she thought, though, and the ones above her were slowly pushing a large stone toward her. She was fending off the spiders crawling on her when they dropped it. The stone came crashing down onto her shoulder and she collapsed under it.

Desi laughed loudly as the spiders burst into the room, but her smile was short lived. The fire spread fast and she screamed, pushing off the ground to sit up. "Please, please stop hurting them," she cried, "they'll leave, leave!" She told them, but the spiders seemed relentless to save her. It was almost touching. She was soaking wet but she lifted her wand, pointing it at Claire, her face falling flat of all emotion. "I won't die at the hands of auror scum," she said, but the emotion was gone. All around her the world was crashing apart and her friends were burning.
She started to shake, tell my sister that I fought," she found herself begging, "tell her I died for Elaines cause and that I'd do again. And that she should fight for it too. For me," in a flash she reached into her boot, pulling out a jagged knife and tossing it toward Abigail while simultaneously firing one last spell toward Claire. "Avada Ked-"

There were more spiders then Claire had expected but she wasn't freaked out. In fact she was oddly calm. She usually was. Claire didn't lose her cool, ever. But still, the sheer number of spiders being summoned would slow them down in making an arrest. Actually it was becoming more and more clear that an arrest wouldn't be possible. Muggles called it 'suicide by cop', if she remembered correctly. It meant they wouldn't be taken alive. Claire had a job though. To stop Desirae. Dead or alive.
Desirae was... well mentally breaking down. Screaming for them to stop, trying to get the spiders to leave. And then asking them to pass on a message to her sister, her living sister. "No." Claire answered coldly as she turned her wand back on Desirae. "You're sister is going to remember you for who you are. A murderer. A traitor." She finished harshly. That's all Desirae was. A criminal. She felt sorry for The last Rousseau, having to claim relations to this monster. She recognized the spell Desirae was attempting to cast before she even got it out. With a twist of her wand electricity shot from the tip of her wand and hit the water from her previous spell. It electricuted everything it touched.
Including Desirae Rousseau.

Abby grunted angrily, pushing the stone off her shoulder. Definitely broken, easy fix. She stood, clutching her shoulder as she looked over just in time for a knife to fly toward her. She stepped aside. Really, Desi? Really? Abby took one step forward, hearing Desis final pleas. Then, Abby knew what was coming and she moved back, climbing up onto a pew and looking down on the other two as the water became electric. She blinked, breathing in sharply through her nose. Suddenly Addie was being dragged away from her again, and she choked, leaning against the poll beside her. She remembered behind levitated into the air, suddenly electricity coursing through the water below her, like it was now. She could almost see Theo, lying there, steaming and unmoving. She heard Claire's voice and tried to pull herself back to reality, but the memory was too strong. She could smell the burning bodies, or maybe that was just Desirae? Either way, with the pain in her shoulder, the spider bites, and the memory of the night she lost Theo, really lost him, Abby was ready to move on. She took another deep breath and nodded at Claire. "Let's clean this up and get out of here." (Le end, bai Bai desi and thanks for the PTSD Claire )
